About the author

whose real name is Maadapoosi Krishnaswamy Govinda Kumar, is a famous Tamil cartoonist, journalist, writer and film critic who works for Ananda Vikatan magazine, a leading Tamil weekly.

During 1970s, he started his career as cartoonist at Ananda Vikatan magazine. Later he was assistant editor of Ananda Vikatan and Junior Vikatan(Tamil weekly).

Madhan has a cool writing style akin to a 'cool' professor talking about a topic he is passionate about. This is an easy read book filled with content, humor and yes, Madhan's cartoons. Wish he wrote more books.

I invariably buy cartoonist madhan book as soon as it gets published n also when I find time to read.
. His books always leaves u in wonder and needless to say, would be compilation of all the interesting facts about any topic he is going to discuss. I wonder why he is not writing many books on many topics he know. . Obviously nice read !

This book suits well for beginners, briefs about the creation of the Sun family, about the works and life of early astronomers and the consequences, hatred, trials they faced when they tried to prove the God's theory wrong, in laymen terms.

Madhan conquers the readers with his astute writing skills cobbled with his wit. The interesting part about this book is its varied theme. First half of the book talks about astrologers/mathematicians who laid the foundations for today's knowledge on Astronomy and the second half hits a melancholic note on how small we are in the vast expanse of the universe. Overall, an easy read with Madhan's quirkiness.
