Chloe Davis was giving up. She thought for sure the owners of the computer shop she worked for were responsible for her father’s death, but in all the time she’d worked there she’d not been able to find enough evidence to prove it, so as far as she was concerned she was out of there. Her boss, George, on the other hand had other ideas. As far as he was concerned she wasn’t going anywhere…by force if necessary.

Scott Calhoun was just trying to help his grandfather get the young woman to safety, the last thing he expected was for her to be his mate. And he wasn’t happy about it either. Scott was a Dom, and he liked his sex hard and rough and his women submissive…this woman was a spitfire, and he was pretty sure he’d scare her off with his demands…. As far as he was concerned he was a deviant, not mate material.

But when Chloe and Scott come together, they both find more than they expected…Scott has finally met his match. Now, if everyone would stop trying to kill them, they might live long enough to enjoy each other.

Holy Moley!! 'Scott' is the third book in Kathi S. Barton's "Calhoun Men" series and they just keep getting better. The story opens up with Chloe training someone to work at the computer store she works at. She's given her two weeks' notice but George Flynn, the owner's son, wouldn't accept it. He'd beg and plead he needed more time to fill her position which had Chloe staying a total of eight weeks. She has no intentions of staying any longer. The only reason she came to work for this company in the first place was so she could follow the trail and find out who murdered her father and she hasn't been able to find concrete proof that William, the business owner, nor his son George were involved. When she reminds George she won't be back on Monday it winds up being a physical altercation. So much so that security has followed her out of the building and is threatening to arrest her. TJ Calhoun just happens to be going into the store when he sees what's going on and helps her. The problems, which are many and often deadly, with the Flynn family thread their way throughout the storyline. They're hiding a few secrets of their own in this town as well. Because things got so out of hand, TJ takes Chloe to the hospital so there's some kind of record of the abuse she's suffered. Scott is sent to get the car and after loading TJ and Chloe in the car, Scott realizes Chloe is his mate and he's not happy about it. He has particular tastes when it comes to intimate activities and he really doesn't want to be rejected by his mate. Action, murder, and mayhem, and a bit of BDSM abound in this storyline that will involve not only our wolf family, the Vampire, and now we're introduced to a Fae who is not only an FBI agent but sister to the Queen of Fae. The story is intense and the chemistry between Scott and Chloe is even more so. There's no way to put these books down once I start the story. I become so enthralled, I just have to find out what happens next.

I read this one randomly and wasn't used to the writing. I was quite lost in the characters, hard to follow. Still, I greatly enjoyed this book, there was suspense, not just with bad men with a straight mind into doing bad thing, it was all cases to solve. So all that to want more. A bit disturbing about the wolf part but okay, it was part of that.
So now I have to read from the 1st book and wait for the fourth.

I will admit that I had trouble with this story when I first started reading it, for some reason I could not connect the characters and after the first three chapters I went back and reread books 1 and 2. After doing that I had no problems figuring out who was who and what was what. I really liked Chloe, she was both strong and silent, a good combination for Scott who likes control. Scott was interesting, he seemed to think he was defective because of what he and his cat needed. Considering he helped people find what they needed by using BDSM techniques, his beliefs threw me off a little bit. The interaction between current and past characters add depth to the storylines that Ms. Barton creates encompassing the who family idea or value that these families represent. They come together when needed with out question or thought and do what is needed and expect nothing in return. Unusual characters pop up in the plot adding intrigue and mystery keeping the flow of the story moving along. Danger, drama, fun and dangerous interaction and a whole lot of bad guys to get under control keep you turning the pages racing to find out what happens. Ms. Barton sets up the next story nicely leaving you counting the days until you visit this entertaining family again.

Kathi's stories pull you in and don't let you go once you've started reading her unique and captivating stories!

I love how Kathi writes her unique and creative stories about each person who finds their mates and the subsequent adventures in getting to know then and the extraordinary circumstances that they will find themselves in! Also, I love that after you read a story, you know what's going on with the characters in the previous instalments and the unique way that they all come together in times of crisis!! I truly hope that everyone gets to read this particular series and but it for their own personal library to enjoy reading whenever they want to!!!

Very Good!

Scott owned a business where he taught BDSM & he thought himself as a deviant because he also liked his sex that way. He never thought that his mate would like it too.

Chloe, was working undercover to find out who liked her father & had thought that she was on track until she couldn't find anything; so she decided to quit the job but, her employer didn't want her to leave & was physically trying to stop her. Until some of the Calhouns showed up.

This is the beginning of Scott & Chloe's story; this book has a small good vs bad plot, some BDSM sex scenes, new friends & previous characters from the other books in this series.

Warning: If you aren't into BDSM then the love scenes in this book are not for you. Ms Barton was not heavy handed (pun intended...lol) in her writing of these scenes but they are there. That said, this book was a good enough read. I am finding a lot of Ms Barton's books almost copies of each other.

Chloe has given up on her search for evidence regarding her Dad's murder. She thought for sure it was at the computer shop, even going so far as to get a job there, yet she hasn't found out and the owner, George, is very reluctant to let her go. As she tries to leave, reminding George she isn't coming back, he injures her and has security detain her. Thankfully an older man witnesses everything and, along with a few of his grandsons, ensures she's able to leave.

