I love how this book opens with James Wolfe arriving at home, only to find a completely strange woman in his bed. Caitlin Moore is on the run from the media and James' brother has let her use the apartment as her hide-out-cave. Waking up to find a stranger staring at her makes her angry.

After some back and forth, James and Caitlin find a way to live together while he's home, and in no time at all they are shacking up for real. As in having incredibly hot sex all the time.

The more they get to know each other, the more James and Caitlin are falling for each other, and before James gets called out for a new mission, they can't live without each other.

This book is fun, sexy, sweet, and even a little bit sad. It's a perfect read for when you want to curl up with a good book. The writing is solid, the plot is good, and the characters are both lovable and believable. This is a true Harlequin Kiss book, and gives you exactly what it promises, a few hours of escape from the real world.

Swooooooon! Aah, it's been a long time since I've been satisfied by a sweet, simple read. Whose Bed Is It Anyway? was anything you'd like for a steamy, romantic novel. Care to believe that the whole time I was reading -from start to finish- I can't help but sigh and feel giddy because James and Caitlin were so perfect.

I received so much more than what I'd expected. The emotions I felt as the characters does when they're sad or happy. The steam they let on when you thought you couldn't get enough. I've never been surprised to read a very delectable novel and I think it's a great way to end my night, and perhaps bring me to a good night's sleep.

Well, I just hope I could rest and to whose bed is it anyway? I wouldn't mind. *wink*

This was a hot read as I've come to expect from this author. Caitlin is on the run from scandal back home in England when her sisters friend George loans her his brothers apartment in Manhattan while the adventurous doctor is off saving the world.

Except that James is home and his apartment is being renovated and only has one bed. So begins what becomes a 'holiday fling' for the pair of them. Heating up the sheets was never so much fun and Caitlin is just what James needs to let his uptight hair down.

The flirty, never stops for a minute James is pretty good for Caitlin too, until real life intrudes.

This is a lighthearted sexy read with some undertones that give depth to the story and provided some very emotional moments at the end. A great read.

Running away from our problems is something all of us do, not always but face it most of us do on a regular basis, you simply cannot deal with it or don't have the energy to face it at that moment and you think running might somehow let you find the solution.

Completely normal, but for us normal everyday people no one will think it strange, it is simply human reaction, but when it is a celebrity the world somehow sees it as wrong and simply unacceptable and unfortunately for the celebrity it makes is also much more worse as the more you hide out the more attention you get.

And when you run from one scandal straight into another and you once again need to contemplate a plan of action to get away from it all, it is a clear sign that the longer you run the more trouble will chase you.

In this read from Natalie Anderson we meet always keep a bad-girl image so no one will know just how fragile you really are Caitlin, she is running from scandals, lies and the mess that is her life. She finds a hideout and is happy to get the chance to ride out the storm only she is awakened by I-am -all-the-hero-you-need James.

James is furious that instead of getting the rest he has been looking forward to after yet another long heroic save the world trip all he is getting is a hot sexy woman sleeping in his bed! But he soon puts his rage away and brings out the nice guy personality he is known for. He shares his space but it is not long before the chemistry between him and Caitlin soars beyond the stars and the start of a holiday fling gets into full swing. The perfect de-stress relieve they both need, that is until the fling is so much more than just sex and the running starts all over again.

The character of Caitlin was brilliantly written and I adored her, she was one of those very real characters that you can relate to and simply immediately know that the words " I do this too" is very appropriate. Her keeping up this image of bad girl simply because she does not want to be hurt was a really strong and valuable element to her character as it showed that everyone no matter who we are, we all hide behind a façade of lies to ensure we survive the battle that is life.

The character of James was simply put, the perfect guy any woman wants to take home to her parents, instant approval! But no hero is ever perfect, deep down there is always a little something that makes them less of a hero and more human. The author did a terrific job at taking the man of steel and breaking him down to being a man.

The backdrop settings and dialogue were hot, hot, hot sexual heat, emotional bliss and pure sexy flirty fun! Am taking away a message of running from life is never the answer.

