***New Title and cover for The Truth About Mack & Shhh...***

Before you judge me for my part in all of this, for the things that I did, and for a past I may or may not have had control over, ask yourself who you’re really judging. Is it me? Is it Giana? Mr. Nichols? My parents? society?
There’s always three sides. In this case, it’s mine, Gia’s, and the truth. Once you have read them both, you’re free to judge who you want. You can decide what the secrets are, who lied, and who told the truth.

McKenzie Perry, AKA Mack.

They say everything happens for a reason.
They say time heals all wounds.
They say...They say...They say...
There's always two sides to every story and then there's the truth. Well Mack got her turn and now it's mine. This is my side. My story to tell. What happened through my eyes. When you're done reading you can make your own conclusions, pick and choose a side or take bits and pieces from each story and make your verdict.
Love me or hate me...
Because at the end of the day.

The truth will set me free.

Mack - Two Sides (Truth About Mack)

Mackenzie and Gia were best or should I say "frenemies" Two Sides is both Truth about Mack and Shhh together for the first time.

We kick off with Mack, this is the Mackenzie story by Jettie Woodruff.

Mackenzie and Gia were best friends who seemed to be jealous of each other. There were kind of thrown together by their competitive mothers.

This book was filled with secrets and lies, most you never see coming. With a bit of a taboo subject, it made the story even more enjoyable. Major twists and turns made you absolutely gripped to Mackenzie version of events.

Mackenzie is struggling to identify who she is growing up and it doesn't help when her best friend is Gia,the one decision in high school changed all involved lives forever in someway. The way the story is told you can't but take Mackenzie's side. You feel bad for the troubles she's had to deal with and her illness, this is a love story with a difference, you just hope with everything Mackenzie goes through and her struggle she can get her happily ever after.

Gia - Two Sides (Shhh)

Now we read from Gia's point of view by M. Robinson.

Gia is struggling just as much Mack with her inner demons, again this book is also filled with twisted lies and secrets. The premises of the story is the same just from different eyes/mind, both girls have different secrets and lies. Gia has her illness and you can't help but feel bad for her. She's just a lost lonely girl trying to be someone she's not until she meets the only person to understand the person that she is. Again it's a sad twisted love story of girl who wants to be accepted and loved for who she is. Will Gia be able to find her Romeo and get her happily ever after.

When reading Mack's story I hated Gia, but when reading Gia's side of the story I started to like her and felt bad for her. I then went onto equally loved/hated each girl in subsequent stories. Both of them had their own fight and struggles to be accepted. Both girls had family issues and it seemed both girls were so alike, and yet so different. It left you thinking the person you think you can count on isn't always the most reliable.

It's only until you unravel all the lies you begin to get the truth, but as they say the truth sets you free, well I'm not sure if it has after reading both sides. My mind has been completely f***ed.

But as Dr. House always say's......everybody lies.

I was given Arc in return for my honest opinion.

4.25 stars overall for both books!

Mack’s side: 3.5 stars
Gianna’s side: 5 stars

Maybe I should rate these separately? I do feel like both are necessary to read to get the whole story, but I wasn’t able to connect with Mack. However, Gianna’s side of the story seemed more genuine. It may be the way the stories were told and also the author’s writing style.

This was one crazy-trip of a book! Just picture Johnny Depp from the movie "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas!" Well, that was me the whole time, reading this book!

My goodness, so many; frickin twists and turns. And a side of; betrayal, bitterness, lies, manipulation, secrets, hidden skeletons, the jealousy, and more lies on top of lies. I am totally hooked by these 2 authors. This book is very well written and the story has a very good combination of deception, mental illness, suspense, taboo topics, and vengeance. Highly recommended!

Gia side Wow my head is messed up lol
I really enjoyed Gia's side of the story too but boy where these girls messed up from all the lies and secrets they kept from each other and everyone else I kinda got the feeling they where jealous of each other on certain things but none of them ever spoke to each other about it but I won't spoil it for anyone you just have to read and experience it for yourself and then Wow that Ending OMFG.. WTF! Just you wait I didn't see that coming

I will say that you NEED to read both sides to fully experience the rollercoaster of a ride.

Mack's Side This Read was DARK TWISTED BRILLIANT. AMAZING. WOW. INSANE. MIND BLOWING. DISTURBING. HEART-WRENCHING. HOT. ONE HELL OF A ROLLERCOASTER OF A RIDE AND I DIDN'T WANT TO GET OFF

What another great book by Jettie I love all her books but this one has to be the best to date of her work don't get me wrong all her books are great this one just has blown me away it has totally messed with my head I was hooked after reading the prologue that shocked me.
I loved Mack's side of the story can't wait to read Gia's side

This book is all the way messed up. There is so much going on, or so you think. Sometimes I though I was just as loopy as Mack. Poor thing just got caught in a life that she didn't choose. The end has a couple of big twist, the author threw them in there and I just didn't what was what anymore. Since this is Mack's side, I wonder what Gianna side will be. I did not like Gianna at all and I blame most of what happened on her, but like the saying goes there is always two sides to a story.

