This was a good read - and I loved the way it began! The only real hangup I had was the fact that it was an almost insta-love story, which is confusing given the heroine's background. Additionally, this book is part of a series that features the Spinsters Club in Simpson Creek - but other than a few passing mentions, it wasn't a focus like the previous books.
Unlike most Christian romance novels, this one did not have a focus of forgiveness, but rather trust, in both the Lord and the people who love you. Forgiveness was addressed at the end, and it was a little heavy-handed; I think it could have been presented in a more believable way.
Although this is #9 in the series, each book is a standalone, with small peeks into the previous featured couples. I recommend this story to anyone who likes Christian historical westerns.
