The Prince's Fated Mate

Rate this book
Ever since he was young, Will has admired his parents for being fated mates — soul-bound destined partners. All they needed was one quick look to know that they were meant to be together. Of course, Will’s a simple, practical omega happy with his simple, quiet life in the remote town of Hemslock, helping his father around at the inn they own. He never really expected to have a fated mate of his own — until the day his destined alpha strolls into town.

The problem is, his alpha is none other than Prince James, the handsome and aloof First Son of the pack, who’s already engaged to another omega prince. Not only is he in an entirely different league from Will, he's also almost impossible to talk to.

And an even bigger problem? Prince James seems to have no clue that Will is his fated mate and nothing Will does changes that. Can Will win over the prince’s heart and find his happy ending? Or is Will doomed to a one-sided destiny, watching his fated mate bond with another omega?

The Prince’s Fated Mate is a standalone romance novel featuring gay werewolves and an alpha-omega pairing, and hot, steamy action between two men! Warning for mentions of male pregnancy. The story has a happily-ever-after ending and no cliffhangers.

This book was full of plot holes, and no, this isn't a pun. I had high expectations for the story because the blurb was really intriguing, but sadly the story wasn't as interesting as I had thought.
For more than 70% of the book only Will was aware that the Prince was his fated mate. Only almost at the end we understand way, but at that point I didn't care anymore, since I couldn't really believe in them as a couple. So to make this review short, the initial part of the book was boring with 1 or 2 nice scenes, the middle part flat and annoying, and the last one was becoming something when the book ended way too fast.
I'm rating this story 3 stars because there is no rape, and I'd say also no cheat, but for many people the fact that the Prince sleeps with Will when he is still promised to the other omega(arranged marriage though) could be seen as cheating.

Refreshing not-so-insta-love for a mate shifter story. The plot kept me reading and the end is sweet. Though I find it a little bit -just a tiny bit- rushed.
The first half of the book my heart ached for Will.
I can't wait for the second book in the series I think it'll be interesting!
Hope it's Kytes' story

Not verry impressed by this book. It looks just like an unsuccesful Cinderella story. Only, in this story, the prince doesn’t care at all.

The action is predictable.

I read this in one day. I was very intrigued from the very beginning and couldn't put the book down.
The common thread was just perfect....

Though I had some issues and was almost about to give it 3 stars, but really wanted to give it 5.
First the cover, the prince is a grey wolf, but I don't think we heard Will was white? so is it just a lazy made cover?
There was some mistakes in the text, like "this" where it should have been "these" and "had been had been." mistakes that could have been avoided with another read threw.
Then there was the dialogue, there was too much "said James" "said the alpha" "answered Will", this could have been avoided, it was too distracting.

enjoyed the story but...

I very much enjoyed the characters and the story. It was a bit predictable but still exciting enough to hold my interest. The only weak part for me was the world building. Throughout the book I just couldn’t get a clear picture. Was this set in modern times or a more primitive culture.

The prince was an utter and complete douchebag. Fated mated…. not so much apparently.

This is a fresh take on fated mates: what if only one of them realizes it? I was growing just as frustrated as Will (a credit to the writing) as I was trying to guess what was wrong with James and their mating match. While I had some suspicions early on, the full situation isn't made apparent until a quite dramatic scene with a twist or two. I thought Alex's device for giving Will and James a chance to get to know each other to be clever and enjoyed the way their relationship progressed. While there's just a hint of the omega heat, there are a number of sexy scenes to spice things up. This is not a true mpreg although there is a mention of omega pregnancy. The epilogue is quite sweet (with a tidbit that may lead to a later story?). A good start to a new series.

I received a copy of this story in exchange for an honest review.

A good start

This a new series by Alex Ashmore and this is a promising start.
Spoiler alert!
This is a fated mates tale when one of the protagonists is unable to sense the bond but still feels something towards the other.
Will the citizen and the Prince James build a gentle real relationship that is importantly at first built around friendship and liking.
This is against the background of insight into the royal court filled with duty and intrigue from which we may find out the reason why James cannot recognise his mate.
Will's family and friends are likeable secondary characters who have important to parts to play and will be good to see how this develops through the series.

What a wonderful story, I was so sad for Will, and for prince James, how will knows fully that prince James is Bond mate, but for some odd reason prince James can't feel it like William. But with more time he spends with Will, he falls in love, but there is outside and inside treason going on. Will they be able to be together forever? Very enjoyable, just make sure you have kleenex, you'll want to cry along with William.. I was given this story for a honest review. can't wait for the next story.

Another great shifter romance by A.A. After reading all A.A.'s books, I can say that this one is at the top of my favorites. Though it has all the other great qualities that his other books have, this one has a little more twist and spice! James and Will have a great story that is love at first sight, but not ;-) Along with the romance and spice, there is family, friendship, deception, and a happily ever after that any shifter romance lover will be happy to see! Great work Alex, can't wait for more!

Surprisingly Delightful

I wasn't sure about this book when I down loaded it because I had read a few of the reviews. I decided to give it a try and found it to be a delightful read. Although early on I had a pretty good idea of what was going on with Prince James it was still a few surprises and I enjoyed how it played out.

A Journey to Love.

This was a sweet love story. The journey was a little tortured but the tender bud of love grew. The characters were developed well and I had a good understanding of the key performers. I enjoyed the writing and I look forward to reading the next book.

Stubborn wolf

I really liked how the main character development in this story. It was not just an instant romance. Well you will have to read the story to find out more. Only 4 stars, the ending was a little to neat for me. I will be watching this author though.

This book read as a sort of fairytale, and that was quite nice. The reason my rating isn't higher is because of the way the story skips (like when they get to know each other), otherwise quite nice and a different shifter-trope!