We need to face our problems head on, but when we are as fragile as can be it is still acceptable to run however, during your period of running make sure that you look deep into your heart as to what you are running from, when you find the answer you will be surprised at just how lame it seems to be running from it, finding the solution is far easier than you think.

Life knocks you down, get up and make the best of it all while keeping a smile on your face, it will break your enemies and infuriate them for they will never figure out the real you, leaving you a chance to live and have fun without a care!

I highly recommend this read for fans of Natalie Anderson books, a sexually charged, fun and entertaining read with a terrific message for us all on the run.

WHOSE BED IS IT ANYWAY? By author Natalie Anderson is a September 2013 release by Harlequin Kiss series.

James Wolfe was a reluctant hero. He was a hero because he went into devastated areas to save people. But he didn’t enjoy the media spotlight in him.

Caitlin also had run away from media scandal. But James’s twin George had loaned her their condo, thinking James was away on his overseas mission. When James came back unexpectedly, he found Caitlin asleep in his bed and his shirt. Utter chaos arise.

But then James found himself helping Caitlin sightsee New York. He was attracted to her. And couldn’t stop himself from being drawn toward him. But what was he hiding? Why was he not visiting his family?

WHOSE BED IS IT ANYWAY? Is a fun and hilarious journey between two media shy characters. Caitlin is a strong heroine. She is forced down on her luck but she came up fighting. The sensuality and chemistry between Caitlin and James is scorching hot.

Natalie Anderson writes emotional and sensual romance and this one is not different.

Highly recommended for all lovers of romance.

What can I say about this quick read by Natalie Anderson? Thank you, Thank you, and Thank you. I loved it. It has just about all the ingredients I love in a romance story. It was funny, sexy, passionate and heart wrenching.

James Wolfe is a physician returning from a rescue mission, when he finds a beautiful woman in his bed. He mistakes her for a call girl “not a good way to start any relationship”. I loved the character of James, he pushed himself for years, not feeling worthy of anything after an accident as a teenager. But the passion he shows Caitlin is just breathtaking. I also loved how he stood up for her with her sister. but that is what days without sleep will do to a person. Exhausted he falls face first into a deep sleep.

I truly fell in love with the character of Caitlin Moore. So misunderstood, and used by others. She grew up as a child actor, something she never wanted to be. So she started acting out and drew the kind of attention no one wishes. Now a paparazzi favorite it doesn’t matter to the media if they print the truth or lies. She spends so much of her time hiding with only a couple of really close friends. When she is offered a chance to escape to New York by a close friend she jumps at it. Expecting to be alone until the media dies down, she never expected Sexy James Wolfe to arrive home.

These two were just so much fun. While James did need to grovel a bit, both in the beginning and the end, the exchanges between them kept the book interesting. The passion was really good, barely coming up for air the first go round. I love a romance book that has humor and this one kept me entertained.

I recommend this book to lovers of romance with some humor thrown in.

Favorite lines:
‘You think you’re irresistible?’ He glanced back from the bathroom door, his thumbs hooked into the waistband of his boxers, that wry-but-wicked smile on his lips. ‘I guess we’re about to find out.’

‘You know that only counts as one, right?’

James comes home from a trip overseas where he is a relief worker to find a strange woman sleeping in his bed. Caitlin Moore is running from herself and her public reputation. the agreement on day 2 to have sex for the duration of their stay in the house /bed together leads to stronger than anticipated feelings and ends in happily ever after. page after page after page of monotonous sex scenes that last 6-10 pages at a time. half way in i regretted starting but i always feel after I have invested hours in a book i must finish it even if awful.

Sucks you in from the beginning as the opening could lead into many different story lines, you soon get to know the characters and can relate to their fears and feelings. A very good quick read with happy ending.

Through no fault of the book's, I didn't enjoy this one quite as well as I might have. Don't get me wrong, the story is well-constucted, surprisingly hot since for some reason I thought this was a kisses only/closed door line (IT ISN'T much to my delight), well-paced and just all around nice. That said, the cover copy used two phrases that made me think this was a different kind of book than it was. First, it calls the heroine a "disgraced celebrity". And she sort of is. But mostly she hasn't done the things the tabloids accused her of. This is annoying to me because it feels like a bait-and-switch. I thought I was getting a real bad girl heroine, but she's a fake bad girl. There are so many good girls in romance that I was hoping this was something different and it wasn't. The other point was the "paparazzi baying down the door". They're really not. They're mostly in the UK and the book takes place in the US. I thought this was going to be a genuine Notting Hill type situation with the beleaguered heroine confined to the apartment, but they go out, tour NYC every day and are generally left alone until the very end of the book. The cover copy promised over-the-top drama that was not present in the book.

