The Vixen and the Vet
Originally read June 2014

A few weeks back I wrote a review on Goodreads for another book in the form of a letter. Katy read the review and told me that I should make that my review style. So, this is for you Katy.
Dear Katy,
I’m sure you won’t be surprised when I tell you that The Vixen and the Vet has become my very favorite of your books so far. Mostly because I say that with each new book you publish. It’s with great confidence and complete honesty that I tell you that you have quickly become one of the very few authors that I will one-click each and every book that you write, without requiring any previous information/knowledge of it. Every story you write is infused with the type of details that don’t just make me fall in love with fictional characters, but put me right smack dab in the middle of the city/town where they live. Their neighbors become my neighbors, their friends are my friends, their families are my families. I become a Virginia local, a Montana native, a reporter, a musician, an author. I’m not just reading a story, I’m becoming a part of a story.
This story holds a particularly special meaning to me as an Army Spouse. I’m always a little leery to read a military themed story in fear of being disappointed that it’s done badly or scared that it will be done too well. You, Miss Katy, have done this subject just right. You gave me all of the feels while reading Savannah and Asher’s story.
I laughed.
“This wasn’t about toothpicks. It was about bionic hands.”
“You kids and your electronics.”

“Can’t ride two horses with one ass, honey. Try it and you’ll get hurt.”

“Women. Can’t live with them. Bad idea to kill them though.”

No seriously I almost pee’d my pants when I read those lines.
I swooned.
“This isn’t the sort of love that ends,” he said softly. “It’s forever. It doesn’t matter if you go to Phoenix and I stay here for a while. We’ll find each other again. Do you know that Savannah Carmichael?”

“You stayed alive, Asher. I think maybe you stayed alive for me.”

I, well, we’ll just say that I blushed.

I cried.
And then she knew, she realized in startling, terrifying detail, that Asher Lee had no one to come home to. After years away from Danvers, there was no one left to welcome him home. No loving parents. No friends.”

Something inside him was starting to hurt, and it felt strangely like it had during those first few months in San Antonio when he had to decide whether to live or die. And for a moment, when he looked at the situation and realized it was possible this entire beautiful relationship had been an act on her part, he WANTED to die.

Mostly, I fell in love. I fell in love with this story of tragedy turned amazing love story, with a hero forgotten and dismissed by the very people he swore to defend and protect and with the woman who would show them all the error of their ways. I fell in love with love, and with hope, with honesty, and with forgiveness.
I fell in love with YOU Katy Regnery and the way that you wrote this story. I fell in love with you because you’re giving back to someone else who might have been forgotten or dismissed.
With great love and appreciation,
Jaime, wife of soon to be medically retired, 4 time deployed, Bronze Star w/Valor recipient SFC Charles Collins, US Army Infantry (2000-2014)

Never Let You Go
Originally Read June 2015

This book was so different from anything else that Katy has written, except for the fact that the it's the purest kind of romance that I've come to expect from her.

This book gutted me and then it slowly built me right back up, only to be knocked right back again. Fear not HEA lovers, it all comes back around in the best kind of way. Proving that real, true love built on honesty, strength and hope endures all.

Griselda is the epitome of strength and perseverance. Other than punishing herself by staying with Jonah to make up for what she felt she did wrong in the past, she never gave up fighting, if not for herself then for Holden. Despite everything she's been through in the past her one focus always remained to find Holden again.

Holden is everything you'd expect in a broken man who has gone through everything he's has. First losing his family as a young child and then losing the only person he ever thought he could have a family with, it's not surprising how he chooses to live his adult life. Fighting lets him get out his anger and it's empowering to know that this time, he's in charge of the outcome. Sleeping around with nameless faces lets him try to forget what he's lost and to pretend that instead it's her underneath him. On the outside Holden seems like a bit of a jerk who cares about nobody and nothing but on the inside he's still just a lost teenager trying to find his way.

