His

Didn't like the book, not sure how I managed to finish it. The worst was the constant repetition, it's like ever few chapters they have to do a recap of everything that already happened, it's so boring and annoying. The plot is somewhat predictable and not very interesting. I don't like how the guy kept punishing and pushing Ana away, and she kept going back. Not a reading I would recommend.

The plot is: Ana is a surrogate for a family that her mother's best friend is working for, her mother has cancer and she needs money, so she agrees to carry the baby for them. Just after the procedure her mother dies and a few days later the woman that contacted her about the surrogacy. She runs away, thinking of keeping the baby, thinking that the father doesn't care about them, but he tracks her down, and it turns out that he was the one that wanted a family and his dead wife was a drug addict that didn't care about anything, even less a family.

He seduces her, have sex with her, and then gets angry at her for using sex to try to control him, and tells her she has to go with him to where he can keep an eye on her to make sure she doesn't escape again or put his child in danger. She has a problematic pregnancy and turns out she is pregnant with twins. They go between being in good terms to be fighting, between him caring about her to threatening to take everything from her and not allowing her to be part of the kid's life, like they agreed from the beginning.

He is accused of killing his wife, and the mother of his late wife is doing everything she can to throw him in jail, Ana goes to her trying to make her stop, but the old lady goes crazy because she didn't know about the babies and decides to take custody from Nicolas. After that he gets mad and attacks Ana, who starts having contractions, she is then taken to the hospital and has to stay there for two months to avoid having the babies before time. When the babies are born and finally go home, they start mending the relationship and get back together, and then discover that the kids are Ana's, that they never used Nicola's wife's eggs for the procedure, so they get married and enjoy their children.

Things that bothered me:

- At the beginning she says he is her nemesis, but at the first opportunity she sleeps with him, and does it again and again even when he treats her like garbage.

- When they first talk about the babies, she says that she doesn't want to know the sex, and he says he does, so he can set up the nursery, but when the doctor asks her if she wants to know she says they have never discussed it.

- Constance is supposed to be like a mother to her, but she only gives her cryptic comments about why she should stay away from Nicolas, instead of saying what she knows, until the very end when Ana is already in love with him.

- He treats her very bad, never does anything for her, but she ends up falling in love with him anyway.



Beauty and the Billionaire

Highly predictable, very repetitive, not really interesting. It is kind of a Beauty and the Best theme, with a beautiful girl that thinks she is a beast, and a good guy who looks bad and thinks himself a beast, and don't forget the good looking guy that ends up being a very bad guy. I don't know what I was expecting, but this book didn't do it for me.

Amanda Beauty didn't listen to her parents and went to a party when she wasn't supposed to go, the night ended with her and her drunk best friend driving around and crashing against two cars, one of which just happened to be her parents' car. That night her best friend, her parents and another person died, and she blames herself. She tries to go to college, but the guilt don't let her be, so she runs away. She is working on a strip club when a guy goes find her and offers her a job. She is curious as for why someone would go out of their way to hire her, so she decides to give it a try.

It turns out the job is being the assistant of the president of a company, someone everyone calls the Beast because he is always in a bad mood and yelling at everyone. Her first day she ends up running out of the place in tears because of how he yells at her, but she thinks it's her penance for causing the death of so many people, so she keeps going back, until she starts to become friends with him.

It turns out that he offered her the job because he feels responsible for her parents death, he was on the side of the road when her parents stopped to help and he was the reason they were there when her friend lost control of the car and caused her parents and his fiancee to die. He doesn't know she was on the other car and that she feels guilty. She doesn't tell him that she was there because she thinks of him as a friend and doesn't want him to hate her for causing his fiancee's death and giving him the scar that makes him hide away.

She was starting a relationship with Dan, but then he tries to rape her and she escapes, only he tracks her down and tells her that he knows everything that happened the day of the accident and he will tell his brother and then send her to the psychiatric ward, where she stayed after the crash for a while, if she doesn't spy on his brother for him. She does what he wants for a while, but then just as Dan is about to tell his brother that the girls he is in love with is betraying him, she confesses everything. She goes away and then Roland goes after her and the end up having sex, then Dan arrives and tries to kill them, but they manage to escape. Dan goes to jail and Beauty and Roland become a couple.

Things that bothered me:

- From the first time Dan approaches her, she suspects there's something more to what he said, so she decides to go investigate instead of asking him or his brother, she just keeps going to work.

- Roland tracked Beauty down and offered her a job because he felt guilty for her parents, but still treated her like crap at the beginning.

- Beauty thinks she doesn't have any right to have a life, but she goes with Dan and decides to start living at the same time that she is thinking that letting Roland treat her bad is her punishment for what she did.

- The Beauty at the beginning of the book is not the same as the one that arrives in Seattle, the character changes too much.



Thorn

Another repetitive book.

Riley is hired to act as Miles' wife in exchange for saving her aunt's house. Of course he is a jerk about it, ignoring her and leaving her alone most of the time, except when he needs her to act as his wife and when they go back to his home. She is with him during his mother's death and when he had trouble. Their relationship isn't supposed to be physical, but they end up having sex. Riley falls in love with him and is starting to think that their marriage could be a real one, until one day, after a night of sex, Miles sends her away, saying he doesn't need her anymore.

