The characters in the panyee football club learned never give up. They never give up. They built their own soccer field. They did not have good equipment. They had obstacles during the gym.
They built their own pitch. They collected wood. They collected old fishing rafts. They worked everyday after school to finish the pich.
They did not have good equipment. The pitch was shaky, uneven and had nails sticking out everywhere. The ball was gow in the water making the pitch slippery. They did not have shoes or a uniform but were going to play anyway.
They faced obstacles during the tournament. It was raining heavily drawing the semi final game. Water filled their boots making them heavy to run in. They had to play bear foot because to much water in their shus The other team wes up by 2 goals at half time.
Now as I think that panyee football club I realize that hard work pays off. They worked hard to make their pitch. They praks all the time. In the game they never gave up.

A Bad Case of the Stripes is about a young girl who refuses to be herself. She refuses to eat lima beans because she knows her peers will think she’s weird. However, she loves lima beans. It’s the first day of school and Camilla wakes up covered in rainbow stripes. Her doctor could not give a diagnosis or a cure and sent her to school At school, Camilla’s skin changed at the requests of her peers and she was made into a joke. She was suspended from school for being a distraction and her condition became worse. Doctors, specialists, experts, and more could not help Camilla. When the situation was at its worst, a little old woman came to save the day. And the cure? Lima beans. Camilla came to terms with herself and ate lima beans in front of all of her friends, despite the criticism she received. She was relieved to be stripe free!

I love this book. The storyline is extremely creative and fun. The illustrations were excellent and very detailed. This was my favorite book to read as an elementary student.

This book could be used as a fun read. It could also be used to teach students how to properly use descriptive words or draw detailed illustrations. It also teaches children to accept themselves despite their differences. I would 100% recommend this book.

A Bad Case of the Stripes is the book I read and am reviewing, It wouldn't let me select the book individually. A Bad Case of the stripes is a Caldecott winning book. The book is about the main character Camilla who loves lima beans but is afraid to eat them in front of kids at school. She wakes up one morning with colorful stripes all over her body. It continues and weird things keep happening. Every doctor in the area can't figure out what is wrong with her. The school asks her to stay at home for what's going on is undiagnosed and other kids think she's weird. Finally a little old lady thinks she can help. She tells Camilla to eat a big plate of lima beans which she wants to and loves but says no because she is still scared of what others think. She finally eats them and goes back to normal. This book is very unique but keeps young learners engaged and wanting to Read more. It also teaches a valuable lesson that just because someone else doesn't like something doesn't mean you need to pretend or hide what you like because of fear of being made fun of.

The content of the book teaches a lesson that you should not let what people think affect what you threw telling a story about a girl covered in stripes. The book is great if the child can understand what exactly is going on in the story. In the story Camilia the main character is so worried about the outfit she wears to school that she changed it 47 times. She also really wanted to eat lima beans but she feared that the kids at her school would laugh at her. The next day she woke up covered from head to toe in stripes no one could actually find out what was wrong with her. The kids at school laughed at her, they had doctors and scientists poke her but the only thing she needed was sow good lima beans. I gave this book five stars because The children can relate to this book being stuck at home during the Covid pandemic and not knowing when they're going back to school or going to be able to go back into the world without a mask. The illusions in this book were awesome with the girl and the strips and how they changed and spread all over her room.

A young girl is having trouble wanting to fit in with her classmates. They all dislike lima beans but she loves them as is desperate for their approval. Before the first day of school, she comes down with a bad case of the stripes and her body begins to go through a different change everyday. No doctor can figure out what is wrong or if there is a cure. Following the common concept, she desires to be like everyone else in her class and struggles showing off her uniqueness. She needs to have the want and drive to love herself no matter what. On page 136 of Nodelman’s ‘Decoding the Images’ of picture books, he talks about visual objects that evoke meaning. When she starts transforming, she begins to turn into things that we normally would classify as weird or unnatural. This makes the reader see her as that instead of the human being beneath it all. The cycle of her desire to be liked persists on coming up out of the pages. A lot of times, we prejudge someone based on their appearance and that notion was ingrained into her which is why she was trying so hard to be like the others.

A Bad Case of the Stripes: This book features a young girl who just wants to fit in with her friends. As she begins to change herself to fit in (such as not eating lima beans because her friends do not like lima beans), she only begins to stick out more. She is covered in stripes! These stripes begin to change and grow even crazier and crazier. She soon begins to wonder if she will ever heal from the bad case of the stripes.
The illustrations in this book bring the words to life. While at first, it may be hard to imagine what a girl looks like covered in stripes, it doesn't take much imagination because soon she is displayed and covered in stripes.
Between the descriptive story and the even brighter pictures, I rate this book a 5 star rating. I think any child will love this book, even if it is on the longer side. The pictures will help keep any child entertained as they question if she will ever get better from the stripes.

