**This is a hot, steamy, sexy and seductive romance series that is ideal for fans of J.S. Scott, Cassie Cross and Hannah Ford.**
The love story between Mason and Harper is so amazing. There are so many twists and turns that each book in the series keeps you waiting anxiously for the next. Ellie has so much suspense that I could not stop reading. I truly loved these two and could not wait to see how their love story played out. The sex, story, suspense, and thrill is excellent. I cannot wait for the next series.
Originally, I had read part one of this series, and was left hanging until I could read the rest. Cliff hangers are really not my preferred way of reading a story, so when the boxed set came available, I was ecstatic, as I had enjoyed the first part so much. Ms. Danes has a way of taking what most might think as normal, and creating an extraordinary set of circumstances that, when put together, send you off to another world. I'm a real sucker for a love story, and this one was right up my alley. What more could you ask for but an alpha hunky billionaire and the stuck in a rut beautiful woman who can't seem to get a break when it comes to men? Mason has been stung too many times in the love department, always the provider, never the recipient, even though he is the owner of a prosperous matchmaking business for the rich and unlucky in love. Able to find matches for his clients, but never seeming to be able to heed his own advice. Harper sure knows how to pick them...all liars and cheats, and only out for what they can get from her, and her last "boyfriend" is no different. She's kicked him to the curb and is hauled out on a night on the town with her bestie and roommate to try and get out of her funk. Little did she know just how much her life was going to change when her and Avery are approached by a couple, inviting them to a "mixer" that evening. Awesome read, and leaving me anxious to read Avery's story next. Well done!
Ellie Danes is one of those incredible writers that once you start reading her novella's you can't seem to get enough of them. The Matchmaker Series was sheer brilliance from beginning to end, pure literary genius.
It Takes Two Book 1: This book is about Harper and she ends up going to this Mansion with her best friend to attend a Mixer and things just get crazy from there. The owner Mason Asher who just goes by Asher to everyone else seems to take a liking to Harper. The story evolves pretty quickly the two have a major connection and the author does a great job painting the picture. The chemistry that comes across with these two is just amazing, the story has so many twists it will keep you on the edge of your seat.
It Takes Two Book 2: The Matchmaker Series is absolutely amazing! The story between Mason Asher and Harper Browing is sinfully delicious! Ellie does such a great job of painting the picture and setting the scene at the mansion and chemistry between Mason and Harper is absolutely explosive I mean it practically leaps off of the page. Ellie has this magical way of including the reader in the story and it makes you feel like your along for the ride and as a reader that is exactly what I look for I want to be so lost in the story that I forget everything around me and that is exactly what is achieved with this series. There is so much suspense and drama in this novella that I was on the edge of my seat and biting my nails the entire time! And goodness was it steamy I mean hot and steamy I am pretty sure at one point my glasses would have fogged up if I hadn't taken them off!
It Takes Two Book 3: I feel like each book just seems to get better and better! I absolutely love this series I am so hooked on it!
I wish it hadn't ended so quick I wanted it to keep going but the story line was absolutely amazing! It picks up with Mason chasing after Harper despite what rejections and negative feedback from his friends/co-workers. This book was incredibly hot and passionate the chemistry between Harper and Mason is sinfully delicious! This book is one of those that keeps you so absorbed in the story line that you do not even realize that time is passing around you! It is a must read you will love this series!
It Takes Two Book 4: The Matchmaker Series has turned out to be one of the best series that I have read in a while!
Ellie Danes does an amazing job of painting the picture and creating a connection between the reader and the characters and making you feel like you are a part of the story and along for the ride. Book 4 picks up where 3 left off Harper has left the mansion and on her way home fantasizing about her fantasy with Mason. The chemistry between the two of them seems to just flow and almost leap off of the page it is so hot and steamy! Harper finally makes it to her apartment and has a run in with her Ex Jake and guess who comes to her rescue none other than our resident hottie Mason! This story progresses pretty quickly and there are some pretty amazing action sequences in it and its full of drama, suspense, and some hot and steamy romance, Ellie Danes can definitely write a story line that will keep you on the edge of your seat!
