Claudia McCoy has been told what she can't do enough for one lifetime. After a near-fatal childhood battle with juvenile diabetes and having to accept that her dreams of serving in the military would never come true, she's thrilled to begin a life on her own terms. Yet, when she finally starts her career in the FBI, Claudia is furious that her condition and overbearing big brother, Wyatt, have both once again interfered with her ability to have the life she truly wants. Now derailed from her high-profile aspirations of a position in the FBI's D.C. headquarters, she is instead planted far away from the real action, and practically right in her brother's Pittsburgh backyard.
Trey Adler is known for fixing things, but he's broken just as many — leaving him with regrets that never go away. He'd be the first to agree he should stay away from a nice girl like Claudia, but he can't deny his friend Jenna Sutherland's request when she asks him to use his position as a temporary FBI consultant to keep Claudia safe — especially as it's clear this little firecracker needs protecting. Far away from all the action she so craves, Claudia is more determined than ever to prove herself in her first major investigation at whatever cost — and those costs are proving to be dangerously high.
Their battle of wills turns quickly into a powerful need for one other, making them both rethink everything they ever wanted.
Will Trey be able to keep her alive long enough to give them an opportunity at something real together — a future that can survive the danger in their present, as well as the darkness of his past?

I really enjoy reading this series and A Steel Town was no exception.
Trey and Claudia were a very layered and diverse couple from the rest.
Both with rough background histories, Claudia has always been been the outsider looking out at everyone and Trey is that misunderstood, enigmatic character that people just can't scratch the surface of what makes him, him.
One thing that stood out for me, was how author Chloe A. Barlow hones in on the topic of diabetes~~ how it can change and affect your life, and how Claudia deals with it but ultimately makes due with it and does not let it rule her.
And also, I enjoyed the topics of family, love, and loyalty play into the story--- as with Trey's past, his shady outlook on love... Claudia's overprotective male family members and her need to break out their meddling ways and make something of herself on her own ... and the risky nature of falling in love on the job, especially when you work in the FBI.
I can't say enough on how much I enjoyed this book and how it captivated me. I could really go on and on! >_<
I love Chloe and her books. She's one of my favorite authors and I've been waiting a long time for Trey's story. It was totally worth the wait! Trey is mysterious, that's part of his appeal. No one knows the real him. We don't know his history or why he is the way he is. Until now. Jenna asked him to watch out for Wyatt's little sister, Claudia, who just moved to town and works for the FBI. Their 'meet cute' is one of my favorites. Claudia is feisty and Trey is instantly attracted to her. Even though Jenna warned him to just watch out for her, he can't help it. When they decide to work together, their attraction grows. Trey knows he's not good enough for her, but he can't seem to stay away. When danger follows them and they have to hide, they finally give into their lust for each other. Man, is it hot. Trey is so hot! He cares for her and wants to protect her. When things go sideways, will Trey be able to save Claudia? Can Claudia convince Trey that he is good enough for her love? I loved this story! I love knowing what Trey is thinking and where he came from. I loved watching him loosen up and let go. I already need more Trey!
"If you don't know how precious you are to me by now, then you're not half the genius I took you for." "You better be careful, or I'll think you're going soft, Trey Adler."
A Steel Town is Trey and Claudia's book and I have been waiting for this book for what feels like forever and Chloe did not disappoint!
Claudia McCoy is Wyatt's little sister. She is the sister and daughter of NFL super stars. She is also a Type 1 diabetic and has lived with insulin dependence her entire life. She has lived with everyone treating her as though she is glass. She has dealt with watching other kids live normal lives while she avoids trick-or-treating and birthday cakes. She has lived with her brother shielding her from everything in life that could be dangerous. She is on her own now. She is a member of the FBI office in Pittsburgh and is more determined than ever to prove to everyone that she can be just as good of an agent as any "healthy" person can be.
