Once upon a time, there was an intelligent boy called Vidoy. And there was a beautiful girl called Dibisha. They met under the Virgin tree, Hindu college. She found him not her cup of tea. He was not in a condition to think anything but run away. Very soon, they became close friends. He fell in love with her. But he did never say. She never even thought about him in that way. For her, he was just an average looking boy.
She can go for lingerie shopping with him. She doesn't feel odd. He can hold her hand while crossing the road. But they are just friends. Read the book to find out what happens next. Will he ever tell what he feels for her? If he does, will she ever accept him? And also know about the interesting myths about Virgin tree.
I'm not hating here, not at all. Props to the guy for trying, but this book is absolute shit (or shits, as the Dibisha would say). The writing is atrocious, the dialogue is poor, and the grammar is almost non existant. Can't say much about the story. I cringed at every freaking page. I almost couldn't finish this book, and this is coming from a guy who read Chetan Bhagat's new book in six hours. At least that guy attended all the grammar classes. If you're thinking of reading this, if you're an avid reader: don't. If you're a casual reader: don't. If you're a new reader: don't.
I have seen reviews with better grammar than this book. Mr. Author, you really should have hired an editor for this.
And stop with the paid five star reviews, it's embarrassing
I appreciate his efforts, Story is good , omg this book is not good i don't know how it became national best seller. up to now poor English, the dialogues, sometimes i really don't know what he is trying to write, high girly stuff. I know girls who are like the heroine in this book, but this far more than that. This is "not my cup of tea or coffee" whatever like the girl said.
once i will finish this i will edit and write how the story is......
Hahaha I don't know I can't continue, author should work on his English.
I'm an Average Looking Boy ...Will you be my girlfriend? By - Reviews by Nikhil Talwar My honest review fot this love story......... First of all HEARTIEST congratulations to ROOPESH KUMAR for his first book. Vidoy and Dibisha met for the first time in their college.. they began their journey as Best Friends and after many events of mixed emotions they end up
falling in love. I must say that author ROCKS!!! simply ROCKS. A tremendous work by this author. Hat's off to this author who has presented a beautiful
love story of a boy and girl named "Dibisha" and "Vidoy". A story which has everything in it. It has every element and perfect combinations of "Love" "Romance" "Comedy" "Friendship" and all.... I must say that this love story is must read for all those who loves reading and enjoying Fictions especially romantic one. It is a love saga of two hearts
becoming one soul and their struggles will surely leave the readers with tears. A fresh concept has been taken up. Congratulation to this author for the effort
he put in this love story. Story is amazingly plotted with a simple love story with interesting twist and turns. Truely outstanding. While i was reading it, at some parts i felt very emotioned , while sometimes i feel like crying means my eyes were watery. End is SURPRISING & CHILLING. I was reading the climax part with no AIR. SOME ROMANTIC INCIDENTS WERE RELATED TO MY LIFE ALSO, THAT'S THE REASON OF LOVING THIS NOVEL EVEN MORE. There are some incidents which i liked the most and that was... 1) Vidoy letter to Dibisha 2) Enjoying at Vidoy's room 3) Friend bonding between "Dibisha" "Vidoy" "Shreya" "Ishan" "Ananya" 4) I liked the way "Samar" handled everything and what he felt about "Dibisha". His behaviour towards "Dibisha" was good. 5) Making love and roaming with "Vidoy" ...and few more things i liked about this love story. While I was reading story I got completely engrossed in that. Such a heartwarming beautiful love story by Respected Writer "Roopesh Kumar". I want to give ratings for this story and here are the ratings:- For romance 4.5 out of 5 stars For Story and Plot of the book 5 out of 5 stars For Dibisha and Vidoy (In love with these characters) 5 out of 5 stars SERIOUSLY IT'S A GRIPPING TALE OF COUPLES WHO ARE MADLY IN LOVE WITH EACH OTHER. As a whole overall my star ratings are 4.8 out of 5 It will going to be in one of my favourite fictions. Thanks. like emoticon smile emoticon
Started this book on April Fools day and that's what this book is doing to you people, making a fool out of you. It's the most horrible book I've read in my whole life. God knows how I completed it. There is no grammar, no construction of proper sentences, nothing. This writer had an okay idea (that's all it was) but he wrote it on the most awful way. How in the word is he getting 5 star reviews only be knows. He says he's a big fan of Chetan Bhagat, then learn something from him.