Separately Gris and Holden are broken and battered with only memories to help them get by. Together they are complete. But complete doesn't mean their life together is perfect. When they finally find each again, the reunion is perfect. The emotions you'll feel when they reconnect are truly powerful, but at the same time, everything isn't just magically perfect. It's an emotional and happy moment but it's also a bit awkward and heartbreaking. Left alone in their own world for a few weeks their love comes back full force but slowly and safely. It's only when they finally seemed to find their bearings that life decides to test them again.

Once again Gris and Holden are being torn apart but this time they have choices and decisions to make. Gris continues to be he strong one making the decision that feels right for Holden. Meanwhile Holden becomes the driven and focused one, following Gris' lead he lets her go but with full intentions of fighting his way back to her.

Stumbling block after stumbling block Gris and Holden hold onto the fact that they always find each other again because their love is that strong and special. Even apart the thought of the other helps each of hem grow into the people they want to be for each other.

There are so many symbols in this book that connect them together and you'll feel so connected to them that, if you're like me, you'll find yourself repeating their words of encouragement to each other.

Their journey is long and emotional. A love so powerful you'll find yourself holding on to the letters right along with them. This story even has some things that I hate in a romance but to be true to their story those things are exactly what needed to happen to complete their story and to make this exactly what a romance is supposed to be.

Staying true to her tag line, this book is a little bit heat, a little bit sweet with a whole lot of HEA, but this time there is also a little bit of darkness and angst done well. Katy Regnery never disappoints and I can't wait to see her modern take on fairy tales.

The Vixen and the Vet
It was really fun and cute this modern fairytale.
Our beauty is a reporter and she recently fired so she went home to heal. Our beast is a vet whos body damaged by a bomb explosion and the town not welcomed him when he returned.
This book is their Beauty and the Beast fairytale :) It was so interesting to read this and at the same time make parallel thougths about the fairytale. I loved how their relationship developed, how they opened up for each other and finally how Asher came out from his snail shell.
And in the end they lived happily ever after :))

THE VIXEN AND THE VET -- 5++++ Powerful, Touching and Superlative Stars!!!

I imagine the last thing an author wants to hear from a reader who is writing a review on one of their books is that their story has left them speechless. But that is exactly what I felt after having reached the final page of The Vixen and the Vet. This is one of the most moving stories I have read in quite some time and such an extraordinary tale of two souls on a journey to the rediscovery of their lives through love and learning to trust again.

Savannah Carmichael left her small hometown in Virginia to live in New York and become a journalist. But when she is fired after writing a story which ruins her career, she returns to her home in Danvers, Virginia upset and broken. So when an opportunity arises for her to write a new human interest story about Asher Lee, a veteran who returns from Afghanistan after being seriously wounded, she decides this is the story that can ultimately put her back on top. But Savannah never anticipated the bond that would grow between them ultimately melding their lives and their hearts together forever.

After returning to his small home town after being left injured and disfigured in a horrendous explosion, Asher has chosen to live his life in seclusion away from the shocked looks and stares. But when one summer day unexpectedly brings a beautiful young woman to his door asking for him to allow her to tell his story in an article she has been commissioned to write, upon unexpectedly catching a glimpse into her eyes he agrees to talk to her. As the days pass and Asher begins to open up to Savannah, both of their hearts begin to open up as well with a discovery of a love deeper than either of them ever expected to find. But when one mistake inserts a wedge between them, will they be able to look beyond that misunderstanding and return to each other’s arms and hearts where they both believed they had always belonged?

The Vixen and the Vet is an unbelievably powerful and beautiful novel. With a lump in my throat and tears in my eyes, my heart was overflowing from the intense love I could feel that was shared between Savannah and Asher as it emanated from my Kindle. As I reached the last page and the final words of their story, I knew they would remain in my mind and in my heart for many days to come. Their story has truly and deeply touched my soul, and I know I will definitely be returning to them for a second and probably even a third read. For anyone looking for an astonishing book which will fervidly touch them as well, this is definitely a must read.

