Twenty years ago, the movie Hollywood Stardust defined a generation of teens and changed the four actors’ lives forever.

Typecast as the villain both in front and behind the silver screen, Logan Alexander has purposely allowed his star to fade. Now with the 20th Anniversary of the movie on the horizon, he is the only one fit to step into the spotlight, deal with the unwanted publicity, and make sure that things meant to be left on the cutting room floor remain there.

Ivy Vermont has always longed to be a leading lady, yet her paralyzing stage fright has relegated her to stay behind the scenes as a fact checker for Chargge.com’s entertainment webcasts. However, when her one-time poster-boy crush walks in to the studio demanding only she be in charge of his story, she knows she must take advantage of her big break.

Now, Logan tightropes between old loyalties and new love, while Ivy struggles to stay in reality with her ultimate fantasy.

I’m glad to say that book kind of snowballed for me. I found the beginning to be a little rough in terms of writing style with both the narration and dialogue a little staccato in delivery. But the book really picked up and soon I couldn’t put it down. Ivy Vermont starts off a little bland but as the book progresses you see that she’s actually quite a complicated character. When you meet her family and start to see the building blocks of Ivy’s life then you realize how amazing she is and exactly how perfect she is for Logan. Her sense of humor and compassion are a few of the things that he’s been missing in his life. I really have to admire her courage because most women (even fictional ones) wouldn’t take a chance on a guy with his reputation. I really dug the whole Hollywood movie plot line; the twentieth anniversary of an epic movie and the casts’ deep dark secrets that are hinted at throughout the book. Logan Alexander has everyone convinced that he’s a baddie both on screen and in real life. But you can see by the way he treats people and the love he has for his friends that he has a heart of gold. It was difficult to see the mistrust and doubt that both Ivy and Logan has with each other but it made for really suspenseful reading, at some points I really didn’t think my heart could take anymore. But just like in the movies, true love always finds a way. Around 25% into the book the author really settles into the plot and writing style and from then on the book is a real joy to read. The secondary characters are amazing and provide depth and much needed humor during dark times. Looking forward to the next book although not sure my heart can handle it! Also, always say no to sex nuts!

I am a huge fan of Kim's books! She has now given us a Hollywood bad boy and a beautiful journalist that still hasn't found her inner strength.
Ivy has always dreamed of becoming an actress but her own insecurities and anxiety have held her from her dreams. She does do a dynamic job behind the scenes. She has fallen into her dream job. She will be working on an article for one of her all time favorite films...Hollywood Stardust.
Logan has lived his entire life in the public eye since starring in Hollywood Stardust. He was portrayed as the bad boy and has never been able to shake that title until know.
When Ivy and Logan meet the attraction is evident but they are certainly off to a ruff start. The heat, passion, and journey of these characters was fabulous. To watch them grow , discover and shed their insecurities was wonderful! I fell in love with Ivy's inquisitive, sassy, personality and Logan oh what an alpha bad boy he is!!! Great story!

I was provided with an Arc for an honest review.

Typecast . . . brought me into the world of Hollywood Stardust. A man out of place and time but needs to get back in to set it all to rights. Logan has to step in where he does not want to be. While Ivy wants badly to be in where she was not comfortable. In front of the camera.

With her interactions with Logan behind the scenes Ivy begin to realize that she is open and can freely express herself, but only with Logan. Teen crush aside. Movie idle aside. Sexual chemistry open the door.

Ivy and Logan sends the rating makers running for new markings.

A romance to enjoy, even for the non-romance reader. What I like about the romance part is that the situations and actions of the characters felt real, not your standard-formula romance plot. I can understand the "trust" issues and the reactions to what feels like betrayal. Secondly, the addition of the screenplay for the story behind the story added a good dimension to the book. The writing is good, the characters are believable, and the plot kept me engaged. Well done.

Just when I think I have read the best book ever, I read Typecast. This story is for every little girl who covered the walls of her room with her favorite actor. The characters, as usual, are extremely well-written and I had to drag out my kleenex more than a couple of times. If you believe in love or want to believe, you'll want to read this book.

