Sam finally gathered the courage to approach the hottest girl he’s ever seen. He didn’t know she was a demon. Illusions, possessions, and a blood signed contract now navigate his life. The demon needs something only Sam can give her. She’s promised him everything he’s ever wanted. Will it be worth it?
My overview - A demonness has felt so many things, but the one thing she's never truly felt that she desires to, is true love.
Samual, a simple boy who she has bascically stalked for the last 6 months, seems like the perfect vessel, and although he's certainly hesitant, he agrees. It's not what he thought it would be though. Because hello it's a demon.
-------------------------------------- So first, let me say that the beginning of this book, I found quite enjoyable. It's a quick read, and the beginning was amusing. Sam, who is the boy in the book, sounds like a 16 year old boy, although the story line has him much older. This book has sexual context, but not rated R. Maybe PG-13 because of one of the scenes. I would say the book is more suitable to young adult readers.
That being said, a little more than halfway through the book, it took a major turn, and went from being quirky funny, to being violent and .... ... radical. That is really the best way for me to say it.
I am not sure where K.D. Reed is going with this story now, but I'd certainly give the next book a fair chance.