Katy Regnery is a most extraordinary and prodigious story teller, and I am extremely honored to have been able to read another one of her brilliant and superlative novels. With each tale Katy has written, I find myself falling faster and loving her characters even more than the last. And after having read The Vixen and the Vet, I realized that Katy has done it once again.

NEVER LET YOU GO -- 5+ Stars

Never Let You Go is a modern day fairytale, the newest from one of my favorite authors Katy Regnery. Although this story is edgier than Katy’s other novels, I can still feel her presence through the writing never doubting that this is definitely one of her stories. The emotions she makes me feel while reading her books is indescribable always giving me the experience of such an intense connection to her characters as their lives leap off of the pages of my Kindle and touch my heart.

Griselda and Holden spent their lives at a young age in the foster system after the loss of their parents/family, ultimately living together in the same home. But when they are suddenly abducted, they end up spending three years being held captive together and both being abused. As they begin to fear for their lives, they finally make the decision to attempt an escape never anticipating that one of them will ultimately be unable to get away.

Having spent the last ten years never giving up hope of seeing Holden again, Griselda unexpectedly finds him in a situation she never anticipated. From the moment they reconnect, the chemistry and deep connection they shared as children which had intertwined their hearts once more awakens their souls as adults never having been broken despite their separation and the passage of years. When they decide to disappear from the lives they have been living to get to know each other again, their mutual physical craving skyrockets out of control finally leading them to the relationship they had never shared in their youth. Now as they begin to rediscover each other and learn how they have each spent their lives while separated, they both struggle to understand the individual decisions they ultimately made. Will Griselda and Holden be able to overcome those choices and learn to let go of the past to finally find their happily ever after and build the life together they had always dreamed of?

Through this story, my emotions ran the gamut from laughter to heartbreak. The unfaltering and never-ending love shared between Griselda and Holden despite some of the obstacles they must face is deeply touching, and their intense passion for one another practically shot sparks off of the pages. As I now sit here writing this review reliving their story in my mind, it brings tears to my eyes and a soreness and lump in my throat while simultaneously leaving me with a smile on my face as I recall the tender moments and overwhelming love Gris and Holden shared. This is an absolutely incredible story proving that despite the hurt and pain suffered in the past, the strength that can grow from within (both individually as well as together) can lead down a path towards the undying love that developed from an early age which becomes even stronger and guides them towards an everlasting connection unable to be broken.

I applaud Ms. Regnery for this outstanding and remarkable story. I wish she could have seen me as I read the final words delivering to her a standing ovation for Never Let Me Go. Such a spectacular novel this is, and I have again fallen in love with Katy’s characters and was sad to have to say goodbye. There were definitely countless times that I found myself wanting to read faster just so I could know how the story ends, while at the same time wanting it to go on forever as I didn’t want to let them go.

My love for Katy Regnery and her books started with The Vixen and The Vet and is growing with each and every book of hers. She is an amazingly talented writer who knows how to write stories and characters that will stay with you forever. Since I'm a huge fan of her Modern Fairytales, I was excited to see that she wanted to offer her first two books of this collection as a bundle. Read these amazing stories and let yourself be carried away by the magical writing of Katy Regnery. You won't regret it!

The Vixen and the Vet and Never Let You Go are standalone, unrelated romance novels inspired by traditional fairytales.

- Never Let You Go -
I can tell with absolute certainty that Never Let You Go is one of the most emotional and gut-wrenching love stories I've ever read. Katy Regnery left a permanent mark on my heart with this book that exceeded all my expectations.

Be warned that this book is not an easy read and it's Katy Regnery's darkest book so far! It contains some very sensitive topics like abduction and abuse. I can assure you that she handled these topics very well, not many authors are able to do that.

The author's writing is very captivating. Her words penetrate your heart and mind and you can't help but feel very connected to the characters and their story.

Griselda Schroeder and Holden Croft were both foster children that were kidnapped at the age of ten by a mentaly ill man. He held them captive on his farm in his cellar until they both tried to escape three years later. Unfortunately only Gris managed to flee leaving Holden behind.