Review:
This is the second book that I have read by author, Kim Carmichael. Although I prefer the first book that I read, Facade, I enjoyed this book very much. It is book one of a series. The series revolves around the actors who started in a teen romance movie 20 years ago called Hollywood Stardust. Book one takes us on two journeys. The major journey is the relationship that forms between the actor who portrayed Steven in the movie, Logan Alexander, and web journalist, Ivy Vermont. The minor story is the flashbacks to the scenes of the movie Hollywood Stardust. The plot has Ivy (granddaughter of a famous Hollywood actor) working with her teen crush on the 20th Anniversary of the classic movie. Logan has secrets. Always playing the bad boy on and off the screen. He doesn’t want anyone to find out what really happened 20 years ago that caused the cancellation of the sequel to the movie. Ivy, the ultimate fan who even did her thesis featuring the movie, wants to know the truth. Finding it may cause her to lose the man that can giver her everything she has ever wanted. The chemistry is a Hollywood blockbuster. Ivy has bad boy Logan changing his ways. I found the pacing to be a little slow, but it is a longer book at close to 400 pages. Big finish ending with a nice segway to book 2. These characters go through some ups and downs and developed well throughout the story.

I love movies. I love video games. And of course, I love romance novels. But for some reason, I've never been the type of person who was able to get fully immersed in novels that were/are based on them. Luckily, this wasn't one of them! Typecast is the story of an actor of Logan Alexander, a Hollywood Stardust actor, who is typecasted (or known) as a bad boy, and shy Ivy Vermont who comes from a family of actors and actresses. As any other couple, we find these two struggling to find their beat or 'mojo' with one another and their place in show business. As it turns out, Logan is an anchor of sorts for Ivy that helps her overcome her stage fright, an aspect that I found was important and the turning point in the relationship for the two. While it wasn't the novel of the year [for myself] that made me scream in frustration when I realized it was 2am in the morning and I had to turn my kindle to get some sleep, I did enjoy it. Kim Carmichael spins a tale that is fascinating for any person living in North America [seriously, who wouldn't want to know more about the details on how our favourite Hollywood couple met and are still holding strong despite the ever present paparazzi] that is truly enjoyable in Typecast - it's the type of novel that you should read if you love the glitz and glamour of Hollywood.

You may have heard and read bits and pieces here and there about the book: “Typecast”, because it was something we were all able to vote on, through Amazon and Kindle Scout, and the best part- this book is was one of the Winners!

So firstly, let me begin with a huge congrats to Kim for winning the Kindle Scout contest! Woot! Woot!

Next, let me start with my raving review: Kim still truly inspires me with her story telling ability. I love how this book goes from the “Play writer” to the “Story telling” scenarios. This part is what is I find truly inspiring. No other book is like this, least wise that I have read…yet.

And the characters, as you read them you can’t help but visualize them in your mind and want to meet them. Especially their eyes, blue. And when I see blue eyes, I always see into their soul. Blue eyes are just so sexy. To me, anyway, and yeah, I’m entitled to my opinion. Whose review is this?!

‘“I kissed Logan Alexander.” Ivy stared at the television even though it wasn’t on. She didn’t need to watch reruns any-way . The kiss replaying in her head over-shadowed anything else.’

She kissed Logan! Ivy kissed Logan! That lucky beautiful woman kissed Logan! Ok, I read that line and now I’m jealous. No. Wait what?! I am getting jealous of a character in a book. I looked over at my husband, he asks me what. I started laughing. I proceeded to tell him what I read, and what Logan looked like (to me) and that I was jealous of Ivy. My husband rolled his eyes at me, and said I need help.

I than told him, no really, I think I was getting so involved in this book, I felt like I was a character right there, while Ivy is announcing that she kissed him, and I am listening, and I am one of those …(must watch my mouth…) woman standing there. Normally I call myself something else, actually I call most of us woman something else, because let’s face it, most of the time, we are. Especially, when it comes to jealousy, but I am a tell it all kind of person.

While reading "Typecast" at first, I wasn't sure if Ivy was really going to be able to pull it off, sometime her shyness, seemed a little stronger than usual. And the fact that Logan wanted to make a name for himself again, I knew he could. He still had the looks. But in the distance I felt he sometimes doubted himself, or wanted to. But together, I felt they were each others anchor in the long run.