It's just a horrible book, cringeworthy title, poor execution, meaningless sentences, totally waste of good money.
Just a reminder to the person who likes to read or wants to start reading books out there, if you want to read something, don't start with this one. It'll crush your faith in reading.
I love you because the entire universe conspired to help me find you.
While reading this novel, I was dumbstruck; that how this debut writer could write his very first novel so maturely?! I must say that this is a piece of work by a newbie. With no prior experience in writing, he made it very beautifully. It beautifully portrays college life the pranks and shows how beautifully a relationship blooms. The author narrates the whole story from a female point of view and he depicts all the thoughts and problems of a girl. There is a tinge of humor with a whole lot of love, and, yes, sobs are demand to be heard... After reading the last few chapters I thought to smash Vidoys’ head but after listening to his side of the story I changed the plan of smashing. I salute Dibisha for how she controlled herself in that situation and how she had a firm belief in her love. Seriously, a stroke of great luck favors her side. It’s not only a simple, beautiful love story but it also reveals the culprits who are degrading society by asking dowry. This is a package of all emotions, you will laugh, cry. This book will capture your attention to its last page. This book is all about college life, friendship, family, happiness, responsibility, and true love. I strongly recommend this book for reading, you will never get disappointed. The story of the book is also engrossing, which keeps you interested as you want to know what happens with each of the characters. The author has included a lot of characters in the book which makes it even harder to give equal justice to each of them but he manages to take all the characters ahead in the story. Here the author discusses a major issue seen in Indian society i.e. the dowry. It’s more like selling their child for the dowry more than tying them with a forever relation. The only negative I saw is that the counselor (What’s her name again?) left her husband after six months 0f their marriage because she met his true love. But let’s not say it is an undesirable plot because if that had not happened, the story wouldn’t have completed in a good way though I will agree to disagree that it is possible in our society. And there were other few scenes which would be hard to imagine will happen in reality again in our society. But overall, this book is amazingly penned and, the climax was unexpected (Saying this to troll myself as I already spit the climax, in a way.) I would recommend this to everyone who is looking for a college rom-com.
Roopesh Kumar's brilliantly authored 'I'm an Average Looking Boy... Will You Be My Girlfriend?’ is one of its kind. In 2016, he made his debut with this book, which became a best-seller!
You may not be drawn to this book at first glance, but the synopsis on the back cover will pique your interest. And believe me when I say that you should not judge this book by its cover because the plot is simple yet wonderful. He understands how to tell a compelling story in simple language. It's not like the typical love novels we see; there aren't many dramatic twists and no major gestures; instead, it's all about how simple, everyday actions matter. It gently reminds us that the small, unimportant moments are valuable and special, and we should treasure them before they are lost.
It's a new-age college love story, and while it is a little cliché and stupid, aren't love stories intended to be? The characters are two ordinary people: Dibisha, a lovely, gentle girl, and Vidoy, a hardworking but average-looking young man. They are real people to whom we can relate.
It's not just about love and relationships; it's also about growth, friendship, college life, two types of parents, pain, being strong while also being weak, enlightenment, small moments in life, laughing and crying together, it's purity; it's wholesome! It's not about being perfect; it's about embracing and loving someone as they are. All of this allows us to identify with the characters' agony, envision the scenarios, and feel their emotions.
Yes, there is a plot twist, but I believe it adds to the book's intrigue. The book teaches us that things don't always go as planned, and it's okay to be disappointed and influenced by it; instead of giving up, seek help if necessary. And the more you read it, the more you'll enjoy it.