10 years have passed. Griselda is living an unhappy life full of regret. She never stopped thinking about Holden. Now she is living together with her abusive and possesive boyfriend Jonah whom she doesn't love. She tolerates him because she believes that she doesn't deserve to be happy. Griselda is secretly saving money to find Holden and is only living because she needs to know what happend to the boy who made her life bearable when it should have killed her.

Gris spends a weekend with Jonah in West Virginia where she is plagued with a lot of memories. One evening they attend a fist-fight where she unexpectedly meets Holden again. But Holden Croft is now Seth West and has grown into a handsome young man with a lot of tattoos and a broken heart.

Holden is shocked but happy to see Gris again. He believed that Gris died while trying to safe them both. Since ten years his heart was dead because it died with her, the only girl he ever loved.

The two of them decide to spent one month at a cabin in the woods and get to know each other again. Their chemistry is off the charts and they soon can't keep their hands from each other. Unfortunately their happy reunion is soon interrupted by some shocking news forcing these two apart again.

Will these two finally find their way back to each other? In order to find out you need to read this amazing book!

I loved Holden and Griselda. They are not perfect and flawless which makes them only human like all of us! Their struggles were realistic. They figured out that in order to be happy together they first needed to be happy with themselves. These two broken people inspired each other to grow and made each other whole again. Their love story is truly epic!

Katy Regnery managed to brake my heart with this book and put it back together. I would give this book 6 stars if it were possible!

- The Vixen and The Vet -
This modern-retelling of "Beauty and the Beast" is one of the most heartbreakingly beautiful love stories I’ve ever read and I can’t believe that it took Katy Regnery only 23 days to write such a masterpiece!

After losing her job at the New York Sentinel Savannah Carmichael returns back to her hometown Danvers leaving her failed relationship behind. Given the opportunity to redeem her career she agrees to interview Asher Lee who is a wounded veteran and the town's hermit.

Savannah couldn’t imagine that the American hero she is supposed to write about is a young, well-educated and charming man who is more than the secluded and disfigured man she expected him to be.

After an IED explosion in Afghanistan disfigured half of his face and took his hand Asher Lee is living an isolated life until the beautiful Savannah Carmichael comes into it with a plate of homemade brownies.

They both couldn’t know at this point that their interview sessions will form a strong bond between them changing their both lives forever. Soon Asher asks Savannah on a date and their beautiful love story takes its course…

After reading this book I clutched my kindle to my chest with tears in my eyes knowing that this epic love story will stay with me forever!

This boxed set includes two beautiful and enchanting modern fairy tales by Katy Regnery - The Vixen and the Vet (inspired by Beauty and the Beast) and Never Let You Go (inspired by Hansel and Gretel).

The Vixen and the Vet:

I'm sure you all have at least once read a book that you thought was perfect in every possible way. The Vixen and the Vet is such a book for me. It's one of the most beautiful und touching love stories I had ever the pleasure to read about.

Savannah Carmichael is back at her hometown Danvers after loosing her prestigious job at the Sentinel in New York as a journalist. She also wants to take a break from a ruined relationship and help her sister Scarlet to plan her wedding. Savannah unexpectedly receives an offer from the Phoenix Times to write a piece of human interest about an American hero for their July 4th issue. She decides to get an interview with Asher Lee - a wounded veteran and the town's hermit. She expects to find a physically disfigured man who chooses to stay away from other people. What she doesn't expect however is, that this man is smart, well-read and charming as well.

Asher Lee is living a lonely and sad life, his housekeeper being his only friend and company. He has been seriously injured by an IED during his deployment in Afghanistan. Once a handsome young man from a wealthy family with a bright future he considers himself now a monster who is not fit for the society anymore. He gave up hope to ever find love and have a happily ever after in his life. Until Savannah Carmicheal knocks on his door asking for an interview.

