I don’t believe in destiny.

In fate.

Or in soul mates.

But I believe in Hawke.

My life has never been whole since my parents left forever. I have my brother, someone I can barely tolerate most of the time, and I have my best friend, Marie.

And I have myself.

But when Hawke walks into my life, there’s an immediate connection. Our eyes lock and an unspoken conversation is exchanged. For the first time in my life, I actually feel something.

But he doesn’t.

He keeps me at arm’s length and pretends there’s nothing between us when there clearly is. I’m not the kind of girl to wait around for any guy, so I don’t.

But that doesn’t mean he isn’t in the back of my mind.

Our paths cross again in a way neither one of us expect and it changes everything. Was it destiny that made it happen? Was it fate?

Or was something else?

Please note...updated review

This book, the teaser, was enjoyable. Both the hero and heroine were characters you can get behind. Both have their own hurts/pasts but they aren't over the top crazy. Despite Teaser being in the title I didn't really get that this wasn't a complete book. It does have a good length and great story but we are left unfulfilled when it comes to this couple. The great thing is, the teaser was free and right now you can preorder the next book for only 99 cents. Great deal. Looking forward to the next book and hopefully we will get the HEA.

Okay I need to update because my review for the teaser totally went under the full length book, which by the way was a total disappointment. This is going to be a serial novel type thing. I didn't mind the low price for the first book, but if each subsequent installment is going to be in the 3.99 price range, well this will be an expensive week getting through this couple's relationship.

Hawke was a total disappointment in this book and our heroine is simply ridiculous for putting up with his behavior. She acts all tough but all he needs to do is push her up against a wall and apparently he can sex away any of her problems. Ugh. The end of this book is a cliffhanger, no HEA and honestly I have no idea how long it is gonna take to get there. Considering I am not a huge fan of either main character, I think I will be done.

If you know me, you know I am not giving out 5 stars to often... but this book. Omg, this book!!

Holy crap!! I can't breathe that book was so good!! I am dying!!

I didn't know what to expect with this book. I went into it blindly.

Francesca and Hawke are beyond amazing with their chemistry. This is an amazing story about two people who's past have damaged them, and find solace in each other.

When this book ended, I was like "NOOOOOOOOO"! I need more asap. I looked up the next one and was so happy it was out!! I am so addicted to this series, it isn't even funny!

My star rating for MONDAY is: 4 1/2 out of 5 stars! :)

My ‘Blogging Reader’s Review’ after reading an
ARC Copy of ‘MONDAY’(via: BooksMoviesFandoms.wordpress.com):

“Monday” is the first novel of the Timeless Series by author E. L. Todd. This is my first time reading this author’s work and it definitely was not a disappointment. This book is of the New Adult genre as well as a Contemporary Romance. Readers will be reading “Monday” through the two main character’s P.O.V.’s(point of views) which are Francesca “Frankie” and Theodore “Hawke”.

Francesca “Frankie” works at a local coffee shop and is a student at the nearby university. She has dreams of one day opening her own bake shop business, which comes from her love of baking that she learned from her grandma “Yaya”. Dating isn’t really on her mind but when her flirty best friend Marie talks her into flirting with a regular mysterious customer that comes into the coffee shop, she decides to give flirting a try. As she gets to know the really attractive guy at the coffee shop, she becomes interested in getting to know more about him. There’s one problem: His mixed signals are very hard to read.

Hawke is a very simple man when it comes to women. He doesn’t mislead them in any way. Only pleasure is the mutual enjoyment he’ll share with them for a short time but no strings attached is the only way he’ll do that. There is something about beautiful Frankie from the coffee house. She’s sweet but confident and there’s a natural sexiness that just draws him in. He doesn’t keep an emotional distance to hurt anyone. Hawke keeps his walls up because there are dark secrets he keeps to himself that he doesn’t ever want to show someone if he were to risk getting close to them.

After an evening together of what feels like a genuine growing connection, the night ends on a strange and confusing note. This leaves Frankie wondering “What went wrong?” When Frankie finds herself in a surprising predicament, she has to find a way to maneuver herself around the holidays and the surprises she finds when she visits her family. Will Hawke give Frankie a chance or is he destined to never truly know what love is? What are the secrets that Hawke is keeping about his life? How will Frankie deal with her brother Axel’s surprise?

