Eighty six thousand, four hundred seconds. One thousand, four hundred and forty minutes. Twenty four hours. One day. In his twenty five years of life DeMatteo Santiago had often taken for granted how much could change in a single Day. When DeMatteo crawled into bed at 10:30 pm on May 7th, 1980 there was no way of knowing how the next twenty four hours would forever alter his life. As a young Alpha lion shifter DeMatteo has left his pride, in search of his mate, and a pride of his own. But the fates have been conspiring for centuries to lead him to this precise moment in time. May 8 1980, 10:30 pm, a moment in time that will forever change the life of Matthew (DeMatteo) Santiago. Facing the challenges of being the new Alpha of the largest pride in the United States, DeMatteo must find a way to lead in the face of his own personal tragedy.
These are the titles that inspire and influence my life. I am a New York native that now resides in Lake Ariel Pennsylvania. Writing and story telling has been my constant passion since childhood.
I believe in love in all its forms and that everyone deserves their happy ending.
This prequel to Beyond A Reasonable Doubt details the deaths of DeMatteo’s parents and how he came to be the alpha of this lion shifter pride. It also introduces the reader to the shifter with whom DeMatteo has a fifteen year long relationship, an abused man named Hugh. It is here that I started having issues. Hugh had some kind of horrid past in his pride in Ireland, but it is simply referenced in vague terms for the majority of the book. By the time the details were revealed, I was pretty much past caring, I must admit.
This novella provides a great many details that fill in the holes contained in Beyond a Reasonable Doubt, so it is necessary for full understanding of book one. That said, characters are only really glimpsed, and I couldn’t really connect with them. I did enjoy getting a stronger understanding of the human coven, and it gave me greater empathy for what happens with Hugh when DeMatteo calls things off. DeMatteo and Hugh have strong chemistry, and that added points for this novella, as well. If you do or have read book one, you will want to read this to truly understand and fill in the plot holes.

This novella is a prequel in the Doubt Series involving paranormal Lion Shifters, witches, and humans. This lays out the beginning life of DeMatteo Santiago, a lion shifter, the Alpha of the biggest Shifter Pride in North America, and a well known lawyer in the human world. DeMatteo is gay and has yet to find his true mate. After his parents are killed, he becomes the Alpha and is responsible for his siblings and the other Shifters in the Pride Lands. Twenty years later DeMatteo meets another shifter who came over from Ireland. DeMatteo's uncle, the Alpha Apex, has arranged for Hugh to join their pride and over time the two become companions. But DeMatteo with his lion continues to look for his true mate. This is a part of the story which is probably best to be read after book 1, 'Beyond a Reasonable Doubt' to really understand the groundwork of a great story. The story line is strong and the main characters are well developed leading into the main part of the story. I loved this story/series and if you love MM paranormal you will definitely love this. Travel this journey with the characters as a great love evolves.
Erasing All Doubt is a prequel to the Doubt Series. I read it before starting the rest of the series, but you can also read it after finishing book one, to get better insights in the characters – it probably works best that way, but I enjoyed getting to know the character’s history prior to starting the first book too.
DeMatteo, the main character, is a lion shifter, and Alpha to the largest pride in the United States. The novella chronicles how he meets Hugh; another shifter orginally from Ireland, a man hiding some horrible secrets related to his past. It’s a solid introduction to the series, and if you’ve finished book one and still have some questions, it helps fill up explain some of the character’s histories and connections.
I have to start off by saying that this book has one of the hottest scenes I’ve seen Johnson write. Man. There’s a sex scene in here that blew me away, and I find myself lingering on that because it was hot and had story: the best of both worlds. It was a nice trip through DeMatteo’s life, an interlude between the two biggest changes in his life--and it also set up Hugh, Sara, and other characters we see in the other Doubt books. This is probably my favorite of the three.

"Erasing All Doubt" is the prequel to "Beyond A Reasonable Doubt". It gives us DeMatteo and Hugh's background. We get to see how DeMatteo becomes the alpha he is today, as well as glimpses of Timothy and Carla's matings. While the sex scenes between DeMatteo and Hugh seem weird, since we know what is to come, it gives us some insight into how Hugh became so delusional. While it wasn't as good as the first two books in the series I found it interesting. I received this book in exchange for an honest review
Sex, mystery, and romance. This book has all three in abundance. I was riveted from the get go. I love shifter romances and the mystery surrounding this one adds a bite to the tale.
I give this 4 out of 5 clouds and a chili pepper rating of 7, for several explicit scenes. Not suitable your those under 18 years of age.
Don't forget to return for reviews of books 1 and 2.

Erasing All Doubt is a prequel to the Doubt Series and I feel should be read first. I did love this short easy to read book. I can't wait to read the next book. I recommend this book. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