It Takes Two Book 5: Intrigued was probably a great word to start with when I first began to read the series but it has definitely migrated beyond that at this point. Ellie Danes is a magnificent writer that can paint a picture and weave a tale together to give you this amazing story and show you these characters and set the scene. I love the way she is able to build a story that involves a reader so much so that you feel like you are apart of the story and you connect with each of the characters. This series is full of suspense, drama, romance, and some hot and steamy action, it is definitely not for the faint of heart that is for sure! This installment of the book finds Harper in a different situation she has decided to start working at the mansion and she has decided to give the relationship a go with Mason. I'm going to stop here and not give any more details *insert sigh* its a short installment which you will get through pretty quickly and I do not want to ruin it for you. I will say there are a few twists and turns and you like awe come on and ready for the next installment.
It Takes Two Book 6: This was the final installment int he Matchmaker Series and I was sad to see it come to a close but the series itself was stunning for lack of a better word. It has been full of Suspense, Drama, Sex, it is very fast paced and complex, full of surprises and keeps you on the edge of your seat the entire time. Ellie Danes has this amazing talent for including the reader to make them feel like they are apart of the story and takes them along on the journey as the story line progresses. This story picks up right where the last installment ends Harper is frantically trying to determine what has happened with Mason and to her dismay Natalie is less than forthcoming with information. Harper is going through a rough time blaming herself for what is going on with Mason and his injuries, it is unclear as to whether Mason and Harper are going to be able to move past this and the events leading up to the current circumstances. I will say this was a quick read but a great read and a fantastic ending to the series!
A good read for people who are in to the series recommend highly can't wait for the next one of the series a really enjoyable read but long still enjoyable must read the next one of the series
SEXY, CAPTIVATING AND DELIGHTFULLY ENTERTAINING Title: It Takes Two Box Set Series: The Matchmaker Series Author: Ellie Danes Reading Platform: Kindle Unlimited My Rating: FIVE SEXY STARS***** The Matchmaker Series was my very first experience with Ellie Danes but once I began reading, I was not only impressed, I was completely hooked! By the end of the first chapter, I was more than a little intrigued by the storyline and characters of It Takes Two. I initially read and reviewed this series under the Kindle Unlimited program when it was originally offered as installments of an ongoing serial and looked forward to each release. Actually, that's an understatement. I could hardly wait for Danes to release each book. In fact, I enjoyed this series so much that I asked if I could be member of her street team. Apparently, this was the first release of her career but I immediately recognized her talent and was eager to jump on the band wagon. Fortunately, you can now read all six books of the series in one convenient bundle. So, that being said, I would very much like to share my original review. The story is exciting, intriguing, imaginative, well crafted, romantic, sensual and arousing. There were a few editing errors but over all the story is well written and the dialogue is well executed and flows beautifully. The characters are captivating, engaging and sexy as sin. Danes skillfully combines these elements to craft an enthralling and intoxicating read. Harper is a 24 year old grad student barely making ends meet on her salary from her part time job at the bar. She has always been able to match up everyone but herself. She's just unlucky in love. Hopefully, this latest breakup fiasco with Jake will teach her a lesson. And now Jake won't leave her alone! He says he's sorry! Yuk! She always falls for the wrong guys. Maybe she's just looking in all the wrong places. And after attending a disastrous mixer with her best friend and roommate Avery, she's even more convinced that she's doomed to always meet the wrong guy. Yep, just cursed never to find love. What Harper couldn't know but hopefully will soon learn, she has been noticed by Mason Asher, the 'big cheese' of matchmakers. He's handsome, charming, wealthy and knows what he wants and usually gets it. And he very much wants Harper to come back to the mansion and is not above coercing her best friend Avery to get what he wants. As a favor to Avery, Harper returns to the mansion or as I like to call it, the lion's den, and Mason finally makes an appearance to introduce himself to the lovely Harper but only as Mason. He very conveniently neglects to tell her that he's the infamous "Asher". Oh my goodness! And now he wants her to work at the mansion but Harper still doesn't know who he really his. And just how does he think he's going to get away with that and not reveal his identity? Whatever his plan, he fails miserably and now he's done the one thing that Harper can never forgive. He's committed the cardinal sin, the colossal no-no of all time - he lied - albeit a lie of omission, it's still a lie to Harper! But is his interest professional or is it personal? I think we all know by now that it's more than just professional but how much more? Can he convince her to forgive him or will her ex-boyfriend Jake finally have his revenge? Hmmm....Well, I guess you'll have to read the series to find out and the entire series is already available! What did I love about this series? Everything! What didn't I like? Not a darn thing! Would I recommend this series? You bet I would! So, if you're looking for a great read, give Ellie Danes a whirl. It's a decision you'll never regret! Fabulous entertainment and an awesome read!