Scott is sitting in the hospital waiting room keeping his grandfather company while he waits on the young woman to be examined. Upon learning that the police are coming after her due to the story George told his Dad, William, Scott gets that car at his grandfather's urging and quickly realizes, as he meets Chloe for the first time, that she's his mate. However, due to his sexual preferences, being the Dom to a submissive woman, he feels his behavior is deviant, therefore not fit to be someone's mate.

Chloe, previously a cop as was her father before his tragic death, has done extensive research on the Flynns, and the police department she left upon learning their true allegiance wasn't to justice, has goals in her mind for herself and being someone's mate did not make the final list. But, there's something about Scott, and vice versa, that can't be denied, and soon they're learning new things about each other and themselves.

Will Scott and Chloe, and the Calhoun family as a whole, come out the victor in their fight against the Flynns? Will Chloe finally uncover the truth about what happened to her Dad? Will his murderer get what they deserve? Will Scott and Chloe accept they're mates and complete their bond? Will they get their HEA?

One-click now and follow along as these two, determined to resist the mating pull, learn that you can't fight fate and that they truly don't want to. They are meant to be together.

Will Scott and Chloe be able to aside their differences to get their HEA?

Chloe has given up her career to find the ones responsible for her father's death. Working at the Flynn's computers shop, she was convinced they were behind it, but in the months working she hasn't found a piece of evidence to support her claim. After putting in her notice and extending her notice past the 8 week mark she's done. As in D-O-N-E done! But the Flynn's are determined to keep her there anyway necessary.

Scott is recovering from having to close his business. He's just tired and convinced he will never find a mate who will like him for who he is, domineering personality and all. One whiff of Chloe and he knows he living in hell. She's a spitfire and he knows she will never submit to his needs in the bedroom.

**"Scott was afraid that pissing off his mate could have dire consequences. She was sort of mean when she wanted to be."**

When these two finally come together, they will show each other they are what they need in the other in every way of their life. The Calhoun family is determined to help Chloe and figure out everything the Flynn's could be hiding. But they get more than they bargained for when they find more skeletons in their closet.

Calhoun brother Scott finds his mate in this story about the wolf-shifter family.

Scott has seen two of his brothers find their mates, but he doesn't see himself and a future with a mate of his own. He thinks any female will be scared off by his need for a different lifestyle. Scott being a Dom, living a BDSM lifestyle will surely prevent him from having a long term relationship with any woman.

Chloe Davis is a former cop working undercover at a computer store to help find the ones responsible for the death of her father years ago. When grandda Calhoun rescues her from her evil boss then discovers she is the mate to a wolf-shifter. Well neither is at all interested in pursuing a relationship. Both some to a realization that they are perfect for each other....Chloe is a closet sub and her wolf is more than willing to tie her up and tie her down. Yet, their happy ending is in danger when the psycho bad guys have their hearts set on killing them.

Ms. Barton did a wonderful job with the BDSM parts of the story. This was the first time I've read one of her book addressing this subject. I really enjoyed this book and look forward to the next Calhoun brother story.

Loved it

Love this series. Scott meets his mate when grandadda rescues her from her employer, who didn't want to accept her resignation. Neither want a mate.
Chloe is a former cop, investigating her father's murder and his lawyer friend's disappearance. She knows that wealthy businessman William Flynn or his son George are involved, but has been unable to find the evidence.
Scott has been moping around since he closed his business. He is half heatedly been renovating his houses and spending time with grandadda. Scott and Chloe are an odd couple. He is insecure, she is confident , but when it comes to the playroom he is Dom to her sub. They get off to a rough start, but find their way quickly.
The Flynn's have it out not only for Chloe but the Calhoun family. The police department is crupt. Chloe has been gatherings evidence and with the help of her Fae FBI agent friend and Herr new family she is going to get justice.
A fun fast paced and steamy story. Can't wait for Stirling's story. Happy that Mayra is still looking out for him.

Scott Calhoun thinks he is very different and doesn't deserve happiness because he and his cat are into BDSM. Chloe Davis is on a mission to find out what really happened when her dad (who was a police officer) was killed. She quit her job as a police officer to investigate on her own as the police department was doing nothing to solve this crime. She went to work at a computer shop believing there was evidence there with her boss George and his father William Flynn. When after months she couldn't find anything she put in her notice and George went over the edge saying she couldn't leave and hurt her - thankfully there was an older man there that helped her. When Scott first met Chloe he didn't know what to do -- he knew she was his mate but being a Dom he didn't think he deserved her. Will Scott and Chloe be together? Can Chloe find out what really happened to her dad? This is another great book by Kathi S Barton - can't wait for the next book in this series.

Scott meets his mate at a chance after his grandfather helps Chloe to leave a job at the computer store.

Chloe has had a hard time and was having a hard time to leave her job on the last day of her notice. Her boss George takes his anger out on her as he does not want her to leave. Chloe only worked there to try and find out information on her fathers murder.

Scott has a hard time understanding if his mate will enjoy his style of having sex and if she is a sub.

The whole family join forces to protect each other and their new family member if is Scott and Chloe are just finding their feet within the relationship.

All secrets and ghosts are shared between them and their relationship builds.

This story is a must read as well as all of Kathi's books.