On point….reading this book, I thought it was a very strong book. A very romantic book, with a lot of really interesting acting, and the inside scoop of actors and acting. I loved the fact, that while I was reading, unlike while reading the “Jackie Collins” books, this book had more sex appeal, and the people even looked better, in the wording alone!

I found this book, well worth reading, and enjoyed every minute of it, including the fabulous list of characters! Like I keep saying, I love the writing style, with the play write, and then back to story line. I think it makes it even more interesting. It makes you feel like you are right there with them as they do their thing too!

A definite five star review, no wonder it made it onto the Kindle Scout Awards! It is well worth it! It will keep you entertained in your chair, sipping a glass of wine, and thinking, “This book would make for an excellent Movie!” Kim Carmichael has the writers touch, and “Typecast" proves it!

"Typecast" reminded me the quintessential teen films of my past. "Sixteen Candles, and "The Breakfast Club". In this novel half of the cast of characters are stars of one of those types of films. A film that touched an entire generation of teens - and the cast themselves. The relationship of the movie's cast members is what the Romance orbits around. Kim Carmichael also frames the chapters with scenes "out of the script". Meaning there are references to whether the scene is taking place Interior or Exterior, the actors stage directions as well as the characters lines and scene set ups at the beginning of each chapter. This lends a "story within a story" type vibe having the film echo the action in the book (or vice versa). The Hero, Logan, is the actor who played the "bad boy" character in the film, and in real life that persona is one he has carried with him for the twenty years since the movie was released. The Heroine, Ivy, is a fact checker for an online entertainment news webcast, even though she was hired to be a reporter. The online Entertainment news source that she works for is to do an in depth interview about the movie "Hollywood Stardust". Due to her defense of the bad boy character of the film, she crosses paths with the hero and they are now linked to work together - on his insistence. The storyline is extremely well thought out and intricately written. The characters that are supposed to be likable are delightful. The Hero is charismatic and adorable. The Heroine is a bit angsty but she can be fiery as well. Her vulnerabilities make her enchanting. But she even by the end she requires rescuing. With a story that is as associated with the trappings and habits of Hollywood I was kind of expecting the sex scenes to have a little more "oomph". The emotion and steps were there but the heat and spicy sensuality was just not.
"Typecast" is a riveting story. Kim Carmichael definitely knows her Hollywood. With a relatively large cast everyone has their role and a distinct voice. There are only two superfluous characters who appear in a scene or two. The hero and the heroine undergo some character growth. The hero understands that there are shades of grey and people will make mistakes but things can be fixed. The heroine's growth isn't really there - she is still in need of the hero's strength and she is not as independent as I would have liked her to be. With such a strong story line, and great devices such as using the portions of the movie script to set up the action in the book; I'm disappointed and the lack of sizzle in the sex scenes, a less than impressive heroine when Ms. Carmichael showed such consideration to the details of the story. But, that being said, I really feel that "Typecast" was a great read.

Typecast is a sexy, enticing story that has a mysterious edge to it. The book's plot pulls you in chapter after chapter until you devoured the entire story and know the truth. It is definitely one of the best books I've read yet this year. It was absolutely magnificent.

Typecast is the first book in this new series about the stars of Hollywood Stardust, and it starts off with Logan and Ivy's romance. He is a Hollywood bad boy and she's a budding reporter covering the anniversary of his movie. I loved these two characters. They were fun. Smart. Interesting. Their connection and attraction to one another is alluring and seductive.

Twenty years ago Logan and three other actors created a movie that impacted their generation - then their world imploded with a scandal. One got the blame for the chaos. Two went on to be movie stars. And one completely disappeared off the face of the earth. Everyone thinks they know what happened that night but none of them have ever talked about it. Rumors swirled and everyone wanted to know their secrets. What happened that night to the cast of Hollywood Stardust?

Logan is keeping their secret - he's playing his part and has accepted his role. Except Logan is realizing that to have the future he wants with Ivy, he might have to let it all go. So he works harder at controlling and manipulating the situation; refusing to let everything he has worked at fall apart. You learn that he is not doing it all for nefarious reasons. There is more to his story and after only a few chapters you are rooting for him. You want him to finally get a happily ever after.

