I might not have the most exciting life, but thank goodness I avoid trouble. That’s what really matters.
Until I get back from a completely routine coffee break and see the boss’s new client perched on the edge of my neatly ordered desk.
Maybe it’s his Southern drawl. I am such a sucker for a Southern accent. It could also be his honey blonde hair, his sherry eyes, the command in his posture, or the way the man fills out a suit…
In any case, I already wish I’d never laid eyes on Gregory Lucas, because he can only mean one thing for me.
Trouble.
Note: Short story. Cliffhanger ending. Part 1 of 3. (Very) Adult content.

I've read four of this author's works, only because I got them in a bundle. I continued reading in the hopes that something will let up, that things will change from one novella to the next, but I was disappointed, highly. Here's how I'll sum up up each book:
Poor, struggling girl meets a rich handsome guy who instantly wants her for sex, and immediately gets what he wants, while the heroine is all enamoured. Then suddenly, the "hero" is the one calling all the shots:giving her access to all the money she wants(in exchange for sex) but having her followed, deciding what she'll wear (or rather what she won't) etc. The heroine slowly realizes what's happening until the hero says that she is his girlfriend, and she'll suddenly be okay with the concubinage. The hero stakes total claim.
The really is the gist of the four novellas I read. What Kristina Weaver does in her works is to take a poor but strong, hard working, woman, pitches her with a rich, arrogant, and misogynistic guy, and makes her look stupid. Suddenly, with the guy in equation, everything that the woman does is illogical in front of the man's infallible logic. Miss Weaver takes a strong woman, and then completely unravels her. The worst thing about it? Her heroines are deprived of some much needed spine to resist that. Instead, they are all too happy to give up control over their lives, happy being reduced to a sex toy, a trophy girlfriend. I wouldn't be exaggerating if I said that I was left horrified by everything that happened here. It was hard to believe that I was reading something set in the 21st century. I found both the characters unattractive and thanked my stars that these weren't real. That was the only consolation I had, as I got done with what Miss Weaver offers. Hope she stops hating women so much...
He did what? He did it How again. Really, this book was very entertaining and definitely unique in the story line. She gets mad at him but then she learns later that... it wasn't all what it seemed or was it. He thought she was cheating but she wasn't, she thought he didn't love her but he does.
Greg is a jerk! He treats Han so bad and she keeps taking him back. Then she marries him after everything he done to her but he keeps treating her bad and lieing to her. And she seems to be OK with it. I read it to the bitter end.....it didn't get better.... and there was no cliffhanger.
Cliffhanger ending as per summary of this book but NO there is no cliffhanger. Thats the end. No more.. I wonder how book 2 and 3 will go for this series. This is just bad with the capital B. *sigh*
