Never Trust A Shady Chick

Rate this book
The people closest to you are the ones that hurt you the most. Seventeen year old Shay is forced to learn the hard way about the truth behind that old adage.

From preschool to high school Alize, Kimore, Rima, and Shay were inseparable. Unfortunately, some bonds are meant to be broken.

Alize appoints herself the leader of this so called group of friends. Of all the girls Alize is the most fortunate, but money can’t buy happiness. The expensive clothes, and expensive bags can’t compensate for the misery she is forced to suffer at home. As the animosity in her heart grows so does her jealousy towards her friend Shay.
Shay, the quiet and timid beauty, only wants to be liked and accepted in a society where labels are important, size matters, and the turn up is real. So where would she be without her friends; her ride or dies? Feeling the pressure to be liked and to fit in, Shay allows herself to become Alize’s ‘fun dummy’. Until one day Alize takes things to far with her shady antics forcing Kimore and Rima to choose sides.

Never Trust R Shady Chick

I was not going to put this book down until I got to the end. After the second page I was on the author's page putting in a request for commissary. This book was that good. I wish I could give it more stars, but five is the maximum amount allowed. I was applauding at the end, but I was also sad that the story ended. Excellent job P. Dotson.

This stand alone was great! I've been a fan of P. Dotson for while now and I have yet to be disappointed. Never Trust A Shady Chick was a story full of memorable characters. Shay was a female with low self-esteem and she allowed people, namely Alize, to take advantage of her at every turn. In the beginning, I didn't too much care for Shay because she was so damn weak. It was almost too hard to read about what she allowed people to do and say to her. Once she got a backbone and handled her business, she became a favorite of mine in the story. Kimore, man... this girl was the sh**! I loved her. She was the one and only true friend that Shay had who had her back from day one. I loved everything about Kimore. The only other thing I will say about her is it was heartbreaking. Now, let's get to this Alize chick. This girl was pure evil. I guess you can use the excuse of her up bringing for the reason why she had become the person that she was but, HELL NO! Everyone had a choice to make their own path in life. She chose the wrong path to take. I hated her with a passion. It all caught up to her in the end and I was so glad it came like it did. If you ask me, she deserved much worse. I loved this book. I'm kinda sad that it was a stand alone. It could have easily been a series. Great job as always, P. Dotson.

The shade was definitely REAL in this book!! Alize went through extreme measures just to end up getting played in the end!! What shocked me the most with this book was how unpredictable things were & how much shade was thrown at Shay!! omg...& for her best friend, boyfriend & aunt to suffer like that really made me wanna whoop Alize's ass my damn self. LOL overall this was OUTSTANDING! I enjoyed the drama, suspense & I love how karma smoothed everything out!!

Great great standalone

I have read all of this authors work and she never disappoints. I read this entire book in 1 day. In the beginning Shay got on my last nerves but she finally grew a backbone. I hate that so much tragedy had to happen, this book had me all in my feelings. Poor Kimore and Malik, that damn Alize was certified crazy. If you're looking for a great ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ read, 1 click this.

Overkill

Nothing in this book was remotely believable. Everyone was related and there was just too much killing. Lots of errors. Not my favorite by this author and I can't say that I'd recommend it.

This is my first time reading anything by this author but it WILL NOT be the last!!! I was intrigued from beginning to end and in no way shape or form could I have ever guessed the myriad of twists and turns the author decided to take. It was a never ending ride of surprises. Shay had me literally in tears because she had no self-esteem whatsoever in the beginning of the book. To watch her grow and blossom like an unfurling flower was an amazing thing to see. The fact that she had the undying loyalty and support of her best friend Kimore once again allowed us to see what a sisterhood and best friend relationship should be all about. Kimore wanted the ABSOLUTE Best for Shay in all aspects of her life. The subject matter of the book was haunting to say the least but it was done in such a way that you couldn't help but be riveted and fully invested in the outcome of the storyline. Many people are going to call Alize and Marco the epitome of evil and in many aspects they were. What was so evident and brilliantly woven throughout the story however is that their actions were in many ways the direct result of the abuse and neglect that they suffered at the hands of their parents. Now don't get it twisted they were EVIL and deserved their fates but as a human being you have to look at what the underlying reasons could have been to turn someone so young into a heartless monster. I must say that my hat is off to Ms. P. Dotson. She did an excellent job crafting a story that pulled a host of emotions from the reader. I cried, screamed, laughed, and hollered in my room while reading this book so much so that I think my family thought I was NUTS!!! All in all this book is a testament to the excellence that Ms. Dotson possesses. Again while this is the first book I've read it most certainly will NOT be the last!!!!!