Once Ivy realizes that Logan isn't anything like the villain he played in a movie but a man she truly cares for, she wants the world to see him as she does. She is tenacious in her pursuit to right the wrongs of his past even though Logan has asked that she leave it all alone. As a reader, you're so thankful for every bit she uncovers - you're desperate to know what happened between these friends that night in the hotel.

The way Typecast unfolds is brilliant. You are given glimpses of the past and just enough knowledge to keep you on the edge of your seat. I freaking LOVED it. When Logan and Ivy's book ended - I was overwhelmed with a feeling of sadness. I had been completely captivated by their world, and I just was not ready for it to end. I cannot wait for the next book, Limelight.

Typecast is top recommendation from me. Read it now!!

Independent Reviewer for Archaeolibrarian I Dig Good Books.

Publicity around the sequel to the teen movie of its generation, Hollywood Stardust, was limited to Logan being arrested and the movie cancelled. 20 years later, on the original movie's anniversary, Logan does an interview with Ivy that will change things forever, for everyone. But some stories should never be told, kept secret, buried.

I was really enjoying this and then something changed, I've no idea what, nor can I say when or where it changed, just that something did change and I wasn't enjoying it as much. Had I noticed this earlier than the 60% I did notice it, I may well have marked it DNF and dumped it. But while I lost interest for a while, I DID finish it, and it picked up again.

I do like my books on the explicit side, I make no bones about it, nor will I apologise or be ashamed to say so. But THIS BOOK?? While there is heat, and passion and emotions ( for Ivy anyway, more on that in a mo!) the actual act is not explicit, there is no f**king. They make love, from the very first time, and its right and proper for this book. AND I BLOODY LOVED IT!! I really did. Beautifully written too.

I knew things were not as they first appeared on that fateful night all those years ago, I just didn't know the full extent, the full story til it was revealed in the book. I love being kept waiting!

I didn't feel as much as a connection to Logan, as I did Ivy, hence the comment before, don't know why though!

I loved the use of the movie script before each chapter, maing a point. Took me a couple of chapters to see thats what was going on, to figure it out.

There is a second book due out at some point soo, and I would like to read it. Drew and Erin have history, so much history, but its all from so long ago, and its obvious from this book, that they need new history.

so, because of Logan's lack of connection and the losing interest in the middle..

4 stars

4.5 hearts!
Hollywood drama! Behind the scenes of Hollywood's elite is an interesting place to be for sure! Kim Carmichael really mixes up her bag of tricks with "Typecast." I've read them all from her, the bad boys, the sci-fi, the crazy menage but I must say I really liked where she went with this new series. The characters are amazing, the story line had intrigue, drama, romance, humor, everything wrapped up into one.

It's the 20th anniversary of Hollywood Stardust. Logan Alexander was an original cast member in the never released film. An actor who is constantly considered a "bad boy," Logan wants to maintain his image and use this anniversary for a way to get gigs again.

Ivy Vermont has always wanted to be an actress and follow in the family's footsteps but an insane case of stage freight plagues her. That is until she has to work with Logan Alexander. The chemistry is there.

But like Hollywood, what would the day be like with out drama. Secrets long thought buried 20 years ago begin to resurface and have a profound effect on everyone involved. Ivy wants to investigate the story and see where it takes her.

Will these secrets destroy what Logan and Ivy have? How many other people will be effected? What does it mean for Hollywood?

A definite must read like everything that Kim has written. "Typecast" is a new story line for all of us romance readers!

