Our absolute fucking ended in a loving so fierce and life-affirming that I sobbed out his name because there was nothing else I could do.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, but this addicting freaking serial is going to drive me to drink. For the love of my sanity, Cari and Taryn, can I just get the final book in my grabby little hands before I go absolutely kaka for coco puffs?! Suffice it to say that the book before the conclusion of the series ends on the most painful cliffhanger. EVER. Why? Because these authors are fucking sadists is why. They lure me in with their sexy billionaire and then they dangle him in front of me like a carrot to a rabid squirrel. And just as it's getting so good, they snap that shit away quicker than I can say "gimme". Clearly they get off on bringing me pain... and yet I still love them. But I digress...

Book 5 in The Boss serial much as the previous books, leaves off where book 4 left off. Each installment in the series being told in alternating POVs and this one gives us Grace's. On her hunt for answers and her grandmother's diary that may hold the clues she seeks, Grace lands herself in some trouble. Blake comes sweeping in in all his swoony matter and in true Cari and Taryn fashion there's plenty of smexy scenes to be found. As far as the plot progression, this installment offered but a taste. But that's because I'm a greedy shit and always want more. And don't you judge me either!

As much as I'm typically not a fan of serials, this one is holding my attention like nothing else. Perhaps it's because there's a fascinating mystery that weaves itself into the romance. The intrigue of Blake and Grace's lives being tied in as much as they are piqued my interest and being trickle fed one tiny detail after the next with each book has become a favorite addiction of mine. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm off to go rock myself in a dark corner somewhere until the conclusion of the series is released.

Another wonderful installment in this serial. I was a little worried to read this book because it's been a while since I read the last book. Luckily, as soon as I started reading this book, it all came racing back. Cari Quinn & Taryn Elliott make a great duo and know how to keep me hooked.

Grace is searching for her grandmother's diary. She thinks it's in a cove that she used to frequent with her grandmother when she was younger. Unfortunately she gets trapped. But no worries, because Blake arrives just in time to save her. After more searching they find a flash drive. With a little help decoding it, they receive a message from her grandmother.

Another cliffhanger! Gah! Yes I expected one since this is a serial, but that doesn't mean I have to like it. And this was a good one too. I can't wait to see what happens next. I'm sure Blake is going to be in a tale spin before it's all said and done. The last book in this series is due to be released in June...not that far away, thankfully.

Irresistibly sexy and captivating. An unputdownable serial.
He rested his forehead against mine as he brushed my lips with his. The heart monitor gave a staccato beat. Enough that even Blake had to laugh into my mouth. “Is that what it sounds like inside you when I kiss you?”

Blake Carson is still as stubborn, sexy and unwilling to acknowledge his bond with Grace as ever. Contrary to his actions which are that of dominant lover and possessive protector. I can’t seem to have enough of this man and as much as I want to final installment of this serial like I need my next breath, I also don’t want it to end.

Part five in the serial is told from Grace’s point of view and opens with a heart stopping scene having Grace in a perilous situation and Blake swooping in like in true knight in shining armor.

While the doubt behind Jack’s actions are cleared up and Grace discovers more clues left behind by her grandmother, the plot is still as complex as ever and there are many questions that are left unanswered.
“Piggyback?”
“This is not a summer picnic…”

His nostrils flared before he closed his eyes.
“What are you doing?”
“Counting to ten…. Why do I put up with this?”

I slid my arms around his shoulders and hopped on.
“Because we have fantastic sex.”
“Not a good enough reason.”
He hiked me up until my cheek brushed his. I was tempted to say because he loved me, but I didn’t want to press my luck.
“Onward, great steed.”

With each installment and every give and take between Grace and Blake there are more sweet and fun moments, and of course there are incredibly hot sexy times that have me craving more time with these characters.
Our absolute f*ck!ng ended in a loving so fierce and life-affirming that I sobbed out his name because there was nothing else I could do.

Even though each part has been a short read, the writing is superb with an exciting pace and just the right amount of disclosure and thrilling cliffhanger that keep me coming back for more. I’ve very much enjoyed having them be told in alternating points of view

This is the fifth volume of six in The Boss serial. It is strongly advised that these be read in order.

This was more like it

Blake insists that Grace stays with him, after her grandmothers house is broken into by a bunch of thieves.

But again. Besides, sex Blake is very distant while she is there. When she goes missing Blake panics.

Trapped in freezing cold water in the cove, Grace and her phone stuck up on the rocky edge, she is able to use her coat to swat it down. With barely a signal she is able to call Blakes phone and say one word, Cove.

