HAMISH

I was born to an alcoholic mother and alcoholic, drug dealing father. Not a good start to life for a young boy. I was born to sin.
I've lied, cheated, assaulted, been an adulterer and stolen. It's how one survives the 'hood'. I have a reputation for being the 'bad boy', the fuck 'em and leave 'em type. I have never spent the night with a woman and I have never brought a woman home. We 'play' at her place and as soon as I'm done, I leave.
After fleeing my home at the age of thirteen and living on the streets - an option I found better than being with my parents, my life is turned around by an elderly lady.
I educate myself, become an award winning chef and return to the 'hood where I rent an apartment. I love and care about no-one and nothing except my Harley Motorcycle. It's here I met Jonesy and he takes my life in a whole new direction. Along with Wade, a fellow chef and the only person I can trust, the pair teach me how to love. Not only myself, but others.

BLOSSOM

I'm a wealthy Restaurateur thanks to an inheritance I received when my father passed.
I live in a penthouse apartment in the 'rich' part of the city.
Being pampered and spoiled all my life has turned me into a woman who sees something she wants and, like a dog with a bone, I won't let go until it's mine. I'm a winner. I ALWAYS win.
I don't have relationships with men. One night stands suit me just fine. I can't trust it's me they want and not my money.
I meet Hamish by chance when I'm on the hunt for a new Head Chef. He treats me like I'm not worth a second thought. I've never been treated this way and I decide at that moment, I will make Hamish mine.

Hamish has no interest in the pampered Blossom but for some reason she gets under his skin.
Then, something happens that makes him realize, he has fallen in love. Will it be too late? Will tragedy strike before he can hold her in his arms and confess his true feelings?

I write Hot Contemporary Romance, M/M, Menage, BDSM and Shapeshifter under my pen name - A.L. Simpson.

I have panty melting m/f romance and c*** hardening m/m romance where they always experience adversity but eventually find their way to each other.

The lovin' is HOT and not for the faint hearted. I have a story where the men's coming together in Greece is actually true but we threw in some gun running, murder and drugs to make things a whole lot more interesting. (Destined to Shatter)

In my menage, a m/m/f the heroine refused to stay around so she dies a gut wrenching death leaving the men to cope with a new-born babe. Life got a whole lot more interesting for them. (Diamond Rainbow.)

My shapeshifter takes the form of an Eagle and is out to save the heroine from a drug cartel deep in the forest of South America. (When Eagles Soar)

The Born Series covers social issues and what it's like to be raised in an unsavory area. I explore the mindset of never being good enough.

The Broken Series has Broken Bastard out and Broken Bitch coming soon. These books are about people who are pushed until they break. Book 1 is a m/m. Book 2 is an MC and hopefully will be out late 2017 or early 2018.

Other books on offer have a mistreated, disfigured heroine, a strange cult, a disbabled friend and so much more.

Hamish the main character in this book has got to be the most perfect creation of man for the month of February in 'bookdom' if not maybe 2016.His face alone induces orgasms. His only flaw is that he does not truly know how to make love to a woman,he only knows how to f%@k & it takes his gay best friend Wade to show him how to do the filthy with finesse. And how he begins to show this straight god is the stuff of legends.I think it's truly ingenuous of the author to give him a tutor who is male to show him how to truly love another human being.

And than we have Blossom. You just got to love a woman that keeps 3 vibes on her side table, all fully charged of course in case of power outage. She is the perfect dirty match for Hamish.

And finally Wade needs a book pronto & a lover as sinful as Hamish.

This cover alone deserves 5 stars!

I was given an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

What an awesome debut book by this author, I think I have book hangover now.
It was so easy to read and kept me glued to my kindle the whole way to the end.
Hamish the bad boy from the hood and Blossom the rich girl have a great connection. The chemistry sizzles between them. He feels because of his background, that he's not good enough for her but she's having none of that talk. I loved their banter and the interaction with the small boy who becomes Hamish's responsibility. Little Steve is the turning point for Hamish's journey to get on the right track.
The story was not just a sweet romance, there was drama and action behind the scenes making me race through the pages.
I loved their HEA and highly recommend this book to all lovers of love.

As a debut book this is a winner. A warning from the outset it contains a LOT of adult scenes so is not suitable for under 18’s.

