As they say, The road to hell is paved with good intentions.. Sometimes what you think is best for someone isn't always what is really best for them. They have to make that decision on their own, and this lesson is what Jughead and Betty learned in this issue. While this might not be my favorite issue, i am still enjoying the heck out of this!

PS: BRING BACK FIONA STAPLES!!

Still a smart, savvy title absolutely worth reading, this is nonethless the first issue where I felt a tiny bit of a let-down after finishing it, though I'm sure they're building to something in upcoming issues.

The story is good, the art not so much. They should stick to one artist and not change them because it's confusing.

Archie's narrative flair is still very much present, but the characterization still feels rudimentary at best.

I adore this cover. Veronica Fish is an artist I've been seeing around in comics more and more lately and I can't get enough of her style. She is a perfect addition to this series.

Reggie is himself, but more. I don't know if my expectations are so low because the originals were basically caricatures of people, but I am still loving the depth Waid has given the cast. Reggie Mantle is, and always will be, kind of a dick, but he's also got a lonely upbringing and a desperate thirst to be someone to round himself out.

(He's almost certainly talking to Jughead - their dynamic has always been my favorite.)

Liked it more than the last few issues. Mainly because of the super villain of Riverdale, Reggie Mantles. The rivalry between Archie and Reggie is going to boil up in the next issues probably. It was kinda disappointing to see Betty give up on Archie so easily. And then Archie misunderstanding his best 2 friends Jughead and Betty over the mix up with Reggie. This issue created a lot of build up to the next issues storywise, but the artwork took a dip compared to the previous issues.

Love that Archie finally stopped jumping every time Veronica called him by the end of this issue. Not so happy with how he walked away from Jughead and Betty though. Curious to see how things go with them in the next episode.

Also like that we are starting to see more and more side characters now.

4.5/5 stars! :)

Oh look. Another comic series that's going to ruin me. Never thought I'd see the day, Riverdale gang. Tch.

Love the way the story is progressing, and I'm digging Veronica Fish's artwork. A step up from the previous issue, I thought. (No offense in any way to Annie Wu.)

Veronica Fish's art is good, but makes me miss Fiona Staples. The story gets more interesting, as Archie and Veronica's relationship develops.

The love triangle is so strong, but overall the story development is so good and the artworks were brilliant.

Jughead is definitely the only intelligent person here.

Is this really how overly sensitive, tantrum-prone, dumb, and oblivious teens are these days? Heavy yikes!

Betty makes a stupid life choice, Jug is the only person who has a sense of honour and a spark of intelligence in his skull. Well, except Archie for a moment, but he spoils that by turning against his best friends over the horrid vixen who's treating him like trash.

I think maybe I was doomed from the start when I started with the television show - back when it was actually good - but I can't stand the way some of the characters are behaving. Even if they weren't characters I found familiar, though, I think I'd still be so over the pettiness and tantrums everyone seem to consider normal teenage behaviour. I love interpersonal fluff type stuff, but not when it's so weighed down by an abusive "relationship" with a clueless victim and good people being treated like trash by those they should be able to trust.

It's weird, because the reprints of classic Archie comics in the back of these issues are charming (if also dated) and don't feel as overly melodramatic. Maybe they're trying too hard when modernizing? I don't know.

This was great! A solid addition to the series.

Archie v. Reggie is something I always like to see. Also, the Betty & Jughead partnership is awesome! Veronica is equal parts selfish and annoying, and yet I am yet to hate her. Weird...

A deal with the devil ..er Reggie. Who thought this will go bad? Who? At this point this can't go any faster. To be honest the hammer was a little lame after such a buildup.

I always love Archie

Archie is always the quintessential doofy lad that you can help but root for no matter what hijinks you see himself putting him in.