I can't really properly review this book. It's one of those mixed-feeling, rollercoaster rides... stuff I hated kept slapping me in the face, yet I was obsessed with it, not wanting to put it down, nose in Kindle every single spare moment, neglecting duties and responsibilities left and right until it was completely devoured.

I hated both main characters, with their selfish, self-involved, poor-little-rich-girl attitudes and petty jealousies of the other, yet I felt empathy for them.

I was grossed out by the love stories of each girl, yet I was rooting for both.

I hated the little twisty, mind fucks both stories gave and how readily unspeakable horrors were performed and forgiven, yet I read on.

I don't get my fascination with this twisted tale. It chewed me up, wrung me out, turned me inside out, and regurgitated me several times, yet I read on.

I'm a bit disgusted with myself that I was entertained by this essentially terrible nightmare of a story. It was the kind where only horrible things happen, and maybe since the characters were a little horrible in their own right, I took a bit of sick pleasure in their misery. What kind of person does that make me? I liked that both had a happy ending, so does that redeem me?

Ugh. I need a rom-com stat.

Hell yeah it's a tough read! It's real life!! Real messed up but real for so many people! It was like after being bi polar I then became an alcoholic. Holy friggin hell the feels these books have given me! It was like I was 2 other people reading this entire book!! And the ending of Gia's story? I'm absolutely blown away!!!!! Phenomenal read!!!

Just a quick review of this one...it took me a long time to finish. Not because life interrupted, but because I had to walk away from it for a bit. This is a tale of two friends and their lies...lies to each other, lies to the world, lies to themeselves.

It was twisted. It was at some parts, hard to read, but it delivered a story unique to writing with duel authors...two sides to the same story. Which is true? Which is not? And which one really gets what they had hoped out of life?

I didn't love it. I didn't hate it...but, I can say I wasn't completely indifferent either. Both authors brought a tale to life full of deceit and...dare I say it? Forgiveness? If that's even possible. Or maybe it was all just one big game...where no one left unscathed.

I don't know how to articulate my feelings on this book.
It was effed up. It was a roller coaster. It was amazing.
The way the authors came together was great. There were a few tiny discrepancies but it flowed smoothly for having two separate authors. I felt like Gia's book was a little less involved but with more totality if that makes sense. If not I'm sorry I don't know how to word it right. Gia's epilogue threw me for a loop and now I need another book........
Thanks ladies for sharing these Two Sides.

I had already read Gia’s book and now it’s time for Mack’s POV.
Mack is not the perfect girl with the perfect life that everyone believed. She has parents who completely ignore her and she suffers bipolar disorder, something that she doesn’t begin to deal with until adolescence.
Gia is aware that something is wrong with her friend but like Mack’s parents ignores her condition.
The only person who supports Mack in all of this is Kyle, Gia’s father. But things start getting messy between them when she 15 years old (23 years age gap between them, total taboo relationship)and she is having a episode. The affair doesn’t start immediately but once they start they cannot stop.( Mack is hyper sexual and she doesn’t control always what she does). They break up when Mack goes to college, they both believe that is best for her to meet new people.
Over the years she has 2 more men in her life: AJ, who is a wonderful man who supports her in all her difficult moments) and Colton( her co-worker). All of the men in Mack life are much older than her, yes daddy issues. But none of then can compare to Kyle.
When James Nichols kidnaps them to get revenge for having served 7years behind bars for a crimen he didn’t commit bc of the false testimony of these girls, he is not aware of Mack’s condition, and Mack often confuses reality/fantasy/memories. In the month that Mack’s stays in the asylum with Gia and James discovers that Gia is a shitty friend, a manipulative bitch, who tries to ruin her life in revenge for the affair that Mack has with her father. And when she finds out that James and Gia were lovers in the past, she loses it.
In these book there are a few surprises and secrets for Mack and Gia to discover.
The epilogue in Gia’s book left me wanting to read more about Jake, who turns out not to be the blind boyfriend he seemed to be.

The book includes one story told from Mack’s and Gianna’s POV.

I will review the first book-Mack’s side as I have finished it now.