So why did I give it four stars? Because it was good! It's not the book's fault that whoever wrote the cover copy oversold the drama. It's not quite low-angst as both hero and heroine are going through some stuff, but it is very low conflict. If you want that with some super steamy sexytimes then this is a solid read. Too bad the Kiss line's marketing was so baffling.

A lot of times, most of the time, we love to run away from our problems rather than to face them. We fear of what might come, so we prefer to lose that way, than to try and fix the problem with the possibility of winning something much better. Everyday we make mistakes and, one way or another, we try our best to evade them. This is a normal human behavior.

We live in a world where people seek the latest fashion scream and celebrity gossip. Whether they are real or not, people will react to them, usually not in the best way when it's bad gossip; it usually is. Caitlin has been out of the spotlight quite a while, but after the disastrous end to her latest relationship, all she wants is to run far away from everyone to someplace where no one will recognize her and be at peace. James Wolfe only wants the comfort of being in his home alone to rest what he hasn't been able to in weeks. Tiring himself with assignment after assignment, he's more than eager for the much needed rest. Only problem is that there seems to be an angel waiting for him in bed. And she's not leaving the place she was promised to stay by James' brother, away from the so dreaded gossip. Between trying to live together, sharing the same bed, they both swirl into a summer fling of what's supposed to be only that, a fling. No emotional entanglements, truth issues, just sex. But not everything goes as expected...

This is the second Harlequin Kiss book I've read, the first one being Waking Up Married. It was a nice kind of read with tons of romance and complicated relationships, so I thought I'd give this book a chance. In that aspect, this book lives to its expectations. Fun, easy romance full of funny moments that'll have you laughing and blushing in the middle of the night. You won't want to put it down once you get a taste of that.

My only problem with this book was the plot and the point of views. While quite interesting and intriguing [plot], I didn't get much of it. The story is narrated in third person, switching from James to Caitlin back and forth. While good because we get to be each others head, there were moments when it became confusing and you didn't know who was who because there was no division to let you know who's head you were in. When it came to romance, the plot was good, like I mentioned before. But I wanted something more than a romance. We are humans, and our lives don't revolve around love even if we want it to. Our lives have all kinds of problems that shapes us as who we are.

And the story had so much potential in developing its plot and sub-plots more.

The author did well when it came to James. We get to know why he does what he does, why he's a hero and his true motives, why he doesn't want a relationship, and why he somehow gets to fall for Caitlin. With Caitlin we have only half of a cake. What happens to her ex? How does she solve the problem? What happens with her dad and sister, whom are to blame as much as Caitlin herself and her ex? All stories have to leave some questions unanswered, true, but these ones I just feel like they HAD to be cleared up. In one hand we have a whole developed character aka James, and the other just half of Caitlin, slowly loading to the speed of the first Window program or computer updates, unfinished. It was like the book ended and Caitlin was Internet Explorer, still not reaching the half of her full potential and goals as a character. And the sub-plots seemed to have Caitlin as her role model.

Once I ended the whole book, I literally felt like my book was missing at least 100 or more pages. Somewhere between 80% into it, before Caitlin and James end up together, I felt like we were going to see more of Caitlin. We had James cleared for most of it, so we only missed Caitlin before a problem happens that makes both realize they feel more for the other and it wasn't just a fling. But no such things happen. Just superficial problem solution: ignore the media. We are handed a message, to face our problems before they end up being more twisted, to live our lives as we want without the obligation to live for someone else. Yes, but what about Caitlin? She doesn't seem to live much to those things. I suppose that the author's goal isn't for the readers to see a heroine in her, explaining why this doesn't happen. Still, having this in mind, I think the book would have been exceptional.