Basically we have two lead characters .. Hamish, the arrogant bad boy from the wrong side of town. He comes from a dysfunctional family and has had to live by his wits. He has worked hard to educate and better himself and works as a chef but he is entirely incapable of love or trust.

Blossom, little miss rich girl who has used her inheritance to buy a bunch of restaurants. When she realises what Hamish is like she makes it her mission to own ‘his’ restaurant. They immediately spark off each other and the chemistry sizzles when they aren’t insulting each other.

Hamish, does have a softer side though and this becomes apparent with the arrival of Steve .. a little kid whose drug addict mother neglects him so Hamish steps up. Will he ever be able to love and feel worthy .. his best friend Wade has a large part to play in that outcome! Just one look at the cover shows you what awesome eye-candy Hamish is and he certainly lives up to his image.

Good story, not for the faint hearted, enough interest to keep the pages turning and I really enjoyed it. The only slight criticism is the amount of times we are reminded Hamish is from the ‘hood!! It may just be an Americanism but it grated on my nerves and for that reason I couldn’t rate it higher. But all in all a great read which if you have enough spare time is one that will keep you absorbed in one sitting! I look forward to the next in the series.
Thanks to the author and Reading Addiction Book Tours for the opportunity to read this in exchange for my honest opinion.

This is my first book by this author and the description drew me in. I love the idea of how the hero ended up on the streets but made a major comeback. Also I've never read a book where the hero was a chef!! So I really wanted to read this book.

Hamish may have been confusing but I found that I loved his heart. I won't spoil but he does so pretty amazing things. He may be this big bad boy, but deep down, he's sensitive, and my heart shattered for him! He really just didn't seem to know him self as much as I thought he would.

Blsoom was a spoiled brat. Some of her internal dialogue was frustrating "Chanel this and Gucci that" but I found my self liking her a lot. When they finally come together I feel like we see a different side to her come out. I can't say that I loved her, but I did like her.

There were a few scenes that I couldn't understand why they were in the book. Personally they didn't seem to benefit the plot. Yes, we get a different look in Hamish head, but that's all they did. If anything they confused me and made me mad.

This plot was fun, I like how the characters were so different. There's one secondary character in the story that I really enjoyed and was the best part of this book, but I won't spoil it.

Overall, I really wanted to love this story, and maybe it was just me, a lot of people seem to love it, but it frustrated me more then I enjoyed it. That being said, I did like the characters to an extent, and I found the plot fascinating. It was the execution and addition of certain things that drove me to not loving it. 3 stars #2OCCJD

This book has a little bit of everything. There's excitement, drama, love, hot scenes and happily ever afters.

Hamish has had a tough life. A rough childhood has left him feeling like the bad boy from the rough side of town, undeserving of love and unworthy of others attentions. His friendship with Wade starts to change his view on himself, opening his heart.
When Hamish meets Blossom their first meeting isn't exactly love at first sight but does ignite a volatile fire. Can the bad boy learn to love and be loved? Can the rich girl who always gets gets her way learn to compromise? You'll have to take this wild ride of a story to find out. :)

I loved this book from start to finish. The tender moments had me close to tears and the drama was compelling.

Kudos to A.L. Simpson for writing a book that will have you hooked. Be Fore Warned that on the second page Simpson leaves a warning that this book is a little graphic. There is a M/M scene (Male on Male) so if this is not your cup of tea stray away.

I have a tendency to purchase books not judging the cover and not reading the description. I like to dig in and see if the story with capture my attention. BORN TO SIN did just that. It didn't drag or take too long to get to the heart of the story. It was well written and although you may find the M/M scene uncomfortable at first you soon forget the gender of the characters or better yet ignore and just focus on the story. It may seem like an unimportant scene but it plays a important part to the story. You can't help but to fall in love with the main character.

I am in love with Hamish! He has become my new book boyfriend! I licked him so that makes him mine right?
This story had me in so many different emotions. Sometimes when reading I actually pictured my own husband who grew up in the "hood". I married my own real life bad boy "Hamish".
A.L kept me guessing. She also made those scenes with Blossom HOT.
This was my first read for 2016 and I know I will be reading it again and again! This will be my " I have nothing to read and I want something sweet, hot, sexy and wonderful" to read again book.
For a first book I definitely loved it. Well done A.L

Holy Hamish this book was Hawt! We have a love'm and leave'n guy named Hamish who doesn't believe he is worth much in this world until his friend Wade shows him. When Blossom comes into the picture who is a good girl from the right side of the tracks but has never used the wealth in that way. When Hamish and Blossom finally come together will this be a life altering experience. When Hamish shows a little boy named Steve how life is supposed to be. This book will show you how life isn't always fair to some and how you can be brought down and how some can rise like a Phoenix from the ashes to make life a happy one.