During their interview sessions, Savannah and Asher get to know each other while discovering an undeniable mutual attraction. Both are at first shy to explore these feelings any further but Asher decides to take a chance on Savannah by asking her for a date. And with this starts the emotional journey of two broken people falling in love with each other. Each of them has his own fears he needs to overcome in order to be together. But as the article for the Phoenix Times turns out to change into a retelling of their love story due to her editor's wish, Savannah suddenly finds herself in the position of keeping secrets from Asher. Is she going to lose him after the article has been published? Can Asher understand her motives for acting like that and forgive her?

Never Let You Go:

Sometimes you read a story that completely captures you. The words seep through your pores right into your heart and soul and after finishing the last sentences and reading "The End" you are completely mesmerized by the feelings you went through while reading this book.

Griselda is living a sad life, having no ambitions at all and being stuck in a loveless and abusing relationship with her boyfriend Jonah. She has spent several years in the foster care system being transferred from one unloving family to the other. Neither Jonah nor her best friend Maya know that once at the age of ten, Griselda was abducted by a stranger together with her foster brother Holden. They were held prisoner for 3 years until the day they both managed to escape. But unfortunately they got separated and only Griselda succeeded in running away leaving Holden behind.

Ten years later she is still thinking about Holden every day. She feels miserable about her decision to flee without him. Her self-hatred and regret are consuming her. Griselda doesn't allow herself to be happy and enjoy life because she thinks that she doesn't deserve it. She has betrayed Holden, the boy she once loved so much. The only purpose in her life is to work, save money and hire a private investigator to find Holden. It's eating her from the inside not to know what happend to him.

One day Griselda and her boyfriend Jonah go on a trip with friends to a cabin in West Virginia. He suggests to go to a local fight. Never could have Griselda expected that one of the fighters is going to be Holden. Once reunited these lovebirds will have to get to know each other again and rebuild their relationship. They will have to fight their own battles seperately in order to have a chance for a future together.

Katy Regnery's writing style is phenomenal. She knows how to pull at your heart-strings. I'm so happy to have discovered this author and her books. I highly recommend her modern fairy tales! You are going to love them.

The Vixen and The Vet
This book is Katy Regnery's first modernized fairy tale, inspired by the classic tale of Beauty and the Beast. She is not the first author to do this, but is possibly one of the most successful at applying it to a real-life scenario that is current, heartfelt, and believable!

Early in the book, Savannah and her sister Scarlet are reading a magazine article on the stages of a relationship, and I loved seeing these stages linked with various chapters throughout the book. You will fall in love with Asher Lee over and over again. Miss Potts, Scarlet, and (mom) Judy were some of the endearing secondary characters who added to the charm of the book. The evolution of Asher and Savannah's relationship was beautiful to read, and we are treated to the angst, romance, passion, and betrayal these two characters endure while chasing their HEA.

The story is beautifully written and thought provoking. It's the most realistic adaptation of Beauty and the Beast that I've ever read, and I was swept away with these characters.

Never Let You Go
Never Let You Go is Katy Regnery as we’ve never seen her before. While this book is a love story in the end, it’s darker than Ms. Regnery’s Blueberry Lane series. The characters are not millionaires. They are gritty and real. The reader takes a journey with Griselda and Holden from the first to the last page.

You’ve probably read the synopsis, so I won’t repeat it here. Let me start by saying that out of the 700+ books on my NOOK, I have NEVER cried after reading a Prologue…until now. Without giving away any spoilers, I will say that I thought this story was going to center around the anticipation of Gris and Holden’s reunion, followed by the angst with Holden not wanting to rush and scare Gris off, with Gris mistaking his controlled distance as brotherly affection and residual feelings for his girlfriend Gemma. While this does have a part in the story, there are other obstacles and plot twists that I didn’t see coming. Gris is on a road to redemption for forgiveness from Holden, and both characters have to find out who they are now that they aren’t searching for each other anymore. Both of them realize they want/need to find their place in the world.