However, if we put that aside for a moment and just focus on the romance, it was good. I liked the story. I laughed a lot and enjoyed it tons.

To clear up, I am not trying to offend the author here, just pointing this out as my opinion on the subject. Natalie Anderson's writing style was also easy and enjoyable to read, so in those little things, she's a good writer and I would still love to read more of her stories, specially when she leaves us with the promise of a happily ever after, but not before it's complications.

If you're searching for a book with steamy romance and passion, sexy male lead character and lots of fun, this is the perfect read for you. Quite a quick one too to read in one sitting.

NOTE: This book contains strong sexual content, and  it's not recommended to be read by people younger than 18 years old. Anyone younger than that, this is left to your discretion.

Too funny! Poor James coming in from an overseas mission, desperately needing sleep, only to find Caitlin Moore, child actress, asleep in his bed. He is not happy. But there are heart-breaking reasons why she had to flee her home with no one to turn to! Great story!

3.5 STARS

I’m always fascinated by movies and books where the home owner comes home and there’s someone who shouldn’t be sleeping in his bed. While there’s always a reasonable explanation and I guess some people are okay with staying in a house where they don’t know the occupant very well or at all, me I don’t even really like staying with relatives or close friends.

However Caitlin Moore doesn’t have much choice given her limited funds and her need to escape her home country. So when her friend George suggests she stay in the condo he and his brother’s co-own in New York she jumps on the chance. Unfortunately George’s twin, James Wolfe arrives home early and finds her there. After he insults her, he falls on the bed and sleeps the deep sleep of someone who’s had very little in the last three weeks. As there are no on other finished rooms in the house what’s a girl to do but try and relax and get some shut eye.

What I found interesting about this book is both Caitlin and James are famous or infamous for very different reasons. They both have reason to be leery yet they form a strange kind of bond early on. At first they decide they aren’t going to give in to their attraction, this is mainly because James knows he’ll be leaving soon and he doesn’t want any messy complications or his brother George upset with him. However, their good intentions go out the window and they find themselves enjoying a holiday fling. In addition James is showing Caitlin New York as inexpensively as he can because she’s too proud to accept anything from him.

I enjoyed the interplay between these two characters and the fact that despite being in very different situations, they seemed to understand each other well. I liked that they could listen to the other’s problems and listen, offer advice, but not judge. I found James to be quite interesting and way nicer than most people would have been especially in the first chapter or two. Caitlyn on the other hand, I didn’t think much of her early on and while I found her less annoying as the book went on I never really liked her.

While I very much enjoyed watching these two figure out their feelings for one another, the ending seemed rushed and there were some issues that went unresolved. As this appears to be the first book in a trilogy, perhaps those unresolved issues will be tackled in the later books. Whose Bed Is It Anyway was entertaining enough to keep me interested and I’m definitely on board for what happens next with James’ brothers.

Whose Bed Is It Anyway? by Natalie Anderson hooked me right from the very beginning. It tells the story of James Wolfe, a doctor from Manhattan who spends most of his time out of the country, helping people in poor countries and taking part in rescue missions. He’s been hailed a hero, but he doesn’t see it that way. He’s just doing his job.

When he arrives home after a mission, focussed on one thing – sleep, he’s not happy to find someone in his bed. Not even when he discovers that the someone is a very attractive woman. After a heated discussion and a misunderstanding, James and his house guest, Caitlin, come to an agreement. They both need the bed, they both need sleep. So they’ll share until they can come up with another solution.

James and Caitlin are reluctant, but muddle through the arrangement out of necessity. James has no intention of leaving his own apartment, and Caitlin is in hiding and doesn’t have the money to go anywhere else. As the two of them get to know one another, things become both easier and harder. Soon, keeping to their respective sides of the bed proves impossible. But they have complicated lives, aren’t looking for a relationship… and yet, they can’t keep their hands off one another. So, deciding to just have a fling while they’re both in New York is the sensible solution. Or is it?

James and Caitlin are great characters. Both feisty and determined, they often clash, but as we’re given more and more of their back stories, things become much more apparent. I very much enjoyed the book – the storyline is interesting, the writing easy to digest and very engaging, the sex hot, and the romance perfectly swoon-worthy. I’ve never read anything by this author before, but I’ll definitely look out for her stuff in future. Recommended for romance fans.

