Net patyrusiam šio žanro skaitytojui nebus lengva suvokti visą įvykių seką nesudėliojus dėlionės detalių iki galo. Autorius tiesiog mėgaujasi meistriškai žaisdamas psichologinį žaidimą.

Cut is described as “The serial killer thriller that took Europe by storm” – well I can see why because it is intensely creepy, with some memorable characters and a really dark undertone to the writing which gives it an atmospheric twist that is truly addictive.
Cut is both a serial killer thriller and a fast paced race against time,with some beautifully placed reveal moments and a real sense of urgency to it when it comes to Gabriel’s ability to track down his missing girlfriend and save her from a monster.
One thing I loved about Cut was the bad guy was truly a bad guy, Marc Raabe managing to create a certain depth to that character whilst obscuring the motivations behind the actions really right up until the last minute. It is unpredictable which makes it fun (and sometimes horrific) I was often struck by a moment, there are some descriptive scenes that linger with you.
Cut was a fast read for me – one I enjoyed all the way through, the past/present vibe which I always enjoy in novels was done really well, some great writing here and a stonking good story. Serial killer thrillers are thinner on the ground than they used to be – Cut fills that gap nicely with one that has many levels.

I found the premise of this book very appealing and certainly the start was atmospheric start and very dark. Essentially it concerns Gabriel and Luke and the time in the childhood when there was violence and the current time when Liz, Gabriel's partner is also a leading character in the story. I found very early on that I had difficulty with the style of writing. Somehow it was hard to read and felt very disjointed to the extend I found myself rereading section when I picked the book up again. I was probably at least 25% into the the book before I can honestly say I had any real handle on what was going on. Even then I did not really find it all that interesting nor did I find it compelling. After that the book became easier and was better though not an awful lot better.
Frankly had this not been a review book I would have given up on it quite early on. I did find the last 25% or so was compelling and for me different. TW: graphic content, violence, murder, stalking, mental health conditions/schizophrenia, assault, abduction, ptsd, sexual assault, rape, parental death, childhood trauma, medical trauma. As you can imagine by the trigger warnings this is a very dark read and if you aren't into dark thrillers and horror then I wouldn't read it. This book follows Gabriel who as a child experiences a horrific crime and then 29 years later his pregnant girlfriend, Liz, is taken with nothing but a note left behind saying "if you want to find her, you have to find me". But Gabriel cannot remember everything from his childhood so as the clock is ticking he needs to remember what happened in order to be able find her in time. This book really made my heart race and my jaw drop! It is truly gripping and even when you want to put it down you won't be able to. Raabe left a great trail of breadcrumbs to help you slowly fit pieces of the puzzle together as Gabriel learns about his life and the people in it. Also, it really makes you think about the nature vs nurture debate when it comes to serial killers and if they are born evil or made evil due to their upbringing which I found really interesting and actually ended up discussing the characters with my husband after I'd finished it because I just needed someone to chat to so if you've read this then drop me a dm. However I did knock it down a star because I felt the ending was a bit rushed. Overall, this is a great thriller/horror and if you're into tha genre then I definitely recommend this book but for anyone wanting to read it please take the trigger warnings into consideration because it is very dark in places.

This was a good book and I enjoyed the story, but there's something that niggled a little bit. During some parts of the story, the writing was very enticing and I had difficulty putting it down, but during others, it didn't flow as well. Maybe it comes down to the translation of the language.
The story, however, was very well thought out and I enjoyed it. Dark and rather bleak, but I have absolutely no problem with that in this genre.
Well worth checking out.

Cut is a stylish and rather 'grown up' thriller.
Gabriel is scared of cellars.
When is his girlfriend rings him saying she has been attacked and is hurt, he races to her aid. However, on reaching the park where she says she is, he finds a dead man and a lot of Police. He becomes suspect No 1. and Liz is nowhere to be found.
This novel is quite difficult to get into, I did find I was lost in places and I had to take notes while I was reading. But it is a good read and one that has an interesting plot.
Gabriel has spent quite a few years in a mental institution, and if I hadn't wanted to know the reasons why, I probably would have given up with this one.
It is a novel that 'feeds' the mind and ends rather good. It is brutal in parts and although not for every reader, I did find it enjoyable. I wasn't able to read in one sitting, which is how I usually read, but over the course of the few days it took, it was time well spent.
I think Cut will get mixed reviews depending on the reader, but for me it entertained and I am happy to recommend.

