Enticing, passionate, & tantalizing...Wishbone has it all, and more!
L. Sommers hit a grand slam with Wishbone, book one in her newest Game On Trilogy! The story captured my attention from page 1! Oh who am I kidding?!...it was the blurb and book cover that first had me SOLD! But they took an immediate back seat once I dove into the book.
Alli was fed up. Fed up with her cheating boyfriend, of always coming in second, and never feeling truly taken care of by a man. Deciding a fresh start was what she needed, she gets on a plane and doesn't look back. But fate decided to step in, along with a little help from a layover in Dallas and an attractive stranger named Chris. Chris is everything she isn't looking for. Not only is he sinfully gorgeous and sex-on-legs, but the longer she gets to know Chris, the longer she yearns for a man exactly like him...charming, seductive and sincerely compassionate.
Chris, aka Shane, doesn't know what it is about this stunning woman he just met, he only knows he can't walk away from her. Shane is completely ensnared in Alli's web. Absolutely beautiful, feisty, and deeply caring, Alli completely surprises him but keeping him on his toes. The story progressed exceptionally well, and I not once felt overwhelmed by over descriptions. The characters were relatable and down-to-earth, with the occasional over-eccentric baseball teammate! I could not put this book down, and devoured it from cover to cover in one sitting!
If you're a fan of lovable, realistic characters, and a riveting storyline with a HEA, then Wishbone is the walk-off homerun and MUST READ for you! 5 Fanatic & Super Stars!

L. Sommers has hit it out of the park with Wishbone book one of the Game On trilogy. This sexy romance between Alli & Chris, a.k.a. Shane McCall, #1 pitcher for the San Diego Sun Devils left me speechless. Alli Bane is fresh from leaving her long time live in boyfriend she's flying to San Deigo when her plane misses it's connection in Dallas. Chris/Shane can't stop looking at Alli he see something even through the heartache that is drawing him to her. Stories are shared, wishes are made and a closeness that either can explain is had over an evening. Fate intervenes a few weeks later after each of them think they've lost each other, but things have changed and walls have been put up and trust becomes a huge factor. Can a connection made in an airport evolve to more?
I love a good sports romance but this the emotional pull these characters had on me was something else. I could not put this book down - devouring it in two sitting! The story wasn't wrapped up in a neat little ball but had layers that made you want to find out more and the sub characters are so well developed that I'm just itching to know more about them. The feels this book brought out in me - oh my... I can not wait for the next book in the series! 5 bat flips for L. Sommers Wishbone.

I had the pleasure to met this amazing author because of her amazing book Red Roses that i absolutely loved from the first page.
When she told me that she was going to write another book i was so happy and excited about it, because i knew that whatever she writes will be a masterpiece, and i wasn't wrong.
I started to read this book and i was tottaly captivated by it, the emotion, the sadness, the love, the mystery overall it was a rollercoster of emotions, in the good way but also in the bad way.
We face some serious situations that unfortunately are so near to us, just around the corner, on our house, situations that we think it wont happen to us until they do.
This is the story between Shane and Alli.
Alli just wants to runaway from her life, find happiness and most impotant, to find herself.
Shane is a famous baseball player, well succeed in life, that always gets what he wants in and out of the field.
They meet and something tells Alli to run away but it tells Shane to get her.
Can they be together? Can such different personalities stick around or not?
The only thing that i can say is that Lisa is an amazing author and she can get into you, even if you don't want to, she takes your emotios to the limit in every word she writes.

Fantastic! A "page turner" couldn't put it down, though real life made me do it. Is a heart warming and at times heart breaking story, but yet fun and witty, it sure will make you laugh or grin like a loon looking at your screen, it sure did me. Let's not forget HOT man I wish to find me a Shane. I just loved it! <3 Saying more would be spoiling it for you guys, so go ahead and just get it already!!!

