I wrote the following review for Amazon where Kristine Kersey is listed as the single author of the book. However, Goodreads attributes Noelle Stevens in first position and Kristine Kersey as second. Is it possible that Noelle Stevens is really the one deserving of this review?
I must admit to having very mixed feelings as I concluded “Falling for You.” You see, I had read two previous offerings by Christine Kersey – “Rescue my Heart” and “Hearts on Fire,” both of which were part of the “Park City Firefighter Series.” The former earned five stars and the later earned only three stars. Unfortunately, I determined early on that I was being charitable with a three star award for this offering. In short, this clean romance did not inspire me. I found the dialogue to be often stilted and sophomoric. Too often the writing sounded like “boiler plate” romance novel language and not original with the author. My reading became a chore and not an adventure. The writing did not “flow” or “pull me in to the story” to the extent that reading became a page turning experience where I could not wait to see what happens next. I found this to be a story about fear and insecurity rather than love. Neither Brody nor Reese were attractive protagonists with negativity and insecurity being in the forefront of almost every scene. These are not attributes I like to see on bright display and in primary focus as they were here. On the bright side, the story itself held much promise and I simply had to see how things turned out so I could move on in my continuing quest for five star clean romance offerings. Ms. Kersey’s writing had met that standard only once in the three books I had read and I was ready to move on. As I read the last page, however, I was smacked in the face with the realization that the story did not end here. I hastened to read the synopsis of the other three books in the series and discovered that, I believe for the first time, I had stumbled into a series where the protagonists are the same for every book in the series. If I wanted to read the full story, I needed to read all for books in the series. Therefore, my dilemma: read all four books or leave the full story untold. My conclusion: since Ms. Kersey produced at least one five star book maybe she will do it again. I’m in for the full story.
**Searching for Love: The complete Story books 1-4: Reese and Brody's story 4 stars I purchased Searching For Love: The Complete Story books 1-4: Reese and Brody's story by Christine kersey and this review was given freely. Cut into 4 installments, This is an opposites attract, fear to love, love at first sight rocky romance with a happy ending. Wealthy Brody falls in love at first sight of photographer Reese but self doubts, shame, family views and personalities get in the way. Picturesque scenes from USA state parks and scenic places bringing found memories of my two week RV trip around the US, interesting characters, all the drama, and of course the happy ending make this a interesting story.
*Falling For You 4 stars I purchased a copy of Searching For Love: Falling For You, the first installment in Reese and Brody's story by Christine Kersey and this review was given freely. An opposites attraction at first sight novel. Recently divorced and struggling photographer Reese is traveling in an RV. She meets well to do Brody on the beach in Malibu. Unfortunately while Brody starts to heal after the loss of his fiance', Reese runs scared. Good story line, protective alpha male, and a rocky romance.
*Finding Reese 4 stars I purchased a copy of Searching For Love: Finding Reese, the second installment of Reese and Brody's story by Christine Kersey and this review was given freely. Picturesque scenes of Yellowstone National Park are seamless blended into this story of Brody searching for Reese and their tentative start as a couple.
*Surrender My Heart 4 stars I purchased a copy of Searching For Love: Surrender My Heart: the third installment of Reese and Brody's story by Christine Kersey and this review was given freely. The rocky romance continues as Brody and Reese return to Malibu where everyone accepts her except for Body's interfering mother Grace. Emotional and drama packed with Reese being pulled in multiple directions by her love for Brody, Grace's reinforcement of low self worth, and Brother Seth's request for Reese to care for their mother.
* Bring Me Home 4 stars I purchased a copy of Searching For Love: Bring Me Home: the final installment of Reese and Brody's story by Christine Kersey and this review was given freely. While Reese is rejected by her own mother, Brody facilities her acceptance by his mother Grace. Drama in the form of multiple family health issues, an accident, a pregnancy, and Reese and Brody finally communicating lead to a happy ending with a hint at a sequel involving Reese's brother Seth and Brody's sister Avery.