Trey Adler is the guy that everyone loves to hate. He is friends with Jenna, Griffen, and Tea but at odds with Wyatt. He doesn't play by the rules, at least not anyone's but his own. He lives life how sees fit and if someone disagrees or doesn't like something he has done that's on them. Trey has been asked to watch over Claudia and try to keep her safe. During this, he realizes just how much Claudia is like him, and like the woman that destroyed him in the past. He brings her onto his team in order to protect her as well as use her skills to help solve the case behind Jack Taylor's murder.
Trey has always vowed that he would never fall in love. Claudia has vowed that she would never rely on someone else to do for her what she can do for herself. What happens when they discover that they need each other more than ever wanted to admit? Can Claudia deal with one more over bearing protective man in her life? Can Trey let down his walls to allow love in?
Absolutely amazing book!! I loved every minute of it and can't wait for more in the series! I loved seeing Jenna and Wyatt and Tea and Griffen again as well!
Ahhhhhh this book!!more than WOW!!More than GREAT!!! And if I could only rate this book more than five stars I would because really I was hooked, captivated and more than in awe as the story progresses. In all honesty, after I read Shanghai Wind, I immediately moved forward to this book because I can't wait any longer what's in the story especially knowing that finally I get to read the story of that mystery/tattooed/sexy/hot man we all know as Trey and that little but sassy woman Claudia.
Yet again, the book written by Ms. Chloe keeps getting better and better and I do not know how she does it. I devoured line after line and savoured every moment. I can't even put the book down because I was eager to know what will happen next. The excitement..the fear..the anger...the fun filled romance...the heated banters..the hot steamy sex scences..the falling in love...ahhhh I thought my heart and mind could not take all those. In fact, Out of all the books in this series so far, Steel Town is the most I had the hard time writing a review not because I don't want or like the book but because from the start to the end I loved everything in this book. The blurb of this story says it all and more. And I don't want to reveal any spoilers because this is the kind of story that should be read blind to get the full experience of that topsy turvey and one hell of a kind of roller coaster of emotional ride.
To Ms. Chloe, I really do not know what to say... I sooo hate you and love you for writing this book because you made me high even after several hours of reading. Really, beautifully written is an understatement to describe your works.
A must read!
*ARC kindly privided in exchange for an honest review*
Ah-mazing!! I won an ARC of A Steel Town (A Gateway to Love Novel #3) by Chloe T. Barlow and I've been waiting to read this book ever since the last book came out by Ms. Barlow! Let me start by saying that all that I hoped to find in this book I found and then some! Claudia and Trey serve a plate full of emotions, excitement, tension, love, passion and wit. They're stubborn and independent and very intelligent working together for the FBI. There is a palpable chemistry between them that starts slowly but boils over when they finally allow their feelings to surface. Without spoilers there isn't much I can reveal but Oh boy I loved the suspense when their investigations started to heat up! This book binds all the previous books together with such plot twists that I couldn't put it down until the thrilling suspension was over. Chloe Barlow is a wonderful and talented author and I was thrilled to find a sneak peak of her fourth upcoming book in this series in the final pages! Yay the series continues...!!
This was a huge disappoinment after this series started out so strong. The characters were not good. First, why does he have to call her "little one"? It makes her sound like a little kid which makes this story confusing. Second, a near virgin? Ugh..just no. I wanted to like it but I couldn't even finish.
I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Finally! I feel like I have been waiting forever for this book. I loved Trey and his tattooed badass, computer hacking ways in the previous books so I couldn't wait to get my hands on this one.
Claudia, who we met in City of Champions, has moved to Pittsburgh to work for the FBI. She feels that she hasn't been given a fair shot to show her skills thanks to her over protective brother (Hello there Wyatt!) and his need to watch over her at all times. While I can understand why (she has Type 1 diabetes) he feels this way, I wanted to reach through the book and smack him on the head. Claudia certainly knows how to take care of herself. She is a smart, strong, kick ass woman who knows what she wants. And she wants to be taken seriously. Even if that means going behind her boss' back to follow a lead that he said she shouldn't follow.