I've read this book several times and can recall each scenario from memory, and I can confidently say that it has increased my faith in true love. I'd recommend it to anyone who appreciates realistic love stories.

I hated when vidoy left Dibi but I was happy that finally they met again.. A happy ending You should read it..You will love it
To be honest my first read in novels after years of my school days:) so this review might appear to be biased for some. The story line is simple usual stalker story that many of us have experienced in college scenes.I wont say this is unputdownable or an engaging one but it does give u a good read feel
I am an average looking boy... will you be y girlfriend? is the story of Dibisha and Vidoy.Well, first of all the cover and the title of the book is average. It could have been something else. This book didn't work for me. The dialogues are very poor, so is the vocabulary. This book is simple but not at all interesting. the book is not well edited. The pace of the story is slow and the flow is okay. The wow factors that a story can have are missing. There are many concepts like the virgin tree in the book which the author could have explained in a beautiful way with proper grammar. The language is simple and easy. The characters were average. The plot was not that strong and the narration was medium.
Hello Roopesh sir :-) First I would like to congratulate you on the success you have made for your debut novel "I am an average looking boy" I don't think I am in any place to review your book which has turned out to be the national best seller.. Reading this book has been a beautiful journey for me <3 With every chapter I proceeded I wanted to know what was about to happen next. You have filled it with mystery and suspense and it was not at all monotonous like many other love stories I read before! At the end, you've shared peace with the readers along with your book. A beautiful tale of Love blended with friendship and mingled with family! You've beautifully portrayed the importance of love, friends,a mother, a father, a brother and relatives place in one's life. The best thing I found out about your book is that it's not just about eternal love but also immense inspiration that the readers can derive from Dibisha (of course my most favourite and memorable character who never lost her faith in love and kept fighting till the end).I have equally loved all the characters you created: Mr Vidoy, who loved Dibisha unconditionally, unimaginably and uncontrollably.Ananya, a friend who never left Dibisha's side no matter how hard the situations turned up.Ishaan and Shreya and even Samar who were there for Dibi at one call and supported her through all the phases of her life. You have put life into the characters.I loved how you described the gradual changes in these six characters from being innocent teenagers to how they grow up being mature as college life ended.Everyone can relate to them with their own lives. It was really moving. Also it's not just the story but I am completely in Love with your writing style. It's flawless and really something new to look forward at.I loved how you took up the problems of our Indian society which is mainly faced by the women and put it up before us.The part were you talk about Dowry system In India, about women education, about population crisis, about discrimination, even about the irresponsible Policemen, and all so many little problems every girl faces in her daily life in our country, every point you have made has touched my soul. And Trust me I have read a lot of novels from classic to fiction to eternal love stories but never came across something like the one you've pen down. This is no normal story, you blew my mind with the climax especially, the twist in the story was such an unexpected journey. I will not reveal too much of it and leave it here to let the readers to find out the end of this amazing love story <3 -Keep writing Storyteller
Sometimes, I took breaks from reading. The length of my To-Read list frustrates me and I end up in giving a break to myself. After the break, my mind and heart long to read and with renowned interest I start to read again. So, after a long a break from book reviews, here I am with a new book. This time, I have chosen a book by a brand new author Roopesh Kumar. Roopesh is a student and you can never imagine the book I’m an Average Looking Boy..will You be My Girlfriend? is his debut novel. So, let’s dig into the book to know what it is all about.
Things that I loved in the book
The story. It was a story of Dibisha and Vidoy who met under the Virgin tree in Hindu college. The story was cute, fresh and very well elaborated before giving the final twist. Though in some places it was predictable but the book is worth reading.
Characterisation in the book is really good. You can relate to every character in the book as if they just live near your house. Everyone has a friend like Vidoy, Ishan and Shreya and someone like Ananya and Samar too. But the thing I liked most is Dibisha’s character. The book is written from Dibisha’s point of view and not for a single moment you find it that the author is not a girl but a boy!
