As the title suggests, this book is a collection of fictional tales. The stories in this book range from criticizing former lovers to whales examining post-prison life. Within these pages, you'll find cacti that cannot understand why they don't have friends and home appliances that are quite disturbed . There are characters who have to make choices and characters who just don't know how to do so. The narrator's voices allows for an easy read and a quick way to insert yourself into fantastical worlds. The quirky and absurd writing is perfect for both the light and cruel hearted. READ IF YOU DARE.
Hi! So if you like quick, quirky, bizarre stories which have dollops of interlaced humor, then you've stumbled across the right place. Have an amazing day, as life has so much to offer! As do you, you beautiful gorgeous human!
Quirky. Quick read, finished in 1.5 hours. Some stories were clever and humorous. Others were just odd. If you are looking for a palate cleanser of a book, something that doesn't fit into any one category and requires no real thought process while reading, then this would be worth your time.
I thought that I had left a review for this book after I finished reading it, but apparently I did not, so here it goes. The other reviewers are correct, this is like a stream of conscious. It is full of stories that are random, more random, and WTF random, and I loved every minute of it. I did not pick it up thinking that I was going to learn something deep or fundamental, but I did. I learned to not take yourself seriously, and that maybe I should start writing about my dreams.

I wanted to like this book. I really did. But I could not handle the superfluous ramblings and the authors being weird just for the sake of being weird and different. It was not enjoyable at all and after six or seven attempts at trying to get through it, I tossed it in a box in the back of my closet and will just give it to Goodwill or someone. It was certainly a waste of my time.
I was hoping for a collection of humorous stories, but only a few of the selections met my expectations. This read more like a collection of high school short essay assignments, most were just random thoughts (maybe dreams written down after waking?) It was a quick read and did provide a distraction from the real world.

MY EX BOYFRIEND IS A PIECE OF CR*P AND OTHER WHIMSICAL STORIES BY CHARLI FRISKY, is definitely not your typical piece of literature. Actually, I'm not really sure if it is literature in any sense! One thing about it is though, it is DIFFERENT! I read this book in an hour but took several days trying to figure out what to say in this review, so here goes. It is definitely strange! But in a strange way that makes you want to remember the stories and take a few days to figure out what to say. I guess if I am forced to give an opine on this book I'd say that you definitely have to read it to believe it! I received this book free from goodreads in exchange for a review.