What A Fantastic Book And I Really Can't Believe It's A Debut To Boot. I Loved This Unique Story And The Way This Was Written Was Really Good And I Completely Enjoyed The Whole Thing.

This Gritty, Brutal And Broken Love Story Isn't  The Hearts And Flowers Kind. It Gets Interesting When It Takes Another Man To Show Hamish How To Love Someone Was A Genius Move On AJ Simpsons Part. The MM Scene Was Hot As Hell And The Chemistry Running Through This Book Was Off The Chart.

I Feel The Whole Book Worked Because of The Supporting Cast And I Hope They All Get A Book Of Their Own. I Really Really Enjoyed This Book And I Recommend It.

Wow, I loved this book. This is a fast paced passionate, steamy, erotic romance.
Hamish and Blossom are total opposites, but the chemistry between them is scorching. Loved the secondary characters as well, and the banter was humorous.
I highly recommend this authors work, and she will certainly be on my favourites and 1-click list. I am looking forward to reading more of this author’s work in the future.

Born To Sin, book 1 in AL Simpson's Born Series, is one of those books that pulls you in and will leave up reading late into the night.

It is raw, real and gritty, as it follows chef Hamish as he finds true love and creates a family. Hamish was a boy of the streets, who grew up stealing in order to find food.

Now, as a successful chef, he takes care of Jonesy, who's mom doesn't feed him, or care for him in any way. Jonesy has become his life, as he is devoted to taking care of this young boy as best he can.

Then he meets Blossom, a rich restaurant owner who wants to poach him. He is not interested, as he's ultra loyal to his boss, but he can't dismiss her looks.

What follows is a mesmerizing story a different kinds of love.

Hamish and Wade made me tear up with their strong bond, complete trust of one another, and the amazing gift which Wade grants to Hamish.

Hamish and Jonesy also make me cry, as without each other, both their lives would not be the same. Their love for each other enriches both of their lives, and forever changes their paths. And I have to admit to smiling like a damn fool as Stevie (Jonesy's new name) is shown a new life and experiences things for the first time. This part is sweet, eye-opening, and refreshing!

Hamish and Blossom, two people who come from such different worlds, are wonderful together. They have so much to offer each other, and they are forever changed upon opening their hearts.

And then there's the gritty, tough subject matters - the toughness of the streets, the continued feelings of unworthiness that develops after growing up the streets, theft, attempted murder, and more.

Born To Sin will leave you feeling complete and satisfied. It has a wonderful happy ever after ending, after some tough scenes and some angst. And now I have to dive into the next book in the series! Thank you AL Simpson for this amazing book!

Born to Sin, is the story of two people who are complete opposites, the only thing they have in common is how they run there sex lives.
A raw, gritty read which is both realistic and believable.
Simpson incorporate’s a fantastic story line that at times threw in a few surprises, it’s full of heartbreak, drama and romance the emotions just fall from the pages.
It’s hard to believe that this is A.L. Simpson’s debut novel, the character development throughout the story was gradual, which made the story become more real, and the backstories where well developed and although Hamish’s past broke my heart, it was beautiful to see how far he had come.
For me, this is Hamish’s story!
A fantastic read, I can’t wait for more from this author.

I loved the idea of this story and the idea of someone from the street who turned themselves around to become a caring and loving man.
I really enjoyed Hamish and found that he had a really loving heart. It was obvious with the way he looks after people that he cares about.
Blossom I enjoyed the way that was a feisty female character that didn't let anyone treat her badly or tell her what to do.
I enjoyed the two of them together and wish that we could have seen more of them together.
There was a lot of steamy moments within the book that were of the charts.

The most beautiful part of the story is Hamish.