This was an easy read - I finished it in one day - but not worth the bother.
Reese is 24 and living in a 30-year-old RV and touring the country trying to make a living in photography after being dumped by her husband, her high school beau who married her right after high school graduation. She's landed in Mailbu and runs across gorgeous self-made millionaire Brody Ford when she nearly drowns during her first foray into the ocean.
Reese has a ton of baggage. In addition to her ex-husband dumping her, her father is spending time in prison for dealing and using drugs and her mother is the town drunk. He ex dumped her because he felt she was a liability to his career. So, she is convinced that no one will love and accept her for who she is and not the baggage she brings with her. As a result, she resists Brody at almost every step, while at the same time falling for him.
SPOILER!!!
The book ends when she abruptly packs up her RV and leaves without a word to Brody because she's sure that he would never accept her and her baggage. Their story continues in Book 2, something that drives me right over the edge.
I don't have a lot of good to say about this book. First of all it is just long enough to try to get you interested in the next book. The main character Reese, is insecure, immature and just generally irritating. Brody is a little better, but their interest in each other makes no sense. The writing style left much to be desired. It was constantly jumping back and forth POVs. The scenes were not involved enough for much to happen or the characters to really build any type of relationship. I know the ending was meant to be a cliffhanger, but I feel like Brody is way better off without her and really don't care enough about either character to read on.
The book was decent. The main character was whiny but I understood it with her background. I was irritated when the book ended and realized I would have to buy a second book to see how things went for the couple, the realized I would need to buy 4 before I got the whole story. There was not enough of a story line in the first book to make me want to keep reading knowing I would have to wade through 3 more books.
Reese is living in her beat-up RV running from her past, she is not sure she believes in any happily ever after, she has just been divorced by her High School Sweetheart. She parks her beat-up RV in an RV park next to the beach. When handsome Brody saves her from drowning in the sea, she is smitten. She is quite certain after seeing his house he is way out of her league. This was fun, clean read.
The love and beach tranquility in this book makes you sit back and enjoy the life of the characters. Jump in with the mental drama of the female lead, Reese, who is constantly talking to herself about her inadequacies and you will smile even more. This is an enjoy the beauty now book
Flirty, fun beach story. Still very clean and good to read. It IS a series and there's a cliffhanger at the end of this story, so make sure you are ready for the other three books. Characters were fun to read and picture throughout the story.
This is not one of my favorites. I like the story basis but it took so long to get anywhere. Then when it did it was over. I'm probably going to read the next one to find out what happens and I hope it doesn't drag. Plus more positive with communication.
Couldn't put it down. I just wish I didn't have to read another book to get the rest of the story. Brody and Reese are both hurting from the past and fighting the attraction they feel. Can't wait to read the next book.
The story is less of a story and more about fear. Fear of failure, fear of relationships, fear of feelings. Add a half total story in to add to a just okay tale.
I appreciate that this author has the first book in each series free so I can check it out and then keep on if I think I want to.
This book is the first in a four book series, with no resolution in the end. You basically have to buy the next books in order to reach the ending. I'm not sure I'm up for spending all that money on the next books just to get to the resolution. I wasn't so attached to the characters or the story that I felt a driving need to run out and buy the next one- especially knowing even the next book won't bring me any resolution. Don't get me wrong, this book was in no way bad, it just wasn't compelling enough for me to continue.
I am going to try another series though. I have it waiting for me when I have a minute. :)
free ebook couldnt find on goodreads so i added it

I received this book for a review. This is a cute story. The story tells of two people with sad but very different past. It's hard sometimes watching Reese( the female char. ) take one step than move back two. I hate that this is cliffhanger. Will I follow to to next story ? Maybe
I love the story really well but I was looking forward to a happy ending and didn't get one. Now I have to read the next book to find out what happened. I don't like that.
It's difficult when you can relate to a character, and not get the ending you want in a story. However, I loved this book, and I cannot wait to finish the series.
