The time of Anubis is at hand. Working together against him, the goddess Sirius and the god Orion have helped mankind prepare by uniting Blaze, Conner, Darric, and Aden to fight the evil in the world. But in the war to come, the werewolves will need more allies, and this will extend beyond werewolf kind. Marcus, an ex-Marine who’d lost both his legs in a landmine accident, is now Human Liaison Officer for Blaze's pack. Having lost his lover too when the man couldn’t bear to live with "a cripple", Marcus never expected that he'd fall in love again, let alone with the werewolf Kellan who seemed to be universally hated by the pack. The Winter Circle is moving, and a psychopathic pastor has abducted Nate, one of the wolves from Hunter's pack. For once the wolves cannot rescue him — it has to be a human — and now Marcus must save the wolves from their biggest threat: one of their own. If Marcus succeeds, he will bring in a new era in mankind’s battle against the power of evil, starting with a simple promise and ultimately mending four broken hearts.
Victoria writes about guys loving other guys in between dodging bullets, kidnappers, and serial killers. She enjoys putting them through hell to get their happy ever after—it’s a character flaw she embraces.
She also believes that family is who you choose, that dogs are often much wiser than human beings, and that we’re steadily destroying the world we live in.
And if people read more books, they'd be much happier.
Still love Marcus. I enjoyed this more this time and really look forward to the relationship growth of these four. And sweet Kellan. I'm glad he's finally finding a home.

New battles, new enemies and a new MMMM pairing (which caught me by surprise because it didn't involve one wolf I thought it would). Whew! This series is wrecking me but I'm loving it. I can't stop reading fast enough to see what happens. It has sucked me in.
I absolutely loved Marcus. He was so good with all his mates. They all deserve a good alpha to take care of them. My only complaint was I felt his self-deprecation went on a little too long. I hated how he thought he wasn't "whole" or "worthy". It was understandable but I didn't like it. He was too good to feel like that.
Poor Nate! He has been brainwashed and treated so bad. I really hope he is going to come out of this okay. I was glad Kellan finally found where he belonged and was accepted. Ricoh annoyed me a bit because I felt he should have known his mates other than Nate. At the end though, I was left feeling it was just Marcus that pulled them all together and they weren't all true mates to each other. We shall see...on to book 5. There's a malevolent force hiding in the wings...
It took a while but I'm loving this series now. For someone who almost bailed after the second book AND who is not a MMM fan I'm well and truly hooked!
Marcus .... I knew he was going to be awesome but he was awesome-er. Love how protective he his with his men, though I was heartsore that he didn't think he was "all that" because of his disability. Legs do not make a man, just saying.
Now I just need to see Nate heal, love and know he's loved in return.
Best book in the series so far, it just keeps getting better.
Oh wow, I think this might be my favorite book in the series, just because I LOVE all the characters, and I love how twisty and turny it was to reveal who the final mate pairing would be. And also who the bad guys were.
You definitely should read the previous books before this, otherwise I think you'd be pretty confused starting with this one.
I loved Marcus...perfect alpha male human, and I loved reading about him. Can't wait for the fifth book, it can't come out soon enough! Must get more of Marcus and his men.
I would give more than 5 stars if I could ~ It has been a whirlwind, roller coaster ride, reading the first three installments in the 'Sirius Wolves' series. 'The Promise', book four, was still set in and among the Supreme Alpha triad, but focused more on Marcus, Kellan, Ricoh, Hunter, and Nate. I was very happy about this, because I had been longing for resolution for these men for quite a while.
It goes without saying that the author doesn't make it easy for any of these men. Marcus is human, a former Marine, who lost two legs to an IED explosion, and has recently been named Lupine Liaison Officer due to his already close relationship with the wolves. Kellan is a member of Aden's old pack, and he was fed enough of the lies that he didn't stop the abuse against Aden. Then there is Michael, the traitor, who blackmailed Kellan into helping when Michael captured Blaze, Conner, and Aden. The majority of the wolves hold Kellan in disgust and will have nothing to do with him, regardless that none of these things were his fault. Now Blaze has assigned Kellan to be Marcus's assistant with integrating wolves and humans. Unbeknownst to Marcus, Kellan is his mate.