Hamish Masters is the gifted head chef at one of the best restaurants in town, who has worked hard and has been taken under the wing of Wade, one of his tutors, and now Hamish’s second chef. His life has been difficult. He dragged himself up, parented by people who were too drunk, or too busy dealing drugs to notice his presence. In turn, he has taken seven year old Jonesy under his wing – the only food he gets, is what Hamish feeds him after each shift at the best restaurant in town.

Blossom Cartwright has created an empire of restaurants all over the country, thanks to her Daddy’s inheritance, and every one of them is Michelin starred, except for the one in the town she lives in. She’s heard that the best restaurant is town has the most talented chef, she’s tasted his food, and she wants him – in her kitchen, and in her bed. No one has ever said no to her, and she’s bought the restaurant to get him.

Hamish knows he is an attractive man, and he also knows it is on the inside that he is bad, through and through. He also has someone who has been on his side for years, and that someone wants to teach him how to love, and to know that he is also worth loving in return.

"A light in my head flashes on. “You’re teaching me to love.” “Yes, darling. I want you to make love when you meet the right woman, not f***. I want you to know what it’s like to be loved so you can give love.”

It is crushing to read Hamish’s internal dialogue with his self-hate, when we also see that he loves Jonesy, and would do anything for him, afterall, he’s been there himself. He’s also as intensely attracted to Blossom as she is to him, but he knows that eventually she’s going to realise that he’s just gutter trash from the ‘hood and can definitely do better than him.

Born To Sin is about realising your self worth and knowing that where you’re born and raised, doesn’t necessarily define the person that you eventually fight to become. While I totally loved this story, and the absolutely positive message throughout the book, I have to admit to struggling a little with the sex talk during those particular scenes. Yeah I know Hamish is from the ‘hood and I should get over myself, but, there it is. I read this book through the Quirky Blind Date reader’s group. 4 Stars.

This is a great book, if you are looking for exciting, gritty, real and hot romance. This isn’t a buy her flowers and chocolates type of romance. It is brutal, broken and struggling to mend all the gaps.

We join our main characters at a point in their lives when they are trying to move forward, make something of their life that they want and will be proud of. When their lives collide there is a great sense of being underwhelmed. It’s just another escapade for our leading man. He’ll do what he always does and then leave her hanging, but this time is different, and it makes him mad.

Our lead man has dealt with all the loss, pain and less than adequate parents, but he hits a spot of luck and has the opportunity to turn things around. However, though he becomes trained in a skill he loves, he is hardened against the world, especially other people. If he doesn’t truly let anyone in, no one can hurt him. No one can ruin him. Except her.

We follow along as the two deal with the unexpected attraction. They wind each other up more than a little, and for some reason they continue to return for more.

I liked the passion and fire that you could feel between the two. It was more than palpable and it really made it easy to fall right into this read and really feel the intensity of their lust. With the heat came a steamy coupling that was unbelievably irresistible.

I found the author wrote some exceptional moments, throughout this read. It is a fantastic first book. I see a lot of 4 and 5 star reviews in the author’s future, both for this book and future works. I highly recommend.

This was a gritty romance that shows you how hard life can be and that you have the strength to change your future. Yes it's a poor boy falls for rich girl with some originality and uniqueness that makes it stand out. I did find this book hard to get into at first and it did turn me off each time I read that Hamish was from the hood. That being said the overall plot was well planned and I do like the writing style. I did enjoy the chemistry between the two characters and the journey the book takes you as their relationship progresses. I also loved the secondary characters they added another layer to the story. The ending was perfect and overall I would recommend this to anyone looking for a new author. I am interested to see what this author comes up with next.

Born To Sin is the first book in the Born series. This book is about Hamish, the bad boy made good who came from the ‘hood and in fact still lives there. This book is also about Blossom, the young rich woman who due to her inheritance from her father created a restaurant empire that is very successful, except in her home town. Blossom goes looking for a new chef for her restaurant and finds gorgeous bad boy Hamish, who she wants for her restaurant and maybe also for her bed. Hamish is known for being the love them and leave them type, in fact the book opens with Hamish and his girlfriend having sex and then after she wants him to stay the night. He tells her that she should know by now he doesn’t do long term and he doesn’t stay over. She gets insistent and he breaks up with her. Then Hamish goes to work, and Wade talks him into coming to his house for a two day interlude. In the meantime Blossom is plotting her next move with Hamish.

