REVENGE CAN LEAVE A BITTER TASTE IN ONES MOUTH
Arabella Dufour, 13 years old, has been in love with Ulric Griffin, 19 years old, but he has eyes for her older cousin, Mirabelle. She thinks that if she tells her father he kissed her, that a marriage will be forced, but that doesn’t happen. Forward nine years, Arabella has been betrothed to a stranger, Lord John of Terryn. She meets him at the alter, they are married, and then she is whisked away to his home three days away. He is cruel and his goal is to make her life miserable. These two are like oil and water and in a constant battle of wills. Sometimes love can be realized when you least expect it. The plot is full of anger, secrets, revenge, attempted escapes, bitterness, punishments and eventually acceptance.

This was a wonderful tale of a very young girl having a crush on an older man, lies to her father, and young man banished from the castle. When the girl comes of age she is married to a knight from the north who's wealth and vast lands can keep her in the style she's use too. But she can't forget the young man who she loved since she was a child. Will she find happiness with her husband? Will she continue to want her lost love? No spoilers, fun read, lots of action and adventure and of course, love.

Talk about holding a grudges, a young girl was in love with a old boy, and said something that got him babies from the castle, instead of her papa making him marry her. Years go bye and the same boy now know has John has requested to marry her. And her father says yes. With betrayal and revenge, will Arabella and John find happiness and most of all love. My heart was going a mile a minute through this whole story, very well written. I do highly recommend reading lost love. I was given this story for a honest review.

Arabelle is one of those characters that you have to love as her spirit and stubbornness earn her one spanking after another. I expected some darkness in this story, but there was none; the bitter Lord John doled out only well deserved discipline to his disobedient, reckless wife. The plot kept moving and kept me well entertained; the emotional conflict within John and the amusing antics of Arabelle made the story enjoyable and easy to read. I highly recommend it.

A tale of young unrequited love, revenge, and finally true love, set in the middle ages. I truly enjoyed this book, especially the vivid descriptions of life during this time period. The hero and heroine end up in an unhappy union which includes strict rules, tantrums and punishments. The HEA is hard won and worth it. My only qualm, was that the hero did not take the heroine's age at the time of the offense, into enough consideration.

I enjoyed this book by Maryse Dawson. The dynamic between the H/h was very good and I love a story where I wonder what will happen next and not predict it early on.
