* A paranormal romance with adult content. The perfect read for fans of strong heroines, alpha heroes, werewolves and shapeshifters, red-hot cowboys, romantic westerns, paranormal suspense, action-adventure romance, and fantasy romance! *
USA Today and Amazon best-selling author Anna Lowe loves putting the "hero" back into heroine and letting location ignite a passionate romance. She likes a heroine who is independent, intelligent, and imperfect — a woman who's doing just fine on her own. But give the heroine a good man (not to mention a chance to overcome her own inhibitions) and she'll never turn down the chance for adventure, nor shy away from danger.
On any given weekend, you might find her hiking in the mountains or hunched over her laptop, working on her latest story. Either way, the day will end with a chunk of dark chocolate and a good read.
Fate is working her magic... Can two different shifter species be mates?
Desert Rose is book five of The Wolves of Twin Moon Ranch by Anna Lowe. It's a breathtaking passionate romance.
I was glued to the pages. Axel and Beth where wonderful together, both of them have fears, but Fate and those they care about won't let them miss this chance to find love and happiness.
This was another wonderful addition to this series. It will warm your heart and make you fall in love with the characters. It's full of exceptional characters, phenomenal banter, wonderful storyline, gripping suspense, family, emotions, action, danger and passionate jaw-dropping sensual romance.
As always ALowe does a spectacular job setting up her characters and writing the sensual scenes. I enjoy how the author sets up her human and shifter sides. They end up having such interesting conversations. The sensual scenes are believable, loving and hot. I can't leave out previous characters that make little appearances, one that tries to get in the way, and others that well try to help this couple come together.
Desert Rose was an amazing read. I was captivated by the journey that Axel and Beth go through and how they finally found a home in each other and a place to belong. Paranormal romance lovers will enjoy Desert Rose and this series.

The events that make Book 5 starts possible occur in Book 4. Just like the others stories in the series, this one does not disappoint! Axel and Beth’s story is one of sweet, shy love and how that love can give you strength that you never knew you had. I had never heard of a javelina before this story so I looked it up to see what one looks like. Although the animal itself is not as sexy as bears, wolves, coyotes, or big cats, the man himself (at least in my mind) is quite a hottie with far better manners than many people I know today! Beth’s wolf is a hoot in and of herself. She’s far outspoken and passionate than Beth the person is. If she existed in RL, I know that we’d get along great because I am that kind of person although I really do wish that she’d gotten a swipe at Audrey. Honestly, anyone who’s been following this series knows that Audrey either needs her own story with a man who can put her in line or she needs to have her a** kicked for stepping out of bounds just one time too many, lol! I can’t wait for the in-between story or the next book! That’s one of the things I love most about this series. Anna Lowe gives the readers little stories that are “scenes” if you will that I’m sure many of us really wished for within the books. The scenes just make you love her writing and the characters even more!

Oh my goodness, I think I cried more in this book than in the others in the series so far. 'Desert Rose' truly was a work of art. From the very start I was sucked in, entranced by what I was reading. I FLOVE Anna's "The Wolves of Twin Moon Ranch" series & this book was no different, PLEASE read this series in chronological order, as each is filled to the brim with information. I would suggest you read this series in the following order... Desert Hunt bk 0.5, Desert Moon bk 1, Desert Wolf 1-4, Desert Blood bk 2, Desert Fate bk 3, Desert Heart bk 4, & Happily Mated After bk 4.5, Desert Rose bk 5 & Desert Yule.
Javelina Axel is slowly healing from the Hellhound attack at Twin Moon Ranch, whilst he was unconcious he kept hearing the voice of an angel, her voice kept him fighting to get better. Weeks later he finally wakes up, but his angel isn't anywhere to be found, but he still has to heal. lowly getting used to how wolf shifters live, his angle finally shows up. Beth felt drawn to the seriously hurt Axel, she read to him even when she thought he couldn't hear, but she has to leave the ranch for a few weeks....
I really wanted to learn more about the Javelina shifters that made an entrance in one of the previous books, then after reading 'Desert Heart' I really needed to find out more. I'm so glad Anna didn't make us wait too long for the answers. Also after 'Desert Heart' I was wondering just HOW Axel & the Javelina's came when they were needed, again Anna answered this. I'm not going to give ANY spoilers away, but if you've read any of the "The Wolves of Twin Moon Ranch" series you wont be dissappointed. I can't wait to read what Anna has instore for us next.