Something else that struck me with this book was that certain words, phrases, mantras that the hero and heroine repeat throughout the book were the driving force behind my emotional responses…and boy was I emotional. The language and dialogue is extremely thoughtful, and beautifully written.

In my opinion, Never Let You Go is Katy Regnery’s SWAN SONG. I’d like to think that her writing legacy will forever be associated with this book. Griselda and Holden’s story was a heartbreaking, intense, sexy, suspenseful, and enduring journey toward true love….the PERFECT blend of everything I yearn for in a good book. If you like books by Mia Sheridan and Amy Harmon, you will love this book. I rarely give 5 stars on reviews, but if I could give more to this one, it would be well-deserved. Bravo Katy Regnery!

*Both books are stand-alone novels with alternating points of view.

These are two of my favorite books and both by Katy Regnery, and now both in a boxed set. Below are both of my 5* reviews.
THE VIXEN AND THE VET:
This is one of the books that make me love reading! A Beauty & the Beast story, but also two wounded souls finding each other & over coming their differences. There are always lots to overcome, but I really enjoyed their story. This was the 1st book I read by Katy Regnery & I so enjoyed her writing, that since I wrote my original review, have read several more of her books, became a big fan of her writing, but this one still remains my favorite, but having said that I find her writing gets better & better with each new release. I highly recommend The Vixen & The Vet & hope you will, too. The second book in her Modern Fairytale Series is out now & Never Let You Go might be her best book yet.

NEVER LET YOU GO:
The Vixen And The Vet was the first book I read by Katy Regnery & it was one of my very favorites of 2014. I was so excited to learn there would be a 2nd book in A Modern Fairytale Series. Each book is a stand-alone, full length, unconnected romance inspired by a classic fairytale. Never Let You Go is inspired by Hansel and Gretel, but make no mistake this is an adult version of a fairytale.

Never Let You Go is a true love story of Holden and Griselda. It is a story of fear & hope, defeat & survival, and two people who were once profoundly broken who discover that love is the only thing that can make them whole again. They endure a childhood of three years of a painful experience that one escaped & one didn't. Never really knowing what happened to the other, but even when they thought the other was gone, they still lived on in each other's heart. Together they would be whole, but separate broken.

My very favorite part of the book was at 25% into, with what I call the “Reunion Scene”. This is the reason I love to read books. Not knowing what happened to each other they are brought back together by fate, a sighting, a hope, and a prayer. They want a new beginning, a familiarity coming back to their relationship, a feeling of coming home, wanting to be together for the rest of their lives, even apart always been together. Together whole but separate broken, a marriage of past and present of eternal love.

Finding out you could love again, even when you thought you couldn't, hoping for new beginnings with happy endings, and belonging to each other heart & soul till the end of time now and forever. I jump, you jump. Keep losing each other, but we keep finding each other, too, so meant to be.

Walking a long road together, as long as they had each other anything was bearable, anything was possible, life is not nice and neat. Something terrible has happened once upon a time, but now they stood victorious in the very place of their defeat, and their happily ever after was in reach. NEVER LET ME GO!

This is one of those very few times that if I could give more than 5 stars to a book (book set) - I absolutely would. Both of these books are phenomenal. With these books, Regnery has found a way to make you want the stories to never end. I can not say enough good things about The Vixen and The Vet & Never Let You Go.
Each book is so different. Each has different characters and different situations, but both are very emotional. These two books were part of my favorite books of 2015 & I read A LOT!!
I highly recommend these books if you are looking for an emotional, loving, angst-filled romance.
My review for Never Let You Go:
How do I put in to words how this book made me feel and do it justice? From the first page to the very last, this story made my heart flutter. I actually had to walk away at times because it was so angst filled that I needed a break. Towards the end, I put the book down for awhile because I didn't want it to end. Katy Regnery did such a phenomenal job of bringing the characters to life - so much so, that you can not help but to get very emotionally invested in their story. It is so heart breaking at times, yet at others, so heart lifting. My words really don't do justice to this book... My favorite line from the book... "You are the breath that I take and the beat of my heart, and no matter where I am, you are always beside me, so we will never be separated again." ~ Holden This book will remain one of my all time favorite books. I will forever be a fan of this author's work!
My review for The Vixen and The Vet:
I absolutely LOVED this book. I have nothing negative to write at all. If you are looking for or like to read a book that makes you feel and has real life in it, then look no further. All of the 4 & 5 star reviews that this book has received are true. You absolutely can not go wrong purchasing this book. Love finding a "new to me" phenomenal author!!