Wishbone had so many interesting characters.
Chelsea, Alli's blunt bestfriend. I loved her! She is confident and spunky. How can you not want to be best friends with her?
She hops out of her little car, then turns around and gives the finger to the guy she just cut off. "Screw you, I'm here to pick up my best girl!
Shane's dad...
"Shane, you need a good woman in your life. You can achieve anything you want in life. Hell, you can fly to the moon and back if you wish, but none of it means anything if you have no one to share it with."
No one wants to be alone or feel unwanted. Poor Alli got a shitty deal with her Jackass of a cheating ex. I could relate to Alli and how she felt, the way she thought.
"Chris..." She hesitates a moment, before continuing, "Do you want me?"
Shitty relationships will eventually end but the doubt remains. It's hard to feel desirable when someone who is supposed to love you, throws you away. But there is always someone that is willing to put in the work and help repair those broken/damaged parts.
I am a winner just because I get to be near her.
I decide not to touch her, even though my body aches from being so far away.
Chris/Shane is the perfect guy, yet an idiot. But he's hot! Have you looked at the cover of Wishbone? I mean, HELLO!! Shane never saw himself in a relationship. But sometimes fate has other plans.
"Sweetheart, I've been drunk since the day I met you. I have been all twisted up inside since that night, and trust me that when I say I love you it comes from a part of me that has never hurt more...."

Shane/Chris dad dies, Alli is a naive young thing that is just out of a crappy relationship.
Hot sex... But I can't rate a book on how hot or cool the cover is!! The cover is amazing tho !!
Another Book I wanted to love based on the Cover.
I didn't connect with Alli as much as I wanted and I think Chris/Shane was confusing to have two names.
Miss communications and some funny lines at times and plenty of drama.
I didn't like the Cal situation either, it's was not needed. The whole book he was there, I just wanted a simple book about two ppl falling in love. Without all the drama, honestly I didn't realize what kinda of story I was getting into when I picked this one up.
I found it sad that the ppl close to them were and had been sick.
I wanted to like this book so much more then what I actually did.
They weren't even together much at all I hate when that happens.

Fabulous start to a brand new series.
Wishbone is a feel good read, I finished in a happy place with a smile plastered on my face. :)
It draws you in from the first page and has you gripped until the very end. You can't help but route for Alli and Shane.
New beginnings...
Alli Is starting a new chapter in her life. Leaving her past in search of something better.
One flight & ball game could pave the way to the happiness she so desperately wants.
Can she let her guard down to let love in or will her past ruin her for all others.
Shane.
At the top of his game the only thing that is missing is the love of a good woman. One flight and he's hooked. Can he be reconnected with the girl who finally made him feel??

I'm really struggling to write a review for this book. I'm honestly not sure how I felt about the book. There were some aspects I liked and others I completely detested!
Alli was such a hypocrite, she doesn't want to end up in the same situation as she was in with Jack yet she is dangling Cal in front of Shane and leading Cal on along the way!! I really didn't like her character one bit.
This story all happened pretty quick, Allie and Shane hadn't really spent any length of time together at all to get to know each other. I couldn't relate to Alli at all but I have to admit I liked Shane.
There were some parts of this story I loved, the relationship with Shane and his sister was beautiful I loved how he was with her and how much he loved her.

This book first grabbed my attention because of the cover then I read the blurb. What's better than a baseball player hero? So right away this has my attention because I'm a huge baseball nut. The only thing that I would have liked was if the was a little more involved with being at the ballpark, but otherwise it was a very enjoyable read. Alli's looking for a fresh start after a bad break up. A chance meeting at an airport and then fate takes over. After their beautiful moment at the airport they thought they'd never see one another again, but fate has a funny way of working. Now back in each others lives that spark is back in full force, but can Alli trust her gut when it comes to Shane? Shane is a great character. He's a guy has a big heart that's going through some tough stuff. His one shining light is Alli. He will stop at nothing to prove he's the one for her and make his wish on the wishbone come true.

Wishbone was my first book by L. Sommer's. It was a fast read for me. I picked it up because I like sports romance books.
This book had a lot going on story wise. Alli is fed up with her boyfriend, so she leaves him to move with her friend across the county in San Diego. While on a layover she meets Chris (who is also Shane). He is a famous baseball player, but she doesn't know who he is. They have one night and then he is called away to deal with family issues. They leave without saying goodbye.
Lucky Alli, because her BFF is also in with the baseball team, where she runs into none other than Chris/Shane. Too bad she is now dating his coach. Chris doesnt like this at all, and makes every effort to break them up.
When I say there is a lot going on plot wise... there is a lot. Cheating ex's. Cancer. Wrong names. Thrown out contacts. Death. Famous baseball players. At times, my head was spinning

This book was the first of L. Sommers I have ever read and I have to say am happily surprised!
I found that this book was one of self discovery and taking control even though in a crazy way. I cannot blame Alli for her actions honestly. A guy like Chris/Shane would swoon anyone off their feet. But what I loved the most about this book is the connection that these two made. When things come to light, Alli cannot stay away from him. My heart broke at moments for these two but together they were explosive. Not just physically but emotionally. They are connected at an emotional level and they play very well off of each other. Fave scene…. hotel room. OMFG I laughed so hard!
If you want a quick read that has a beautiful tale, I recommend this one. I am looking forward to finding out more about the people in this series!