When Gabriel Naumann was 11 years old, he experienced a traumatic incident from which he and his younger brother David barely escaped with their lives.
Now, nearly 30 years have passed since that day and Gabriel has suffered a long period in a psychiatric facility, trying to even remember the events of that fateful night. Gabriel only got out of the facility thanks to the efforts of Yuri Sarkov, who has employed him at his security firm ever since. But then Gabriel is sent to an alarm call at an apparently abandoned house, where there are signs of forced entry and an empty safe. Then Gabriel discovers that his pregnant girlfriend Liz has disappeared - and her kidnapper forces him to confront the events from his past....
This was a totally gripping story with several unexpected twists and turns and an unpredictable outcome. Great read - 9/10.

Ik heb gemixte gevoelens bij dit boek, op 1 of andere manier was dit goed en slecht tegelijk. Het verhaal sprak mij enorm aan maar de uitwerking ervan kon mij niet vatten.
Het boek start goed maar meteen na het begin stagneert de spanning en had ik echt moeite om door te gaan. Het boek springt een beetje van het een naar het ander, van het verleden naar de toekomst en daar raakte ik al eens verloren. Het verhaal gaat te traag en dan bij sommige stukken dan weer te snel. Naar het einde toe komt het dan weer goed en pikt het verhaal terug wat spanning op.
Opzich een goed verhaal, de uitwerking minder en als thriller zou ik deze nu niet meteen aanraden.

O ile więc zazwyczaj z duża przyjemnością sięgam po thrillery niemieckich autorów, o tyle w tym przypadku spotkało mnie gorzkie rozczarowanie. Zamiast trzymającą w napięciu historią, Kamerzysta okazał się powieścią z zaprzepaszczonym potencjałem, a jego lektura w znacznej mierze długą drogą po wybojach absurdalnych rozwiązań fabularnych i niezbyt przekonujących bohaterów.

Dar vienas meistriškai sunarpliotas psichologinis trileris. Ši kartą vokiečių autoriaus kūrinys, kuris tikrai nenuvylė. Kiekvienas skyrius prikausto visą demėsį, užburia, intriguoja, nepaleidžia iki paskutinio puslapio.
Istorija yra apie Gabrielių, kuris prieš 29-erius metus tapo tėvų nužudymo liudininku. Praėjo daug metų, Gabrielius jau yra suaugęs vyras, turintis besilaukiančią draugę Lizą bei stabilų, gerai apmokamą darbą. Jam prireikė daug metų kol jis atsistojo ant kojų ir sugebėjo pradėti gyventi. Tačiau praeities įvykiai grįžta ir primena Gabrieliui apie visą košmarą, kuris jį persekiojo 29-erius metus.
Gabrielius yra priverstas atkurti visus "tos dienos" įvykius tam, kad galėtų suprasti kodėl ir kas pagrobė jo besilaukiančią merginą Lizą. Nėra aišku nei kokie yra serijinio kilerio motyvai, nei tikslai, nei išvis koks yra ryšys tarp jo, Gabrieliaus ir Lizos, tačiau aišku viena - jis žino viską apie tos tragiškos nakties įvykius ir nori atkeršyti Gabrieliui už viską.
Ypatingai sužavėjo bei nulemė, kad romanas tapo dar įdomesniu ir įspudingesniu tai, kad pagrindinis veikėjas buvo ne tik Gabrielius bet ir jo mergina Liza. Jos vaidmuo įtakojo, kad istorija tapo dar labiau nenuspėjama ir intriguojanti. Liza pasižymėjo stipriomis charakterio savybėmis, gebėjimu mąstyti blaiviai ekstremialioje situacijoje. Pirmas mano perskaitytas romanas, kuriame pagrindinis veikėjas buvo pavaizduotas kaip "blogiukas", t.y. laužantis įstatymus, praeityje vartojęs narkotikus, arogantiškas, nepaklusiantis policijos nurodymams, tačiau šiame romane, tokia charakteristika tik pridavė daugiau charizmos vaidmeniui.
Romanas tikrai labai geras, veiksmas vyko non stop, visi veikėjai įdomūs, išsiskiriantys unikaliomis savybėmis bei paslaptimis. Kūrinys tobulai tinkantis ekranizacijai, nors nėra nieko nuostabaus, kadangi pats Marc Raabe yra filmų kūrėjas.

