Six months ago, the young Dr. Joseph risked his practice, patients, and his safe and secure future on an idea – a theory universally denounced by his peers. Joseph’s decision takes him on a journey through peaks and valleys, a trek that reveals mysteries along the way – secrets that light his path. A tantalizing tale of a young doctor and his battle of where to turn and who to trust, Yourdrum depicts an epic journey of self-discovery, an inspiring quest for answers to life’s hardest questions. It’s a testing voyage that calls to all, yet is resisted by most.

I listened to the audio version, which was narrated by the author.

It was a nice listening experience (better quality than most audiobooks). The story is a bit cliché, but entertaining nonetheless. The writing is ok.

The main point is about following your own path in life: listening to "yourdrum".

And that's not at all a bad message to bear in mind.

I read Kevin's beauty-full story into the early morning hours before dawn. After awakening mid night & not being able to fall back asleep I decided to start it with a quick look, figuring I'd return to it at a more usual & standard hour. I read through the rest of the night, not able to close it until Joseph's fate was revealed. The book is everything & more than Kevin's humble summary details. So few are willing to risk safety & security to go "all-in" when their inner voice whispers. Even when it moves to a wail & sometimes winds up whacking with a 2x4 to get our attention, the fears are sometimes simply too overwhelming for many of us to find our courage to rise above. Yet, that call is always beckoning us to our best & highest good & is the surest way to self satisfaction & inner peace of heart & mind. From there, happiness is just a hop skip & jump away. Kevin's story passes along a powerful message...& in such an entertaining & inspiring way...at a time I feel needed now more than ever, in a world it seems so many are struggling. It was a wonderful reminder that helped me bolster my own inner beg to be brave as I face down some big fears right now. I'm very grateful & cannot wait to gift it to my boys as they embark on their own journey of life.

I received Yourdrum through a Goodreads Giveaway win, it was a quick, eye-opening read! There were a few sections about the periodic table that I had to read over a second time, simply because I am not that "into" science. In my opinion, it was worth the "read over" because the ending was enlightening. It made a lot of great points and the ending came together really well. My favorite part was one of the last conversations the main character had when it all made sense! Thank you for allowing me to read and review this book Mr. Kevin, I thoroughly enjoyed it and do recommend this book!! Hats of to you Kevin Stock

Beautiful read of self discovery and courage

How we respond to the drum within is a beautifully written story of discovery, dreams, survival and happiness. We all have a drum, but it’s how we respond to our challenges and fears that shapes our existence.

*I won this book through the goodreads giveaways*
This book reads a lot like a parable--it's to-the-point, and has an inspiring message at the end. A good read for an afternoon, as it is short enough and fast-paced enough that you might end up reading all of it before you know it.
