Charlie has her entire life planned out. She is living out her dream of playing football on an all women's football team while attending a four year college to become a school teacher. With all of her time being split in several directions between schoolwork, practice, homework, and football games, she never thought she would meet a woman where and when she least expected it. Holly Larson was perfect. Sweet, smart, beautiful and at the right time at the right place. She's everything that Charlie could ever want or hope for, but is she too good to be true? If you're a fan of Rachel Maldonado's other books, you'll want to add this one to your collection!

Honestly, I really couldn't get into the book. I was looking forward to this read but I couldn't even finish the book. The "relationship" manifested way too quick, seemed quite unrealistic. I was halfway through the book hoping to connect with someone, anyone in the story, but nothing. I wasn't a fan of the over description of scenes at times either; I don't need to know every detail of an interaction when it does nothing to further the story. The cheesy factor was too much for me in this book.
I thought this book was just so-so. The story was ok, but the writing seemed juvenile. Not sure I'll buy another of this author's books. At least not without reading reviews first.
I love women who play sports so I was super excited to read this story. This story happened way too fast. They were in love like less than a week after meeting and acting like the other person died when they got into a fight. The whole story took place in less than a month it seemed like. There was no buildup to their first kiss, no buildup to them falling in love, just none for any of it. I wanted to stop reading a couple chapters in, but I felt like I had already committed so I quick read the rest.
Women playing football?! Sign me up. Too bad the writing didn't live up to the concept. Too much telling rather than showing, stilted sentence structure, and repetitive use of verbs like "grinned" and "teased" every time a character says something...
This was a good, quick read from a fellow author and friend. Being on the downhill side of middle age, young adult/new adult lesfic books aren't generally my thing but I can certainly see the appeal here. I do love football though and I'd have liked even more of that but we do get some. I did find a recurring 'technical' error with the dialog with regards to football that I pointed out to the author. It doesn't spoil the fun but any avid fan would pick up on it.
I think the women needed to be more honest with each other from the beginning. I wouldn't like it if someone kept secrets from me. The story does have a happily ever after ending.
Winning or losing depends on what you gain the most.
Two opposites play football and they have to make a decision as to enjoy each other company and not be accused of throwing the game. Tough decision.Enjoy!
This is a story about females playing football (not the soccer one) & falling in love after meeting & flirting at the dentist office. Cute, short story about finding, feeling, following & fighting for love.
This was an engaging storyline. I enjoyed the unfolding relationship. The dialogs are witty and the characters are likeable. It is a light read, romantic, entertaining and funny. Football is not the main story but the red thread running through the story. Football can be very dangerous for their relationship but if you play it fair it can bring you happiness too. I liked the way things happened naturally and how this story played out. Is it possible when you've lost that you are still a winner? I highly recommend this book and lovers of women football will not be disappointed.
This was an adorable story! I did not know about women semi pro football leagues and now I know we have a local team down in Albuquerque ! Go figure! The things you learn from reading these books! Well done!