In diesem Psychothriller beobachtet der Protagonist mit 11 Jahren grausame Dinge und kann sich 30 Jahre lange nicht erinnern. Doch nach etwa 30 Jahren wird seine Freundin entführt und der 'Held' Gabriel hat nur einige Wochen Zeit herauszufinden, wo sie sich befindet und sie zu befreien. Natürlich hängt die Entführung mit dem zusammen, was vor 3 Jahrzehnten passiert ist und woran sich Gabriel nicht erinnern kann.
Das Buch war sehr spannend. Ich habe es an zwei Tagen ausgelesen.
Aber die vielen Logikfehler führen bei mir dazu, dass ich das Buch 'nur' okay fand. Man kann es lesen, die Geschichte ist spannend, aber man sollte die Fehler in der Logik abkönnen.
Einige Beispiele:
- Die Polizei wird in dem gesamten Buch als vollkommen verblödet und nutzlos beschrieben. Die Ermittler der Polizei können nichts und ziehen immer die falschen Schlüsse.
- Der Protagonist wird polizeilich gesucht, läuft aber unbehelligt durch Berlin, mietet sich Autos und kehrt immer wieder zu einem Ort zurück, an dem jeder Polizist der Welt ihn vermuten würde.
- Schwer verletzte Personen (Schuss ins Knie) gehen nicht zum Arzt, sondern laufen am nächsten Tag durch Villen.
- Wenn eine Person, die offensichtlich verletzt ist, in einem kleinen Dorf nach der Polizei fragt, bringt ein Anwohner die traumatisierte Person sicher nicht erst zum Bahnhof, damit die Verletzte selbst in den Nachbarort fährt. Die Menschheit hat Telefone erfunden, um unter anderem die Polizei rufen zu können.
Jedenfalls habe ich mich über solche Sachen immer mal wieder aufgeregt. Daher zwei Sterne.

Hm ich bin ziemlich geteilter Meinung. Erstmal hatte ich ziemlich Probleme in das Buch reinzukommen. Mich hat irgendwie nichts gereizt weiterzulesen, ich hab es dann aber trotzdem getan weil ich dem Buch eine Chance geben wollte. Irgendwann war ich dann auch ganz gut in der Geschichte drin aber dann gings es schon mit den Protagonisten weiter. bis auf Liz waren die alle irgendwie nich so dolle…unreal, komisch und man konnte sich mit keinem Identifizieren oder warm werden. Ich hatte auch Probleme die ganze Story irgendwie zu glauben, zum Beispiel das Gabriel so viel für Liz fühlt das er das alles für sie tut und auf sich nimmt…das kommt alles irgendwie nicht so gut rüber im Buch, für mich ist Gabriel irgendwie ein ganz anderer Charakter. Zwischendurch gab es dann jedenfalls auch mal echt Spannung und Nervenkitzel wegen Liz und der Sachen die ihr passieren, aber irgendwie wirkt auch dort vieles an den Haaren herbeigezogen und so richtig Leselust kommt trotz allem nicht auf. Das Ende war dann auch zwar erklärend, aber absolut nicht befriedigend mit vielen wieder unglaubwürdigen kleinen Details. Fazit: Ich würds nicht nochmal lesen.

Nachdem mir Schlüssel 17 und Zimmer 19 von ihm wirklich gut gefallen haben, hatte ich mir mal Schnitt aus dem Tauschschrank mitgenommen. Schnitt ist ein früheres Werk von ihm.
Worum geht es?
Gabriel beobachtet als Kind einen Mord und verdrängt es. Bis seine Freundin entführt wird und er sie nur mit Hilfe seiner verdrängten Erinnerungen retten kann.
So der Klappentext.
War auch an sich nicht unspannend. Hat mich aber auch nicht vom Hocker gehauen. Deshalb vergebe ich solide 3⭐.

sembrava che fosse un libro quasi epico... Sarà perchè odio i libri scritti al presente, ma a me non ha detto proprio niente di particolare.
Carino, ma in giro c'è molto di meglio.

