I can't help but gush over this wonderful story about two lovers who found their way to each other's heart after the death of a comrade. The day Nanci Bowman discovered that she's pregnant, was the same day she learned about her NAVY Seal husband's death. Oh the pain and suffering she felt was terrible, I could tell. It wasn't always easy listening to news about a loved one's death, right. Nanci Bowman surprised me though. She's one tough cookie, gentle woman in the outside but strong and determined on the inside. I loved how she continued to see the light at the end of the tunnel. I loved how she got through it all with a baby in her womb.
And I loved how Lt. Daniel Foster was there for her through thick and thin. Appointed to assist the widow's situation and care for her needs the best that he could, Dan couldn't help but admire Nanci's resilience and loving heart. I loved how his faith with the Lord never wavered, and had influenced Nanci to believe again in the Lord. Their moments together were heartfelt, heart-rending, heart-stopping and yes, also heart-breaking. I couldn't ask for a better man than Dan.
Vikki McCombie surprised me too with this new book of hers. Nanci & Dan's beautifully written story shot through my heart. Reminded me of my brother who was also in the Navy. Reminded me of those military wives who had been through a lot when it came to honoring their husbands. Vikki wrote a fast paced novel that really melted my heart.
And I loved how Lt. Daniel Foster was there for her through thick and thin. I thoroughly enjoyed writing A New Beginning for Nanci. As a Navy wife for many years, I know how hard it is to put fears at bay and go on with your life when your loved one is far from home. I want to thank all the military men and women who serve and protect our great country, along with their families who support and love them.
I spent over twenty years in Hampton Roads, Virginia and grew to love the area. I love the ocean and enjoyed its beauty almost every day as I traveled from Hampton to Virginia Beach where I worked. When this story came to me, I had to make Virginia Beach the setting. Happy reading!

MY LOVE FOR YOU IS STRONGER THAN MY FEARS
Every now and then you read a book that affects you emotionally, and that is how this book was for me. Vikki McCombie’s writing was so intense, I felt the pain and joy in the story. This isn’t a preachy story but shares a peace when trusting in the Lord. There are so many emotions, joy, heartache, loss, sadness, grief, acceptance, new beginnings, and even fear. I felt like I was on an emotional roller-coaster, going from joy to intense heartache. I don’t normally cry reading a story, but I was so emotionally pulled into this book, that I cried several times. The plot kept me in constant suspense with the emotional dialog, a great cast of characters, life and death situations, and learning to cope beyond the tragedy and trying to pick up the pieces of life and beginning again. Through everything that Nanci deals with, she does find peace, happiness and a promising future with the help of Daniel.

Vikki McCombie is a "new" author - for me. Loved her attention to detail and to reality! This romance grew in a normal way - some romance authors make you take a BIG leap that just isn't plausible! Love the heroine and the hero - and again the highs and lows of the story! A great arc from beginning to end!

This story was heartbreaking and heartwarming all in the same boat. If you put yourself in Nanci's shoes, could you be this strong? With the help of our strong hero, Nanci can do anything. Love this story.

A sweet, absorbing story with a strong heroine and a sexy, honorable hero. Nanci's grief journey is heartrending and ultimately heartwarming. If you enjoy sweet contemporary romance with a military theme, I highly recommend this book!!

What a cute, quick read! Although heartbreaking turns happen within the book it is a great story. The author does an amazing job building the story of Nanci and Daniel. I love that we get the story told from both point of their views without much crossover, it keeps the story moving.

This is an entertaining romance with many heartfelt, touching moments, some quite emotional. It's a pleasant read with an enjoyable storyline and engaging characters.
