In the history of the Tantalarian people, The Tribunal Elder is the only one who ever stood up to the Tribunal. He did that when he was a Tribune, and managed to live to eventually lead it. He had disagreed with a decision the counsel made and acted on it. In protest; he cut off his ceremonial braid and threw the discarded plait onto the floor at The Elder’s feet, and refused to ever wear a braid again. His action was considered an insult, to the Elder of that time, as well as the Tribunal. The spirit of the man, who was, still lives in the ruler who is now.
The Tribunal Elder has lived through more millennium than he cares to think about. He is not the type to shirk his duties. He is a force to recon with; yet he is known to be a kind man. To settle a dispute between the Martians and the Human settlers, he is being forced to take the mother ship that they had arrived on Tantalus with many eons before back into space. This, he is not happy about.
The message from the Martians is clear, remove the settlers from the surface of their planet, or they will die. The Tribunal Elder soon discovers there is more to this than those who are command know about, for the act that precipitated this action had multiple events. Someone is working in the background, manipulating forces, to create a power struggle between the two species.
Will he allow the Tantalarians to be pulled into a conflict that they have and want nothing to do with?
M.A. Abraham has created a variety of escapes for readers to venture in to through the years. From elves to Tantalarian's, each world she's created is special, and at times--complex. Each is original in its own way. There's love, romance, excitement and unity in many of her works. All of which grabbed me as a reader of her work in the first place. In Intercession we get humans, witch hunters, one of my favorite aliens (the Tantalarian's) and more. For any reading this here review, I suggest you start from book 1 of the series so you can truly appreciate the world this author has built for her readers.
This is book #4 of the Tantalus Series and the Tribunal Elder is on his way to Mars with other Elders and the two human captains to intercede between the Earths Human colonists and the Sirens of Mars. The Sirens are furious because a couple of their females have disappeared. The Siren Leader Duron believes the humans took them. What a complex race they are and unfortunately the Siren Leader Duron is an immoral and corrupt leader. Tribunal Elder has suspicions the Siren females weren't kidnapped but left on their own accord-they have the power of compulsion and are fierce warriors. To make matters worse, there is an illness that is killing the Sirens. Tribunal Elder has his scientists and the human scientists check into this and they find parasites in the water and try to find a cure. Then there is the problem of the human women who have been impregnated by the Siren men. Will the Tribunal Elder be able to find a solution for all the problems he's faced with? You'll find out for yourself when you read the story. As usual, Mary Ann keeps us enthralled with everything that is going on in the story. Once you start reading, you won't put the book down until your finished. She takes us into such wonderful worlds with such fantastic characters. I'm so enjoying this series too!
After just finishing a war to rid the of them of the head Witch Hunter and free the people he has influenced, the people of Tantalus are faced with an equally disturbing pr0blem. The Tribunal Elder has recieved an ultimatim from Mars get the humans there off Mars or they will be killed. Gathering the most respected humans together with an equal number of Tantalarians a meeting is held to see if they will acccompany the Tantalarians to see to the problem. The captains of the human ships that have landed on Mars already, are asked to go and as representatives of the humans on Tantalus to help them see the advantages of living on Tantalus.
Once there Kyllan the Tribul Elder finds that things are not well in the Siren community and the Siren leader is a corrupt and brutal leader. He feels that the females have not been taken but left of there own accord as these women have powers that would enthrall most humans they would have encountered. The Siren community first encounter by Kyllan is not the only one there and things tale off from there and what a trip it is .

This book brings a major twist in the series, that I didn’t expect. An exciting continuation of the series where we find out more about Tantalarian history, a conflict on Mars and a positive outcome for all involved. This is the book where my BBF from the series, Kyllan really shows his skills as a leader and a negotiator. I recommend it and the series with 5 stars.
Mr. Callanan is brilliant with the new characters' voices and the seamless continuation with the voices of the characters we met in the previous audiobooks. Well done! - 5 stars
Intercession by M.A. Abraham is the 4th book in her Tantalus series. M. A. Abraham once again gives us an exciting and tense story as we return to the world of Tantalus. Intercession picks up shortly after the last book ended. A brief refresher of the premise of Tantalus: This is a Sci-Fi story about two species (Humans & Tantalarians) that are forced to work together on the planet Tantalus.
The Tribunal Elder has been requested to go to Mars and remove the human settlers who live there or all humans will be killed. He gathers a team made up of Tantalarians and human leaders who have migrated nicely in Tantalus. The purpose is to find out the what and why causing this issue. The Elder wants only mated men, as the Sirens from Mars are known to use their ability to get what they want by using alluring spells; and the mated men are immune to those spells. He also wants Terec & Adele (our previous book heroes) to come, especially since Adele has the ability to read people and able to see if they are lying.
When they arrive in Mars, they are greeted by the Siren leader, as well as one of the woman warriors, who threaten them. They are told that a few of the women are missing, and blame the human residents. The Elder senses there is more to the story, and with his team they meet with the resident human leaders of various ships to discover what is happening. Adele will make friends with Glynnis, one of the Siren females, who helps heal those who have been affected by sickness from contaminated water. Adele and Gynnis will play a big part in helping fix the water, and learn the truth about what is happening.
What follows is a well written and excellent story line that will have the Elder, and the Tantalarians discover the issues, as well as stopping a dangerous revolt. I loved meeting Echoes, a Siren princess, who was able to stop the revolution, and dictate punishment to those involved. I loved Adele and Terec. I also enjoyed the surprise twist was also very nice.
Intercession, the fourth book in the Tantalus series is brilliant, with a great plot and captivating characters. In this installment, we get to meet the Martians, and they are not tolerant. The Elders will play a significant role in finding a possible peaceful resolution.
M.A. Abraham is an exceptional sci-fi romance writer, with the ability to create a complex world with an alien culture. What's more, she focuses on the plot, characters, and outcome, rather than the sensual scenes. The romance is compelling but not explicit, both violence and profanity are also limited. Brian Callahan's performance was utterly amazing. I absolutely love his strong clear and smooth voice.
This book brings a major twist in the series, that I didn’t expect. An exciting continuation of the series where we find out more about Tantalarian history, a conflict on Mars and a positive outcome for all involved. I recommend it with 5 stars.
M.A. Abraham is someone that I found this year and I am a bit upset with myself that it took me that long to find her works. I have only read this series but I have to admit that I am hooked on it. There are so many layers that goes on within her worlds and I am sucked right in.
Brian Callanan is amazing as well. He is committed and everyone has a different voice within this series, there are a lot of characters, and the fact that he manages to keep all the different voices straight not only throughout the book but throughout the series is impressive.
This book was a bit different then the previous three. I was not expecting this book to be dark but there were moments where I did not expect the death and just the crazy to happen. We also got to see more characters that will play a part in the upcoming books. I loved the ending of this book but M.A. is known for her cliffhangers and this book did not disappoint.
I think I am also in love with the Tribunal Elder. He is a wonderful character and is a sucker for all the women in his life. I want to see him happy and I am excited to see if he finds another mate or if he is destined to be the savor for everyone.