“Monday” is such an emotional roller-coaster. It takes you on a tail-spin of highs and lows. Francesca “Frankie” is a strong female character with a few flaws. Hawke is a mysterious man with dark reasons for why he keeps his distance but there is more to him. He’s a very passionate person but carries a darkness that will either consume him or force him to fight that part of himself once and for all. There is something alluring about reading a story with such strong characters with many imperfections. You can’t help but hope they get things right. I do recommend this novel for anyone who can accept reading a story about intense, imperfect and raw characters who expose a kaleidoscope of feelings due to their background of heartache or cruelty. A few notes for readers: This story ends on somewhat of a Cliffhanger and there is talk of abuse in the story. Check this one out when you’re looking for the next intense and intriguing novel to read! ;)

My star rating for MONDAY is: 4 1/2 out of 5 stars! :)

Monday was a very interesting read, it was different than what I usually read. I enjoy the amount of flirting between Francesca and Hawke. From a first glance I never would have thought that Hawke would date Francesca because she doesn't seem to be his type

For Francesca, I never thought she would fight to keep Hawke, but Hawke has his own inner demons to fight and it's one of the reasons why he won't commit to a relationship. Honestly Hawke's life is filled with sadness and darkness that I think being with Francesca that it's bring the light into his darkness.

Throughout the book, it was clear that neither one of them wanted to let go of this instant chemistry they had towards one another, as the relationship seems to progress Hawke's demons were slowing coming out and all Hawke wanted to do was stuff them back into the closet where they belong.

The ending was kind of frightening that changed the dynamic of the story, I'm not a huge huge fan of the ending only because it was so one-sided and off put but it did leave for a cliff hanger. So I guess now we'll see what will happen in the next journey of Francesca and Hawke.

I give this 4 Cat Paws, overall I like it, the ending didn't fall smoothly to me but again it left for a cliff hanger and wait for the next book.

I am a fan of E.L Todd and this book was a good and I am glad to read a different plot this time around. This story is about characters, Frankie and Hawke, and it tells the story of their journey of accepting that they maybe soul mates. I enjoyed this story but there were a few things that i did not like about this story. Let me start with the positives...The book was written really well and i did not see any grammatical errors. The characters were fully developed and i understood the choices that were made about their relationship. The story was interesting, well rounded and it kept my attention throughout the entire book. Now lets move on to the negative elements...I loved that Frankie was a strong female character but at times, she became really annoying to me. Towards the end of the book, the story sorta slowed down for me and the conversation between Frankie and Hawke was really cheesy. One of the major turn off for me in this book was the skipping of the development of their friendship. It mentions that they are best friends but it doesn't show how their relationship got to that point. Other than a couple flaws the book was a good read and I recommend that you give this book a chance.

I was unsure of what to make of this book until I read blurbs for the rest of the series and I was intrigued.

I loved how the relationship between Frankie and Hawke developed the way it does from a date,to friends,to more, but was their relationship going to last past Hawke's rule of 1-2 weeks tops?

It's not every day the hot guy that comes into your work and agrees to go on a date, so when Frankie and Hawke go on their date and they hit off with off the scale levels of chemistry, it shocks her when she's doesn't hear from him again.

When she goes to her grandmother's Yaya for the holidays, her brother brings his friend - Hawke.

The more time they actually spend together they become friends, each foregoing their growing feelings for each other. The reason Hawke choose his lifestyle has to do with his parents, even though he tries not too he can't help but fall for Frankie, whose family's story isn't the best.

Will Frankie and Hawke be able to make it work or will their family's play a part? Will there be more heartache or will they get a happy ever after, I guess we wil just have to see what happens in Tuesday, they do say take each day as they come after all.

I received this book in return for my honest opinion.

Sweet novella

Great characters, a friend to lovers romance.

Hawke is a manwhore a guy who uses women and never takes it further.

Frankie is sweet works in a coffee shop with the dream of one day running her own.

Hawke is a customer at the coffee shop and after her first date the furthest Hawke got was a kiss on the porch but Franki remains friends with Hawke rather than loose him from her life.

Both characters feel a strong connection and you're shouting at Hawke in your head to put his big girl panties on and take a chance on love.

With an abrupt finish you don't get to the hea but there's promise of a sweet romance to come.

Would I read more and follow the story? Definitely

The cover? I just need to express my feelings on this, I love the cover but this guy works in an office wearing a suit, Hawkes name and the cover portrays more of a fighter romance or bad boy. Hawke was sweet just misguided with no real role models so the cover doesn't match what I have read.

Loved the characters and their back story's and the direction the whole plot was going.

Beautiful!!!

I received this book in exchange for an honest review. I had never read anything from E.L. Todd so I didn't know what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised. I loved this story with Frankie and Hawke. It kept me wanting to read more. When I got to the last page, I was bummed because I wanted to keep reading it.

