Aviva Gittle was born and raised on Long Island in New York. She earned a B.Sc. in General Studies at National University in La Jolla, CA. Now a grandmother, she writes and publishes children's books. Although Aviva has been owned by many cats through the years, today her only furry friend is an imaginary kitten named Kitten. He lives in Aviva's heart. Kitten is everything a friend should be: kind, patient, loving, understanding ... and fun!
This is a story about Kitten meeting Snake for the very first time and their eventual discovery that they could have fun and play together even though they are very different creatures and are a bit puzzling to each other at first. The illustrator, Tekla Huszar, did an absolutely beautiful job! The pictures are precious and at the end of the book there is also a coloring book with eleven pages to be colored, which is a wonderful addition. I won this book in a goodreads giveaway and I'm so glad that I did because I was not familiar with Aviva Gittle's work up to this point. I will be sharing this book with my grandchildren and also purchasing other books in the series. I know they will love her stories.
A snake looks mean/tough. The kitten began to swat its tail. The snake was not very happy about that. The kitten’s dog friend let him swat its tail.
How will the kitten become his friend?
I did not receive any type of compensation for reading & reviewing this book. While I receive free books from publishers & authors, I am under no obligation to write a positive review. Only an honest one.
A very awesome book cover, great colored pictures & proper font & writing style. A very well written children’s squirrel adventure story book. It was very easy for me to read/follow from start/finish & never a dull moment. There were no grammar/typo errors, nor any repetitive or out of line sequence sentences. Lots of exciting scenarios, with several twists/turns & a great set of unique characters to keep track of. This could also make another great children’s educational movie, classroom PP presentation, an animated cartoon, or better yet a mini TV series. A very easy rating of 5 stars.

This book will really appeal to younger readers. The lovely illustrations are captivating and reflect the innocent, playful tone of this book. We recently adopted a similar looking kitten so I was immediately interested to see if the kitten in this book was as cheeky and fun-loving as ours is – I was not disappointed.
Kitten is sweet creature who wants to play with a rattle snake’s tail. We already know that Kitten’s innocence may get him into a lot of trouble. The author carefully constructs the story and keeps us intrigued.
I received a free copy for an honest review and I must say I found this book to be a delight. It’s bound to be a winner with younger readers too either in its print form or electronically. It is beautifully presented and little kitten will certainly capture their hearts. This book is one in a series. It’s well worth getting yourself a copy of it and the others today.
Author Aviva Gittle and illustrator Tekla Huszar presents this adorable story about two unlikely friends. This tale is filled with compassion for one another, regardless of their differences. There are many learning facts about snakes that will extend learning. The illustrations are rendered in bright colors with sharp details that will leave readers waiting for the next page. I'm looking forward to reading more of these author's stories in the "Friends and Kittens Series." (I received a copy of this book through a free offer by the author.)
My kids loved it. The story is simple and nice, language is okay as far as I can judge it. Actually anything about kittens is more than welcome by my kids (aged 6 and 2), and this story wasn't an exception. They loved that the kitten was pictured on almost every second page. I was provided with a free copy of this book so I could give an honest review and I am glad it was this book! We were pleased to meet both kitten and snake.
