When he falls in love, he loves too hard

New York ist anders als alles, was Landon bisher kannte.

I was sent an ARC copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
I tried again and again to read this book but I just can't stand it any longer. This is my first time reading a book by Anna Todd and it will probably be my last. Her writing just reads like a fanfiction, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but it doesn't even read like a good fanfiction, just a mediocre one. This book has the most ridiculous love triangle that I couldn't be more uninterested in. Landon's main love interest Dakota is one of the most annoying and controlling bitches I've ever read about in a book. She's the kind of girl who will happily leave him because she thinks she deserves better but then will get irrationally jealous and crazy when he gets with a new girlfriend and will try and get him back just to prove she's the best.

All the characters are annoying and one dimensional and I didn't relate to any of them and this book is entirely focused on this really ridiculous, over the top love triangle. I honestly went into this book with an open mind and was hoping I would like it, but I didn't. I've been picking this book up and putting it down again for a month now and I'm done trying. I just didn't like it and I don't have anything else left to say about it.

OPD!! OPD!! OPD!

NO! NO!

No tendrán problemas.
Es diferente a After?

3 Mr. Landon’s choices Stars

This is my first Anna Todd book. Nothing More is a spinoff from the After series. The After series is based on Tessa, who is Landon’s roommate. Nothing More is the first book in the Landon Gibson series. First off, I love series, I love them because it always leaves me wanting more and I LOVE that feeling. If you don’t, then you should because there’s nothing like finishing a book and realizing there’s more to come!

This is a love triangle book and it’s angst filled. Usually I cringed on those two things, but I knew this prior to getting into the read. There’s something about getting prepped before a read that just makes me understand the book better.

The book is about Landon, his ex-girlfriend Dakota and Tessa’s friend Nora. There are a lot of mixed reviews on this book and I’m not sure how different the book is from the Wattpad version. To me the book feels polished and edited. I didn’t have trouble following the story and I could understand the characters.

I would say Landon is the typical young male. The book is 100% from his POV and I will admit at times it seems like his POV sounds more on the feminine side, but I think that’s just the author getting her feet wet in writing from a male POV. It wasn’t distracting, it’s just that I am use to alpha male characters. Landon isn’t that. But his flaws are endearing.

He and Dakota dated but they moved apart and now they are in the same city again. They remain friends. Nora is the pretty new girl making moves on Landon and he doesn’t know how to feel about this. She’s beautiful and very forward, very different from what we read as a Heroine.

At the same time Dakota wants Landon back and she more or less pees on him to claim him. A lot of reviewers were very angry with Dakota because lets face it, she’s the villain in the book, BUT I am different. The meaner the villain the more I like it. Yes, Dakota is immature, dramatic and selfish. Why would Landon want to be with her?

It kind of feels like one of that reality TV shows and you question why the guy is still with that girl, well it comes down to one thing, Landon is whipped. Dakota has him wrapped around her bratty finger and Landon is stuck.

I believe as the series progresses it will be about Landon trying to break free from Dakota’s finger and truly manning up.

This book is for the tortured readers. The ones that crave love triangles, angst filled drama and tortuous dialogue.

If like me, you're a huge fan of the After series, you're already very familiar with our main character - Landon Gibson. Landon is Tessa's best friend and Hardin's step brother. He's knows as being the nice guy, the guy you can always count on. At the end of the After series fans learn that years down the line Landon marries, but readers were left scratching their heads at the question of WHO. Nothing More is Landon's journey to finding love and ultimately his Happily Ever After.

New to New York and still nursing a broken heart from his high school girlfriend - Dakota, Landon is just trying to find where he fits in here. Sure he's got his college courses, a job, and a couple friends to occupy his time, but Landon is lonely. Good thing he's got a few girls vying for his attention, including Dakota!

As an Anna Todd fan I was HIGHLY anticipating Landon's story. And while I did like this book, it certainly wasn't love as it had been with Hardin and Tessa's books. I'm not quite sure Landon is up to being the leading man of his own series in all honesty. His daily life was repetitive and for lack of a better word, boring. Then there would be some really amazing scenes where Landon would loosen up a bit and be (in true Landon fashion) weirdly awkward but somehow sexy and I loved that! So while there were some really great moments, I needed more of them.

