Kellz Kimberly 24, fell in love with urban fiction after reading 'Baby Girl' by Jihad. The was only the first of many urban fiction novels she fell in love with. Eventually Kellz took her love for reading it and redirected it to a pen & paper. Dropping her first book in 2014 Kellz Kimberly has been building a name for herself ever since. With 27 books under her belt & 9 of them being Amazon Urban Fiction Number One Best Seller, Kellz Kimberly is just getting started.
She is slowly but surly taking the Urban fiction world over by storm. She recently took home the AAMBC BreakOut Author of The Year award, solidifying her as a force to be reckon with. This is only the start for Kellz Kimberly, she is always working and coming with new material to give readers then same feeling she got when she read her first urban fiction book.
Not only is she an author but she is a publisher as well. She works with her authors to help them pursue their dreams and encourages them to tell their story in a form of another story.
At only 24 she has accomplished a lot but she's nowhere near done with her list of goals. For her writing is so much more than just telling a story. It's about being able to have a reader full in love with a set of characters so much that they feel invested in the book. For her that is the greatest feeling of.
The best way to sum up Kellz Kimberly is 'She Writes, She Grinds, She Slays"
I loved Chicago and Kapri love story cause it was bound to happen. It's crazy how Chicago and Syn were really brothers and put the history with Ivana to the back burner, that just go's to show you love conquer all. I also loved Nelly and Tahiem there love was like no other. Diego made me sick to my stomach from all the pain he caused but at the end of the day he got what he deserved. Justin just set himself up to die, I wish that Chicago mom could have lived to see his Jr born. Overall great read
You brought your pen game once again. I am loving some Chicago and, hope to see him appear again. I knew Kapri would finally give into Chicago. When ma Cynthia was set on fire, I really thought she would come out alive. I couldn't stand Diego at all, he only cared about self. But, that Tah was an absolute nut along with Syn. The way Tah did Tez was wrong but, he tried to warn him.
Trying to decide between a 3.5 and 4.... So we are just going to say between a 3.5 and 4.
Now... keeping this short and sweet... It was a cool read, I actually was more into Nellie and Tah story to be honest. Kapri and Chi were cool but... I just wasn't interesting in them much... actually not even in the beginning. I didn't really latch on to the story until Nellie and Tah showed up.
Ivana and Sy... yeah that was a hoot... and extremely odd. Not them as a couple but everything surrounding them and other things to say the least.
THIS IS A MUST READ!!!! I loved it from the beginning to the end. Definitely a page turner. I love Chicago & Kapri relationship. Hell I love all the couples, Lol!!! So much drama & secrets.. He lost his mother but gain his father & twin brother. I love the growth between they ladies... I also like how you added the couples from your other series as well.. A great must read!!!
Yeaaassssss!!!!! Kellz done did it again. I've yet to be disappointed by any of your work yet. I'm definitely a fan of the 1!!! The plot was different and very unpredictable. My favorite character for sure is Tahiem. The characters were easy to relate to and I couldn't get enough when everything started to unravel. This crew stuck together throughout the highs and lows. #CertifiedBanger #5StarsAintEnough #1KellzKimberlyFan
I really enjoyed Kapri and Chicago love story. It starts of with Chicago and child hood best friend Kapri. Chicago is Baltimore most wanted players he goes thru women like underwear he rich and is use to getting what he wants. Kapri is Chicago best friend who refused to be another knot on his bed post she doesn't have time for games so she dates Justin who Chicago can't stand. Chicago has been a no string attached relationship sex only with Ivan for a year and half was extremely jealous and doing way to much. Chicago was getting tired of the single life and having countless affair with different women he wanted to settle down easier said then done. Chicago has had feelings for Kapri for years they date briefly in high school until he cheated on her so broke up with him and moved on and thought that it best they remain friends. Kapri was in a relationship with Justin who was not good for her he didn't understand her and Chicago best friend relationship. Ivan Lynn was also jealous of Kapri and Chicago friendship she felt more was going then he was telling. Ivan had some insecurities about somethings because her mother was a meanie they didn't have a close mother and daughter relationship. Taheim was best friend with Chicago he wasn't dating a whole lot of different women he went thru that faze he was 26 years old He was looking for a women he could have a connection with it wasn't all about sex with him he wanted to build something with someone in a relationship. He wasn't looking for anything serious until he meets Nelly best friend of Kapri. Nelly talented tattoo artist who was Independent, Free-spirit, Mature,Humble, Passionate. Nelly wasn't a no push she didn't play she didn't let a lot of people in her inter-circle Kapri was her only friend. Nelly has some insecurities due to worse treatment a mother could do to a child growing up she verbally and physically abused her made her feel worthless when she was a diamond in the rough. Nelly prove her mother wrong she was a strong and independent women who was a successful business entrepreneur who took obstacles by the horns and slated them. She was in a relationship with Tez for almost two years and Chase him off with her insecurities issues. So basically Nelly avoided relationships and drama. Taheim was very strong attraction to Nelly it was just something about her that made her unique about her that stood out she was different from any woman he every date.
So I liked Chicago & Kapri and the friends to lovers dynamic. Tah & Nelly's story really spoke to me and I enjoyed their relationship just as much as the MCs. But the storyline really went to ridiculous, I almost stopped reading several times why Chicago grew up without a father, why Syn left his first love and hey lets go kill the leader of a Columbian drug cartel on a lazy Sunday afternoon! Just too much!!!!