This is where Trey comes in. Knowing that he was doing some work for the Pittsburgh FBI, Jenna asks Trey to keep an eye on Claudia. This results in a very interesting first meeting and the beginning of their love/hate relationship. Luckily for them (and for us readers) the hate part isn't around for too long and they discover that they actually make a great pair in all aspects of their lives. Professionally they work extremely well together and personally they pretty much melted my ereader. You could've cut the sexual tension between Trey and Claudia with a knife.
I found it interesting that even though Trey kept a lot of people on the outskirts of his life, he let Claudia in pretty easily. She grabbed his attention from the moment they met. He became extremely protective of her and was the first woman he had feelings for in almost 10 years. But Trey was still batting some demons from his past which caused him to make some dumb guy decisions.
I just loved Trey and Claudia so much. They balanced each other out so well. They both always seemed to know what the other needed. And that usually meant some fantastic verbal sparring before they were able to compromise. It was so entertaining to read. Claudia hated being treated with kid gloves and as soon as Trey realized that, all bets were off. That doesn't mean that Trey wasn't ridiculously sweet at times, because he really was. And when he finally completely opened his heart to her, it was beautiful.
A Steel Town is not to be missed, especially if you have read the previous books in this series. This was the last book I read in 2015...talk about ending on a good note! It was great to see the whole gang again. We got some great group scenes that reminded me why I love this series so much. The author even laid the groundwork for the next book and I will say this: I NEED IT!
Have you ever received a book or bought a book that you have been so excited to read but could not bring yourself to read it because then the story would be over so quickly? Yup, that would be Steel Town by Chloe Barlow. I first read about Trey and his nerdy ways in the first book Three Rivers and I had been hooked ever since. I have been anxiously waiting his story for what feels like forever and I could not be happier with it (unless I knew Trey personally, because even though he may be my book boyfriend I think Claudia is perfect for him.) This book continues on from both Three Rivers and Shanghai Wind as Trey and Claudia delve deeper in different cases that affect those they love. I knew that Chloe had to have a great gal in mind for our Trey and I cannot believe how awesome Claudia is. She is both sassy and innocent; strong yet vulnerable. It works so well because Trey is so protective to the point of fault. Her life has been determined by her sickness but she tries her hardest to beat it. It. With Trey, she can be herself and not worry about her illness because he makes her strong. Trey, having had his share of dark and painful in his past, is a mystery and does not let people in very easily. All that he wants is to find the bad guys and protect those he cares about.; even if he has to skirt the line of right and wrong to do so. This book has had many ups, downs and so many feels. What I loved most was the suspense and events that kept me guessing on what comes next. The great things about Chloe's writing is the amount of research and knowledge she puts in. She makes sure that she understands any subject she writes about. It was a great story and I cannot wait until the next story. I was gifted a copy from the author for an honest review. The opinions and ratings are my own and I was in no way compensated.
The third book in the GATEWAY TO LOVE Series....A STEEL TOWN was amazing.
Trey Adler has lost a lot. He's a very technical savy person, and gets into a lot of trouble. When he meets his match Claudia McCoy he isn't quite sure what to do. He promised his friend he would watch out for her. She works for the FBI, and he does some work for them too. So he guesses this will be perfect. It's not until he follows her to a location she gets a tip, and pretty much saves her. Now they must work together to figure out what exactly is going down. He soon figures out she's pretty darn tech savvy herself. She wants in on a special project he's working on. So he does just that..makes things happen. It's not until she uncovers some things he's been working on for awhile that put them in danger.
Claudia McCoy has no idea why Trey Adler is following her, but quickly finds out and doesn't like it. She's a big girl. She can take care of herself. But he's the first one to actually let her show how helpful she can be if given the chance. He is also the first person who really cares about her..
When a blast from Trey's past puts them into the danger he has a choice to make. It's a tough choice. So what will he do?
Wonderful book. Full of passion, excitement, touching moments. You won't be able to put it down. Highly recommend all the books in the series.
Advanced copy given by the author in exchange for an HONEST review.
