Finding a rare baby dragon, Roxanne the Ruby Princess wishes she could keep it but realizes it must be raised in the protective mist of the Valley of the Dragons. Original.
Jahnna N. Malcolm is the pen name for husband-and-wife team Jahnna Beecham and Malcolm Hillgartner. Together they've written four musicals, two movies, three CD-ROM games, and nearly one hundred books, including the popular series The Jewel Kingdom. They met in the theater and were married on the stage using Marlowe's famous love letter from "The Passionate Shepherd to His Love" as their wedding vows.
Not my favorite of the series so far, but it was decent. All the princesses showed up and Roxanne learned a lesson about not being selfish, although she was pretty whiny in this one. No mention of darklings or Lord Bleak for once.
Wow Roxanne was being a brat in this one, but as with the series on the whole, the Princesses always apologize and realize their mistakes for the better of the kingdom.
Listen you had me at baby dragon! But how cute and exciting was it to see the dragon lore explored more!! One of the many reasons I love the Ruby Kingdom!
If your child can read at this level it would be a good book. A fun beginning fantasy series. The plot lines are simple and easily solved with not too much of the dark side of fantasy.