Sakyčiau visai neblogas psichologinis trileris,nes nuo pat pirmo skyriaus buvo užminta mįslė ir pradėjau kurti galimus scenarijus.
"Vienuolikamečio Gabrieliaus Naumano nerūpestinga vaikystė baigiasi košmaru. Jis tampa kraupaus įvykio liudytoju. Vieną siaubo naktį nužudomi jo tėvai, o namas, kuriame šeima gyvena, sudega iki pamatų. Gyvi lieka tik Gabrielius ir jo brolis Davidas, tačiau abiejų sielos jau visam laikui sužeistos."
Kai po 29 metų nuo įvykio Gabrieliaus besilaukianti draugė pagrobiama ir jis turi galimybę ją išgelbėti, tačiau turi prisiminti tos nakties įvykius, prasideda tikros linksmybės. Buvo aspektų, kurių aš būčiau atsisakiusi, nes taip ir nesupratau kam jie buvo knygoje, bet nepaisant jų tikrai buvo įdomu skaityti. Motyvas įdomus, man tikrai patiko mintis. Gal šiek tiek trūko pačio Gabrieliaus personažui man kažko, bet istorija tikrai nebloga. Kas neskaitėte ir norite įtraukiančio psichologinio trilerio, tai rekomenduoju "Pjūvį" 😉

In questo romanzo Marc Raabe risveglia nel lettore paure e incubi assopiti dall'infanzia e quasi dimenticati. La storia di Gabriel, un bambino di soli 11 anni, che si rende testimone di qualcosa di terrificante che si congelerà dentro di lui per tutta la vita. Dopo trent'anni quel bambino, ormai cresciuto, torna a fare i conti con gli incubi del passato che aveva persino dimenticato. Quando la sua fidanzata, Liz, scompare improvvisamente, Gabriel è costretto a tuffarsi di nuovo nella sua vita passata, affrontando uno per uno i suoi incubi e i suoi fantasmi fino a risolvere il mistero di quella tragica notte in cui tutta la sua vita cambiò per sempre.
Romanzo ben scritto e ben strutturato. Cattura il lettore sin da subito, portandolo ad una lettura quasi compulsiva.

3 stars. A crime/thriller that's very Scandi in style, and I liked the intriguing characters. Despite what is implied on the blurb I thought Gabriel was pretty messed up himself, though different sides of him are shown as the story progresses and I thought that was a really nice touch. Writing style not really for me though, there is a lot of detail re: the characters actions and instead of speeding up the storyline I found it made it feel a lot slower. I did like how the pace was maintained throughout, from close to the first page right till the last, though I thought the reveal was a bit underwhelming given the build-up.

This felt predictable. I didn’t like the second voice for Gabriel, finding it annoying. There were some irritating mistakes with names particularly and also sentences that didn’t always make sense. Around 180 pages in, I started to skip parts and ended up flicking towards the end where I was able to work out exactly what it happened. This book was not for me but I’m aware it has some really good reviews. For me, it felt that I was stepping back 30 years to an era where the story line would have shocked and held my interest.

This was everything you want from a serial killer mystery- suspenseful, page turner with a good twist at the end. I also enjoyed that this book was set in Berlin as I plan to visit the city for the first time later this year. Hopefully my trip doesn’t involve any serial killers! A good read.

This started out slow and I had a hard time getting into it, but I enjoyed the gore and the flashbacks, and some of the chapters were really intense, a great read after the story picked up a bit.