OMG I wanted to read this story from the moment I read the A Rose in Bloom, the epilogue to Axel and Beth's story in "More Wicked Alphas, Wild Nights" and man am I glad I did! I was up till 2:30 in the morning because I could not put it down.
Axel a Javelina (boar) and Beth's (wolf) courtship is Poetry in motion, but will Ty the Alpha of Twin Moon allow him, a boar, to be with one of the pack females even though he saved his sister and her mate from a sure death. After all, he has never been in his human body for this long and he has never heard of such a thing as inter species matings.
Beth has ever been the simple, librarian, engrossed in her Romantic Novels and reading to the pack children, she never expected to find a mate like all the other good looking girls in her pack, after all she is just a plain, big girl. Little does she imagine that she is an angel to someone that only dreams of her.
Axel never expected that the angel of his dreams was real, until he hears her reading to the children. Can it be possible that she is real and that she may feel the same as him?
This story has so much suspense, hope and love, you will not want to put it down.
Nothing should keep these 2 souls apart, but imminent danger to his clan may just shatter their cocoon of hope and love.
I have read the whole Twin Moon Ranch series, they are all great, but this one really got to me.
Javelina-shifter Axel is not used to stay in one place, he´s spent his life always on the move, defending the packs territory, but being injured while helping the Twin Moon pack meant that he´d stayed there for recuperation. The shy librarian has also a part in Axel´s contentment, but making a move would mean he´d be shown the door. Beth can´t resist the gorgeous man, but she knows she´s far beneath him. As luck will have it, though, she´s got friends who helps when she lacks courage. And her Wolf is clear on what she wants, too. PNR Romance, action, suspense and smutty fluff in a great combo. Love this series! Disclaimer; I was given a free copy in exchange for an honest review.
Cute shifter series. Each book has has been a light easy very enjoyable read. If you're looking for sexy alphas and sassy heroines with brains, heart & soul, give this series a go. 4 solid stars!
Desert Rose was a sweet and romantic read with enough action and emotion to satisfy even the most opinionated reader.
Axel came to the rescue in the previous book of the series. He is a javalina (boar) shifter and their animal sides are usually more dominant than their human sides. Axel is very shy and isn't one to interact with others easily, as he doesn't stay in one place long. He is recovering from a brutal attack and during this time he hears an angel's voice reading to him as he struggles to stay in the land of the living.
Beth is a very subdued and sweet natured wolf shifter. She hates confrontations and shies away from people. She feels a connection towards the unconscious hero in the infirmary, and spends her days next to him. She fights the attraction, though, as she feels that two different species cannot be together. She will soon realise that there is no fighting destiny.
Just as they come together, Axel's father comes and takes him away to fight their enemy who is threatening his childhood home. The javalinas will have to join forces with the wolves amidst a cunning ambush and a life threatening battle.
This series just gets better the more I read it. We always get strong, independent and courageous female characters that have their own quirks and weaknesses that make us relate to them. Alpha males that exasperate us for many different reasons yet we want one of our own.
Wonderful and captivating writing that draws you in from start to finish!
I was gifted a free copy and have voluntarily chosen to leave an honest review.
Series: The Wolves of Twin Moon Ranch #5 Rating: 4 stars - It was really good
Axel Waldermann’s days at the Twin Moon Ranch are numbered. The last thing he needs is the temptation of a cute she-wolf, especially since it might mess up the fragile alliance between the shifter clans. But Axel can’t ignore Beth Carter for long, and neither can she.
After the javelina shifters were introduced in previous books, I was interested in learning more about them. Axel was a very sweet but big guy who is taking this opportunity not only to heal, but to enjoy his time as a human. As a javelina shifter, he spends months in his animal form and this is the first time in years he has been a human for so long.
Beth is the ranch librarian and early education teacher. She is instantly attracted to Axel but tries to ignore it because she doesn’t think anyone would be interested in boring old her. While Beth was a quiet one, we quickly see she has a heart of steel and isn’t afraid to fight for what she wants.
Beth and Axel had a great story that I was hooked on from the very beginning. Also I really like how this ranch is shaping up to be a really welcoming and protective community. It’s great seeing all the changes to this pack and how much healthier it seems. I hope we get to meet more shifters within this world in future books now because I enjoyed this one a lot.
