A message from Iron Fist's mystical homeland of K'un-Lun brings Danny back to his blood soaked origin of betrayal and vengeance! Revenge is a weapon that cuts both ways.... Will Danny survive the bloodletting?
Beautiful art and dynamic story by Kaare Andrews. I know Andrews is good but the art on his first issue of Iron Fist just takes the cake. There isn't a dull moment and the movement is just kinetic. He employs different art styles here which helps in the storytelling. For example, his flashback pages are colored so that the reader could easily see that the page wasn't part of the current flow but different.
I am very excited for the next issues, especially since the last page reveals a dragon on the cover.
Iron Fist was always a cool concept to me. This story didn't hook me though. I don't know too much of anything about this incarnation, accept he's a tortured soul. Kaare Kyle Andrews' art is Miller-esque with thick lines and dark tones, but with gangly people in slightly odd forms. Not my favorite.
Extra star for the art. Writing too heavy handed with a strange Danny Rand persona. I'll check out the next issue for the dragon but it needs to be great for me to stick with it.