The whole story idea I found brilliant. There is enough plot, suspense, mystery, romance to keep the reader interested in this story. Every chapter added something new and the writing style was very good. I loved Mack and the writer did a great job describing her mental health issue, it worked beautifully in the story. The subject dealt with, in the story, although was taboo, as it related to relationship between teenager and at least 20 years older male, was gripping and well presented. The emotions were so strong and genuine. The amount of secrets and lies between all people involved in the story unbelievable, but then that made this story so good.

Overall, without giving spoilers, I found the first part of the story exciting and well worth reading. I did not like Gianna but then I haven’t heard her side of the story. I could not decide on my feelings towards Mr Nicholson but the epilogue cleared his side and his contribution to events. He was right to act the way he acted. I think Gianna’s side of the story will have to meet the bar raised by Mack’s. I hope is as well written as Mack’s.

What I liked was how character driven the story was. The author did an amazing job of making the characters real with real struggles. I loved the 1 person POV. That was all I liked. I actually only ended up reading thru Mack's story, I didn't see the point of reliving a boring coming of age story from the best friend's view. Mack's mental illness and her struggles seemed more interesting than Gia's could possibly be. I started it but Gia seemed so whiny and since I already know what happens to Gia I didn't feel the need to read it.

Holy crap! Like seriously. What did I read??? These are some of the most messed up, vindictive, crazy stories I've ever read. I don't want to give anything away but you need to read these. It's a train wreck. A horrifying roller coaster that you just can't get off. Robinson amazes me with the level of crazy she brings to the table. Amazing. Gianna, McKenzie, Kyle and James are so far twisted in blows your mind.

Okay

In not entirely sure how to review this because it was so long that I got bored and have up after Jack's story. I don't usually have a problem with long books but I think getting the other side of the same story was too much for me. That said, I did read the epilogue to Gia's story and what a twist!

A Twisted take of two.

This book is one, but told in two stories. It may have triggers for some. Book one revolves around mental disorder, and so much more.
The first part is Mack's book. A Twisted best friends Daddy love affair.
This part is only told in Mack's POV through her eyes.
Here and Gianna have been friends all their lives. No matter what the other is there. They have a bond closer than most sisters. As time goes on though, Mack starts to realize she's different. Her thoughts and emotions are out of place and she doesn't know what's wrong with her.
Here's where the secrets and the deception starts. Mack doesn't want to let anyone down, so she tries to hide all this and act normal. But there is only one person who notices from the start and wants to help. Kyle, Gianna's dad. He wants to help, but after years things change.
And one night everything changed. It all led to many secrets and lies.
Mack and Gianna may have lived the same childhood, teen and years beyond, but they are seen through different eyes.
I don't want to give much more away. You need to read this twisted tale and decide for yourself.
If you like a twisted tale with a taboo edge to it, this is a must read.

Part two: Gianna. I'm just going to last my review from Two Sides-Gianna as it's the same.
This tale is of teacher-student gone completely wrong.
This is only Gianna's side of this twisted tale. If you get the book with the two faces on it. This will be part two of that book. Mack is story one. Which is the twisted part of the two sides.
It's going to be hard to review this as I've read both, and read Mack's story first.
This may have some triggers for some readers. Heed the warnings.
This book is told in Gianna's POV. You'll have to read the one with the cover of both girls for Mack's.
We have Gianna, her and Mack are bffs. They've grown up together all their lives. The front the show is all puppies and unicorns. Then little by little we're shown how things are everything but.
As time grows both the girls who now claim to be closer than sister, are hiding more and more secrets from each other. Not only that it's like their whole life becomes one big competition. They love to compete in cheer and dance. But their greatest competition is between each other.
Who's better at everything from grades, popularity, to who gets more attention from the others parents. Here's the thing while reading each one, your saying to yourself that the other is so mean and how can she be her friend. Then you see the other story told and it's a completely different perspective of the same story. It's a wild ride.
I don't want to give to much away and ruin the twists, turns, and shocking moments of the book/books (if you continue to Mack's story).
As any book of M's the characters and story jump off the pages. The words flow with such realistic happenings and events of growing up.
You're probably wondering why I keep using a plural form instead of her, she, and just Gianna. Here's the thing, they're literally always together!!
Not to mention the physiological parts of their adult life and the consequences for everyone's actions.
This isn't one of those books where just the names change and the rest is all the same.
I would highly recommend this twisted tale.
Whose side do you believe to be true?? You must read to find out.

