Good luck in the year ahead. You're all going to need it. Horrorscopes* will tell you everything you need to know about what will happen to you in the year ahead, and we can reveal now, it's not all good news. In fact, none of it is. The moral? Blame it on the planets - let's face it, Saturn's a bastard.
This hilarious, tongue-in-cheek and detailed weekly guide to next year is interspersed with celebrity readings - find out what will be the hardest challenge David Cameron will face next year (hint: it involves Game of Thrones) and what embarrassing social faux pas will befall Harry Styles - and is packed full of other fun extras, including when to play and not play Monopoly (not June) and those all-important lottery numbers. There's something for member of all signs of the Zodiac and beyond in this rude, witty and bang-up-to-date handbook which is a must-read if you want to know what will happen to you in the year ahead (just don't set your expectations too high).

Read for Summer Reading Challenge 2018 - July ReadsFunny Bone:Read a humorous book.
This was a gift to me from a friend and I am ashamed to say I kept misplacing it through my various moves. However it was timely I found it again when I did as it slots in nicely for this reading challenge.
It was a strange little book to be sure, certainly not to be read for any astrological help. Mostly the "daily/monthly" sign advice were plays on words, puns or followed a weird story about aliens. It think he was a an alien? Hmm.
I actually liked the funny little "psychic" adverts, particularly one who was in the business of revenge. He also included a few funny little bizare side stories revolving around board games... All in all it was a fun little hodgepodge.

Horrorscopes had some laugh out loud moments. It took the traditional set up for an astrological almanac and satirised it in a clever and accurate way. At moments it was repetitive, but then so are horroscopes, but despite that I found myself laughing from beginning to end. It was a distraction, and the great thing was I could read it between doing other things and drag it out as I didn't really have to concentrate on a plot or anything in depth. Sometimes you only have 10 minutes between jobs to pick something up, and this book did the trick. Funny, enjoyable and a pleasant distraction. What more could a girl ask for?
I've always been fascinated with the flaws in personally traits - this a humorous read with what I believe has a lot of truth to it! Not for the faint hearted. You will learn the hard truths of what star sign has to offer oneself.