We all have issues that affect our lives. Dealing with mental and physical abuse is horrifying. I am glad that Hawke and Frankie became friends and had each other to talk to.

Hawke is Nutso

The prequel to the Timeless series is quite attention grabbing but Hawke to me has serious mental issues and his behavior toward Francesca is very questionable. I hope the series goes uphill and not fall apart.

My heart laughed, loved, melted and cried. This series had me at page one, and the characters are so full of life that you forget that this is a story and not real life. I will have to say I am overwhelmed with Hawke and Francesca aka Frankie. My heart loves these two and truly hope that they come together and make it happily ever after. I wish I could have love in my life to this degree and to be able to keep it forever. I love E L Todds writing style she is amazing and to be completely honest she has become my all time favourite writer to read. I hope you pick up the book and enjoy it as much as I have.

Monday from E.L. Todd was a great 4 star read.
I was emotionally exhausted after this read, quite the rollercoaster of emotions.
Frankie meets Hawke at the coffee shop she works at. After Hawke visits the shop several times, Frankie gets up the nerve to ask him out for a drink.
I had a date with Mr. Handsome.

Moving forward, the chemistry that these two have is awesome. They both have things from their past that they are dealing with. Hawke has fears that he will end up like his father and is struggling with this. Will they be able to make their relationship work?

The secondary characters were great and added a great element to the story. Loved, Marie.
Monday does end on a cliffhanger and will leave you wanting more. I highly recommend you 1-click and get started today. Thank you E.L. Todd for another great read.

Beauty is as beauty does

This was my first read by Author E. L. Todd. The storyline was solid. There were no grammatical errors that would distract from the story. The story is written in two person point of view. The language is clear and the book kept my attention.

Francesca is a 22 year old college student studying business. She has a job working at a coffee shop with her best friend, Marie. She and Marie share a townhouse/flat. Francesca has an older brother named Axel. The two orphans lost their parents and were raised by their Yaya, Greek for grandmother. Axle and Francesca bicker like toddlers. Both are so busy that they only really spend time at the holidays. Francesca would like to find love. She needs that connection that builds a spark into a flame slowly. Axle is happy with bam, slam, thank you ma'am connections. Period.

Enter Hawke. Mysterious guy in business wear that frequents the coffee shop. Always has black coffee, maybe a bite, grabs a booth and on the computer he goes. Marie notices him first. He's a knockout who she always takes his order but to him she's invisible. One day Francesca takes his order and he notices in his own way. He talks casually and smiles but mostly he stares at her. They both can feel something special there but a misunderstanding occurs when she asks him on a date and he backs away. He is 26, has a Masters degree and is an intern at an investment firm. He and Axel have the same dating philosophy with a very strict no relationship policy. Beneath his dark eyes of blue lies a pain, shame and secret he will take to his grave.

In this book, we travel through the characters lives from Francesca and Hawke's point of view. Watch how everyone's actions affect each other. Can people change for the better? All friendships do not come easy. Can you forge one with a person who doesn't know how? They say Apple's don't fall far from the tree. Is this true? What effect does that have on a person?

I really enjoyed this read. I did not find it boring, in fact I read it within a few hours. I needed to find out constantly what happens next. I found myself falling into each character and identifying with their lifestyle, choices and results. I became emotionally invested. I should also warn you some parts may be triggers, at least it was for me. Some might call this a standalone. For me, the story is not completed. I hope you enjoy this adventure.

Spectacular.

This is the first thought that comes to mind when I think about this book. I've been in a serious book funk. Every book I have been reading lately are good...but they aren't filling me with the happiness I once felt. As a book lover, saying that pains me because reading is my escape. I knew I needed just one book to get me to fall in love with reading all over again, and this was the perfect book to achieve that.

One of the things I love about this book was the chemistry between Hawke and Frankie (Francesca). From the moment I read about their meeting, I knew there could be something so special that can blossom between them. And when they became friends, magic happened. Most books these days has the hero and heroine falling for each other early, which there's nothing wrong with, but sometimes I like to see friendship occur in the relationship before the characters fall in love. I guess it's because it feels more real when there's a friendship and respect already established. It makes the relationship much more interesting because you know they'll always be there for each other and truly care for the other.

I seriously couldn't put this book down! I stayed up until four in the morning, even though I had work in the morning, because this book was that good. Even the cliffhanger, which this book does have, was outstanding and I wanted to throw my phone at the wall because I want the next book so, so bad! I'm dying to know what happens next between Hawke and Francesca.