This book is good. WARNING: The book starts over with very graphic sex scenes which continue throughout the book, and of course there is also mature language. This is for 18+ readers. The characters seem to come alive very quickly. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a lot of sex with their storyline, but there is some m/m scenes as make sure you are not surprised when that crops up. This is a great story for anyone who loves their bad boy makes good.

I’m giving this book 4 hearts

description

This was spot on for a debut novel! A man from the 'hood and a wealthy owner of a restaurant chain. Hamish had a horrible childhood and raised himself on the street from the age of 13. He didn't feel he was good enough for anyone. No relationships, no love. Only sex. He loves and respects two people. One his best friend and mentor, and the other his seven year old neighbor who reminds him of himself. I admired the man Hamish became given his background. He went to school for cooking and met Wade, who became his mentor and best friend. He just needed to get past not feeling good enough for anyone or even himself. He was so strong and resilient and when he loved it was with all he had.

Blossom lost her mom at a very early age. She was raised by her father but he was an older man and she lost him when she was eighteen. Left with his fortune she opens a chain of restaurants. She needs a new head chef and offers Hamish a job. He's not happy about it because he's very loyal. It's not a great start for their relationship. They're both very hot tempered and strong headed. They're also both about to fond out that sometimes a few nights is not enough. This had the perfect mix of hot steamy sex, including a m/m scene, drama and love. It was well written and you were able to get to know the characters throughout the book. We were introduced to the supporting characters, some of whom will be getting their own books well. I'll look forward to reading their stories also!

This book was very interesting, it was different to what I am use to reading. But I gave it a go and thoroughly enjoyed it.

Hamish believes he isn't worth it, and grew up thinking that way. He doesn't believe in relationships and doesn't believe he can be loved. Wade helps him believe in himself. He is also loyal.

Blossom is a strong independent woman, who is a hard worker and gets what she wants. She also doesn't look down on people.

I loved all the side characters of the story too. Especially Wade and Steve.

I have not read this author before to which I found their writing style and story to be very intriguing. The main male character has had a very dark and difficult childhood but he has strived to make the most of his life. I found him to be a very interesting character with lots of depth. I enjoy the little boy’s character and the love he had for Hamish. There is some M/M romance in this book but the ultimate story is an F/M romance, so some readers may have an issue with this but the context of this story it does play a pivotal part of Hamish’s adult life. So if you have not read an M/M genre before this might just be the story that will ease you into reading something different, but if it’s not your thing then I would pass on this book. I have only read one other male romance before this one and must same I found these scene’s quite nice to read. I received an ARC copy of this book for my voluntary honest review.

Hamish will shred your tears in a very good way

Gosh! I never cried so many times when I am reading a book. Hamish did that to me. This guy is beyond hunk. He can melt in your mouth by his cooking. Most of all, he has a big heart. I never read a book that a male character made me cry. I seldom cry but this book is beyond amazing.

This bad boy grew up in ways you cannot imagine. He is willing to sacrifice his life for this special kid. You have to read it to find out. He is one of a kind. I LOVED this guy. He also ride a motorcycle if you are a fan. He can zoom right to your heart.

He met Blossom a woman who is exactly his match. She does not like commitment. She also owns the restaurant that Hamish works. Their attraction is undeniable. Both dominant in each way.

This book is very hot, full of passion, emotional and at the same an amazing book to read.

I love reading stories from a new author because that way I get to see what their writing style will be like and the fact that this is their first book makes it all the more special.
Hamish was the guy that had a rough life growing up and he never really knew what love was. This was a interesting book if I must say and there was never a dull moment to be had. I loved the way that Hamish and Wade were and the relationship that they shared and because of that relationship he was able to love Blossom. Blossom was a person in her own category and that is what made you love and hate her. Steve was a perfect addition to the story and it was good to see the way that him and Hamish were together. I can't wait to read the next book in this series cause I have to know how Wade is going to fair out.

What a fantastic book! This is my fist time reading anything by this author, and oh my what a way to start a series. A gritty and sexy read with awesome character that are both realistic and believable. Hamish is my new book boyfriend..
Born on the wrong side of the tracks so to speak, he had a hard start to life, which left him jaded and unworthy. With the help of his gay best friend, Hamish finds out there's more to life then one night stands and that if he believes in himself he can learn to love.
No spoilers
I would recommend this book to my friends and fans of romance/ erotica