Never Trust a Shady Chick

Lawd Alize pissed me off something serious. I understood being jealous of someone but constantly doing things to ridicule them just because was crazy. She had too many fun dummies and never thought of the consequences her actions would have. I could only say poor Shay! Trying to fit in doesn't always go accordingly and sometimes you just need to learn to walk away. Shay need a backbone more than anything and it took some time but she seemed to get better. Rima had me a little worried but learned from everything nevertheless. Lacey needed her ass beat for what she did to her mom and Loop got what he deserved. It was a good thing Stacey switched things up. Man I was so hurt about Kimore and Malik. I loved them both and the relationship they shared with Shay and Kazee. Marco was a straight disappointment and deserved everything he got and more. I had to smh at SP because he was trifling but came through when it didn't really matter. Kiki went off the deep end for real. Kimmey wasn't playing any games. It seemed that dealing with a shady chick created so many problems all because she wanted to be selfish. Karma definitely came back around to do some damage control but I wish it was before so many lost their lives.

This book should have been title 2 Crazy Nuts. Looking at the title I thought it was going to be some chick messing around with another woman's man, but NO I was wrong. I have never had my face twisted up so much reading. Alize and Marco..no Alize is one heartless, jealous, conniving twisted individual. Its people like her that when they show you their true colors on a day to day you have to stay away from them. She treated Shay like trash, but because Shay heart was good she continued to try. I wanted to just through these pages and help Kimora knock Alize crazy tail out numerous times. Marco was the worst, and Kazee didn't make it any better. When you knowingly know someone has a problem and cover it up, your should blame yourself. Lacey wasn't any better with Loop stankin tail. I can't believe the one person she cared about the most she let his crusty behind talk her into harming her and then her curved her. I've been sitting her contemplating the events that took place and every single one of them got exactly what they deserved. The author did a great job putting it all together especially the revenge.

The shade is real!

Shay, Kimore, Rima, & Alize grew up together but as they got older the dynamics of their friendship changed. Alize continuously throws shade at Shay while Rima is too scared to stand up to her so she joins in. Kimore appears to be the only true friend Shay has; she defends Shay against Alize and her shady ways time and time again. Once Shay begins to gain her confidence, Alize's shadiness goes into overdrive. Unfortunately, Alize wasn't the only shady person Shay had to deal with. There were a few other characters that contributed to the spiraling events that take place. Luckily, Shay also had some other people such as her aunt, a cousin, and a love interest, to help her get through. This read contained nonstop drama and was entertaining from start to finish.

I absolutely enjoyed this book. I did not think it was going to read this way. From beginning to end, it takes you on a exciting ride with the lives of 4 girlfriends who grew up together and how envy ultimately destroyed almost all of the them. There was quite a number of spelling errors however the organization and development was good. The typesetting for Kindle was good and there were no grammatical errors. I recommend the author and editor review the work together to catch those errors or have an independent test reader help with that process.

It is a great stand alone book. This was my first time reading any work from this author and I look forward to reading more from her.

The truth is in the title...
Talk about drama! This book had more than a little bit! Alize was one of the worse, conniving females ever... Just foul! But she led the pack because this book had a plethora of shady people. Storyline was good as violent scenes jumped off the pages & had me feeling as if I was there witnessing the action! Great standalone!

Great book

When I tell you this book is filled with evil people, it's like they were in competition on who could be the worst. This book will make you say OMG how could a person be so evil. The author of this book has a very creative mind to come up with some the things that happened in this book. I really enjoyed reading this book.