I loved this book. I was on a bit of an emotional roller coaster while reading it. Everyone has dreamed of meeting their favorite actor/actress and them falling in love with you. That is what happens in this story. Ivy's family has some Hollywood royalty in it and see longs to be a leading lady but has horrible stage fright. Instead she works at Chargee.com as a fact checker and assistant of sorts. The leading man of her dreams comes in to be interviewed by her coworker Julia. Julia doesn't want to interview him because he wasn't the leading man in the movie. This movie is coming up on its 20th anniversary and one of those movies that had a huge impact. Ivy stands her ground and defends the movie and Logan. Logan decides he wants Ivy to do the interview. Somehow Logan manages to help Ivy get over her stage fright and do the interview. Ivy manages to turn one interview into several segments leading up to the anniversary gala. Logan thinks Ivy will make a nice distraction amongst all stuff leading up to the gala. Logan and his fellow cast mates are hiding a secrets. Logan and Ivy find themselves falling for each other. Will these secrets keep them apart? Ivy is going to dig for the answers and not just for her job. Will Logan be able to handle Ivy digging around or will he be held back by his need for the answers to stay hidden? Logan has this whole secret side to him that only Ivy gets to really see. In fact Logan has many sides. He is tough and cocky for the media, nice and loyal to his friends and family, and finally he is romantic and sweet to Ivy. Logan has never gotten the girl, is this his chance? Ivy is afraid that Logan will break her heart. Will this stop her from fully committing to him or will she take the chance? This book is great. The story pulls you in and makes you feel for the characters. The characters have depth and you want to part of their world. I can't wait to read the next book in this series. Another great book by Kim Carmichael.
I was given this book in return for an honest review.

✰✰✰ 5 STAR REVIEW ✰✰✰

Sometimes something that might be wrong can feel oh so right.

Ivy Vermont would love to be an actress on the big screen and follow in the family tradition of acting, but small bouts of stage fright seem to keep her behind the cameras. With the 20th anniversary of Hollywood Stardust quickly approaching, the webcast that Ivy works for is looking for the perfect thing to give them the edge over the other entertainment companies.

Enter Hollywood Stardust bad boy, Logan Alexander. All his life, Logan has been typecast as the bad boy, the one your mother warned you to stay away from. Holding true to his bad boy reputation, Logan will stop at nothing to make sure he maintains his image. That is until he meets Ivy Vermont. Smart, sexy and up to date on everything Stardust, Ivy is the opposite of the women that Logan has had in the past.

Trying hard to hide her crush on the teen heartthrob, Ivy notices that her stage fright is almost non-existent when working with Logan. It could be because the sexual chemistry between them is off the roof, or just the fact that Ivy is sharing camera time with her one time teen crush.

Logan and Ivy have a bit of a rough start, but once they get the ball rolling, the sparks fly. A novel full of heat, passion and suspense, you will quickly be turning the pages to see what happens next. I liked the connections that the author made from the movie and what was happening/going to happen with Logan and Ivy.

From the beginning, you could tell that something was a little bit off with the stories that the tabloids had run about Logan and the rest of the cast from Hollywood Stardust. Being and expert on the movie, Ivy wanted to get to the bottom of the story and find out the truth of what happened all those years ago.

If you are in the mood for a feel good story with a little bit of mystery and suspense, then Typecast is the book for you.

Ivy Vermont has one ambition, to be an actress, her family is all actors so naturally she wanted to go down the same route as them into that industry, however, there was one small problem with this plan. Ivy suffered terribly from Stage Fright. Still wanting to be in the industry Ivy found herself working behind the cameras.

Hollywood’s Stardust is celebrating its 20th Anniversary and the company Ivy works for wants to get that certain something that will give them the WOW factor over the other entertainment companies.
Ivy is one of those people who know everything about Stardust is the perfect person to interview Stardust legend and bad boy Logan Alexander.

Ahhh Logan, well what can I say about him, he has been portrayed all his acting life as the Bad Boy so instead of shaking those rumours off he embraces them. Well that is until he meets Ivy. Logan has had a lot written about him by the press and I felt he was getting the bum’s deal about his persona. Was the stories written about him all true, well Ivy being an expert on Stardust made it her mission to find out and to see if there was truth behind the stories or not.

I loved Ivy; she has a super crush on Logan and tries desperately to hide it. The one thing that is so noticeable is the attraction these two have with each other and Ivy finds that she does not have the usual stage fright when she is with Logan and let’s face it that can only be a good thing.

The chemistry is strong like I said but it does take a wee while for these two to actually get their act together but OMG when these two do get together the sparks fly, they just can’t get enough of each other and I loved to see Ivy happy and not self-conscious anymore with the help from Logan.

This is a really nice story to read, there is a little bit of everything in here.

