Puddle: A Tale for the Curious

Rate this book
When a curious high school gardener finds a boy from a distant planet sitting in her gazebo, she eagerly puddlejumps with him to another world.

Puddle is a tale for the curious, the lover of plants, and the healer inside each of us. It is for those of us who notice the little details, such as reflections upon tranquil water. Here is a story that celebrates the power of stories, and knows that solid connections can be made over meals, especially woodland-foraged meals.

Come dance all night with the Trees, as they share their stories and their secrets. Join the fireside for conversations concerning science and magic and the in-between spaces. Celebrate life, love, joy, health, healing, and the nonjudgmental approach to life that is common among trees.

I loved the writing style and thought that the description was amazing! What I didn't like was the ending. It felt rushed.

What a delicious read! If you love nature, if you long to have your bare feet connected to the Earth, if you feel inherently connected to all living things, you will enjoy this book as I did. This is not a book to read quickly. There is wisdom, vulnerability, beauty, and engaging thoughts on most pages that invite pause. There is a playfulness in the author’s words that will connect with the adult who still engages, entertains, and encourages the idyllic thoughts and peace-loving dreams of their youth. These are ideas none of us should outgrow. I read and ultimately finished this book under the shade of a tree. I think the main character, Birch, would want it that way.

This was the book I wanted to read- where forests came alive and danced through the night, songs changed the world, characters traveled through reflections, and cats interfered where they thought they should- but nobody had written it. So, I wrote it and can now enjoy reading it. I hope you will enjoy it too(:
