Excelent narrative of one WWII flyers life in learning to be a pilot and the length of time it took to fly a Catalina Flying Boat and hunt for submarines. The training was not an easy task especially learning to fly by instruments alone under a canvas cover. It was amazing to learn how long these planes could stay aloft (16 hours or more) and also how unpredictable the compass readings might be unless they took star and night headings on a regular basis. A great read.. Rob