Hunter is alpha of the Jefferson pack, the closest pack in proximity to Orion's Circle, and it is over two thousand wolves strong. Ricoh has some empathic powers, but also has visions that show him horrible things. Nate is the young man who killed Darric, who had been abused and manipulated. The best part? Hunter and Ricoh are mates, Ricoh thinks. Ricoh and Nate are mates, he knows. Hunter and Nate despise each other. Oh, and currently Nate is being held, tortured, and brainwashed by an insane doctor with ties to a Christian fundamentalist preacher, but they're both being used by the wolf in charge of The Winter Circle. See what I mean? This author doesn't make it easy to get to happy ever after. Especially when even weirder things are happening between Marcus, Ricoh, and Kellan.
"Do you promise?” Marcus stared. Promise? “The pack is offering itself, Alpha. Do you promise to take care of us? Do you promise that everything you said was true?” Marcus felt a hand touch his, and stared into Nate’s eyes, then glanced at Kellan. They were both looking at him with the same trusting expression. It was true. He would take care of them to his dying breath. His gaze narrowed on Ricoh. “I promise.”
Oh. My. Word. Yes, I guessed again who the bad wolf was - thanks to the god, Anubis - but I never predicted the ending!! This author continues to blow me away, and I was thrilled to see Marcus, Nate, Kellan, and Ricoh mated. There will be work needed to help Nate work through his brainwashing, and The Winter Circle is still out there, but I can't wait for another installment.
NOTE: This book was provided by the publisher for the purpose of a review on Rainbow Book Reviews
This was a great edition to the series, I think my favourite book yet. There is really strong world building, the author weaving a tale that had me totally engrossed. There are a lot of characters, but they each have a clear voice. And Marcus, the human? A perfect hero. Highly recommended.
The Promise is book 4 in the Sirius Wolves series and although it is about a new group of four I wouldn’t recommend reading it as a standalone. There was a lot of world building in the first three books and The Promise both builds and expands on what we know whilst at the same time giving us a glimpse of the problems to come.
This review isn’t going to tell you much- as the blurb doesn’t give away who the four men are then neither will I. One of the things I most enjoyed about the story initially was trying to work out who was going to form the new group and how the dynamics were going to work. Victoria Sue was a bit crafty with this and there were a few options, a few ways it could have gone and she kept you guessing for quite a while.
Suffice to say Marcus is involved and he really comes into his own. He loves the position he finds himself in as Human Liason Officer to Blaze and the pack but oh boy his self-confidence has taken a beating. His injuries, the treatment he received at the hands of his ex-boyfriend and his own poor view of himself as less than a whole man leave him second guessing himself when it comes to matters of the heart. The whole mate and fate thing is fickle though and is like a runaway train when it gets a grip of you – Marcus is left holding on and hoping he survives.
Nate is missing, kidnapped by a loony preacher for nefarious reasons, and this time the wolves are not the ones to save him. That task falls to Marcus, an already confused Marcus, who comes face to face with the pack traitor who he must eventually best even if he dies trying.
I can’t begin to explain how much I loved the way this worked out! It was clever and it was right and it left me wanting much more of these four men. I have already been on nagging the author about the next book and I can’t wait to see where she takes them.
This series really gets better and better. I loved this installment – there is a lot going on, not sure who is going to be actual mates, etc. You really need to read the previous stories to understand what everyone has been through to get to this point, what/who they are fighting and what they are trying to accomplish.
This story sort of centers around Marcus in various forms. I’ve loved Marcus from the start. He is now the Lupine Liaison and trusted by the Supreme Alphas and well respected by the pack. He still struggles with his disability and feelings of inadequacy and it takes a while for him to realize the wolves don’t see him the same way. Blaze has appointed Kellan as Marcus’ aide, and the two get along great, are perfect for each other and just what each other needs.
Then there is the Ricoh mess. Poor guy knew he was mates with Nate, who ran away (long story you need to read the previous books to fully understand) and was then kidnapped by the Winter Circle. Not only are they trying to rid Nate of his wolf but also his homosexuality through torture, deprivation, etc. After all he has been through, it is hard not to feel terrible for him. But, Ricoh also believes his alpha, Hunter, is his mate, though Hunter has not acknowledged that up to this point. Ricoh is also having feelings for Marcus, so you can see how confused this poor wolf is.