With almost losing Grace in the cove, Blake no longer hides his feelings for her and sits by her bedside till she is better. Grace reveals the reason why she was down in the cove. She had found her grandmothers diary that had cryptic information that Grace figured out. Something her grandmother his was in that cove.

Oh Cari and Taryn, you sneaky women you. Grace didn't fall victim to a dastardly plan. Suffering succotash, you had us worried. Oh okay, she's still in a bit of a pickle...I've never quite understood that saying...does it mean someone is in a tight space? If so, that completely fits the scenario of what really went down causing Grace to miss Blake's party.

Thankfully, because she is too stubborn to give up, Grace is able to connect with Blake, for about five seconds. But it's enough to help Blake and Jack find her. Of course, Blake is still all alphatastic possessive and doesn't want Jack to touch her...or is it because he still doesn't know if he can trust Jack...or both?

Now as to the reason Grace ended up in such a precarious position? She's essentially following a clue left by her Grandma. And Grace, being Grace, was unable to wait until she followed said clue. *Seems like she'd fit right in with Mystery, Inc. crew, huh? Yes, I love Scooby, hence my reference. LOL*

While recovering at the hospital, I like that Grace, without even looking at a card, knew the bouquet of sterling grey roses surrounding one singular white rose, was from Blake. My first thought was that it fit them perfectly. Grace is the center of everything for Blake, the light to his dark. Maybe I'm reading too much into it, but it seemed like a fitting symbolism of their lovership. (I'm inventing a completely new parameter for defining what they are. They aren't in a relationship, per se, at least not in the truest sense of the word, but they are lovers. They, for the most part, stick to their defined roles and in separate corners during the day, but at night, and sometimes when the want is too much to contain during the day, they come together in an explosive demonstration of barely contained need. Therefore, they're in a lovership.)

Poor Grace. She's all alone family wise as everyone has essentially left her. Now she's realizing her Grandma, the woman who meant everything to her, was keeping secrets. That has to hurt. (Think Grandma was a former Bond girl? Sleeper agent? A spook?)

Ooh, the diary gives Grace a clue regarding someone very important in her life...information that will explain a cryptic statement that left us all curious back in volume one..."It's you. It's always been you." Read between the lines, figuratively and literally, here Grace. It's right in front of you.

So the scavenger hunt clue finally leads to a key piece of information, and we find out a little more about Grandma...the woman knew how to keep a secret and how to protect that secret enough to impress a hacker, err computer expert.

All we know, before these two deliciously evil authors torture us yet again, is that Grace is in danger and Grandma knows why. What the heck is going on? Will Blake finally admit that he loves Grace? Will they get their HEA? What exactly was Grandma a part of? Will we go insane before we get our answers? LOL Thank goodness all of our questions will be answered soon. But I don't know if I can take the not knowing. Oh okay, I can because I need to know what happens and to find out, I need to wait for the next, and final, installment. In the meantime, I'm going to go sit in a corner, rocking back and forth, while chugging down a bottle of Stella. *don't judge me*

On a side note, when Grace is injured, we see the true depth of Blake's feelings for her.  It's sweet to see. Also, I truly love the banter between these two. Here's an example of why:

Grace: "What are you doing?"
Blake: "Counting to ten."
Grace: "Probably going to need twenty."

I highly recommend you one-click this set of serials and hold on tight for a wonderfully fantastic ride. You'll laugh, get all hot and bothered, get frustrated, and most of all, you'll fall in love with this couple.

"What are you doing?....Counting to 10. You are probably going to need 20….OMG I love this line – absolutely priceless and is so them.

I love the fact that Blake put the baggie into her jacket, and didn’t stick it in his….so telling! Love him.

Fav scene….the clock.

Holy shit….now that is a cliff hanger. She’s in danger. Really? Could you have been a little kinder Taryn & Cari? No, I guess not. This final wait is going to be a killer….I will need at least a week’s notice of the release date so I can re-read 1-5 before I hit #6.

Yes these were the thoughts that ran through my head as I read the book. I figure these are the best way to let you know my thoughts on this book!! :D

The Boss; Book Five by Cari Quinn & Taryn Elliott is the second last book in the series and the story of Blake & grace is becoming more complex with every chapter. They are undoubtedly, in love, but there still remains so many unanswered questions and answers and every time you think you know what's happening, you discover that you know nothing... The story, though each book is short, is well written & the characters are well developed. There is enough action to keep the reader intrigued & just sufficient plot development to hold your attention without frustration. Can't wait for the next and final book. If you haven't started this series - what are you waiting for? If you are already reading The Boss, grab your copy asap, there is more surprises about to be revealed. Oh how I love this series, but oh how cruel was this ending! This fifth installment in The Boss pulls out all the stops and takes readerso n one heck of a ride!

