An oldie but a goodie. It tells the story of the decimation of the Japanese bastion at Truk Atoll by land and carrier based air power. In comparison with the protracted land battles at Guadalcanal and the like, not to mention the lopsided air battles through the Marianas, Truk is a lesser told tale. This book provides a great narrative to the many daring raids made to neutralize the garrison. We also visit the Japanese defenders who faced overwhelming odds during the onslaught.