This is the first title I have read by this author and it certainly won't be the last! I was sucked in from page one and didn't want to come out of my book haze! I love Alli and Shane and was hoping they would come to their senses and see exactly why they went together to begin with! I can't wait to see what L. Sommers delivers us next!

Steamy romance that never leaves you wanting more. This book just keeps on giving so glad that I found this free book and decided to give this author a try. I will forever be looking for what this author has coming in the future. I fell in love with the characters from the first chapter and didn't want to stop reading at bedtime because I had to know what was coming next. I have found another author that I will forever follow. Thanks Lisa Sommers for giving us such an amazing story.

I flippin' LOVED this book!! Sparks between Shane and Alli are immediately happening when they first meet. Who wouldn't want to meet a hot guy in an airport and without knowing it, you find the love of your life? At times I wanted to smack some sense into Alli, because she was being stubborn about her feelings toward Shane. All he wanted to do was love her.
A must read by the very talented L.Sommers. I read this book so fast I am onto the next one!

I really, really liked this story. It's about Alli Bane and Chris/Shane Mc Call's chance meeting on a flight from Pittsburgh to Dallas which arrives late, causing them and 2 others to lose their connecting flight. They have to overnight in Dallas which gives them ample opportunity to get to know each other .....circumstances cause them to lose touch, but not for long.......

I found out about this book at a signing. I have to say I love it. There is a story to this book. You are never really sure if it's going to have a happy ending or not. You sit on the edge of your sit and keep turning pages needing more. I would tell everyone to read Wishbone.

Game on!
Gaah! Omg I instantly fell in love with this book. Shane meets Allie on a plane flying home after visiting his father. They both feel an instant connection but with Allie's recent break up she is not ready for anything new quite yet. All least until Shane shows her the attention she's been seeking for so long. After an abrupt departure due to his father's illness the odds of them meeting again are slim....until fate hits a home run once again.
Book 1 in this series is a great read and a page turner. It can be read as a standalone but as always I prefer to read the series as a who!e.

After an abrupt departure due to his father's illness the odds of them meeting again are slim....until fate hits a home run once again.
Book 1 in this series is a great read and a page turner. It can be read as a standalone but as always I prefer to read the series as a who!e.

Wishbone makes you want to wish upon a star!
My introduction to the works of L. Sommers was exceptional. Chris (Shane) is a major league baseball pitcher. He was not looking for a relationship. Allie was hurt deeply in her last and as far as she was concerned final relationship. She was not looking to be cut so deeply again.
A chance meeting in an airport makes them rethink their decision but that chance meeting may be their only meeting. L. Sommers contemplates that love at first ideal, mix in some second chance relationship and a whole lot of chemistry and you have Wishbone. I look forward to more from her.

Nicely done
A well worn storyline, but written in an interesting, well-developed way. Girl leaves cheating boyfriend to start across the country with support from great but somewhat troubled best friend. Meets greatest, but somewhat risky, boy on trip to new home. The story is clear.
What sets this book apart is the treatment. The writing brings the characters to life. They come from a good place. They care for each other. Their flaws are explained in previous family and relationship trauma. All in all, a good read.

Love this story
This book pulled at my heart strings, it's filled with sweetness, sadness and a bit of frustration. There are some surreal issues a of loss and pain, but there is also love and the desire to conquer obstacles to be with the ones you love. I do wish that there was more of the sport that the main character portrayed, but all in all it is a great story and I can't wait to read the next instalment of this series.

This story.....I can't even form the words.
I am so in love with this story. From the very beginning I was pulled in and it wouldn't release me.
When fate moves....well it doesn't matter where you are. Shane and Alli are just amazing. The story of them meeting, to in between and right up to the end there were so many heartfelt moments, pull out your hair moments, suspenseful and heart pumping moments.
The story of course oozes it's sexiness and romance.
I am so excited for more and can't wait to see where they have gone on their path.

I REALLY wanted to like this one! I am a sucker for a good sports romance and let's be honest...this.cover. I'm not ashamed to admit that's what first drew me in. Then, I read the synopsis and it sounded like such a promising read. The premise of the story was good, but I just could not get past the lack of editing and grammatical errors. The story felt too rushed as well. Darn.