We get to see the original foursome again, doing what they do best. Blaze showing his power is always exciting, and the others as well. Aden is recovering from his last birth, and the four are just generally enjoying being together again after Darric’s return.
There is definitely a lot going on in this installment, but it is a real page turner. There is plenty of action, some nice smexy time, including Kellan’s first time which was a really touching scene for both guys. While we never get to see a full-out scene with the new foursome, there is no doubt they make a great family that once everyone is fully healed and will be as strong as ever. I’m a bit greedy in that I really would have liked to have seen more of Nate’s recovery, but perhaps that will be shown in the next installment. I’m really looking forward to seeing how the new dynamics play out now that their (or Marcus’) roles have changed.
I definitely recommend this series and can’t wait for the next one!
Finally the next book in this awesome series by Victoria Sue! And then it’s Kellans story, yay. I know he isn’t loved by much people after all what he did, but a little part of my heart went out for him right in the first book, I confess. I have a soft spot for the misunderstood bad guys. He deserves a happy ending and if possible at least someone who will and can love him as he is… On the other hand we learn more about Marcus Flint, too. He had a few appearances in the first books and he already intrigued me in the past with every visit. A human liaison officer surrounded by werewolves as far as the eye can see? Well, that will be interesting to see and you will be surprised, at least as much as Marcus himself, when he finds out what lies within him and what fate has planned for him. The “old” threat The Winter Circle reaches out again and this time tries to strike on a more than personal way against Blaze and all werewolves. Poor Nate…! With some really surprising twists and turns, Blaze and his three mates have to pretend on the help of their allies to face again a major threat within “their” pack, to safe their kind and safety of all mankind.
While reading and especially after I’ve read the last words, I was more than sure that in some ways “The Promise” was right after the ending of Eternal Circle the most intense book in this awesome series. Join the fight once more and let yourself surprise and get caught in the intimate and intense getting together of…well, I won’t say anything further, read yourself. With some twists I really haven’t seen to come it will keep you at the edge of your seats! I enjoyed this book very much and can’t wait to read more and more and more of these guys! An awesome read for all fans of the Sirius Wolves series and highly recommended!

Summary:
Orion's Circle is once more complete, but the fight for the survive of shifters is still in the balance thinks to The Winter Circle. They are a group of humans determined to keep the human race separate from shifters. In the last book, Nate was released and cleared after killing one of the Orion Circle's alpha's when they found out he was being manipulated, but he was kidnapped by The Winter Circle who would go to any lengths to achieve their goal; including physical and mental abuse. Back at the Orion's Circle, Ricoh can't seem to find anyone to help him find his missing mate Nate until Marcus, a human, decides to stand by him. Marcus may be the only human allowed to live with the pack, but he proved his loyalty to the alpha's even though some members don't trust him. Kellan may live with the pack, but few trust him because of what he was forced into by the old Jefferson Pack alpha. If this doesn't cause your head to spin, don't forget that in the past the gods are more than willing to interfere to their own ends and one god Anubis isn't happy the god Sirius was being praised after her involvement with her wolves and humanity and he is ready for his chance to shine, but at what costs? This book was an incredible ride from the start and I will be waiting to see what is in store next the Sirius Wolves series.
Review: This book is part of a series and should be read in order.
I was thrilled to read more about the Sirius Wolves. This series has intrigued me and drawn me in since the beginning. This book continues that theme for me. I honestly have to be careful how I write this review so I don’t drop any spoilers. Because let me tell you things happened that really shocked me.
What I can say is that Victoria Sue has done it again with this book. The writing was on point except for a few minor editing issues. But even they did not distract from the amazingly web the author created. It really left me guessing until the end.
This book gave a very awesome look into the heads of Marcus and Kellan. Marcus a human injured veteran living within the wolves’ circle of power. The way he is accepted by most of them and respected more by the wolves than most humans give was touching.
