Hooked Up, the series derives from Arianne Richmonde's patented Pearl Series, so for those who have not read that trilogy should!! While I do believe after reading this, that you can follow easily without prior knowledge to 'Pearl', I highly recommend that you do to receive the full experience.
That all said, bk2 takes place right after bk1 leaves off~~ With Pearl and Alexander's whole relationship on the rocks and in question.
While Alexander feels a sense of betrayal from Pearl, he seemingly and obviously can't stay away. He is inexplicably and irrevocably drawn to her and knows that she could be his kryptonite or his salvation.
It was refreshing really to get inside his head, like in the first book, and to get his gist of things and the reasoning behind his words and actions while battling the outside influences trying to tear him and Pearl apart.
Not to mention, being already familiar with Pearl's POV from the Pearl series, the book gave a sense of deja vu while adding on a highlight of depth and change up of rhythm with outside takes on what readers were necessarily thought to only see while journeying more intensely inside of the mind of Pearl and her one-sided story of her and Alexander.
I REALLY, REALLY love this series and can't wait for more from author Arianne Richmonde!! Her range of writing and emotional and sensual conveyance is outstanding and is always superbly delivered by her innovative and addicting plot lines and characters. Can't wait to read bk3!!

I will never grow tired of Alexandre and Pearl's story! The passion and intricacy of this plotline is such that it makes for a lasting effect on your spirit.
Pearl is both assertive and timid; sexy and shy; determined and ambivalent. Is she a Gemini? I hear Geminis are like a two-sided coin... opposites forever sharing a space.
With her history of a failed marriage, the feelings of abandonment because of her father, her low self-esteem regarding sexual fulfillment... she continuously questions whether Alexandre's feelings are true. It does not help that he is stubborn and keeps his secrets well concealed. All this couple needs is to learn to communicate and be honest with each other... and TRUST!
Magnificently written, this series is life changing. I cannot tell you in words how much this series affected me the first time I read it. The impact still lingers.

4.5 star review of Hooked Up (Hooked Up #2) by Arianne Richmonde
This series must be read in order. The chemistry between Alexandre and Pearl is absolutely scorching. You almost expect the book to burst into flames. These two together are smoking hot.
Their pasts have damaged them both. Pearl is insecure and does not trust in Alexandre’s feelings for her. Alexandre knows that she has lied to him but despite that, he knows they are meant to be.
These two are drawn to each other like a moth to a flame.
Told from both POV’s, I felt I really got to know both Alexandre and Pearl. It was interesting to read about Pearl’s history and the lengths that Alexandre will go to ensure that he gets her back; despite her past and those that will do anything to ensure they are kept apart.
I really enjoy Arianne Richmonde’s writing style and I am looking forward to seeing what happens next.

This series just keeps getting better and better. Oh Alexandre, Alexandre he's such a dominating alpha male that whatever he wants he gets no matter the consequences.
Things get heated up between Alexandre and Pearl, they both have secrets that neither want to divulge to one another. They think that if they confess their secrets the other will leave and neither one wants that. Although they are trying to hide stuff from their past, it still seems like if it's not one thing it's another getting in their way and jeopardizing their relationship.
The love that Alexandre and Pearl have for each other is out of this world. Even though they've only known each other for a few months, they both know that the love they have for each other is so great that they can't live without each other. But for as much as they love each other, can they make it work even though Pearl is 15 years older than Alexandre and also because of the obstacles that keep getting in their way?
This book literally had me "hooked" and I am dying to read part 3. I need to know where this love is going to lead us, if Alexandre and Pearl do make it to the alter or if the secrets that Alexandre harbors will lead them to stray away from each other for good.
Arianne Richmonde has such a unique style of writing and her characters in this series are so extraordinary. I am beyond loving this series and can't wait to continue on and finding out the conclusion to this beautiful, yet f*cked up relationship between these two. Let's not forget the passionate, romantic and sexy scenes between them.....talk about major HOTNESS!!
I highly recommend this series if you haven't read the original, then you should start reading Hooked Up because it will literally hook you from the start.

Holy sh@t, this series I'm telling you just keeps getting better and better with each book!! This is the first series I have read of Arianne's and I can definitely say that she has gained a new fan. I am in love with these book and the main characters. This series will have you on the edge of your seat waiting to see what happens next because it seems like so many people are there to keep Pearl and Alexandre from being together, not to mention the secrets that they both are keeping to themselves. The both are harboring such big secrets that they think will break them apart, that it is affecting their relationship, along with other outside forces. Pearl is insecure and she thinks that Alexandre will realize that she isn't basically worth being with. Alexandre knows that Pearl is his future and he will do whatever he has to in order to get what he wants.