The social issues the author has touched are reality in our society. The message he wants to give is well delivered. If at least ten persons think about them deeply, then we can say that his effort has succeeded.
Things that I didn’t love about the book
The thing that I did not love about the book is the editing part. When you have proudly announced that the book is solely written and edited by you, you have to be very careful about the editing part. Editing is tough and accepting its responsibility is also very tough. The book has some unavoidable mistakes. The grammar sense was poor and while reading a love story, these mistakes are irritating.
The second thing that I did not like was use of several terms. The slangs were avoidable in the text while using short forms of words like BTW for By the Way is not advisable. And what is ‘northeast girl’?
Over all, the book is fun, light and worth reading. I am giving it three out of five in my readometre.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.

BOOK REVIEW
This Novel's Plot is based in Delhi. Its about College life of Dibisha who studies in Hindu College, Delhi University along with Shreya, Ishan and Vidoy.
The book, in fact, has been written from her point of view, and during the course of the book the readers actually wonder at the observation skills of the author.
The author has very smartly touched some real issues of our society, like (Policemen harrasing Couples in Parks for money) . He has given his point of view in a manner that does not hurt anybody's feelings, yet the point gets conveyed. His purpose is to spread the message to maximum people, so that maximum people think about the similar problems faced by the society.
The book is for light and fun reading, and should not be missed by those who like to read love stories.
Favorite Moments: #Dibisha's and Vidoy's First Meeting #Ananya's Character #Dibisha's Courage when She was Pregnant
Heart-Breaking Moment: #Nothing is revealed about Sukriti Roy
I would like to conclude by saying that "I'm an average looking boy...will you be my girlfriend? " is an amazing novel and is a sure way to have a sneak peek in the world of College at Hindu College, Delhi University.
This book was awesome I must say everyone should read this this is not just a love story but deep emotion and other country problems are mention I read this book as my friend suggest me to read I really thank to him for suggest me and getting the site of girls thinking from this book is very helpful for guys like us who are still single and at last i want to say to everyone read this book this is just awesome
As a debut Author, Roopesh has done a great work. His writing style is good and the quotes he used in his book is awesome, which is based on reality, like other established authors. You are going to be a bestseller soon, I hope you already became.
well, it is a nice story I must say. A story with some twists and turn and lots of love and romance.A story of love with friendship between Dibisha and vidoy.
First thing, making mistake is good but making blunder is very bad. So, I thing this book is a blunder. In this book, there are many things which didn't work in real life of an indian middle class family. 1. The virgin tree concept was good but the author didn't write any big or good event related to it. So, the whole virgin tree part was used to add one more chapter in the book only. 2. Second thing is, " If your love is real and true then whatever the condition is, you never let your partner go ". In this book, Vidoy married to Sukriti and left Dibisha just because his parents want him to marry her. I know parents are our first responsibility but if your love is true then you must be able to face any problems............I mean you should try hard to convince your parents. 3. Third thing is, Dibisha always said to others that don't search for Vidoy just because Vidoy wrote that in his message. In real life, I thing a pregnant girl never say that. So, if any other girl was there, she definitely searched the guys and informed him about his mistakes and responsibilities. 4. Fourth thing is, no Indian family accepted the decision took by Dibisha that she wanted to give the birth to a child without father but still, in this book , Dibisha's father accepted the decision which is an imaginary thing. So, according to me this is my review. There are some blunders in this book which I already pointed out.
Page-turner, You will love it from beginning to end.
An average boy, yes you heard it right, the book is a love story not extraordinary but a lovely one, between an average but inteligent boy Vidoy and beautiful, stunning, heartthrob Dibisha.
The way they meet on the first day of college, under the 'Virgin tree'. They soon become good friends. How do vidoy share his favorite Maggi with her? How do they start studying together? And finally, most romantic things happen...they soon fall in love with each other. It's not a one-sided love.