This was great!! Love this series! This one is a really sweet one with a sweetheart of a man. Axel is a boar shifter, who was injured saving wolf pack member Tina in the last book when he took on a hellhound. Axel is now doing better, but likes being at Twin Moon, so he helps out around the ranch and tries to keep his head down, so he doesn't have to leave. Especially now that he's met angel voiced Beth. Beth feels drawn to Axel, but she's a bit shy. Axel feels drawn to Beth, but he thinks the wolf pack would frown upon a boar and wolf mate pairing, but these two connect anyway. These two are so cute together! Both are mainly gentle, soft spoken individuals, but they can be fierce when it warrants it. There's lots of heart in the story between Beth and Axel. These two also have great chemistry, which leads to some great sexy times. There's also a bit of action in the story, and I liked seeing a shifter type I haven't read about before. I love how Anna Lowe puts actual characteristics of the animals the shifters shift into. Like with Axel being a boar shifter, he sometimes scraps his foot, which is too cute! I've loved all of the books I've read from Anna Lowe, and will continue to read her stories! I really enjoyed reading Axel and Beth's story!
First thoughts: Too focused on the destined mate at the beginning, but great second half of the book. Beth really surprised me.
Review: What the heck is a javalina????? Thanks to the internet I learn about the javalinas. Interesting creatures, but not sure how I feel about a shifter javalina. Axel has been recovering from his encounter with the hellhound. The encounter saved Rick and Tina's lives, so yay for Axel. Axel is described as a gentle giant. He really likes the live in Twin Moon Ranch and is dreading the idea of heading out.
Beth is the quiet ranch librarian. She is intelligent and "softer" than her peers. Wolves are described as long and lean, while Beth is described as curvy. Beth took care of Axel while he was recovering and then left Arizona for a few weeks. Upon her return, Axel and Beth can't stop looking at each other - but two shifter species seems like an unlikely mate. Of course, nothing is impossible and these two develop a strong relationship. Beth gets to demonstrate her strength in many ways and Axel learns that being in human skin is a good thing.
Desert Rose is about a wild boar shifter named Axel Waldermann who is at the Twin Moon Ranch recovering from injuries he got while assisting the wolves fighting a hellhound. He is sure they pack would not like his interest in the pretty little librarian, Beth Carter, but he can't seem to stay away from her. He is worried that his father will show on the ranch demanding that he leave and return to the nomad life he lived before, running and fighting over territory with all and sundry. He craves the peace of Twin Moon Ranch and the love of a shy wolf shifter, but will he ever get to ask her to be his mate?
I wasn't expecting Beth. She's quiet and gentle. Desert Rose was a very sweet story. Beth and Axel are both not strong boisterous alphas that are generally written about. They are two people that enjoy the quiet moments and the beauty of everyday things. It was pleasant to see their inner fears work themselves out and to see the blossoming of their love. Beth was as fierce as any wolf saving her mate when needed. Axel was just the best thing for Beth, strong but gentle and caring, sigh.
He was hurt critically in the fight with the hellhound. Because he fought so bravely, he is welcome to stay on the ranch for as long as he wants. She been gone for a few weeks and she can't wait to see how the patient is doing now. Both of them have an awareness of each other although they have yet to meet. This is an entertaining read. Enjoy I did.
WOUNDED RARE JAVELINA, THE SWEETEST LIBRARIAN, IT'S A MATCH MADE IN HEAVEN! A Beautiful sweet story that had me smiling! These two different type of shifters never thought they were important and put everyone else first, their lives so different yet yearning for something more. Inside they are a perfect pair but Lots has to happen before they get their happy ever afters. Well recommended.
Every book in this series is fantastic. Ms. Lowe pulls you in and never lets go. Her writing is seamless, the characters are real, you are there with your heart pounding the whole way. Action, love tears. I promise you will not be disappointed.
This series just gets better and better. The characters are wonderful. The storylines are exciting and captivating. And the romances are everything you could want. This author keeps getting better with each book. I can't wait for the next book in this series.
This book the fifth in The Wolves of Twin Moon Ranch was wonderful. Beth and Axel’s Story was fast paced, intense and beautiful. I loved the storyline and the love between these two. Great book for sure! ❤️
Excellent shifter story, set in the southwest. Can smell the desert dust in this one! Great well developed characters.I can't wait to read the entire series, then see which others to try!
Beth's angelic voice pulled Axel back from the brink of death. He saved her packmates in a furious battle. She saved him with her loving heart. My new favorite.
I'm glad that two different shifters got together that they didn't have to stay with their own. I'm glad that the two different packs were able to help each other.
Gripping and a page turner. Love this series cannot get enough of them. Always lovely to read how the story and love developed. Can we all have a wolf mate ;-)