The passion that Alexandre & Pearl have for each other is off the charts. When Alexandre wants more then anything to get Pearl back and he'll stop at nothing to get her back. But when the past comes back and certain woman will do anything to destroy their happiness. We learn about Pearl's past and what she had went through. I feel for Pearl but I want to scream at her because Alexandre loves her for who see is and only wants her to be happy. Will they be able to finally be happy? I can wait for book 3 to see what happens

Passion, romance , I really like this Hooked Up series! This is the second book in the series, and Pearl and Alexandre have reunited after his sister's interference. Alexandre is being blackmailed, and does not want to involve Pearl with his troubles. Good story.

Wonderful Book
I’m downloading the third installment right after completing this review! I love this series and will support the authors work in print also. I’ve read the first two in 2 days. This is exciting and relatable for woman who are in their forties or have dated younger men. I love Alessandre’s intelligence and confidence. He works Pearl from the moment they meet in that coffee shop! Real men need to be this way, to actually know what they want in a woman and not confuse lust with love and affection. To have the courage to pursue passion! The author created a great plot that never lacked for twists and turns. I love a smart, well dressed, sexually confident man, nothing compares with the Alpha male created in this book.

After ending book 1 on a bit of a cliff-hanger I could not wait to get into this book.

The second book in the series brings it! More sexy scenes, more action, more suspense, more lies. The lie that tore Alexandre and Pearl apart in book 1 is resolved in a very sexy 'firefighter' fantasy scene. They cannot keep away from each other. Some good came of it as Pearl has had to rely on her brother, Anthony, and her best friend, Daisy.
I could appreciate Pearl's fear of Sophie, her reluctance to move forward with her relationship with Alexandre, and how her insecurities led her to the one man she believes she can count on. Alexandre seems to be torn between the women in his life. He can't seem to win. To please one means to upset another.
As the story continues, Anthony has an emergency, and Daisy has a shocking confession. Add to this an incident between Alexandre and Laura that Pearl doesn't know anything about. Sophie gets a little too involved in Pearl's business, and Pearl wants her to back off immediately. Alexandre sides with Sophie, and Pearl feels left out. Laura decides she wants Alexandre back. All this leads to a lot of drama, arguments, and a final betrayal that ends book 2.
This story combines Shadows of Pearl and Pearl from the Pearl series in a way that is even better than the original because Alexandre's side of the story was missing from Shadows, and only his side was in Pearl. It added so much depth to me to have his POV along with what happened to Pearl allowed me to see 'the whole picture'. It made sense out of the craziness of what both were doing and how they got to where the cliffhanger took us.
Even though I know how this all ends because of having read the Pearl series, I'm excited to read book 3 which combines Shimmers of Pearl and Belle Pearl because I know that both POVs together will make the story pop.

This is book two in the series and picks up where book one left off. I wasn't disappointed with this and was more eager to see how the story unfolds. The author does a good job with keeping you hooked in the book with the writing and when you get to the end, you want more.
Alexandre can't stop thinking of her, she is in his dreams, thoughts, everything that he does or say all he can see is her. He has to have her back but she has contacted him so he doesn't know if she even wants him. He will stop at nothing to have Pearl back in his life. He first has to deal with his past before even more things happen.
Pearl finally opens up about her past and it's so hurtful to know she experienced what she did. She loves Alexandre but is to afraid to really open up with him. When his ex comes between them, Pearl doesn't really know the truth. Now that she isn't around Alexandre she wants to be with him even more and can't believe that she left. She has a hard time seeing that Alexandre wants her to be happy no matter what.
I love the connection between the characters and the chemistry is even hotter. The characters have a long way to go with their relationship and certain people will make sure that they stay away from each other. However, things become complicated as other players in the mix scheme to keep them apart, resulting in misunderstanding and heartbreak.
The descriptions of the scenery and locations in France were beautiful and made me feel nostalgic! The sex scenes were as hot, if not hotter, than ever! The chemistry and desire between Pearl and Alexandre is off the charts. I received this book in return for my honest opinion:
This series is doing exactly what it says on the label it leaves you hooked and wanting more and more.
Where do I start off with book 2 in this great series. I am in love with Alexandre he is your dominant alpha male and all the makings of all a serious book boyfriend.
Alexandre knows what he wants and he will go out and get it.
Despite the 15 year age gap between Pearl and Alexandre things are seriously heating up between them. Even after Alexandre has found Pearl has lied to him he knows he should walk away but he cant do it. Both of them are keeping secrets and worried that if the other finds out that the other will walk away.
The love between Pearl and Alexandre is seriously out of this world and something that neither of them expected or could ever imagine feeling. They haven't known each other long but they are obsessed with each other and know that they couldn't live without being in each others lives.
In this book obstacles, secrets and outsiders threaten to tear them apart. Will Alexandre and Pearl let these things destroy them or will they stay united as one.
I am hooked on this series and can not wait for book 3 to find out what happens next for Alexandre and Pearl

Despite the 15 year age gap between Pearl and Alexandre things are seriously heating up between them. Even after Alexandre has found Pearl has lied to him he knows he should walk away but he cant do it. Both of them are keeping secrets and worried that if the other finds out that the other will walk away.