I simply devoured this one - reading it straight through. I had to know what happens next. The plot thickens and the end of this one ends at quite the cliffhanger. I'm happy Cari Quinn and Taryn Elliott write like mad, because it's not long to wait for the next release.

Anyone wanting a hot romance with a fun set of characters needs to look no future than The Boss!

Wow. Things are getting intense! This installment was told from Grace's point of view and she found herself in a jam. And I think she really got a clearer idea of where Blake's feelings fell when it came to her. Plus they came closer to finding out why the break-ins keep happening and what they are after.

I mean it's unbelievable how much Cari Quinn and Taryn Elliott can pack into 75 pages. There is the passion that burns between Grace and Blake and the mystery around what is going on. It's like a complete story on all on its own! I am so excited for Volume 6! I can't wait to find out what is really going and who all is involved!

Well, part of me is happy that Blake is finally starting to show some of his feelings. Another part of me is getting really frustrated that the secrets aren’t being revealed. Again, lots of chances to come clean for Blake and none of them taken.

As for Ms. Copeland, she’s turned mysterious as well. She has more questions than answers from Blake, but she’s not pushing for the answers either. Is she afraid of what she may find out? Does she only want to find out what her grandmother was actually hiding and not what Blake has to do with anything? She has really confused me in this volume.

But, as a story goes, it is intriguing and sexy. Blake is still a demanding lover and Grace is more than willing to be his partner there. The cliff hanger was a bit of a surprise and has just added more questions as to what really happened in the past and what Blake has to do with it.

So, this was a really quick read. It actually took me 45 minutes from start to finish. And, that was also something that frustrated me as well. Just as, maybe, some things would start to come together, more questions. But, there is also a part of me that cheers for Cari and Taryn. I’m usually pretty good at figuring out a mystery, of breaking down the story and figuring out where the players are going. Not in The Boss. I think I got more and more confused as the story progressed. With that said, I am definitely looking forward to volume 6 since all the questions will finally be answered. Maybe then I won’t be red-reading this trying to figure things out in my spare time.

This series continues to keep me completely intrigued....and wanting to throw my Kindle across the room! In The Boss: Book Five, Cari and Taryn continue to reveal bits and pieces of the mystery surrounding Grace and Blake but still leave the reader guessing and speculating just what the biggest secrets truly are. Just when I think we are taking a huge step forward, they throw us a big curve ball and we take two steps back, again wondering what the heck is going on! But all of these mysteries are presented in the best possible way, keeping us coming back for more. Grace and Blake continue to have mad chemistry and their scenes together are scorching hot. I love seeing Blake's steely exterior soften ever so slightly with each passing chapter. The Boss continues to be a must-read series and I am eagerly awaiting the next chapter to finally unravel the mystery that continues to be eluded to. Caution.....hold on to your Kindle tight even when the urge to throttle it across the room becomes too great. Trust me, it will happen!

Love me some Blake Carson!!!! And of course my Gracie and Blake's BFF, the hilarious Jack. Each installment is just as good, if not even better, than the one before it. And that ending.......aaauuuggghhhh......where the flip is book six??? I need to know what, where, when, how, why.....etc....
Ms. Cari and Ms. Taryn have created a fabulous read and I don't want it to end!!! In this book, we finally get to see more sweetness from our beautiful Blake towards his beautiful Grace. And of course, more funny thoughts and sayings from our crazy Grace, since this book is told in her POV. The mystery that has been woven throughout the series is still as complicated as ever and now I definitely want to know more about Grace's lovely grandmother Annabelle and Blake's connection to her. I don't know how everything will come together in the final installment, but I cannot wait to find out!! ;)

The Boss V5 by Cari Quinn & Taryn Elliott

I don't even know what is going on anymore. The authors are keeping me guessing with each and every goddamn chapter. Each plot twist has a twist of its own and I'm going not so quietly insane.

This serial has captured my attention from the first installment and I cannot wait for the next and final piece of the Blake and Grace puzzle to fall into place. Who is hiding what from whom, for God's sake?! I can't take it!!!

And the plot thickens.