Nevertheless, I WILL be first in line to get my hands on Nothing Less because I HAVE to know who Landon ends up with! I just love these characters so so much. I feel like they are a part of me. I cried with them, I raged with them, I laughed with them, and I will be with them till the end. If you're a fan of the After series I of course recommend reading Nothing More .

*Thank you to the publisher for sending me a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.*

Landon.

We all remember the adorable Landon from Tessa and Hardin's books.
He was the best friend, the brother, the nice guy, the good guy.

He's a happy guy. He's always been this guy.
Happy in his life. He loves his world. He loves his mom. He's happy.

Now he's in New York to go to University to become a elementary teacher - again, a job for the good, nice, perfect guy.

He's living with his almost-step-sister-in-law Tessa - who's still grieving over her break-up with Hardin.

But Landon is not happy. His long-time girlfriend Dakota broke up with him to be a carefree single in NYC while going to dance school.

And now poor Landon is just going to school and working at a coffee shop.
Every day exactly the same. He doesn't really know what to do with himself. Especially on his days off.

And what about his love life? It doesn't exist.
But there are a few girls interested - his ex Dakota included!!!!

What will happen with Landon and...?
Will there be a HEA?
Or will there be a horrible Cliffy?

I'm not telling you that of course ☺ ☺

Oy Landon

I was sooo looking forward to more from Anna Todd - and since I'm so not a wattpad reader, I'm happy that the book is here now.
And I didn't like it!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ok, that's not really true. But almost.

I don't know what happened here.
It was so boring and ... subtle? Maybe it was too subtle and I just didn't get it? That could be the answer.

I loved Landon in #Hessa's books and now he's here on his own. He could tell us all this amazing story about how he found real love in New York.
But what he does is... NOTHING! (Probably why Anna named the books Nothing More and Nothing Less! ☺)

Since the nothing part is already covered in the title, I should've probably expected it.
But I had so much hope for Landon.
But he's literally doing NOTHING!
He's walking around New York, drinking coffee and thinking and talking like a little boy of 9 playing grown-up in the big city.
It was all so very weird and uneventful and, yup, BORING!
But unlike so many other readers, I didn't want to give up. I still had hope - and this is a 2-book-story, so I will not give up that hope yet. ☺

And it did get better. ☺
There was some action and interesting stuff.
There's even a kiss here and there.

description

The story is supposed to be some kind of love triangle thing. I hate those.
But it's not really a triangle thing. Landon is just too vanilla to be in a triangle.
He doesn't know how to say no to one girl and he doesn't know how to say yes to the other.

It's all a bit like eating mashed potatoes without salt & nutmeg :/ Like watching vanilla ice cream melt to a slow death. I think Anna herself explains Landon best in the book:

...women go through a period of trial and error with the hot bad boys, but eventually most of them want to trade in the motorcycle for a Prius.
That's me.
The human version of a Prius.

Yup. The Prius is a great car. A nice car. A car that's not hurting the environment. A car that loves his mom and can't wait to play with his new baby sister. ☺☺☺

I think - and please don't be insulted or offended now - the perfectestestet solution for Landon would've been to make him gay.
He already has lots of metro-sexual elements in this book.
So why not make him the most adorable gay person ever. He could be the boyfriend of a hot guy with a hectic job, like a doctor or lawyer. And that lawyer or doctor would be coming home every night to a home-cooked meal, flowers on the table, a foot massage. Saturday mornings would be spent walking through a farmer's market. Sunday roast-dinners at the in-laws.

I think that would've been the best Anna could've done for Landon and the readers.
He's just too spice-less and un-alpha as a straight guy. No offense intended. I still loved him. And the book. But it was just way too bland.

And the end? No cliffy, no sudden thunder and lightning, no alien invasion - just full-stop. And then the Acknowledgments. I really hope book #2 will be amazing and that Landon will find his Happily Ever After with a person who deserves him!!!! And I honestly can't wait to read it, because there HAS to be SOMETHING MORE right??? ☺

NOTHING MORE was so much LESS than I expected. ☹
But of course I still loved Landon and I'm very hopeful that his 2nd book will be amazing!!!
Run to your nearest amazon for your own dose of Landon!!!