Lies, Secrets and Jealousy

There are always two sides to a story, in this book its Mack's story first then Gia's.
This was one of the most captivating stories I've ever read. I originally read Shh, by M. Robinson first about six months ago. I was intrigued by this book right from the beginning.
Gia was a spoiled rich girl, always getting what she wanted. Her life was as good as it gets. She had loving parents, went to a prestigious high school and had a best friend named Mackenzie that she grew up with. From a outsiders point of view she had everything. But what if your life is not as it seems? What if your life had secrets, and lies and betrayal?
Gia was the perfect girl on the outside, making sure she portrayed this perfect image.
Until her senior year when everything changed...
What happens when you fall in love with someone your forbidden to see?
What happens when your hiding secrets from your parents and your best friend?
Gia's life started spinning out of control. How long could she keep everything hidden from the ones she loves?
Well in this story you will find out what happens when her world comes crashing down and she takes everyone with her in the wrath of destruction, including her best friend. Can she escape unharmed or will the lies and secrets destroy her??
That brings me to her best friend Mackenzie.
Mack also had secrets she kept from everybody, even her best friend.
Mack had always thought her parents didn't pay enough attention to her. She was very smart and always excelled in school. But with her medical condition she always felt she didn't belong and fought demons in her head. That was one secret she kept from her best friend. She hid it well, until one person figured it out and helped her. That person was also a secret from her best friend.
How well do you really know someone? Well with this story you will find out that nobody is who you think think they are. The lies, secrets and jealousy can destroy not only friendships but families. This is a MUST READ! It will keep you guessing until the end , and when you think you have it all figured out, the bombshell of secrets is dropped again.
There are always two sides to every story, Hers -Mine and the TRUTH.

Whoa....WTF....shut the hell up....what?!?!...are you serious?? These are a few of the things that were running through my mind while reading this book. I love M. Robinson and this was my first Jettie Woodruff book and I will say, I was not expecting the story I read or should I say stories.

I would describe this book as a ying and yang of story lines. Mackenzie's story is....wow...like riding a ferris wheel except it never freaking stops. Gianna...I hated her, I wanted to smack her, that is until I read her side. At one point, I wanted to throat punch two imaginary people and then the next, I wanted to hug them and smile and be happy. There was most definitely a lot of gasping, wtf moments. This book made me really re-examine some of the "friends" in my life...lol.

You will get two different stories even though this is one book. Mack's story is crazy and dark, while Gi's story is a little on the lighter end, not so much craziness. However, the whole plot in general is twisted, suspenseful, and there's a bit of taboo. You will not be able to put this book down. The only thing I hated about it, the epilogue, really?? Give me more! I felt like I was left hanging even though Mack & Gi get the closure they both deserved, there was a bit of a bomb shell that was dropped. I would most definitely recommend this book to others!!

Holy Crap... what a total mind fu¢!!!

I knew the powers of "The Queen of Angst" (M Robinson), but I had no clue that she has a sister.
WOW, just WOW. There are so many twists and turns that when you think you have it figured out both authors give you a stinging slap right across the face. There's always multiple versions of the same story... which one will you believe or do they all have a little truth in them???
Happy reading : )

WOW - I don't even know where to start - holy s*** that epilogue just threw me for a loop!!!! Gianna's is the first of the two sides I read and could not be more taken by this story. Skimmed a few of the reviews and it seems a lot of people did not like Gianna after reading Mack's book. I don't feel the same way. I hope after reading Mack's book that doesn't change. I felt for both of the girls in this book. Gianna just wants someone to love her for her and not always feeling like she is in Mack's shadow. There were so many secrets, lies and deceptions in this book, I did not see coming them coming and they had my head spinning and my jaw dropping. I think I sat with my jaw dropped several times!!

Head Games

Gia I hated her . I felt so bad for Mack. I feel all her life her so called best friend wasn't even that. Mack loved her even when there was doubt. Mack did anything Gia wanted even the story that hurt everyone. Mack mental illness was shamed by her own family. Then to find out the truth about her dad and his illness. The fact NO ONE told her about Abby breaks my heart. Kyle was the only one who saw her just like James only saw Gianna. Funny how Best Friends have so many secrets and see the world 2 different way. The puppet master of the down fall holy crap. Yours ,Mine and The Truth.

I really enjoyed reading two sides I fist read shhhh M onica fist story Giana story and then read Macks story both girls went though a lot from a small child and they grew up and distant. Its really awesome how Monica fit both sides of the girls point of view. I really felt bad for Mack because bipolar is a hard sickness for ppl. I am glad Mack was able to pull her self together for her sake and her babies

Two wild and crazy rides...

Intriguing. Such bad parenting. So many wrong moves. So many bad choices. The last secret in the epilogue might have been a little much. This book already had so many layers and dimensions and twists. Regardless of that and thanks to good writing, I was never lost in the multitude of secrets, betrayals, who did what, and which thing happened to what person. I enjoyed both the Kyle/McKenzie and the James/Gianna love component the most.