A few months later, when she is trying to get over him, her aunts give her a ticket for a cruise, once she arrives there she find Miles and she gets angry and wants to go away. He tells her that she has nowhere to go and that he needs her to help him once more, that he never filed the divorce papers and that they are still married, and that he needs her help, and that since her aunt's house is in his name, he will evict them unless she does what he wants. While they are on the cruise a guy arrives and shoots Miles' brother and then kidnaps Riley. It turns out that he is a mobster that blames Miles and his brother for his sister's death. He is trying to use Riley to hurt him.

Dominic takes Riley to Italy, and there he is arrested and Miles rescues Riley. He then explains that he needed to marry her to hide from Dominic and his father, and that he sent her away when Dominic's father threatened with kidnapping her if he didn't do what he wanted. He said that he had gone to the FBI and that once he thought she wasn't in danger anymore, he tried to win her back, that was the reason for the cruise.

At first she is not sure of taking him back, thinking he will always be in love with his first fiancee, the one his brother took away, but then she talks to the ex and decides that Miles really loves her and accepts to go back to him and make their marriage real.

Things that bothered me:

- She falls in love with him while he is being a jerk to her.

- She lets him use her for sex every time he wants, and she just takes whatever he is willing to give her. No matter how angry or hurt she is, as soon as he kisses her she goes with him.

- When Miles fools her into going to the cruise, instead of telling her the truth, he blackmails her into being with him, but she never says anything about it, like she forgot that he lied to her and forced her to be with him.

- I was expecting a no more lies talk or something like that, but Riley just accepts that her husband lied to her for more than a year and that he doesn't have any trouble lying to her, and never makes sure it won't happen again.



Blindsided

I liked this one better than the others in the bundle. And after reading the other three it feels like a very good book in comparison, but it's not that great of a book even if it was better than the others.

It gets a little bit repetitive at times, and it feels like, sometimes, the story is not advancing. My main problem with this one is that it feels unfinished. It was going very well despite everything, and then it just stopped. I guess that you get the end everyone was expecting, but at the same time, so many things are just left in the air. So many elements were introduced and then not used and I hate that.

Harry is a very successful CEO who finds his lost love, and while talking to her and wondering why she never contacted him again, he discovers that she did try to contact him, and not only because she liked him, but because she was pregnant. When she decided to give her baby in adoption, she even sent him a lawyer to sign the adoption papers.

He blames his father for the lost time and gets angry, and decides to find his son and get him back, but it's been fifteen years and his sister talks to him and tells him that it would be cruel to take his son from the only life he ever knew, and that he needs time to think about it. He decides to act as a teacher in his school to get to know him. His adoptive parents are dead and he is under the care of his sister. Harry thinks that she is not doing a good job, but she is working long hours to support her brother, and he is an adolescent with identity issues.

As a teacher, he calls her to try and pressure her to pay more attention to her brother, saying that he has great potential, but he is not living up to it. Then, after a football game, TJ gets drunks and gets arrested. Mad at the situation, Harry calls his lawyer to start the custody battle, and then forgets about it. After talking to Penny he leaves, but then Penny and TJ fight, and when she can't find him, she goes to Harry for help. They find him at his friend's house, and after that they spend some time together and end up having sex. The next morning Penny is served with the custody papers and Harry has to tell her who he is and what he wants. Penny gets mad at him for lying to her and throws him out of her house.

The battle starts and everything seems to be going Harry's way. Penny is forced to tell TJ that his father is looking for him and TJ gets happy to finally be able to meet him, while Penny is afraid she is going to lose him. Just before they have to go to court Penny talks to TJ and finds that he wants to get to know his father and that he always wanted to know how his life would have been if he wasn't adopted, so Penny decides to give custody to Harry. While they are at court discussing the custody, TJ gets into an accident and breaks his leg, putting at risk his football career.

Penny is afraid that they are going to use it to take TJ from her, since she already gave them the papers accepting Harry's rights as TJ father, but Harry never files the papers, and he lets Penny take the lead in most decisions, but he looks for the best therapy for his son and tells her that they have to go so TJ can have the best chance at recovery, at first Penny thinks he is taking TJ from her, but Harry asks her to go with them, and that he doesn't intent to take her brother from her.

Harry and Penny finally recognize the feelings between them and decide to get married and raise TJ together.

Thinks that bothered me:

- I never understood why he couldn't just go to Penny from the beginning, explain the situation, and ask for a chance to know his son. I don't get why he had to act as the teacher and hide his true identity for so long.

- At first Harry blames his father, and then realizes that it was his mother who forged his signature and gets mad, but never really does anything about it, he tells his mother, he is mad, but other than refusing to talk to her for a while nothing really happens.

- Harry's sister was supposed to be the cautions one, the voice of reason, but it looked like she just complicated everything and sometimes I felt like she wasn't really on his brother's side.

- I don't get how if they were so suspicious of his drug addict brother, they accepted him so easily.