Another visit to the Burgh this time with Claudia and Trey in A Steel Town. These characters have become so familiar to the reader through Chloe's words. Claudia has moved to Pittsburgh in deference to her career. She's been assigned to the Pittsburgh field office of the FBI (also where her big brother is the head quarterback for the pro team).
Trey has somewhat settled into being a more "tied" down person by attaching friends to his loner self. Is it enough to want to stay in one place or is there something or really someone else missing? As a freelance consultant to the feds, he has occasion to work side by side with none other than Claudia.
I have to say that their chemistry is palpable and playful. I really connected with them thorough out the stories entirety. I found myself riveted to the development of their relationship. Challenges ( both personal and professional), a case developing and a killer are to be found, Claudia and Trey were electric.
A Steel Town is #3 in the Gateway to Love by Chloe Barlow. Trey has been one of the characters I have loved all along as the mysterious tatted and pierced computer genius . Well, now I am in love with him. A Steel Town takes you back to Trey’s childhood and what made him the way he is. You meet Claudia in City of Champions (#2) as she is Wyatt’s sister. Wyatt and the rest of her family have always treated her as breakable as she has suffered from severe diabetes since childhood, and Trey is not on Wyatt’s good side. Claudia is a FBI agent trying to prove her medical condition does not limit her abilities to be a great agent without anyone’s help. These two come together and the chemistry between Trey and Claudia is amazing, but Trey’s past holds him back. Can Trey overcome his past and can Claudia accept help. These two are amazing and this is my favorite of the Gateway to Love series. Chloe Barlow never disappoints. Loved this story!!!
Would Trey ever find happiness? Would his antics or job keep him from being happy? After Shanghai, he was determined to find the answers to A.J.'s disappearance. As Jenna's friend, he agreed to watch over Wyatt's sister, Claudia who recently became part of the F.B.I. What he never expected to happen was falling in love with her and putting her life in danger!! She was out to prove to all that she was a good asset to the team especially since her family was worried about her dependence on her insulin pump. Working with Trey was wonderful and aggravating at the same time for her. The last thing she needed was an overprotective partner after dealing with her brother Wyatt! This story was mesmerizing and kept me reading to the point of staying up all night! Lots of surprises, danger, kidnapping, threats, wrong decisions and finally the HEA!!! Another great story by Chloe!!!!
I enjoyed following Trey and Claudia's adventures. Claudia is Wyatt's younger sister, and an FBI agent and wants to do more than just simple desk work. Jenna asks Trey to watch out for Claudia since she's new to the office. Trey gets Claudia on the case he's working on. As they dig deeper into what is really going on things start to change around them. There are lots of twists and turns with where the case takes them. You learn that sometimes though it may be hard you have to open your heart again and hope that you won't get hurt again. Just because you try to push the person away doesn't mean its always the best way to deal with not getting hurt again. Open your heart and try to love those that want to love you.
Chloe Barlow's books just get better and better. Not only is she able to write hot romances; she deals with real life issues in her books. The dialogue is realistic and I enjoy the bantering between Trey and Claudia. As the book is due to release in a few days, my advice to readers is to read the novella, Shanghai Wind so you are able to keep pace when the action and suspenseful portion of the book starts. I thought Jenna was my favorite character in her books but Claudia's strength and grit surpasses many female characters I have read about. And Trey... What can I say? I am not much of a fan of body ink but boy, do I want to see a real-life Trey after reading this book. :) A definite TBR for 2016.
I've read these books in order (not necessary but recommended) and all the characters are interesting in their own way and together they make an outstanding group of friends to read about. Trey and Claudia's budding relationship added a whole new dimension to things that happened in the past that I hadn't seen coming. So...INGRIGING...
I enjoyed the medical twist that was included in this book which provided another layer to the story and public awareness of a common medical condition.
Like all the previous couples in this series, Trey and Claudia have their issues to overcome but once they achieve that watch out...STEAMY. As an added twist, these two are knee deep in technical computer hacking knowledge that could destroy everything.