3.5/4 Stars - Hot Steam

Whose Bed is it Anyway is a fun, flirty and ultra spicy romance.

The chemistry between James and Caitlin is rare, intrinsic and enviably perfect. They are carnal soul mates. Their scorching sex is raw, playful, athletic, passionate and devastating. This book is satisfyingly rich with a bounty of this hot couple’s deliciously described erotic encounters.

Caitlin is a genuinely likable heroine. She’s strong, feisty and witty. She’s also a tigress in the bedroom. With James, she allows herself to open up and assert her adventurous, bold and salacious inner vixen.

James is the highlight of the story and should be placed in the fictional boyfriend hall of fame. I am completely in love with him. His words, his actions, his STAMINA! Sigh.... Dr. James is a seriously swoon-worthy and utterly charming sex-pert to love. He is all confidence without ego. He’s cheeky, flirty and endearing. And that man is insatiable! He’s always ravenous and ready for sex. (Lucky Miss Caitlin!)

There is a fine story here too. It’s not just about sex. James and Caitlin get to know one another and even go on some lovely dates. In those scenes, their romance feels delightfully old-fashioned and sweet. (Then, as all proper dates should end, these lovers return to the condo and swiftly unleash the inferno of pent up desires that have been churning and burning inside of them all day long.)

Bottom Line: Whose Bed is it Anyway is a sizzling and entertaining steal of a romance. (It’s only $1.99!)

Caitlin is on the run. The hounds are after her with lies too many to count and they are not looking for the truth. They just want to kick her further while she’s down. She is all but destroyed and trusts no one, most especially her own family.

James is tired. He wants to rest while in between assignments rescuing those in need of help around the world. He certainly did not expect a hot woman in his bed on his very short vacation.

Learning that she is a friend of his brother’s, he reluctantly agrees to share his condo…. and later on, his bed. They agree to expect nothing, demand nothing and tell nothing of what happens between them. But what if that nothing suddenly becomes Everything?

My Review:

Two solid characters plus an interesting plot, this book was pleasant to read. The chemistry between James and Caitlin was explosive. Quick to build, their sex for fun turned relationship was believable in that they had much in common in personality and beliefs though opposites in childhood and family lives. Their characters matched and opposed when and where it mattered.

The writing itself was good though I could have done away with some repetitions specifically Caitlin’s problematic past. James is a winner. A guy’s guy any girl would love to take home to momma.

Overall a fun read for romantics on an otherwise boring day.

Recieved via Goodreads giveaway. Thank you.

This is my first introduction to Mills & Boon stories having always overlooked them as the older ladies read. This is no bodice ripping 1800 drama book. This is one of their new series which is remarketed and named to grab at the modern reader looking for romance/lust & hot passion. It is certainly more daring then the cash register Mills & Boons your grandmother may read.

Overall it is a good book, once you get over the first couple of chapters that didnt pull me in. Once pasted that it steamed ahead, between the sheets, with clothing ripping, sheet messing, lust driven passion.
Although the story was there there could have been more, more then just the sex; there i said it. I wanted storyline with my snogging, groping & humping. call me old fashioned.
The characters were shallow in personality & self important, but those characteristic went with their professions. Along with the need for more story, more character development would have been nice.
Overall i wouldn't recommend to a reader of old fashion romance, but is great for a bit of chick lit. Grab it for a summer read by the pool or a winter sun escape.

Do not read if you blush easily ;)

And another goodreads giveaway win =) I'm becoming a cynical MB reviewer...

I actually won four books that Mills and Boon gaveaway recently on goodreads - the first three I won were all part of a series, so this is the only "stand alone" one. With the other three I'd basically read them in one go, so I tried a different tact with this one and read it on and off for a couple of weeks. I don't know whether it was a change in reading style, or the fact that it being a standalone book meant that it wasn't bogged down in everyone else's back stories, but I think this one was the best of the four I won.

