What if you had no memory? Not even of being a witch?

Templar Michael Charbon has been watching the young witch for months. Homeless, beautiful, and living in Central Park, she seems to charm everyone she meets. They shower her with kindness, and yet he never witnesses magic. Only when he rescues her from a rapist, does he understand why: Summer has no memory, not even of her real name. Though he barely resists her inexplicable pull on him, he would gladly break his vows to make her his own!

Magus Corps Major Troy Atwater is surprised to hear from Michael. But their long past together puts Michael’s word beyond doubt. Troy collects the beautiful, young witch from the Templar, before her strange attraction drives half of New York wild. A powerful warlock in his own right, Troy manages to veil her seductive appeal, so that he and the coven can help her. But a passionate bond quickly envelopes them that goes far beyond her charms...

For her part, Summer’s head is swimming. With barely a memory, she can hardly comprehend the ancient world of Wiccans and Templars. More than that she finds herself torn between two very different men. But as the extent of her powers reveal themselves and her deadly past returns in painful snippets, she finds that she isn’t meant to choose between Michael or Troy. She must have them both!

Hazel and her husband stopped being separate people years ago. They live their happy life in the always crowded, mostly sunny, and sometimes sweltering city of LA. Though they haven’t managed it yet, plans are afoot to add a kitty to the household, thereby giving the allergist fits.

Hazel has been writing full-time for several years, with some traditionally published work in other genres. But it’s her indie-published romance that fuels the creative fire. It turns out writing isn’t a job, it’s an obsession.

When you can pry Hazel’s fingers from the laptop, you’ll find her: on the elliptical watching a documentary, indulging her audiobook habit, or spending quality time with Candy Crush. Although she’s vegan, she’s a disaster in the kitchen. Luckily, potato chips and pinot noir come ready-made.

What a well-written book. I really love the way Ms. Hunter drawls you into the story. I really could not put the book down; I read it in one sitting, well almost one. This is the story of Summer, a young, beautiful girl who has lost her memory. She is currently homeless, and living in Central Park. Everyone that sees her wants to help her. However, unbeknownst to Summer, she is a Wiccan witch. Moreover, what really sucks, the Templar's hunt Wiccans, well, most do. Michael is a Templar, sworn to hunt Wiccans. Michael has been watching Summer for several weeks, trying to figure her out. Over time, he has begun to feel protective of Summer, Wiccan or not. When a man that has been raping and killing women in Central Park attacks Summer, Michael steps in chases the rapist away, and takes Summer to his home. He realizes Summer is a Wiccan. Knowing that he cannot really help her he calls Troy, a Wiccan warlock that Michael trusts and who trusts Michael in return. Summer learns to trust both men with her safety.
I do not want to say anymore about the story and give any spoilers away. You really need to read the book. Rescued, is the first book in the Silver Wood Coven series by Hazel Hunter. I look forward to reading the rest of the books in this series.
Thank you for reading my review. If you love Paranormal Romance books, this series is for you!

I really like books that I can read in one sitting (I hate them too, but that's another post) and I could do that with this one. It's really well written, though there were a few times that the phrasing kind of pulled me out of the story. That was due to the use of the word "for." Several times, she uses sentences like this: "He couldn’t even condemn her for breaking in, for he’d seen her use a key to access the back door." While technically correct, it's really outdated. Otherwise, the writing was excellent. I didn't really notice any editing or formatting issues--which we all know are big issues for me.

This one really requires a massive amount of suspension of disbelief, especially considering there are several glaring plot holes. All of those holes revolve around the sex compulsion felt by the main characters. But, it's sex... and sometimes strange things happen, so I'm willing to overlook it.

I do have to say, I wondered while reading this if it started as a fan fic or maybe just inspired by The Last Witch Hunter... there are so many things that remind me of that film, but this book was released a few months before that movie hit theaters.

The story is intriguing and keeps you guessing. The characters are well developed and I look forward to seeing how they grow in the rest of the series.

This is the first book in the Silverwood Coven series and the second series that I have read by Hazel Hunter. She is an amazing writer who perfectly combines a great story with steamy scenes.

Summer has been living in Central park alone for months since she woke up bloody and alone in the park. She has no memory of who she is or what happened to her. She has been getting by on the generosity of strangers until one night a strange man comes to her rescue.

Michael has been watching Summer for months. He is an immortal Templar and he has been hunting witches for centuries. He has observed Summer since she showed up in Central park. He believes her to be a witch but he becomes so infatuated with her that he decides to take her to where she will be safe.

Troy and Michael have had a truce since they had to save each other during the Crusades. Michael takes Summer to Troy so she can be safe. Summer is immediately attracted to Troy but can't deny her attraction to Michael as well.

Will Summer remember anything about her past? Will she be able to control her powers that are now coming to light? Will she be able to choose between Michael and Troy or will she have to?

This is a shorter then normal story, I would not consider this a full length novel. It is however a very good paranormal romance novel. I really enjoyed it and its different take on paranormal. This included witches and witch hunters. However the cover is little misleading. With two guys and one gal on the cover you might jump to the conclusion that it is a ménage story. If this story turns into a ménage story that is still left to be seen. It is however about tow men who should be enemies that work together to help a young women Summer who has lost her memory and has no clue she is a witch. It a good starting point, but since it leaves you with a cliff hanger I was left wanting more. But for FREE, how can I complain (too much).

I did not enjoy this nearly as much as I thought I would. It was shorter then I expected and there were a ton of character to keep track of. I also was not a fan of how the sex scenes were written. It might work well for some, but didn't for me. It ends on a cliffhanger which is a little irritating as well.