Chloe Barlow is back to her original strands of mystery and intrigue tied with a smart romance in A STEEL TOWN.
We finally get sexy Trey's story. We got to know Trey really well in CITY OF CHAMPIONS as he befriended Jenna. I was dying to get to know our mysterious, tattooed computer genius. And I was not disappointed. But I'll get back to Trey.
If you've read THREE RIVERS and CITY OF CHAMPIONS- and you need to if you haven't - you know that Chloe writes strong, smart women. Well for me - Claudia was a favorite. Claudia is Wyatt's little sister. She not only lives with his shadow looming large but she also lives with diabetes and is insulin dependent. Unfortunately, her illness played a role in her career, by keeping her from the fast paced world of the FBI she was expecting and thrusting her into a desk job at a field office in Pittsburgh.
This is where she meets Trey. Of course she meets Trey largely because Jenna asked him to keep an eye on her. When Trey realizes how smart Claudia is- he adds her to his team to find out more on Jack Taylor's murder case. What he doesn't expect is to start to fall for her.
But Trey has been hurt in love. And he's lost that love - a love that reminds him a lot of Claudia. And Claudia is this strong woman who wants to prove herself. So the question is - will these two get out of their own ways and let themselves love fully?
I did find myself getting frustrated with Trey but that speaks to Chloe's style of making her books realistic. And anyone that has ever liked a man knows that they are frustrating as hell. In that regard- Trey does not disappoint! But Claudia remains a great match for him.
This is a really good book. I'll admit it took me a little bit to get into it. I felt the beginning moved a little slow for me after a strong start in the prologue. But once I got into the meat of the story- it was fast paced and interesting.
Chloe Barlow definitely writes strong characters and weaves an interesting story in all her books. A STEEL TOWN is no different and was a really good read. Definitely check out the whole series or you'll be a bit lost here!
I love this book! I love how in depth the author has gone to find out exactly how tedious and manageable Claudia's condition can be, if done right. Also, how scary and dangerous it can get when its not as well. As a mother of a type 1 child I felt every worry with the character and can relate to every single one of them. Each of the overprotective characters I related with, and with the rebellious nature of Claudia as well for wanting to be treated normal. It's not that much to ask and Claudia and Trey were fighting for it and their lives throughout this book. I loved it so much! While there are some things that threw me off, I must say, it seems Claudia's rebellion also put her in unnecessary positions that could have been avoided by trying to hide it, although I felt her anguish at not being treated with respect and dignity because of her medical needs. I got a little flustered myself when my own protective nature came out when she was being bullheaded about it, but I guess that's just the mother in me trying to get out for a character who needed a reality check. ( I know, I got a little far into the book than is normal but I do that when I am into a book and can relate, it's a new world for some but a daily battle for my family and my son and the author described it so well it was "real" to me. I cried out in frustration for Claudia, Trey, and got so angry at Lexis and kept getting irritated with the needle pulling when that could have been fixed with the wireless pump but it's not for everyone.) 5 stars from this type 1 mom for a enthralling story, and thank you for writing it! It was amazing and so informative for those who know nothing at all about the condition. I highly recommend this book!!
My favorite quote in this book: "A delicious mouthful. I've been wanting to bite your butt, since the day I met you."
Oh yes!! I squealed! Love it!

This book was well written however, personally I found it to be very confusing and hard for me to get through. A lot was happening. The more I read, the more I understood what was going on. There was definitely lots of action in this book. A Steel Town is part of a series and we see some characters from previous books along with some new characters. Trey is my favorite character in this series and was happy to see that this book was all about him and his life. In this volume, we find out about how Trey's heart was broken while he was in college. The book explains what happened between him and his girlfriend at that time A.J.
Trey ends up helping out the FBI with the case against David Murphy. Trying to find out who bribed him to steal sensitive, and valuable, robotics work. He gets paired up with Claudia and they get very close working side by side for many weeks. Trey tries to keep his distance from the sweet, innocent Claudia aka Agent McCoy aka Wyatt's little sister but she's not so innocent after all and seduces Trey. Eventually he trusts her enough and realizes he needs to inform her about another case he is working on called Lexis. When Trey realizes there is a mile in the FBI and Claudia's life may be in danger, they go on the run.