However Marcus at times has a hard time accepting and understanding it himself. Marcus may be human, but he shows the wolves something that makes them give him the utmost respect. Kellan is hated by most of the wolves for his part in things that were beyond his control. But with Marcus and others in the inner circle he finds acceptance and his strength. It was wonderful to see him come into himself and discover his place in the pack.
I really can’t say much more about whom the other two people are in the developing relationship, but I will say I didn’t see it coming at the start. But I am far from disappointed.
This book had so many surprises around every corner and I cannot wait to see where Victoria Sue takes it next. Because let me tell you there are so many more things to discover and explore.
Damn this was nice. I love Marcus. He's so strong and alpha material. ⅓ in the book and I knew who the traitor was. I'd love to read more of these four.
I had almost given up on getting an oomph factor from this series after reading the first three books. But this book made me fall in love with it!! I am willfully ignoring the spelling and grammatical mistakes I found because the plot and the romance and the characters did a bang-up job of keeping me occupied with them.
I am soooo happy I took a risk by reading this. I love Marcus, and I will definitely reread this book some time in the future...:-)
This series just keeps getting better! Loved how we have moved on to different wolves but if fits the story arc so perfectly. I hope there is more to come with this mating, I need to see Nate get better, I need .... well no spoilers but I need!
I recommend this book to anybody who likes intrigue. That book was soooo good just like her other ones in the series. I just couldn't put it down. And I hope that we will see another soon. Thank you Victoria!
Original review on Molly Lolly Four stars! The Promise is another wonderful book in this series. Some of my questions from the end of the previous book were answered here. But oh my gosh I so didn’t see some of that happening! I loved how it all turned out. Of course there’s enough missing pieces that I absolutely have to have the next book rightnowrightnow. But it’s not like I’m left hanging where I feel the story isn’t finished. I love how the overarching story continues from one book to the next but there’s development of the characters and their relationships in each book. I was so glad that Kellan is finally being understood and respected. He was mistreated before because of circumstances outside his control. But he’s truly a beautiful person for how much he cares for those around him. Ricoh had to face some harsh truths in this book. I loved how he grew from the start of the story to the end. It was wonderful to watch. However Marcus was amazing! The strength he showed was astounding. Seeing his self confidence and self esteem at an all time low were rough, but the writing during those scenes was superb. The Winter Circle really stepped up their game in this story and I’m so fascinated how they are going to continue to be a problem in future books. And that mayor we’ve seen before? Oh man is she trouble with a capital T! I’m intrigued how the gods are interfering again and what kind of long term ramifications there are. I’m eager to see how the ending effects the future of the Jefferson pack. I’ve also got some new questions I would like answered and cannot wait to read the next book in the series. It’s pretty much an auto-buy and then an auto-read when it comes out.
I liked it but didn't love it. I know the series needs to progress, but I really missed the interaction between Conner, Darric, Blaze and Aden. I wanted to see more of the children, and what powers they are developing. What did make this story work for me was Marcus. He's a wounded warrior, sacrificing his legs for his country. He is brave, and stands tall because of his courage and commitment. I always have a soft spot for the military, and have utmost respect for Marcus.
I thought this was Marcus and Kellan's story but instead it is also Nate and Ricoh's story. Not only are they mates with each other but it's all four together! This book was very intense and emotionally, very hard to read. I am so glad I powered through. Nate's story was one of horrible torture, and unfortunately Hunter was behind this. With Marcus, now alpha leader of the Jefferson Pack, I can see there are going to be big challenges in the next book. Here I go!
This book was wonderful. Kept you on your toes throughout, not letting you know who was the bad guy/wolf until the end. Adding Anubis into the mix? Is the wolf completely at fault or was his head messed with as much as others had been. Can't wait till l read book 5. Recommend reading this series highly 1000%+++
Yep - a soap opera! With miracles and returns from the dead. They kill off your favorite character and then bang! he is back. The really nice, friendly person? Betrayal! You think you know what is happening and then bam! No you don't!
It has that same drag you in addictive quality even when you are going "But!"
OK just when you think it can’t get any better it does more involved storylines such a rich characters and they’re on your edge of your seat story that just keeps you reading and reading and reading
Enjoyable story with new characters able to share what happens to them. I really enjoyed Marcus, Kellan, Ricoh, and Nate. I was once again surprised by the ending!