We now have a mysterious Diary from Grace’s grandmother, a near death experience for one of our characters, more clues to follow and of course the raging chemistry between Blake and Grace.
This serial by Cari Quinn and Taryn Elliot has been so compelling; you won’t be able to stop reading once you’ve turned the first page.

Regardless of the cliffhangers, of which there are many, you’ll come back just because you can’t get enough of this fascinating couple

I can't take much more. If you are onto Book 6 like I am you know exactly what I mean. This 6 part novel is not for the faint of heart. So much intrigue. So many secrets. Not enough answers. It's killing me!

We left off Book 4 with Grace missing and the boys (Blake and Jack) looking for her. Needless to say they find her and after a harrowing escape they save the day. We finally get answers right? No! Are you kidding me? No answers yet. Grace's visit to the cave helps lead us to a memory stick that will hopefully wrap up everything. And it definitely brings Blake and Grace's relationship to a different level. He's not spilling his guts about all that he's hiding but he's also no longer pushing her away just as fast as he pulls her to him either.

Well off to Book 6. You'll know if it doesn't give us the answers we need by the sound of my screaming heard around the world.

Grace has been going to her late grandmother's house looking for clues on the break ins when she finds her grandmother's diary that talks about the cove when she goes searching she stumbles and gets her foot stuck in a rock. With the tide rising can she make it out? Will Blake find her soon knowing that nobody knows where she is??? Great read.

There'd always been an undercurrent of dominance in our relationship...But this was different. For the first time, he seemed to need me to be more than just a willing woman wrapping around him. I'd said the words without expecting them in return. Good thing, because they'd never come. For a while I'd wondered if I'd ruined everything by telling him that I loved him. But here and now, the look in his eyes was more than sex and possession. It was there, of course - I wasn't sure it would ever be completely gone. Madness seemed to follow us into the dark. I loved it. I craved it as much as I craved the man.

Finally, finally BOOK 5! With the dropped clues and the tense lead-up in BOOK 4, I knew that things were about to get crazy for Grace and Blake. I could not have guessed at what was going to unfold in this installment of THE BOSS, and I love that Cari and Taryn keep throwing curves that only serve to make the story even more delicious.

Having uncovered some surprising facts surrounding her grandmother, Grace is bent on finding out the truth behind them. With the help of Blake and Jack, the pieces begin to come together, leaving Grace with more questions than answers. Why? Because, you guessed it, cliffhanger! Gah, Cari and Taryn, you are KILLING me, but in the most wonderful way, because I can't get enough of Grace and Blake. These two continue to set each other's world on fire, and it's clear that their relationship is becoming more than either of them had anticipated.

And, speaking of Blake, we still don't know what the deep dark secrets from his past might be. I'm still guessing, and the clues are there, but we're going to have to wait for BOOK 6 (gah!) to find out exactly how he knows Grace's grandmother, Annabelle, and what Annabelle was hiding. In the meantime, 5+ 'steamier than ever, we've got a mystery to solve, what the heck?!' stars for THE BOSS: BOOK FIVE. Read it. Love it. You know that you will.

REVIEW: THE BOSS Volume 5 is the fifth installment in Cari Quinn and Taryn Elliott’ serialized story focusing on billionaire security expert/glass entrepreneur Blake Carson, and glass artist Grace Copeland. Their continuing story finds Grace in a dangerous situation that requires a rescue by the man that she loves, and a secret diary that reveals too little, too late.

Told from first person point of view (Grace) volume five follows the search and rescue for Grace. Grace had been on the hunt for something her Grandmother found important enough to hide, and the information contained within has yet to be revealed. Once again, there is a little bit of action (rescue), the character building remains static as we have yet to learn about the connection between Blake and Grace’s family but there are a few hints as to Blake’s obsession with our story line heroine; the $ex scenes felt a little bit rushed in comparison to previous scenarios but in each case time, privacy and safety weighed heavily on their minds. The banter between Grace and Blake, as well as with Blake’s business partner Jack continues to feed into the great story line pacing and suspense.

The Fifth Volume of The Boss is told from Grace's point of view. The last installment of The Boss ended with Blake confronting Jack about the cuff-link found after the break-in at Grace's grandmother's home. Grace is MIA from Blake's party that she planned. She had text that she would be 'home soon' and now isn't answering her phone.

Now we know why Grace wasn't answering her phone and her struggle to free her trapped foot until Blake and Jack arrive to save her. Hypothermia and a hospital stay of several days prevents Grace and Blake from looking into the cave for the evidence that has been hidden by Annabelle.