The premise for this book is perhaps the silliest I've come across in a long time - heroine is lent a flat in NYC - only the bedroom has furniture. The owner of the flat turns up unexpectedly, there's only one bed. Oh no, what will they do?!?! Take it for what it is and it's kind of an amusing trott through someone's imagination as to what would happen if stuck in this situation. It was quite sweet really. Although long gone are the polite old days of romance where there was a cup of tea, holding hands and blushing, the end. These switch from snappy, innuendo-laden dialogue to erotica and back again. And if that's what you're in the mood for, it's a nice, light read.

It's Natalie Anderson! What's not to love about this book? It's sassy, modern and deliciously tempting! See what I did there? (It's Mills & Boon Modern Tempted) It's very rare you find a book you enjoy reading word for word but that's what you ALWAYS get with this authors writing!

Caitlin and James story is sexy and addictive! It will stay with you when not reading and will make you wonder what is about to happen next when you pick it up again! With both characters having that deeper back story it makes the book that much more enthralling to read.

You never get the same old thing with Natalie Anderson, her stories are always uniquely different and hold a reader interested until the last page is turned or word read... nothing to do with the macho, sexy, hot leading males! Nopes no way.. it's all in the writing.. ;)

I can't wait for George and Jacks story! But really making me wait till 2014? is not one bit fair! :(

James Wolfe is the poster boy for perfect. Travelling around the world bring medical care to the needy and saving lives has gotten him lots of attention that he doesn’t want from the press. Caitlin Moore is a textbook bad girl. A former childhood actress she wants nothing more than to be out of the limelight. When they’re thrown together unexpectedly, dodging the paparazzi seems almost impossible, but staying apart seems even harder.

This book has a lot of good points, the characters are good, the overall plot is good, but there’s a lot going on. Honestly, there are a ton of elements introduced here that either don’t go anywhere or just flat out aren’t needed. Ultimately, it is held together on the strength of the characters but if you look too closely at the plot you’re going to start seeing the holes.

It’s a quick and entertaining read, but I won’t be looking for the rest of the series. 3 stars.

I was provided with a copy of this book for review.

This was a first read copy received from the publisher.

I had to remind myself that this was a Mills and Boon book, it didn't have the length or depth I would normally read. The description sounded quite amusing, but on reading it, the scenario just felt wrong somehow.

Caitlin is painted as the proverbial bad girl by the press, and whilst it may once have been true, she's innocent and abandoned now. Looking for sanctuary she finds herself in the bed of an angry, tired, miss perceived hero who looks at her and has sex on his mind. Yes, an apartment empty of furniture apart from one bed and she doesn't run?

James does try and woo her a little, but with no PDA allowed outside it's a very odd relationship.

I liked the characters, faults and all, I just didn't quite believe in the story line. It was an entertaining enough light read and got better in the second half.

As has been previously acknowledged, I’ve a bit of a thing for literary men who have returned from war zones. They can be reporters (see Joss Wood’s If You Can’t Stand the Heat) and they can ex-military (see Aimee Carson’s The Unexpected Wedding Guest) – I veritably melt at the mere thought of it.

I blame Sean Bean as Sharpe really. *swoon*

So when James Wolfe – a man who spends his time rescuing children in war zones – comes home to find a woman in his bed, I couldn’t help but wish myself in Caitlin’s place. There is, however, a reason why he spends so much time abroad and their attraction gets place firmly in the ‘dalliance’ category at first because of this...

The highlight of this book was probably the opening scene which was pretty hilarious and I love the whole misunderstanding about what exactly Caitlin was doing in James's bed.

Other enjoyable scenes were the tour of New York and meeting James's family.

Overall, I guess my enjoyment was hindered by the fact I couldn't get my head around the fact any discerning girl would be okay with sharing a bed/apartment with a total stranger just like that.

This the type of fun, flirty, sexy, easy read you expect from the Modern Tempted series.

The story starts off fabulously and there’s an incredible tension between James and Caitlin almost immediately. The backstories are interesting, although I would have liked a bit more info on our female protagonist, giving the book an interesting platform to work from and evolve, which it does at a fairly upbeat pace.

Once you get into the action, the sex scenes are plentiful and the pair scorch off the page, making it one of the racier reads in this series. It’s quick, satisfying and another triumph for Modern Tempted.