Ivy Vermont has wanted to follow in her family's footsteps and become an actress, but her stage fright has prevented that and so she works as an assistant for a webcast that is dying to get a new angle on a 20 year anniversary of Hollywood Stardust, a Hollywood blockbuster.

She is the perfect person for the job as she has loved the movie, it's stars and even did a thesis paper on it. So when she meets Logan Alexander, she is star struck. Logan is typecast as the bad boy and he doesn't seem to want to dispel that image. It is apparent when Logan and Ivy begin working on the story together that sparks fly. And Logan wants her to do the story, no one else.

"Miss Details is the only one for me. It seems she has found something to talk about other than drugs, Drew and sequels, since I won't answer those questions anyway."

As this story unfolds, we are revealed into a lot of the secrets around Hollywood Stardust's movie and sequel that was cancelled and the reason why. It is made apparent that the story running wild isn't really the truth and Ivy wants to figure out the real answers.

"Before we have to say goodbye, are you going to tell me if you wish you would have gotten the girl?" Sharp. She got back on point and that made her even more alluring. "Maybe I never found the right girl to get."

I totally enjoyed this book and I loved how the author wrote the real-life story of Logan and added in the chapters from the screenplay. Simply wonderful!

There were some ups and downs and some OMG's, did that really happen? Both of these characters were strong people and I loved them. The supporting characters were very well done as well.

If you want a very different, refreshing story, this is for you!

I was gifted a copy of this in exchange for my honest review.

This is book 1 in the Hollywood Stardust series
This is my first book by this author, and trust me its not my last !!!
This was absolutely NOT what I expected. I'm not really sure what i thought it was going to be .... a Soap Opera, more like a play ??....I went into it very unsure how i was going to feel.
Well, HOLY CRAP !!!
I FEEL AMAZING !!! I LOVE THIS BOOK !!!
Logan Alexander, MINE MINE MINE
I love this man to pieces. There is so much more to Logan than you imagine when you read the synopsis. I expected some jerkface alpha with his head up his own A** ~~~ OH HELL NO !! He's funny as hell, sweet, sexy, cute, vulnerable and just outright awesomesauce !!
I really really love this character. He breaks my heart, and he picks it up and puts it all back together for me.
Ivy, I will definitely say is a strange one, but shes sweet and cute and you cant help but feel that tug at your heart for her.
Both lead characters are written very well and the switch from his to her POV is smooth and done very well. The development of the feelings between Logan and Ivy just makes me all happy inside .... What a great couple and what a great story they have to tell.
the side characters are written very well and i have to say i'm a little smitten with Wilson and Drew. But if you want to know more about them you will need to read the book.
The book is very well written and the story line keeps you wanting more and i struggled to put it down to get some sleep last night.
I cant stress enough how much I adore Logan !! I love his sarcasm mix with a bit of vulnerability. It breaks my heart to even think about what he gave up and went through for the others .... again ... read it people .... you dont want to miss this !!
I highly recommend this book, series and author !!

One movie that not only defined Logan as an actor, but as the villain. Twenty years later, Ivy gets to interview this icon, this villain. During this exclusive few weeks before the 20th Anniversary of Hollywood Stardust, Ivy learns more about Logan than anyone else. She digs deep to find the answers, the real answers. Not only has the audience cast Logan as the villain, he's put himself in this role, as well. Learning how to be the real person in public has become tremendously hard. This is where Ivy steps into the picture.
I fell in love with this story. These characters are so real. You see the dynamics of real emotions, the internal damage we cause to ourselves and the beautiful actions of those we let close to help us heal. These characters grow so much from beginning to end. This story has a unique aspect that you not only have the storyline of Logan and Ivy, you also get to see the Hollywood Stardust movie baseline. There are very defined supporting characters who are not only integral, but give this story a feeling of growth. I see the future of the story going to great lengths to show how wonderful this group of people have become. This is such a heart-happy story, but it gives you the full spectrum of emotions. I recommend this book to any and all!!

ARC Kindle Copy for Review

It was twenty years ago when a movie called Hollywood Stardust changed the lives of four actors and a generation of teens.