The author has narrated the complete story from dibisha's point of view. Yes, dibisha is the main protagonist, author has beautifully described the thoughts, feelings of a teenage girl. Also author emphasized on few social issue that we are facing in our few states such as dowry system. How the slabs of money are made according to status and education of boy in few states, and parents have to worry about the money that needed to give for their daughters marriage.
The language is very lucid and gripping. The tale is flawlessly plotted that will keep you engaged till the end of a book. The book is complete package of roller coaster that will make you laugh, sob, cry and emotional while going through it. I would like to recommend it to anyone who loves to read romance 💕.
I'm an average looking boy...Will you be my girlfriend ? Author : Roopesh Kumar Publishers : Fingerprint! Genre : Romantic fiction
I'm Average looking boy ...... girlfriend? is a witty tale of friendship, love , and Romance . This is the debut novel of Roopesh and we can see chetan bagath influence in some places. This story is revolving around Vidoy and Dibisha. Once upon a time , there was an average looking boy called vidoy . More than that , he was smart , innocent and intelligent. And there was a beautiful girl called Dibisha.Like all other teenagers , college means bunking classes , friendship , attention from all boys . They met under the Virgin Tree not, willfully but forcefully as vidhan was being ragged by the seniors . They were in same class and day by day they became close friends. He fell in love with her . But he couldn't never say. And for her , he was just an average looking boy. Will he ever tell her what he feels for her ? If he does , will she ever accept him ? And what are those strange myths about that Virgin tree ? The myths become true in their case? This book makes you believe that if you love someone with all your heart, they will always find a way to you.

A detailed love story. You don't need to imagine any thing while reading this book, the writer has done enough hard work to portray each and every thoughts that could ever be related to a particular scene. Very well narrated story, it's an amalgamation of love, endurance, pain, society, faith, friendship, relationships, family.
Characters have been created genuinely, not a single extra character, each one has their genuine part in the story. At one point of time, you won't be able to stop a drop of tear to come out from your eyes. While reading, I could not make out when my eyes became wet, a very touchy story.
The story depicts about how love and faith can achieve impossible things and even God has to some time rewrite his stories. Well done Roopesh Kumar, and thanks for this beautiful book. I am indeed privileged to have an author copy signed by Roopesh Kumar.
There are times when I wonder if some of the incidents were written just to fill up space. there were gaps and the ending was a bit too plain and predictable but even then lacked the feel. I understand the author trying to portray stuffs into it to make am effort but it all seems carelessly knit across the different parts of the story than as a whole thing.
overall though I liked how the story started and as soon as i wanted to know more, the story took a wrong turn. and the test was all downhill from there. won't recommended. sorry.
One of my favourite books. This is Roopesh Kumar's debut book. The writing is really really good. Roopesh Kumar being a fan of Chetan bhagat used some of his context in this book. He showed how people look at Biharis and the mentality of the Biharis, molestation problems in the public transports of Delhi, dowry problems in Bihar. It also shows that if u love someone it should not be constrained to time and it's not love if it's not forever. Trusting each other in love is the most important thing. And friendship is the foundation of love.
title looks attractive unlike cover page :p considering roopesh as debutant he did pretty well kudos to my man for taking 2 yrs to write and not writing shitty stuff ..story revolves around dibisha and vidoy they were strangers then they were friends then lovers then u know ... u can relate urself most of the time pondering "that has happened to me also" the last quarter of book is bit too overwhelming and overdramatic but worth Reading .. atleast I enjoyed
I really enjoyed it, I was fully engaged and can't keep this book down... I was disappointed with the cinematic reason where Vidoy left Dibi for his mother's emotional blackmail and Dibi with his baby blindly hoping that he'll come back ,also Sukruti giving divorce.. Expect few things, the entire story really makes me to cry, laugh, love with all emotions❤️
This is a love story of Vidoy and Dibisha. Once upon a time, there was an smart boy called Vidoy and also a beautiful girl Dibisha. First time, they met under the Virgin tree, Hindu college. She found him not her cup of tea. Vidoy was not in a condition to think anything but run away...Read More