Vixen and The Vet

A tale as old as time.....
Yes it is, and Katy Regnery retold it in this modern version with beauty and grace. I was captivated with Asher Lee from his first moment on the page. His southern charm and "Unpolished" ways stole my heart. Savannah and Asher are strong, warm, and utterly perfect together. The evolution from new friends to lovers is smooth and natural feeling from the first interaction. I laughed out loud and cried awful sobs while falling completely in love this this Beauty and Her Be A tale as old as time.....
I laughed out loud and cried awful sobs while falling completely in love this this Beauty and Her Beast.

Never Let You Go

5 stars are not enough to rate how much I loved this story.....

I finished Never Let You Go last night.

I look like hell this morning, bags and circles and puffy red eyes and now I am crying for the 10th time today and I... uggggg.

I keep thinking about how I could write a review.... how do I do that when I can't see through the tears to type something so important? My meager words could never do this story of Holden and Gris justice. The beauty and majesty of the love in this book are epic.

The Vixen and the Vet/Never Let You Go

Up first, The Vixen and the Vet: I fell in love with Asher from the very beginning. The mystery behind him had me very much intrigued. And I can definitely see what Savannah say in him. From the start there was an instant chemistry between them. Asher even came out of his house for Savannah and to defend her. Savannah was a journalist and wrote a love story article as her and Asher as the main lovers, however she didn't put their names in the editor did. Asher wasn't happy with Savannah although she tried to tell him she didn't do it. She got an opportunity to make it up to him. Finally their journey came back to one another.

Never Let You Go: Grisdel and Holden had an amazing story. Each and every sentence had me dying for more. I couldn't put the book down. Their love started at 13 years old, and came back together 10 years later. Still in love as they were back then. I loved Holden and Hus stammering, he was such a passionate man. He loved Gris with every ounce of his being. She consumed his every thought. I wasn't sure of Gris when we first meet her and she is with Jonah, I didn't know why she stayed with him but in the end she comes clean of why. Holden and Gris didn't have a great childhood. Foster children to a terrible family and then kidnapped. Their journey when they found each other after 10 years was nothing short of drama drama drama. But their love held and they were perfect together.

I love a fairy tale and these two books made my week. The Vet and The Vixen was the tale of a man that turned his back on society and a woman trying to regain her place in society. Both are deeply scarred, one physically and the other by trusting too easily. Together they begin to heal and see the possibility of a new life. Until they are betrayed again. While you see the betrayal coming you cannot help but hope they can avoid their mistakes and overcome their fears.
Never Let You Go tore my heart out. Two children are abducted and suffer years of abuse from a man that believes they are his brother and sister. They plan an escape but only one gets away. Each believing the other is dead they build their lives as best they can but neither is a life worth living. Eventually, they find each other but leaving behind their pasts and building a life together almost more than they can handle.

Katy Regnery has written one of the most touching stories about a wounded Veteran and the woman that brings him out of the depths of his darkness. Savannah has lost her job as a reporter and comes home to Virginia till she finds a new job. She decides to freelance for awhile and wants to write a patriotic feel good story for a Phoenix newspaper. She asks Asher, a neighbor, if she can interview him for her story. After eight years of shunning the public due to his disfigurement he agrees meet with her to tell his story. You will be on an emotional roller coaster with these two as they develop their relationship and deal with the article that is published. I loved this book and couldn't put it down. Put this at the top of your MUST READ list.
