I'm hoping that some of the options and suggestions in this book will prove beneficial to us, especially my husband who has had an adverse reaction to every cholesterol-lowering drug on the market. This book has three parts:

This was an easy to read, easy to understand book. Although doctors won't just do lipid panels 30 days apart, I had one done in November 2018 whereas I found out my numbers were a bit high and another one in November of 2019 to find that my numbers decreased substantually. In fact, my total cholesterol went down 30 points! I will definitely continue using what I learned and look for all of my numbers to be within normal range by February 2019.
My cholesterol is a little high so I thought I'd educate myself and got out about 3 or 4 books from the library. This is the first I've read. I learned about antioxidants (good), free radicals (bad), flavenoids (good). I also got questions answered on vitamins and supplements I have heard might be helpful taking to help for high cholesterol. I was particularly curious about Coenzyme Q10 and fish oil. Co Q10 doesn't exactly lower cholesterol but it is healthy for the heart and I might start taking it. Lower doses of fish oil are good for the heart but higher doses help with raising your good cholesterol so I think the fish oil is a winner.
So, good book information about cholesterol, for knowledge about different foods and their impact on cholesterol and the heart. Probably a good book for reference too. You might want to pick this one up. Worth reading, and again and referring back to.