I highly recommend this book to everyone. Especially readers who love interesting and unique romance novels. If you haven't read a book by this author before, I highly recommend that you do. I have read four books from this author so far and I have loved every book, each one being better than the last. Trust me when I say this series is something you should check out. One of my favorite books I have ever read and best book I read this year! Looking forward to more books by this talented author.

(Source: I received this book directly from the Author, in exchange for my honest opinion and review. )

You don’t need to believe in fate, destiny or soul mates. But Francesca believes in Hawke. He fills the void in her life that was left by the death of her parents. And a brother she isn't close too.
Hawke awakens something deep within that make Francesca feel again. Sadly Hawke only wants women for one thing and that's to use them and walk away. No commitment.

As I began to read this book, the first thought that came to mind was… Predictable.
I knew what the story line was going to entail, as soon as Hawke appeared. But don’t let this fool you or put you off. Ohh nooo. It may be a little bit predictable but still a blooming great read! Which is exactly what you will expect from E.L Todd. I have never yet been disappointed with one of her books.

Yes, this story is based on your average adorable girl, living an ordinary life, cramming in an Education and a good steady job.

Then you have the hot sexy, cocky man whore. With issues. Who spends most of his life using women for one thing. Male Slut Alert.
But you can not help but love Hawke! Deep down he is vulnerable needy and completely unsure of himself.

Francesca, I adored she is an open, easy going character, that just makes your heart melt. She brings forth my personal feelings in life, of the sacrifice and all the ***** you will take for Love.

E.L.Todd writes very well; She has a great imagination and way of expressing this on paper. I very much enjoyed Hawkes and Francesca's story, which is so full of up’s and down’s it leaves you feeling light headed. I found it quite an emotional read to be honest where some of the scenes touched me emotionally. I loved the ending OMG what a way to end a book! It certainly leaves your heart feeling shattered.

Overall Monday is a great read that I thoroughly recommend. If you haven’t yet picked up an E.L.Todd book, then do! As always I will continue to read and enjoy her books… Bring on Tuesday!

Monday was an emotional rollercoaster, at times I didn’t know whether to laugh, cry, or hit Hawke. This story hits it all. I have always been a fan of E.L. Todd; she pours so much into her characters. These are people with issues that you can relate to.

We meet Frankie and Hawke, two totally different people who have that spark connection that has them drawn to each other like moths to light. Frankie is looking for long term, love, and a future. Hawke not so much, he is everything wrong that you could possibility have in a person.

Hawke tries to stay away, not wanting to bring Frankie into his circle, his horrible life with his temper, but they keep being thrown together. Their banter was great, they actually took the time being friends and getting to know one another before the relationship moved forward. They knew each other inside and out.

Hawke’s family is messed up while Frankie’s family has overcome tragedy. She tries to remain positive in life while working for more. Frankie keeps after Hawke until he starts changing for the better for them.

During one night out, a former flame comes on strong and Hawke is there to the rescue. His rescue though is rough and out of control. This causes a lot to happen in a little time. Their whole relationship is being reevaluated by both. My belly seriously wasn’t feeling it during this time.

Hawke leaves. He just leaves. He tries to leave without Frankie even knowing, the snake but she knows. As her heart is breaking, he gets in his truck and heads off to his new job, new area, new life.

I am anxiously waiting to read the next book in the series. E.L. does great trapping you and keeping you tangled until the end in this one. Her story telling is remarkable and keeps you interested while you become invested with these characters.

Monday is a book on young love. Not high school young love, but young adult love.

The main character of the story, Frankie as she goes by is in college working on her business degree but has another passion. Frankie is working at a coffee shop in town and loves to cook and bake and do all Martha Stewart type cooking at home and in this bakery. She does work with another young lady who is also her roommate. Both girls are completing their bachelors degree and are about to be out in the real world. Frankie dreams of opening her own bakery shop one day.

A man in his twenties is coming through the coffee shop pretty regularly. Frankie just knows he comes to check out her roommate, Marie. However, Hawke likes her. Hawke is slow with asking her out, however he does show up at the. Coffee shop daily, where they chat. Frankie does ask out Hawke. They go out and have a great time together, however he never calls or sees her again for several weeks.

Frankie goes to her grandmothers- YaYa's for Thanksgiving. Her brother - Axel shows up with a friend who is none other than Hawke. Hawke and Frankie do have a stressful time together those few days together. Frankie and Hawke do start talking and become friends.

Once back in the real world, they do start hanging out and being around each other. Only as friends though nothing more. They enjoy each other's company and enjoy being around each other.

