What was under Hemingways Family Home and Estate?

Shane was clearing one box and noticed suddenly a very small piece of paper stuck in the underside flaps of the box. Shane pulled gently and  the paper came away without tearing into her hands. She looked  at the paper and realized  it was  a minuscule map of her home and grounds.  Shane thinks yes, this is the family home, but something is not right.  She goes to her computer and enlarges it and looks again having the same feeling that something is not right actually almost sinister and it seems like there is another city operating within the walls of the house and estate but just can’t put her finger on it.

Everything seems so weird to Shane that  she decides there and then that she must request leave and go back to  Cape Cod. She phones her boss at home and requests a leave of absence once the snow has melted to which he agrees.

I really wanted to like this book. having read the introduction it really sounded like something I could enjoy and it was only a short read. I could not have been more wrong.
There were so many errors in grammar that it was impossible not to notice. To be honest I felt it was more like a badly written script and I'm no expert.
I didn't feel I knew anything much about the characters and the story itself wasn't remotely believable. A small town, almost, under a family estate but no one notices? Really?

Old Cape Cod by Philip Beringer is listed as a mystery thriller, suspense, psychological cozy mystery. For me, those terms are not compatible. I would not call it a cozy.

I gave this book two stars. The numerous punctuation & grammatical errors were so distracting they cost it two stars. The characters were undeveloped, the plot predictable & it barely kept my interest in the forty three pages it lasted.

Shane Hemingway is the last surviving member of the wealthy Hemingway family of Cape Cod. She is a motor mechanic. Her boyfriend, Albert Bond is in Europe on a business deal. The repair shop where she works is closing for a few days due to a pending snow storm. She stocked up on groceries & headed home to clear out the basement. She found a map & needed to go to the estate to investigate.

She discovered that her parents had been taken advantage of by a Dr. Forest Jolie. Things at the estate were not as they had seemed. Then her life was threatened with a cut brake line on her car. Fortunately she had checked before she started driving so was unharmed. Can the perpetrator be caught & brought to justice?

If there was any way to give a negative rating to a book that is what this book deserves. It could serve as an excellent example of every error it is possible to find in a book.