Cari Quinn & Taryn Elliott have an amazing ability to completely suck you into a story. This serial is filled with suspense, romance and a bit of angst thrown in as well, which keeps it very interesting. This serial is addictive, and I can't wait to see what happens in the final book. This serial has kept me on the edge of my seat since the very first installment. Each time you think you might be getting a handle on the truth and the mysteries that revolve around Grace, Blake and Annabelle, to then have more questions raised. It seriously feels like a case of five steps forward, three steps backwards in your quest to get these answers. They drip feed you pieces of information with each book, which keeps you coming back for more and the cliffhangers, make this serial completely addictive you can't end any of these books the way they finish you need the answers!
You will not be disappointed when reading this serial each of the stories twists and turns and I know that the minute i pick one up I will be reading it from start to finish.
It's lovely to see the development of Grace's feelings and Blake's actions speak louder than words in this volume.

This is part 5 of a 6-part serial novel. You will need to read the earlier installments to know what’s going on with this one. Heck, if you’ve read them already, and have read a bunch of books since, you should probably re-read the last couple chapters of #4 just to catch yourself up.

This installment starts out exactly where the last left off (as any good serial would), and Grace finds herself in a terrible position – and it’s getting worse with each passing minute. When Blake and Jack come to the rescue, we see Blake’s tough-as-nails exterior soften a little – he really does care about (dare I say love?) Grace. We learn a little bit more about the mystery surrounding Grace, her grandmother’s house, and the mysterious break-ins, but so many questions are still to be answered. We also get a dose of sexy time, superbly written, as usual :)

I’m excited for part 6 (though it’s not coming soon enough), and can’t wait to read how Cari & Taryn answer all the lingering questions.

Book 5 is all the plot twists, with a hella lot of sexual frustration.

Grace or AKA Nancy Drew, is a master of getting into trouble. Of course, with a man like Blake coming (in more ways than one) to her rescue, I probably would take some chances too! …In the last book, Blake was suspicious of everyone, including Grace. The reality of almost losing someone is hopefully the wake up call and kick in the butt that Blake needs to finally get his emotions in check and be honest with Grace. But, in Grace fashion, she isn’t going to make that so easy. I think she is just as afraid to finally love him as he is to love her.
Either way, we have good ole Annabelle keeping life juicy for everyone with her secret diary.
I seriously can’t imagine how this series can wrap up with only one more book. It will have to be a full length novel in my opinion. Or maybe I just want more Blake and Grace and their amazing chemistry. I honestly can’t read fast enough with all the secrets, lies, mystery, and light your panties on fire sex.

Wow, I have so many questions and I can't wait for the final volume to get my answers. In vol 5 we have Graces pov. We start with her stuck in the cove by her grandmas old house. She thinks her grandma hid something in there. Instead of finding anything, she ends up getting stuck and has to be rescued and taken to the hospital.

Her getting hurt has made Blake soften towards Grace and she isn't sure what to make of this new Blake. After she's released she talks Blake into going back to the cove. They both had read her grandmas diary and Grace just knows there's something hidden in the cove.

When they find what was hidden and dry it out, when they get back to Blake's a few days later to see what is on it, Blake finds his house was broken into. Whoever is breaking in is after the diary. After some help to get past all the password inscriptions they find a video from Graces grandma stating Grace is in danger.

This is where we end this vol and its left me with more questions and I can't wait to get the answers and see who the bad guys are and what they are after.

Another great installment in The Boss series from Cari Quinn and Taryn Elliott! The Boss Vol. 5 is a quick read and well-written. If you haven’t read Parts 1-4 in the series yet, DO IT!

We were left with a huge cliffhanger at the end of the last book so this one, told from Grace’s POV, begins with her trapped in a cove that was one of her grandmother’s favorite spots. With the freezing tide rising in the cove, she fears that no one will find her in time, but of course Blake (and Jack!) comes to her rescue. Through the rest of this part of the story, we find out more about her grandmother’s diary, learn about a mysterious “item” that might give away more clues about what’s going on, and see a lot more of the developing relationship and feelings between Grace and Blake. I love that we are starting to see a deeper and more caring side to Blake.

The Boss continues to give us suspense, romance, heat, and another ending that will leave you begging for the next (and last) book in the series to come out!

Love is a challenge

How can it get any better? Grace is fighting for love and Blake is doing what he thinks is right. Sometimes those two don't line up, but getting to read through their journey towards each other is a beautiful thing. The love scenes are steamy!
