Good series.

Fatal Error good follow up to Fatal Demand. Jess is carrying ransom money to Italy. Action packed, fast moving thriller/mystery. FBI and Italian police knew this criminal family, but couldn't pin anything on them so far.

Fatal Error is the fourth book in The Jess Kimball Series.
This book follows Jess Kimball from a case she has been
investigating in the United States to Italy. Jess is an
Investigative reporter for Taboo Magazine.
She is trying to stop two Italian Brothers who are targeting
elderly people.
Jess becomes the monkey in the middle between the
American FBI , the Italian ROS and one of the brothers.
Again this book is fast-paced, with interesting characters,
plenty of suspense, thrills, chills and unexpected twists.
Kudos to Diane Capri and Nigel Blackwell for two exciting,
breathe taking reads.
Thanks to the author for the eBook. My opinion is my own.

Jess flies to Rome and meets up with FBI agent Henry Morris to rescue Grantley Wilson, a man who, with the help of the Ficcaro brothers, fakes his kidnapping to get his parents retirement money. Things go very wrong, and Jess has a hand in killing one of the brothers before she leaves the States. Meanwhile, the ransom money gets “lost,” and the other brother keeps Wilson in a dungeon in the woods, torturing him. Jess, Morris and the Carabinieri force are trying to find Wilson and bring Enzo Ficarro down, but Jess gets kidnapped and forced into the dungeon also. I have mixed feelings about this one. It was quite gruesome in places and not my thing. When Capri was describing the fights, often it didn’t make sense, and I couldn’t visualize the fight. Unlike Lee Child’s, Jack Reacher ─ I can always follow the action as if I were there. I do give Capri credit for knowing how to describe building a bomb and bypassing the phone system with a radio and a few other gadgets. She did her homework there. I hope the other books in this series aren’t as gruesome for I would like to read them all and don’t remember the two I have read as being this graphic.

Spotify audiobook
I quit this audiobook in disgust at maybe an hour and a half in, at the point where Jess convinces FBI agent Morris to give her his extra gun while they’re in Italy. This is patently absurd. It’s so far out of the possibility of what could happen that the book ought to be classified as a fantasy. Plus, I grew to despise Jess, as she was acting like a petulant teenager. She’s going to put her own and others’ lives at risk because she “..just has to do this.”
I bought the first three audiobooks in this series, and I think there are currently eight in the series, but I’ve had it. I refuse to support authors who think I’m an idiot.

Good Read

Fast paced enjoyable story. Feeling indebted to the elderly parents of a criminal, now kidnap victim, Jess heads to Italy to try to track down the head of a crime family that is holding him for ransom. With Agent Morris of the FBI and his Italian counterparts also working the case and the Italians determined to keep Jess in the dark about the investigation, she goes off on her own and ends up in the hands of the kidnappers. Can they find her in time and will she still be in one piece if they do?

This is officially my last book of the series. I didn't find the characters enjoyable or the writing compelling. There are certainly better series in this genre.

Part two after Fatal Demand...

Just as amazing as the first part!! Fast action, thrilling, and extremely detailed. I went back and re-read some sections because of the pace and detail. In this half, Jess is in Italy to finish a job she started. Wow. Both authors did an amazing job bringing the story to another country and really making it all work between two countries and two individuals who are invested in this case for very different reasons. The tension and frustration that can exist in those types of collaboration. Is felt by the reader at times. A sign of a very well written and realistic novel.

Again I had a very hard time putting this one down. It is so engaging and the reader wants to know what is happening next.

I loved the cast of characters and hope at some point they are brought together soon...perhaps for the inquest??

I highly recommend this novel as well as its previous book "Fatal Demand."

The forces of good and evil are racing to an exciting climax! In Fatal Error, Jess Kimball follows the case begun in Fatal Demand to its stunning conclusion in Italy. She has a awareness for her surroundings that provide clues to both the American FBA and the Italian ROS. That doesn't prevent her from being kidnapped and held for ransom. Once again, she finds a key that unlocks the mystery of where she is being held by her captor and relates it to the authorities. I really enjoyed this book! I can hardly wait for the next Jess Kimball thriller!

I was given an advance copy of this book for providing my hones opinion about it.

Fatal Error begins where Fatal Demand leaves off. Fatal Demand was good, but Fatal Error is great! Lots of action, suspense, and thrills. Jess Kimball is a very smart girl (who thinks she works for the FBI)...which is probably why she is such a great reporter...and a survivor (which is not really a spoiler, since she is the star of this series of books). I had a hard time putting this book down. I NEEDED to know what was going to happen next. I can't imagine reading this book without reading Fatal Demand first. I hope there will be more to follow.

Wow, what an ending to the adventure that began in Fatal Demand. I love how Diana and Nigel immerse us into the story, to the point where my heart was pounding while reading the last couple of chapters - I was right there with them!! Absolutely loved the story, and I highly recommend you read both books in quick succession to get the full benefit of this great reading experience.

A really great book. When Jessica Kimbal arrives in Italy, she immediately goes into action. Diane Capri makes you care about most of the characters, of course, some you hate. I like that Jess wants to help people as well as find her son. A well-written book and series. I will continue to read the Jessica Kimbal series as well as other books by Diane.
I am looking forward to her next book.

Slow start; great finish!

Diane Capri is an excellent writer who knows how to develop characters and a plot. While the book had a slow start, it was a thriller with many twists and turns. I recommend it and hope you will enjoy it, too.