29 Jahre später
Gabriel ist mittlerweile 40 Jahre alt und mit Liz,einer Journalistin,liiert.Eigentlich ist sein Leben an sich ganz in Ordnung.Er hatte zwar schwere Zeiten hinter sich, doch nun hat er einen Job,eine Freundin und er wird bald Vater. Alles ist schön.Bis zu dem Tag als Liz entführt wird und er mit seiner Vergangenheit konfrontiert wird. Doch an viele wichtige Details,die er benötigt um Liz zu finden sind in seinem Kopf wie ausradiert. Ein Wettlauf gegen die Zeit beginnt.
Aufbau und Schreibstil
Das Cover ist schlicht und doch sagt der Titel sehr viel über das Buch aus. Die Geschichte beginnt 1979 und man wird als Leser sofort mit Gabriels grauenhafter Angst vor dem Keller, seinem Held "Luke Skywalker", mit dem er in seinen Gedanken kommuniziert ,und der grauenhaften Entdeckung im Keller konfrontiert. Dann gibt es einen Schnitt und die Geschichte geht 29 Jahre später weiter.
Was Gabriel im Keller entdeckte bleibt bis zum Ende des Buches offen.
Das Buch ist geprägt durch viele kurze Kapitel. In dem 446 Seiten Buch findet man insgesamt 58 fulminante Kapitel vor. Durch diese kurzen spannungsgeladenen Kapitel und dem plötzlichen Schnitt eines Kapitels wurde die Spannung enorm aufgebaut. Bereits nach ein paar Seiten war ich völlig gefesselt.
Jedes Kapitel ist mit Ort,Datum und Uhrzeit gekennzeichnet was den Leser gleich noch mehr in die Handlung eintauchen lässt.
Desweiteren beinhaltet jedes Kapitel eine andere,handelnde Person. Entweder die entführte Liz mit der Ortsangabe "Nirgendwo" oder Gabriel mit der Ortsangabe "Berlin" oder David,Gabriels Bruder.Ebenfalls mit der Ortsangabe "Berlin". Also wie ihr seht spielt die Handlung in Berlin was mir sehr gut gefallen hat. Ich wohne zwar nicht direkt in Berlin aber so gut wie ;-)
Der Schreibstil von Marc Raabe ist fulminant,spannungsgeladen und sehr detailiert. Auch die Charakter der einzelnen Protagonisten hat er so gut rüber gebracht das ich mir jeden einzelnen sehr gut vorstellen konnte.
Meine Meinung
Unglaublich! Hätte ich mehr Zeit gehabt wäre ich wahrscheinlich innerhalb eines Tages mit dem Buch fertig gewesen. Denn es aus der Hand zu legen war schwer.Verdammt schwer. So schwer das ich heute morgen auf dem Weg zur Schule meine Haltestelle verpasst habe und einfach mal weiter gefahren bin.
Gleich der Anfang war so unglaublich spannend das ich dachte :"Oh man kann es noch spannender werden?" Oh ja und ob!
Die Angst die der kleine Gabriel vor dem Keller hatte wurde so gut rüber gebracht, dass ich mich selber daran erinnern musste wie ich als kleines Mädchen immer ganz laut im Keller gesunken habe wenn ich Getränke hoch hohlen sollte. Keller sind wirklich gruselig.
Und dann dieser Schnitt und du weiß als Leser nicht was denn der Kleine jetzt gefunden hat aber du hast auch keine Zeit darüber nach zudenken weil du sofort wieder voll in der nächsten Handlung drin steckst.
Im Laufe der Zeit hab ich sogar vergessen das Gabriel damals im Keller was entdeckt hat und als dann am Ende des Buches der Schnitt vervollständigt wurde und man als Leser erfuhr was in der Nacht im Keller geschah ,dachte ich nur:"Ach stimmt der Keller!"
Aber auch sonst war alles einfach nur unglaublich spannend. Die Entführung,Gabriels Suche nach Liz und Gabriels Annäherungsversuche an seinen Bruder ,den er so lange nicht mehr gesehen hat und von dem er Hilfe benötigt.
Ich hab so mit den Personen mitgefiebert das ich teilweise vergessen habe Luft zu hohlen, mir die Haare gerauft habe wenn es heikel wurde und ich teilweise gerne durch das Buch gehüpft wäre.
Es gab auch Stellen die mir am ganzen Körper eine gruselige Gänsehaut verliehen.

Auf jeden Fall kam im Laufe des Buches immer mehr ans Licht von Seite zu Seite lernte man die Personen und ihrer Geheimnisse bzw. Vergangenheiten immer besser kennen. Das dunkle Licht in das der Leser am Anfang geworfen wurde wurde von mal zu mal heller bis es zum Schluss so hell wurde das man nur noch staunen konnte ;-)
Im Großen und Ganzen kann ich nur sagen das ich wahrscheinlich einen neuen Lieblings-Thriller-Autor für mich entdeckt habe.
Marc Raabe hat es einfach drauf und ich hoffe noch viel von ihm zu lesen.