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review for Stephanie's Book Reports.
I am loving this series so much and couldn't put this book down.Hooked Up 2 picks up exactly where the first Hooked Up ended.
Alexandre and Pearl are very much in love and I felt like this books was two steps forward one step back. They both have secrets but are afraid of losing the other if everything is revealed. Obstacles and people keep getting in the way. Will these two be able to make it?
I've not read the original series but as soon as I finish all the of the Hooked up boos I'm going to. I am loving both Pearl and Alexandre. He adores her and she him and I love that about this couple. There's is not a easy sailing from here on out relationship that's for sure but let's be honest anything worth having is worth fighting for. And fight they do or run....so much running. This book turned up the heat too in more ways than one and a couple of scenes in particular where a first for me. This book has it all Love, angst, passion, and some kindle melting scenes.
Arianne Richmonde has the most unique writing style and the most believable character. I'm so in love with Pearl and Alexandre and can't wait to see where the third Hooked Up book takes me.

This series is so much more than I hoped for and yes the title is perfect because you will be Hooked from page one. I feel in love with Pearl and Alexandre first time around in The Pearl Series but reading it now in both POV's gives it even more depth(if that's possible).
The love and passion that Pearl and Alexandre have for each other is something we all wish for, even though they haven't known each other long they both know they need each to be together to breathe.....
They both have secrets from there past, will their love get them past not only the secrets but also meddling Ex partners who are determined to break them up. The 15 year age difference is not important to them but others want to make a issue out of it. Will they tell each other about the past to save there love or will the past break them ......

Book two picks up where book one left off with Pearl and Alexandre. Pearl doesn't know how to fix what happened between her and Alexandre. She loves him so much she is willing to do anything but she gets some good advice from her friend to not to anything. Pearl is surprised when he shows up at her apartment and it seems like they are picking up just where they left off. Even though they are trying to pick up where they left off there are a lot of obstacles that will test their relationship. They both have to decide if they are going to decided if their relationship is worth it all. I loved this book and I couldn't put it down. Pearl and Alexandre despite their age difference are made for each other. I can't wait to see how everything is going to play out in the next book.

Pearl and Alexandre take us on a crazy ride with their romance. As much as Pearl wants to be swept off her feet by Alexandre, she finds it hard to trust which is challenged by outside forces working to keep them apart. She does agree to move in with him and he helps her shift her career from documentaries to movie production. With all these changes in her life, can Pearl stay true to herself? Their passion is intense and electrifying but can Pearl trust Alexandre’s love for her? I became a fan of this story when it was just told from Pearl’s POV so I love this new adaption that Arianne has done which gives us Alexandre’s viewpoint as well, this adds so much more depth to the overall journey.

I love this story! Pearl and Alexander have huge obstacles to overcome to be together. They are constantly coming together and they being blown apart. They both have very tragic pasts that effect their present, but refuse to talk about. They also have Alexander's ex-girlfriends to contend with. Alexander is so irresistible that these girls refuse to let him go. To top it off, Alexander's sister has an issue with Pearl, and would also like to see them split up.
This May December romance seems to be doomed. The story takes the reader all over the world. I am looking forward to part three. I am very anxious to see how this series ends. The situation at the end of part two is very suspenseful.

I love this series so much, I cant get enough of it. I was worried after book 1 that they wouldnt find their way back but luckily they did. I love how they work so well together, but at the same time have their own demons to work through. I wish they could be more honest with each other though, all the secrets will be their downfall. Im upset though at all the bad stuff that happened, the ones pulling them apart shouldnt win and hurt them. I hope book 3 reveals more and brings them where they are supposed to be. I cant wait to read book 3 im on pins and needles waiting for the next part to come out.

Holy cow! I was sucked in from the start of this booked. In the beggining you where at a standstill will how everything ended with Pearl and Alexander. Everytime they get tighter in thier romance they get a ball thrown at them. Then there is Laura (Alex's Ex) can you say "cray, cray?" Laura is what threw them apart in the beginning, she will try at anything to get with Alexandre. Will Laura get what she is trying to accomplish? Will Laura be able to forgive Sophia and let bygones be bygones.
I can't wait to read Hooked Up #3! You need to read this series like yesterday!

another 5 star review..i was given this arc for an honest review of this book. once again the saga co tinues for Pearl and Alexandre..so many twists and turns fir this live affair of a forty year old Pearl and her much younger lover Alexandre. it's so refreshing to have Alexandre's pov in this second sequel of Hooked Up 2. Thoroughly enjoyed this book as i always enjoy the writing of Arianne Richmonde