Hawke and Frankie like each other, but as Axel is a factor in their relationship they aren't sure if they should / shouldn't get together. Frankie and Hawke both have family issues that have shaped them into how they are today.

This book will leave you wanting more.

This book leaves you with a cliffhanger, that you will be wanting to read the next book straight away, I know because I do.

Francesca is a very independent girl and doesn’t like to be told what to do especially by a man. She lost her parents at a young age and is left with her brother Axle and Yaya. Yaya has taught her everything she knows about baking. She is funny and loves to bake, she is hoping to open her own bakery when she finishes University.

Hawke is a man that has a lot of dark secrets that he doesn’t want to share with anyone, but he does with Francesca. He works with her brother Axle. He doesn’t do relationships, he just sleeps with girls until he gets bored with them and moves onto the next one until he meets Francesca.

They have a special bond that no one can understand especially her friend Marie and her brother Axle.

Axle is the same as Hawke, a player and he doesn’t want them together and tries talking to both of them but it doesn’t help.

They start a relationship but things always seem to get in the way, and he doesn’t want to bring her down with him.

I really loved this book and it has me hooked, so I can’t wait to read the whole series.

I recommend that everyone read this series because you will enjoy it and won’t be able to put it down.

This book is the story of Francesca and Hawke. Fransceca and Hawke meet in the coffee shop where she works. At first he is just like any other customer but Francesca eventually works up the nerve to ask him out on a date. I was smiling so much because her nervousness and quirky way of flirting just had me giggling. She’s a independent and really feisty female, she has clearly been through a lot and I love how she’s still facing life.

I love her friend Marie as she’s so supportive of Francesca and Axel who is Francesca’s brother is pretty awesome too.

I love Hawke, he’s been brought up in an abusive house with an abusive father. It breaks my heart that he thinks that he could be like his dad which in turn is his reason for being the way he is. I honestly read this book with my heart breaking at so many intervals.

He is determined to not do relationships but there is something about Frankie that kind of throws that plan out of the window. He is worthy of love but he doesn’t believe it. I won’t spoil what happens but I will say that for a EL Todd newbie, I’m loving this book!

There is just something so relatable and real when it comes to to these characters. They’ve wormed their way into my heart and I’m so so so so excited to read the next one!

This book is a slow burn, it took me a while to warm to the characters and settle into the story but once I did I mushed right in like a comfy sofa.

That ending what the actual fuck!!!

Honestly I was struggling with this story towards the end and was really hoping she didn’t just accept Hawkes escalating behaviour. I honestly don’t feel like he was going to be abusive towards her but he obviously has some issues that he needs help with.

For the first time ever I’m glad this book ends with a cliff hanger. That’s possibly the first time a book didn’t end with an immediate hea and I’ve been ok with it.

As a couple I really like Hawke and Frank together I enjoy the burn and passion and even when they fight it’s intense and harsh. But at the end of the day they are obviously in love and perfect for one another.

I enjoyed the friendship part of their relationship too; it was lovely watching them build something that wasn’t entirely based on sex.

I think I get this book, I was doubting but now I think I get it and I’m so intrigued to see where this story goes.

Monday gets 4 stars from me.

A great novella that grabs you by the hand and runs away with you.

Francesca works in a coffee shop and attends college. One day Hawke comes in for coffee and they talk briefly and she asks him on a date.
They go on their date and Hawke tells Frankie he is bad news and can't see her again.

Her brother brings a friend to their Yaya's (grandmother ) for Thanksgiving and it just so happens to be Hawke. Frankie and Hawke spend a lot of time talking over the holiday weekend.

Hawke has a dark past that he doesn't share with anyone. He can't deny the pull towards Francesca or how they understand each other so well.

I love this novella as there are so many thoughtful gestures between the characters and emotions that every couple faces.
It will leave you wanting more and anticipating the release of the book.

Awhile back I read the free teaser for this book. I was hooked instantly and pre-ordered the full book so I had it on release day. I will admit, I had no idea this would be a series. As I was nearing the end, and my anxiety was in full force, I kept thinking to myself “OMG, it’s really going to end like this” I finished the last chapter and on the next page saw an advertisement for Tuesday. I don’t know if my mouth dropping open was because I was shocked to discover I’m now invested in another book series, or that I’m happy the story will continue. Oh who am I kidding – it’s both. I can’t wait to keep going.

Update: I read Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. This was a great story. I seriously couldn't put it down. So many emotional moments for Frankie, Hawke and also Kyle. You can't help but want happiness for everyone although that can't happen when only 2 can 'win'.