Logan Alexander was typecast as the villain in front and behind the screen. As the 20th anniversary approaches, he finds himself in the limelight again after he let his star status fade. Now he must again deal with unwanted publicity and things left in the past remain on the cutting floor.

Ivy Vermont has always wanted to be a leading lady bit she suffers from paralyzing stage fright. Thus she ends up being a fact checker at Chargge.com’s entertainment webcasts. So when her one time fan crush walks in to the studio demanding she be in charge of his story, she knows that this is her chance for her dream to come true.

They find themselves working together and falling for each other. Will Logan be able to walk the line between the promises of his past or will he let his heart fall in love? Can Ivy have her longtime fantasy? Or will they suffer from the past and paparazzi?

Sweet story of fame and what it can do to you.

All Logan Alexander wanted a career but none of this happen in part to the reputation of being a bad boy in the teen idol movie classic "Hollywood Stardust". With the twentieth anniversary of Hollywood Stardust on the horizon, Logan's job is to be the mouthpiece for his two other co-stars Ryder Scott and Erin Holland. Logan flatly refuses to work with the reporter assigned to him instead he chooses Ivy Vermont. Ivy Vermont has terrible stage fright yet in Logan's presence she doesn't feel that at all. Ivy's favorite movie is Hollywood Stardust along with bad boy himself Logan Alexander. Ivy's assignment get the truth about the cast, the sequel, and missed opportunities. As Ivy gets to know Logan, she discovers that there is more going on to the story which everyone seems to know. Will Ivy get the story? Can Ivy deny her attraction to Logan? Find out in Typecast.

This new to me author really outdid herself with the crafting of this story. The characters were flawed, raw, real, honest, compelling, and intriguing. The story is classic yet unique too. I'm definitely looking forward to the next book in the series.

I wanted to take a chance on the Hollywood Stardust series because the idea behind it got my attention. Four people who have struggled with the backlash that early stardom had brought to their young lives. Typecast is the story of Logan Alexander. Logan was caught in the cross hairs of a character he helped to create. His burst of stardom from from years ago has affected his career and his life enough that he left it all behind. Now with his starring role bought to the spotlight again he has to face the issues that drove him away from Hollywood twenty years ago.

Logan is a character that is not unlike anyone else. The opportunity to experience the bright lights and big city was something he enjoyed until he lost his identity. He wanted the attention the role brought until it started to have a negative affect on his life. Never is that more obvious than with his relationship with Ivy. Starstruck by his celebrity she is but a pushover she is not. In all Typecast is a dramatic look at life behind the scenes of the glitz of Hollywood. A little rough around the edges but with the right dose of reality.

Typecast has everything you would expect from a romance story set in Hollywood. Drama. Secrets. Sex. Romance. Scandals. Bribery. Cover-ups.

What I loved: The fact that Ivy finally got to meet her childhood crush, Logan, and found out that he wasn’t exactly the bad boy that everyone thought he was. That Logan helped her get over her stage fright. Their chemistry. The truth regarding the scandal that tarnished Logan’s reputation.

What I didn’t love: Sometimes, I lost interest in the book. Sometimes I got a little frustrated with Logan and Ivy’s behavior, but I guess that happens in books.

Time It Took to Read: 2 days

My Rating: 3.75 stars

If you’re fascinated with Hollywood scandals and romance, you’ll like this book. You might have your moments where you wished the storyline sped up, but overall, it was a good read. Give it a chance!

P.S. I received this book in exchange for my honest review.

Another excellent novel by the always-amazing Kim Carmichael! This is the first novel in the Hollywood Stardust series & it follows the show's villain, Logan. Twenty years go by & Logan is needed for an interview.. He is still a bit full of himself & decides he only wants Ivy, a studio assistant, to interview him, as he doesn't like the lead interviewer. The chemistry between Ivy & Logan is near instant.. You can feel it in every word, in every look...Logan is undeniably attracted to Ivy & she feels the same but Logan has also been a very private person for many years & has trouble letting Ivy into his world.. There are flashbacks from the scripts to Hollywood Stardust to help understand why Logan is the way he is.. The scenes in this book are intense, detailed, intriguing & sexy as hell! Typecast is easily one of my favorite books from this year! Don't miss it!
