Professional interrogator Greg Hartley teams up with Maryann Karinch to help women know what men are thinking. Learn how to read a man's body language, understand his non-verbal clues and ask key questions that trigger telling reactions.
Gregory Hartley's expertise as an interrogator first earned him honors with the United States Army. More recently, it has drawn organizations such as the Defense Intelligence Agency, Navy SEALS, Federal law enforcement agencies, and national TV to seek his insights about "how to" as well as "why." He resides near Atlanta, Georgia.
I found this book in an abandoned pile and figured I'd give it a go. I could not even get through one chapter because it drips with sexism. It has two authors listed but so far is written by the man for heterosexual women. He basically says he can manipulate almost any woman to date him thanks to his interrigation techniques and follows it up with semi legitimate points sprinkled throughout insulting and degrading judgements.
For example he starts asking you to examine why you might like "sex-symbol handsome" men and the options are all pretty terrible but the second one is not only that you have low self esteem and it makes you feel better to snag an established good looking guy, but that in his experience this is the most common response.
I'm not interested in reading a book of mansplaining by an author who clearly considers women to be easily manipulated and typically have low self-esteem, especially one about relationships. Perhaps he finds women malleable because he hits on women with low self esteem specifically?
Not a bad book, per se, and there were interesting things about the differences between men and women and their communication styles, but I just didn't want to slog through many of the details. I just don't need to know everything there is to know about what he's thinking based on where he places his beer on the table or how he crosses his legs. I'll just take my chances with my own instincts, thanks!
