Untold Tale

Rate this book
Sheriff Tom Justice does the unthinkable. He agrees to allow a government project to be released in the woods of Rednest, Louisiana, under his jurisdiction. The project, created at Si-Tec Industries as a means of warfare, a perfect killing machine, an animal genetically engineered to kill our enemies, is said to know the difference between civilians and our enemies. However, when civilians go missing in the woods and only pools of blood are left behind, the sheriff is faced with a dilemma. He can cover it all up which he swore to do or he can choose to fight and kill the beast.
When an eleven year old boy is killed on a camping trip with some friends, it leads to the long time Sheriff Justice retiring at the end of his term. Ten years pass, seeing the five boys grow further and further apart but delivering on their childhood pact of one day going back to the lake where their friend had been brutally murdered. Ten years pass before Sheriff Justice realizes that he must put an end to the beast once and for all. Ten years pass before the ex-sheriff and the boys end up back in the woods of Rednest on the same night where their lives had crossed once before on a night that had been impossible to repress.
Their final showdowns will all come before the sun is up. But who will survive the night?

Huge twist at the end. This story definitely had me interested. The government worked on a secret project, unleashing their own animal into the woods. When the first couple of deaths occurred, the Sheriff of the area became tired of having to cover them up. There is way more to this story. This tale has some gruesome parts that left little to the imagination. Definitely another great book by this author.

Good story

This was a very interesting story which kept my attention to the end. I would have rated this a 5 had the editing not been so poor (Kindle version).