I was sent a copy of this book by the publisher
I tried to like this book, I really did. I tried so hard. But I just couldn't.
I read Anna's other book, After, last year and I really hated it. I didn't have extremely high hopes for Nothing More but I did expect a little bit more from this book. It is, in my opinion, miles above After though. I think the writing is a million times better than After but that being said, I still don't like the writing. It still reads like fanfiction but higher quality fanfic. But it's still lackluster and unpolished.
I'm not a fan of love triangles and this book perfectly represents why. It didn't help that I despised the characters involved. Dakota is such an awful person. She's so controlling and mean. I didn't care about the characters at all because they were all so annoying. And yet, I still didn't hate them as much as the characters in After.

Overall, I didn't like this book at all. I'm giving it 2 stars because I do think it's way better than After and I seen a lot of improvement in the writing. I think there is a very particular audience for this type of book and I'm definitely not it. I feel like this book is like trashy reality tv shows. It's not for most people but it's really enjoyable for others.

Când a apărut, am cumpărat-o.
A lipsit scânteia.

3.5 what-in-the-world-are-you-doing-Landon stars

I have no idea where to start with this. I feel so utterly torn. I love this author—I even read her After series back when it was still on Wattpad. But I just couldn't, for the life of me, get into this book a hundred percent. Sadly, I had a very difficult time connecting with it. It certainly had its moments—both good and not so good ones... It was a bit dull and slow moving on the most part; it was a tad too detailed and descriptive the whole time for my liking. Although it did pick up on some parts, it just didn't hold my attention for too long. Given that the whole book is on Landon Gibson's POV, his head seemed like it was always all over the place and easily distracted. And I just didn't like how confused he always was. I know that this could be normal for any character, but the way it was written just didn't come across as much for me.

If you have read Anna Todd's After series, you would've already been introduced to Landon Gibson. He is most definitely not your typical alpha male character. Nope, he's far from it, actually. He's the epitome of Mr. Nice Guy. He's the one who's super sweet and will bend to your every need, every demand. Don't get me wrong, I loved his soft, kind and gentle side, but I just hoped he had a backbone sometimes. It's like he can never say no to anything. He's always getting dragged around by these people like he's a lost puppy and he's just allowing them to do so. I need you to grow up, be more mature and have your own say on things too, Landon. Come on, I know you're so much better than that. And I could only hope and pray that you choose the right girl, because if not, I just might lose my own damn head. I'm getting a slight feeling that you're veering to whom I'm vying for, but with you, I have no guarantees at all. Yup, you really did leave me hanging there.

The love triangle Landon has going on here could've made it more interesting and intriguing, maybe it did a little, but it only made me even more frustrated. Landon is just so perplexed about all of his emotions the entire time. He's been pining for his ex-girlfriend, Dakota, who left him after giving him really crappy reasons for doing so and now he's lusting after a friend, Nora, who thinks they could never work because of their own personal baggages. I'm always on the verge of screaming whenever Landon let Dakota back in, every time he consoled and welcomed her. I get that they've known each other forever, that they had history and all that, but seriously he needs to see things clearer. It was like he was wearing rose-colored glasses all throughout.

And Dakota—my freaking goodness, please don't even get me started with this girl. I was so close to blowing my lid off every time she was in the picture. Or maybe I already have. She infuriated the living daylights out of me. While Nora wasn't perfect either, at the very least, she didn't make me want to strangle her every single time she appeared.

So I'm saying this with a very heavy heart—this book fell short for me. I think I was expecting so much more from Landon's book. Although this is the case, I'm still looking forward to seeing where this story goes and who Landon chooses in the end. And hopefully, there will be lesser dull moments on the next one.

Landon Gibson was the perfect epitome of Mr. Nice Guy. He's been nursing a broken heart for over six months after her childhood best friend and longtime girlfriend, Dakota broke up with him to have an adventure and navigate the big city. With Sophia Nora de Laurentiis, often refer as Nora, showed interest to Landon, the three were caught in a love triangle drama. But when Landon was being fine having Nora around which is much complicated by the way, there's Dakota not wanting him to move forward with anyone else but her.

Dakota's character was so annoying. She's some controlling and jealous kind of ex-girlfriend who wanted to torment Landon, leaving him more confused. When she knew about Nora and Landon, she suddenly wants him back to prove that she's better.