Harper is a part time student and a part time waitress. On an evening out with her roommate, they get invited to a mixer. When they arrive at the mixer they soon discover that it’s a dating service mixer of sorts, think “Millionaire Matchmaker” Patti Stanger. The difference here is that Harper and her roommate have no idea who the person is behind it all.
The owner and orchestrater of it all is Mason Asher. He sits in his office and monitors the cameras while others are in the matchmaking room with the two bachelors/bachelorettes and the potential dating pools. While Mason is watching the action, he is taken with Harper. He puts himself on the floor to meet her at the next mixer but chooses to not tell her the truth about who he is in relations to the company and these mixers. He uses this advantage to get information from Harper and then makes those fantasies come true. Which should be great on the surface but when she finds out that he has deceived her, she is devastated. Trust as in any relationship in a major component and for her, it is just about the most important piece. Mason has made all the classic errors and although as the reader you understand his decision making, you also know that it’s the train wreck waiting to happen.
This is a series of short stories or novellas. I read the box set and honestly had I not read it that way I probably would have quit half way through. As it was I did put it down and walk away for a little while but for those that know me, there are very few books that I don’t finish, it’s like the book haunts me until I finish it. This ended up being a fun quick read and I’m looking forward to more of Ellie Danes books as long as I can get the entire set at once.
Avery and her friend Harper were at a club. Natalie and Hunter walkup to them and asked if they would like to go to a mixer. Avery says sure and drags Harper with her. When they got there it wasn't really what they expected. Harper is manhandled by one of the men there and leaves abruptly but Natalie tells them they will get the money for them showing up. Natalie insists they come back the next night.
Mason really want to meet Harper so he was hoping that she would come back tonight. Valerie her friend shows up without Harper. Mason tells Natalie to tell Valerie she can't come in without Harper. Valerie calls Harper and tells her to get down there. Harper meets Mason. The two seem to hit it off but Harper thought she had dreamed the whole previous night. Harper goes to see Mason they talk and he told her he wanted to film her like she would be a client. As she was in her car leaving he saw the car that had been sitting on the rode taking off after her.
Mason and Harper get together again this time more intimately. Natalie asked Mason when he was going to tell Harper who he really was just not now. Finally Mason gets caught in his own lies and Harper finally finds out about Mason. He was going to tell her that very night but, didn't have a chance. Harper was devastated and went home for her ice cream. She felt like hell as yet another man lied to her that she had feeling for again. She goes back to work at the bar Mason goes in to tell her he loves her. She rejects him and tells him to leave. Next thing she knows is that someone saying some guy was on the ground by his fancy car. Harper is upset she feels nothing would of happened if he wasn't at the bar.. Will Harper ever see Mason again?
I just couldn't stay interested in this book. It's not my cup of tea or coffee. I tried to keep reading but kept losing interest and my mind wandered so quit reading about half way through.