Favorite quotes for me were
"Maybe it's called falling in love because sometimes someone catches you, but if they don't, you simply crash down on the pavement. I'm here to catch you." "You need to catch me, too."
And
"You and I both know I'm never going to be stupid enough to let you out of my sight ever again, so we might as well make sure the rest of the world knows it too, right? What I mean is you're my home, and I want you to be my home forever."
This book does not end in a cliffhanger however, it does go hand in hand with with the previous book Shanghai Wind.
I literally couldn't wait to get my hands on this book and read it. So I was so happy I got the chance to review it. This is one of those series I have been addicted to ever since I read the first book that brought me to tears. I will admit that I missed out on reading the novella and still haven't read it yet. I will say this though you can read these books as stand alones. I don't think you'd be to confused. But you may want to read them in order to get a better understanding of what's going on. And the dynamics of everyone's relationships.
We finally get to have Trey and Claudia's book. I feel like I've been waiting forever to get to this book. We meet Trey in Tea and Griffin's book. And than got to meet Claudia in Jenna and Wyatt's book.
I have to say I was really happy Trey was getting his own book. Even though we got to meet and see him in the previous books. He was still that kind of dark and mysterious person. The one you really want to get to know better and find out more about. I really liked getting to know Trey better and finding out who he was.
I really liked Claudia in this book. At the beginning I was a little afraid I wasn't going to like her, she kind of annoyed me at the beginning. But I found as the book went on I started liking her more.
I really enjoyed this book and liked how it seemed to pick up. It was nice seeing familiar other characters from the series.
I'm giving this book 4.5 stars out of 5!!!!
***I received an arc of this book from Between The Sheets Promotions for my honest review***
Based on the synopsis, I was really prepared to love this book. I mean, the heroine is dealing with diabetes and people's treatment of her because of it. And Trey had that sweet bad boy thing going on. But it kind of let me down.
The writing was one of the disappointing thing. It was stilted and didn't always make sense. And every character had a nickname. This isn't horrible, but the constant switching between real names and nicknames which was confusing. I regularly found myself distracted and not paying attention.
Generally, I liked Claudia and Trey. I didn't really have any issues with Trey. My only complaint is that he's a little too protective. Claudia is likeable and feisty. But she want to be taken seriously when she constantly makes bad decisions with her diabetes. You can't have it both ways. Her past also wasn't as developed as it could've been. Maybe it would have been better if I read her brother's book, but I shouldn't have to.
This was a little bit of a suspense read which isn't my favorite. But there wasn't a lot of danger boner which I appreciated. I can't promise I will read another Chloe Barlow book, but I am mildly interested in the other characters so it might happen.
I am giving Chloe T. Barlow book A Steel Town 5 stars. This book was given to me in an ARC in exchange for a honest review. Claudia McCoy finally about to get everything she ever wanted in life. She so happy that her brother has finally found the woman he has always wanted, but now his girlfriend is including Claudia in her circle of family friends, so not only is she about to start her FBI career in Pittsburgh, but she is also gaining more family and she about to meet the love of her life. Yes at first she didn't like Trey in fact she couldn't stand him. I mean she is a woman she seen how sexy he was with all his tattoos, but she also knew there was smugness to him. Trey sees how gorgeous Claudia is she turns out to be something he was not expecting. He already hates Claudia brother so he was expecting to hate her because he thought she was some spoil princess, but she changes his mind real quick when he sees how sexy and smart she is. In the end they find more then happiness with each other they find a love within each other that they never thought they would ever have. Trey feels home with Claudia he feels complete with her and she feels the same with him. If you have not read this series please go grab it. You will absolutely love all these books.