While Landon was too nice thinking he would hurt her even he knew that he felt something more with Nora, he desperately try to be there with Dakota. They have this some undetailed connection and history that was never given some back story which kept me thinking of the why's. If only I was given some snippets of their past, maybe I could forgive and understand her better.

Written in Landon's POV, most of the time I felt like I'm reading a one-dimensional internal monologue of him and one-liner dialogue with the other limited characters involved in this book. The writing style was repetitive and the ending too didn't go quite so well for me. It felt like the readers were put on hold in an abrupt stop rather than on an edge of a cliff, but with that given as an ending, there was still something that intrigued me to read  Nothing Less (like I will unlock a top secret profile type of intrigued).

I was quite excited to read this. I know a lot of people who have read and loved Anna's books and I was thrilled to be able to start with a smaller sized book from a new series...

...but I don't think it's for me.

Landon is in his head a lot. Like a lot a a lot. I usually love boy POV the most, but I couldn't get interested in anything that was going on. Perhaps being familiar with what happens in the other series {since this appears to be a companion of sorts} would have helped.

Everything was so dramatic and that is most of what I didn't care for. Plus I was disappointed in the sparse dialogue. I struggled to root for what Landon was struggling with and ultimately, I didn't care what the outcome was.

Maybe I'll try a different book of Anna's in the future, but this series definitely isn't for me.

**Huge thanks to Gallery books for sending me a finished copy**

So'n bißl nerdig, so'n bißl uncool.... What?

Loooved this. I don’t think there’s any book in the “After” world I wouldn’t like.

Absolutely loved reading from London’s POV, which surprises me a bit as I usually don’t connect well with male POV’s, but this was easy as anything!

Loved learning about new and old characters! Can’t wait to read Nothing Less.

Landon, the stepbrother of Hardin and bestie of Tessa, gets his own series. Running parallel to book 4, Landon and Tessa are roommates in New York City and Landon finds himself in a bit of a love triangle with his ex-girlfriend, Dakota and her roommate, Nora.

I was so glad to not have a couple screaming in one chapter and screwing in another like the After series. But it was filled with a lot of tell and no show and I couldn't really see what Landon saw in either girl because he keeps Tessa on such a pedestal.

2/5⭐

Boring as hell, couldn't even finish it. This is the last time I'll be reading an Anna Todd book.

I was a huge fan of this author after reading the After Series, she has become my addiction. I loved Hardin and Tess dysfunctional relationship, as well as the other minor characters that played a pivotal role in their story. In particular, Landon was a loved character in the series, he was the sensitive best friend of Tess who always came to her rescue when Hardin was behaving like a jerk. Needless to say, I was excited to read this book, but sadly this book was very disappointing. Landon described in this book still had his 'weak' persona in the previous books, but I felt that he did not grow. I got tired of him complaining about why his ex girlfriend left him. Like dude grow the hell up, she left you. Every page was him complaining about how he wanted what was best for her..he still loved her..he will do anything for her..SHUT UP ALREADY!

If that was not enough,I did not really get to know Landon the person. I feel that the author poorly attempted to make him likable but I came to the conclusion that he was only likable when he was around Tessa. Otherwise I felt that this book was not necessary for the most part, the author could have told his story in one of the After series. For instance, she could have had his perspective in a story, but to devote an entire book for him? What a waste of time. I also felt that the story wad rushed and lacked depth as her previous works. There were a few blissful scenes here and there, but it fell flat on many areas.

I hope that we have another book of Zed, he was my favorite character in the series. However, it has to be fully developed, not a lackluster personality like Landon. Otherwise, I will advise the author to concentrate on other characters that will make an impact.

Decent for the most part, but the three stars are very generous of me!

This spin-off from the After series is a great one for the angst readers and the ones that love a good love triangle. Nothing More is about Tessa's roommate Landon.

Landon moves to NY to be close to his girl friend Dakota. Oh my, she is a peach lol. She is a good villain that you also kinda like. Then there is Nora, she is friends with Tessa. My only issue with this triangle was Landon and how wishy-washy he was. He was sooo whipped by Dakota. He also sounded a bit feminine in the way Anna wrote him.

Anna Todd fans are going to love her latest release and I think anyone that hasn't read her but loves a good angsty triangle will enjoy this as well.

ARC in exchange for honest review

When this one comes out I'm planning on changing my "one star for book one" perspective and giving it a second chance and binge reading the series. <3