The premise of this series is what really intrigued me. The storyline was great and was written so well that I was convinced that Patti from Millionaire Matchmaker (or someone with similar characteristics) was going to make a cameo appearance. No such luck lol. However, I didn't really connect to the plot. The pacing, for one, didn't make it realistic to me. It was hard for me to accept that Jake, the man who told Harper not to let the door hit her on the way out, then became so obsessed with her as to stalk her and assault Mason. I wasn't sold on this idea. Also, I got upset with the way that Harper grouped Mason in with guys like Jake. He only omitted his last name and the fact that he was wealthy. And any fool would have put two and two together. She should have been mad with herself. On top of that, when she suspected he may have been hurt, she did nothing!! Not cool!! Why was she calling anyone else but him????
In the end, it was a good story with huge potential to be great!
I really enjoyed each character and their back stories, it is so very true that each of us are affected by all of the events, whether good or bad that we have to go through and deal with. It is also very true that we all can learn from them and know that these happenings make us who we are. No matter what happens in our lives we can do just like Mason and Harper did by taking back our control and find a way to be happy and know that we are worthy of being loved. Thanks for the great read, Ellie!
I loved this book so much I couldn't put it down till the end. I wanted more when it was over and checked the Authors website to see when the next parts in the series will release.
This story was very sensual and interesting. The way they made a business out of matchmaking and the way they went about doing it was different than anything I've ever heard of before. It made the whole thing a lot more exciting.
I can't wait for the continuation of the series and who will be matched next!
****I received this ARC in exchange for an honest Review.****
This story was kind of sweet. It wasn't quite what I expected. I didn't fall in love with Mason. If you want the kind of love story without a lot of depth, this is for you. There were a lot of missed opportunities for some suspense, with the ex and his girlfriend. Light reading. The only characters that I really liked were side characters. I liked Natalie and Avery, both were friends of the main characters.
Well this matchmaker met his match with Harper. This is a charming romance with some big bumps along the way. Mason is smooth and charming but has bad luck in love. Harper is sweet and trusting but gets her heart broken a lot. I love reading about this couple, it is a wonderful series.
This book failed on both character development and, if being read for "sexiness", it fails on that account as well - these scenes being sparse and lacking in overall imagination. I found several grammatical and spelling errors, which were distracting as well. Definitely not a great read.
I was a little disappointed in the book. Not that it didn't have what it takes to be a great story, but it didn't catch me like I thought it would. It seemed almost drawn out for the main characters. They just didn't get me excited. I guess this is just me looking, pushing, wanting more from a story that I felt this didn't deliver.
I don't believe I've read anything from Ms. Danes. I am impressed with her writing, it flows very easily and is very entertaining! I can't wait to read something else that she's published.
This book series definitely starts off differently but prove to be intriguing. I did like hearing sides from both parties and keeps the suspense going. I didn't want to put them down until I finished the series!
Not a particularly exciting read the storyline was a little flat. I did not find the main characters very interesting the chemistry between them did not come through in the writing I going this somewhat mediocre.
I chose this rating because this is a great series. I didn't really agree with the way Asher could hear the conversations of the other people. Overall I enjoyed the series. I was also happy that the matchmaker found true love. I recommend this book to all romance readers.
I really liked this book. Harper and Mason were perfect for one another. This book had everything for a romance . Boy meets girl. Girls jealous ex causes trouble. Boy and girl break up then make up. What more do you need? Lol
This book a long time ago as individual segment, but never did a full review for them. It's a really entertaining story, that had me wondering and laughing. I re-read it again as the boxed set, purchase it so much easier.
Very good story. A little not to the author..several times in the book you wrote "passed" and it should have been "past". Passed is the past tense of pass... other than those kinds of errors ... good storyline. I enjoyed it.
Needs editing. Missing words. Misspelled words. All detracts from the story. There is no safe sex in this book. Not even a mention of a condom, let alone the use of one.