I received an arc for an honest review. This was Claudia and Trey's story. Claudia has grew up with juvenile diabetes. She doesn't tell everyone. One part I liked is when she went to a party and Jenna, who is Claudia's brothers girlfriend, helps her out when she starts to feel bad. I think it is great to have that closeness in a friendship. This story helped me learn more about juvenile diabetes. I personally understand not wanting people to know about I'll medical condition that may make people actually or treat you different than everybody else.
Jenna, of course being a great friend, ask her friend Trey to watch her out for Claudia. This is where the part that started to lose me, because I am not into techy type things. I thought there was a lot of information after Claudia and Trey started being around each other. I honestly didn't think all the information was needed and then of course the story goes on and I realize all the things before make total sense.
I enjoyed reading this book. There was friendship, love, family, enemies, killers, and some unexpected surprises.
Nothing like being on public transportation trying not to cry cause the need will bring you to tears. Happy ones that is.
You see Trey in her other books and think he's a touch cookie but under all the gruff exterior he is such an amazing sweetheart. Poor Claudia has had to fight for everything good in her life and as soon as you think she is going to give up she kicks herself in the ass and goes for it. These two are such a complement to each other it makes you not want to stop reading to see what happens next. And of course what Chloe Barlow book wouldn't be without a snippet of Pittsburghese. I love when she does that.
If you've read the other books in the Gateway to Love series, this is a must read. If you haven't, what are you waiting for? Go purchase them.
Oh, wow! Talk about a book taking you from calm to sad to frantic to loving to absolute loneliness, this book does it all. From the "glory" of the FBI to working with someone who "bends" the rules, and all the options in between, Claudia shares her emotions. If you want a smooth read, this is not for you.
From history to mystery to real life drama, A Steel Town captures it all! My emotions were in turmoil! About the time you think you can't take it any more, something else happens. This book is constantly going from one situation to the next with every emotion in chaos at some point.
I loved this book! It kept me interested and involved with the characters the whole way through. Gosh! Is there ever a happy ever after??
This is the third book in the series and focused on Claudia (the younger of Wyatt from book 2) and mysterious, rule-breaker Trey. Both Claudia and Trey are geniuses in computer hacking but Claudia was the rule-abiding FBI agent while Trey was a renegade. This book was a mixture of romance and suspense as both Claudia and Trey tried to figure out the criminal group that led to the death of Althea’s husband (from book 1). Trey was older and very protective of Claudia but at the same time kept sending her mixed signals. I liked that Claudia took matters in her own hands and fought for herself. She was a tough bumble bee who knew what she wanted. This book was less focused on the romance compared with the earlier two books.
A little bit long, not the pages, the line because only one line. Trey felt guilty about his past, lost AJ then the people he loves. He was an angry man but always in loyal for someone who is his friends, that's he chasing the hints of Tea's deceased husband case.
Claudia was sickness since she was 8, what she did were reach her limit, that's she went to FBI training n be the special agent. She is ambiguous to being a great agent.
That's the only line, everything around the line n feel little bit long since there is nothing. Compared with the pervious, the attractive is going down, three rivers still my love, the concept, the theme, the meaning of three rivers, it's great.
Reading A Steel Town is everything I expected! Chloe Barlow gives readers an exciting, adventurous read about two characters, Trey and Claudia, who capture your heart before the end of the first chapter!
In bringing Trey and Claudia together Ms Barlow weaves a story full of fire, passion, intense action, understanding, misunderstanding, acceptance and love. No two people belong together more than Claudia and Trey, but Ms Barlow doesn't make it easy for these two people to find their way to each other. Their journey is fraught with tension, anxiety, fear, risks and seemingly insurmountable obstacles...a true page turner!
This third book from Chloe was her best yet! The mix of suspense, intrigue, romance and the the perfect amount of sexiness make this book amazing! The chemistry between Trey and Claudia starts as soon as they meet and continues strongly throughout the book. I absolutely LOVED the care and concern Trey had for Claudia. He's a pretty swoon worthy guy! And Claudia, her strength and determination to succeed really stood out to me. Add in the appearance of characters from the previous books that we all love, and you have a fantastic book! Can't wait for what's next!