- If Penny hated the bakery so much, why did she fight so much for it? When Harry arrived, she could have sold the bakery and go to wherever her brother was going, if she was so worried about being with him.

- So many things were left in the air: TJ recovery, Penny's bakery, Harry's brother, TJ custody battle was left unfinished one way or another...





Addicted to you

This one was different from the others. It was kind of repetitive too, but at least it was somewhat different, not that it was good, but it was better. In this one we have a sex addict and a man that it's so flat and dull he was almost non-existent. Most of the book is in Megan's mind, her thoughts, her actions, her stuff. We see Levi, but there's not much about him. I would have liked to see Levi's character more developed.

The book starts with Megan's brother Matt dying while working as Levi's bodyguard. In his last breath, he asks Levi to find his sister and help her. Levi goes looking for Megan, and find her in a bar. Megan has been waiting for Matt to take her to New York, in the meanwhile she works as a bartender, because it's easier for her to find someone to have sex with in the bar than other places. When Levi arrives and tells her that her brother is dead, her first instinct is to have sex with him. He understands that she needs to get off and helps her obtain her orgasm.
Since Levi promised to help Megan, he asks what she wants, and she wants to go to New York. He takes her there, and since she keeps asking for sex he keeps giving in to her, spoiling her as much as he can. He knows there's something wrong with her, but he ignores that at first, and in between sex and sex he falls in love with her. Later he receives threats involving her and he gets scared, fires everyone in his house and when Megan's first reaction to knowing there someone out to hurt them is wanting sex, he accuses her of being a sex addict. She gets mad and gets out, and for some reason, even if he is scared about the threat and everything, she doesn't have a bodyguard with her. When she finally returns, she decides to tell him everything.

When she was younger her mother married a man that eventually started blackmailing her to perform for him or he would hurt her mother. Her first rebellion ended up with him rapping her and the second one with him killing her mother. He is the one that is threatening them, because he wants Megan back and is mad that she is with Levi. They keep getting threats, but they can't find her stepfather, until later one of the bodyguards attacks Levi and then Megan, revealing he is her stepfather, only he changed his appearance so they couldn't identify him. He again asks her to masturbate in front of him so he can watch, but she only agrees to distract him, managing to get her gun and killing him.

After that she starts to go to therapy, she goes back to school, and then decides to start a foundation to help people like her that no one believes and that is at risk, and Levi and her stay happily together.

Well written

The books were all well written and entertaining. Enjoyed all but the last one. That book was depressing and was hard to read. Overall though a good collection of books.

Wowsa

Great stories. Strong female characters and men to swoon over. Glenna does it once more. There are some touchy subjects in the last book so be aware of that. Good love stories though, with great HEA!

So I read this book like a month ago and then forgot that there were 4 more stories... I remember I like the story and he was in some form romantic with her, he was by her bedside the whole time and how protective she was toward him and the final is good. I enjoy this one.

Beauty and the billionaire

I like the story, is good but I really hate the long narratives... I could say I read the book because I've got to the final but if I read 45% of the book is a lot. I keep scrolling the pages in search of a dialogue... I understand that she was in pain for losing the people that she loved but she keep telling that and did nothing until the last pages... I like romance, I don't need sex to enjoy one, but in this one I feel that it was the most non romantic making love in history. Maybe the author was in a rush? maybe the author thought ups I hadn't have a sex scene so here we go? maybe she could lost a bit the narratives and expand a little the final pages... I don't know maybe he could have switch on the heater and then have sex? maybe they could have a really hot bath and then have sex? maybe they could just shut up and talk after having sex while he hug her a little and then go to the bathroom? sorry... I didn't feel the romance.

I love this one... I scroll a little but that is because I am a bad reader and get impatient but when I read the final and what was going on I came back and read the whole book... Do I believe they would be together forever after? I definitely think so... And was this one romantic? I think so... the rose after they made love? that was romantic.

So maybe this month I am not feeling romantic. I read the whole book and I follow the story and I like it but again I don't understand why is a romance? Because is truly romantic to say that you are going to use him for sex and after you yell at him that you are going to call the cops. And in this one I have a problem with the story... I try not to judge the story because is fiction but you really wont tell the man you love Oh I won't tell you because I promise him that I wouldn't tell you because I love you and want to protect you after you find his brother trying to steal in his house... you are suppose to live in that house, the man you love is living in that house, your brother for whom you were fighting to keep the whole book lives in that house... I truly didn't believe that part...

Addicted to you

So the story is there... she was abuse, she is lost in her life and then he comes, they fall in love in five seconds of meeting each other and magically they live happy forever after... Oh! I forgot she is a sex addict and is auto immune to STD's and pregnancy.
First... why are you talking to me? you are suppose to talk to him. He is the one who wants to know your story. I am not suppose to be here.
Second... the prologue is his point of view... and then he is shot up the rest of the book... if he talks 10% is too much. Why do I have to believe that he loves her deeply since the beginning? what did he see in her? if he is a self made billionaire why he accepts a woman who doesn't do anything? only be in his house and watch tv?
And finally the long long narratives going round and round about how difficult have been her live... I dislike this book... would they live together forever after? You are suppose to think so but I don't know why.