The book I read was A Bad Case of the Stripes
This is a great book about being yourself and having self-confidence. I really enjoyed the book. I found the book on the story online. I played it for myself and my students who really enjoyed the book. The pictures are authentic and shown directly from the book. The story is read by an actor but I enjoyed the different voices the actor displayed, it added character to the book. When I read the hard copy of the book from the library I found myself using some of the expressions the actor used.
The story is full of fantasy and mystery about who the child is going through the stripes and different shapes just to be somebody else and not enjoy eating lima baens. I like how the story is set up with a plot, setting, and author point of view but it's fun for children grades 2-5th.
I highly recommend it.

(Reviewing 'A Bad Case of the Stripes')

I think this book was very fun and would be sure to grab the attention of many younger students since I am sure they would have never seen something like this before. I did not, however, like that almost all the doctors that Camilla went to see were all older white men with the exception of one person of color. I think this portrays the message that the only people who are smart enough to become doctors are middle aged white men and that is not a message I want to give to my students. I want them to understand that anyone can be a doctor if they work hard enough.

While I think many students might enjoy this book, I do not feel I would use this book in my classroom.

A Bad Case of the Stripes is about a young girl who is always worrying about what others think. She worries about what people think of the way she dresses, what she eats, and more. One morning she wakes up to find her body covered head to toe in stripes. When she went to school with the stripes she got laughed at and nobody wanted to be around her. As kids and doctors suggested what could be wrong with her, those things started appearing on her body. It wasn't until an old lady came in and offered her her unpopular favorite food, lima beans, that cured her striped because she was finally able to be herself.

Out of this set of 6 book collection, I have only read A Bad Case of the Stripes. I loved this book as a kid and it was always one that stuck with me. Even though the book is silly and has colorful illustrations, it has a deeper meaning behind it. This book is about loving yourself for who you are and enjoying the things you like. The little girl in the story diminishes her own feelings about lima beans just because other kids don't like them. This causes her to change all sorts of different colors until she realizes the cure is lima beans.

A Bad Case Of The Stripes is the book I am reviewing. This book is one of my favorite reads to describe to children that being different isn't necessarily always a bad thing. This book highlights how being different from everyone else may be embarrassing at first, but after awhile, you begin to realize that being different is totally okay and nothing to be ashamed of. Also, the illustrations for this book are absolutely amazing. I feel as if children would really love the illustrations in this book.

A bad case of the stripes is about a girl who goes to a new school. She is determined to fit in with the others at school. When she wakes up in the morning she is covered in stripes and refuses to go to school. Her mother makes her go and she gets made fun of as the stripes progress. I loved this book it was a fun way to celebrate differences. I would recommend this book to lots of early readers. The diverse character is the main character.

This is my submission for A Bad Case of the Stripes and No, David!. I have long loved ABCotS book and the way it portrays stress and how the ways people portray you and talk about you can affect you/how you talk about someone affects them and other's perspectives and expectations of them.

No, David! is not just a book teaching about good versus bad behavior, but also about parenting and how styles of punishment can affect your child.

I want to review A Bad Case of the Stripes but there is no single book it seems. This book is a childhood classic to those my age and represents how it feels to be sick as a child. I feel like the imagery has stuck with me for years and I really love how accurately scary it can feel. I feel like the words go perfectly with the illustrations.

This story is sweet and creative. I think children would really enjoy reading this because I think a lot of students could relate to the main character in one way or another. The story is about a young girl who is insecure and learns to be at peace with herself and loves who she is! I think this is a playful story that is about self-love and confidence.

David Shannon books are some I believe would be good to have on hand. The books include lessons that would be beneficial for certain situations. I orignially picked this for the book A Bad Case of the Stripes which opens conversation with children about peer pressure and being true to one’s own tastes.

The Bad Case of Stripes is an engaging book for young readers. It has a great lesson, teaching that it is important to not care as much about what others think of you. It is a fun, interesting, humorous story that gives a very valuable lesson to young kids. I really enjoyed this book growing up and lok forward to reading it to my students!

I really liked these books especially the Bad Case of Stripes. These books capture people's attention as they have humor. It also is great for elementary students that go through a lot of challenges. In this book Camilla is worried about what other people think about her. It helps students know that they are not alone.

I read the book, "A Bad Case of Stripes" by David Shannon and I liked this message behind the book about being true to oneself instead of caring so much about what other people think of them. It's a great message and confidence-booster for young children.

no David was one of my favorite books to read when I was little, looking back im not too sure why. it may have been simply because it was easy to read or because I found it funny, but reading it as an adult leaves me wanting more substance from the story itself.

I really like this book! It's about a myth of a girl who has stripes on her body but when people created judgments her skin changed to that pattern. I think it teaches students about bullying.