I really liked the concept of this book. Witches, witch-hunters, girl in danger who can't remember anything and two sexy hunks to come to the rescue. It works! Unfortunately it's just too short. This is not a full book and that seems to be the case for the rest of the series. I may have to call it quits here. I'm sad but I hate half novels.

HOT!HOT!

When Summer wakes up in the park she never thought her life would take this turn. Who would want to be with someone who couldn't remember her past and made the flowers come back to life? Will she ever figure out what happened to her. If Troy and his family have anything to say about it then yes. However when Michael comes back into the picture she isn't so sure....

I recommend buying books 1-5 box set. $6.99 on Amazon.

IMO, it was a good idea for a series but it is too short which did not allow for enough world or character building. I am stopping the series at 5 since it would be cost at least another $10-12 (no other box sets available) to continue without enough word count to help develop the story.

This was ok. A witch with no memory of who or what she is, rescued by a Templar who doesn't believe in the blind hatred toward the magic community, so he calls his magical friend to take the witch to safety. I thought the idea was god, the writing was fine...it just didn't make me want to buy the next book immediately.

Templar vs Wiccans

What would you do if you woke up with no memory of who or what you are? What if you were rescued by Templar that claims you are Wiccan? What if the Wiccans see you as a threat being used by the Templars? Where would you turn, no memory, no anything other than more questions with no answers!

Excellent beginning to a new series !! Summer, Michael and Troy are going to change the way people think of magic and magic users. Summer is gentle and kind, everythink magic users aren't supposed to be , can Troy and Michael save her from the Templars ? Tead it and find out !! 4⭐'s !!

This is more like part 1 than book 1. It introduces all the main characters & then ends. Seems like it could be a good story but language doesn't really flow for the first few chapters so nearly gave up reading before it improved

Witches and Templars sworn enemies.

This story shows the Templars to be plotting to kill all the witches but it does not come to pass in this book, the first of a series. A very powerful witch who has lost her memory but still has flashes of the past. I liked it.

Summer

I was drawn into Summer's story from the beginning. Having amnesia, not knowing anything about her life. Finding out things about herself. Awesome!

ANOTHER GREAT HAZEL HUNTER STORY !!!!
I WAS GIVEN THIS BOOK FOR AN HONEST REVIEW ........ OVER 18 + READING
Summer wakes up in the park(choose name because of when she woke up) with no memory of her past. She lives in the park not knowing where to go or what to do. Templar Michael Charbon hes watched her for months, he has watched that people are happy to help her, give her things even when she says she doesn't need it, she has found it is better to just say thank you. But he has never seen her use magic to get them to give her stuff. Then he is told to turn her over to his bosses,he knows she would be tortured because her lose of memory she can't answer their questions and he has not been able to find out why she can't remember even her real name. He calls Magus Corps Major Troy Atwater to tell him about Summer because she is a witch(she just doesn't know it), tells him of her danger and he meets him to take her. Each has tried to care for her in his way (beyond what they should do by their rules, though Troy has many less rules), both want her and she finds that she wants both but feels Michael gave her to Troy and never contacted her again. This wonderful story gives you so much to enjoy as watch her work on her memory, start finding out what she knows and what she needs to learn. Troy helps her with this as she learns to be a(witch) Wiccan and control her very strong powers, she doesn't even know she has. Though Magus Corps and Templars do not usually help each other, Troy and Michael as men care for Summer and want her well and safe no matter what it takes. You get to see how these three face what they want, what they have been told they should do, what is best for someone they love even if that hurts them. And I can't wait for it to continue.

Didn't like the ending

I realize that this is a series of books, but it could have had a better ending for those of us who can't afford the second book. I don't know if I will read anything more by this author as I don't like cliff hangers for endings.

Rescued is the first book in the Silver Wood Coven series and is a short read. This book ends in a cliffhanger and is not meant to be read as a stand alone. Hot and steamy so definitely 18+. I was immediately drawn into the characters and storyline and read this straight through.

The three main characters in this book are Michael, Summer, and Troy. Michael is a Templar Knight and has been observing Summer in Central Park to determine her fate. Summer has been living in Central Park for the past three months when she woke up there with no memory. When Michael saves her from being raped, he learns her story and decides he can't hand her over to the Templars to be tortured and killed. Instead he calls Troy, a Warlock, to help her.

Troy takes her up to the Silver Wood Coven which is headed up by his father. Troy has been away from home for years, ever since he left to join the Magus Corp. So of course there is some family drama with his return. His father allows them to remain and the coven try to determine how and why Summer has been cursed and has no memory. Summer and Troy can't keep away from each other, and Michael is also drawn into the relationship even though he isn't physically there.

Summer has moments when she remembers things but they cause her physical pain. The Templars learn that Summer knows where an ancient book is. They want control of the book and task Michael with finding her and bringing her to them.

I really enjoyed this book and look forward to reading the other books in the series.

I received a free copy from the author.

Summer wakes up to find herself in a park. Along with flowers blooming off season, anyone she encounters tries to help her. Summer has no memory of who she is nor how she got to the park. She picked the name Summer, following a comment made by a stranger.

Summer has been watched by a witch hunter, Michael Charbon, who suspects she is a witch. During one of his observations, he ends up playing hero to ward off a potentional rapist, then takes Summer back to his place. It's not safe for Summer to stay with him; Michael contacts Troy Atwater, a Warlock, who collects Summer, to bring her to the coven and with help try to figure out Summer's true identity.

Accidentally, Summer comes to learn of a few of her special talents, which are done without intention. One talent, that came with a vision allowed her to save two lives, but she needs to discover how she was able to do what she did.

This was a quick read. Love the mystery surrounding Summer, and the paranormal aspects. This series has explicit language and detailed scenes, which I often skip past.