This was my first read by this author and let me say she did not disappoint. The story flowed so well. The characters the story line, and the description was well written and put together. I hated what happened to Cynthia, but I will forgive the author for that. Great read, I highly recommend it.
Omg.....this book was so good! 👏👏👏 Chicago was Boo but Tahiem was Bea. He really made Nelly feel special and more confident. It was good to see some familiar faces written in. That was a extra bonus. A Player's Prayer is worth reading. Good drama and an excellent ending.
Best friends turn into lovers enemies becomes friends and family find family A great book the characters was mad cool seriously funny and crazy but in a good way I never read anything like this girl you didn’t that I was hoping for a 3/4 book series with them and they’re dad tan and Nelly vana and sin
Even though this book was LONG it was really good! I get it's a stand alone so you got to fit everything in one book. Everybody relationship was great and I loved how every couple built each other up instead of just playing games the whole book. Good read!
Love the storyline. Chicago was the man and he knew he really love Kapri. Sad that he didn’t know about his twin Syn..Enjoyed the mention of Danger and company...Good read...
I really enjoyed reading about Kapri and Chicago. The Author kept the storyline very interesting and I loved the characters. Of course I would love to see a spinoff.
I really enjoyed this book. There was alot of drama and changes. It kept me not wanting to put it down. An if I did put it down I was drawn right back to. Very rememberable indeed. Lata
Finding love in ways you never thought would happen. lines. Secrets revealed, loss of love one, healing process, strength, drama, forgiveness, all wrap up in this standalone book. Tah what that mouth do with them peaches again 😜! Love Tah and Nelly together. Chicago, Kapri, Syn, Vana all great characters with great story lines. Overall great book!
First I would like to thank Kellz Kimberly for a full length standalone novel!!! It's been a while since I've read one not knocking the series but sometimes a girl becomes nostalgic for a book that really ends on the last page LOL. Ok now that, that is out of the way let's talk about this AMAZING BOOK that this young lady put out. I have not one negative thing to say. From page one I was intrigued and the feeling only continued to grow as the book progressed. I loved, loved, loved, Chicago and Kapri's relationship. The fact that they were friends first and foremost was good to see. I loved the strong backbone Kapri displayed in this book. We got a glimpse of why they weren't together as adults initially and I must say that some women wouldn't have shown the fortitude to cut a man off that they had feelings for after catching them in a compromising situation. Kapri was a high school student when she decided to walk away to prevent ruining her friendship with Chicago. When they finally decided to pursue their relationship it made it all the more special. Ivanda was doing the most in the book but once Ms. Kimberly gave us a glimpse into her backstory I understood just a tad bit what made her go so hard for a man that had made it clear from the beginning that he wasn't looking for a relationship. When Syn came in the picture from the jump I just KNEW that he had to be Chicago's long-lost twin brother. The way they embraced each other(after their initial altercation must have been a man thing lol) was a great addition to the already great story. Tah and Chicago's relationship couldn't have been any closer than if they had been actual blood brothers. I love Tah for the way he swooped in and helped put Nelly back together and showed her the love that she had been missing. The scene between Tah and Tez in the Tattoo parlor was hilariously funny. I can appreciate a no nonsense brother like Tah, he said what he meant and he meant what he said. Chicago and Syncere's parents, Cynthia and Kaylin allowed us to glimpse what star-crossed lovers look like up close and personal. It was clear that they had a love that was able to survive across time, space, deception, and a murderous, deceitful father. I'm not sure how else they could have handled the situation with Cynthia's father when their children were born, although I do think that after the boys became older and could better understand things that they would have been better served to have met earlier than 25. I hate they underestimated Justin ultimately leading to a terrible blow for everyone involved. The entire book was an example of excellence. Ms. Kimberly satisfied my high standards once again and knocks a home run right out of the park. I could go on and on about the caliber of work that Ms. Kimberly presents but I will say this you would be extremely remiss if you miss out on this GREAT read!!! Wonderful Job, Excellent show of craftsmanship!!!! It is always great as an avid reader to come across a book that you know you will re-read time and time again for years to come!!! Can't wait to see exactly what Ms. Kimberly is able to pull out of her sleeve next!!!
I really enjoy this Standalone by Kellz. I can see that she poured a lot of emotion in her characters in this one. The character relationships were not typical at all, she gave them strength and confidence in who they were. Chicago and Kapri are best friends and because of that bond jealousy is shown from the 2 people they are involved with. No matter how many times they try to remain friends there is always that what if. When a drastic event happens both characters come to terms of their relationship, more so for Kapri. As their journey continues you see and feel how deep the love is between the 2 of them, but not without drama. Then you have Nelly and Tah, Tah is hot head. Tah however is a man of actions, you would think someone like him would forever run the field but the Author shows you a different side. One that many wouldn't expect. As far as Nelly she's very caution when it come to love and emotion. Nelly has a lot insecurities stemming from her childhood. Even after a tragic death, once estrange family members rekindle love they never had. They all find love and affection in ways they thought they wouldn't and that's what make this story so great. Its not about just illegal activity, shooting and killing, although I love that too, but about real emotions, real love between real gentlemen and strong minded woman. This has to be one of my favorite and I love how the story line played out. Great Job Kellz!!!
Yes, yes, yes! Finally we are getting full books again, and what a way to start of the new year. Kellz has definitely set the bar with this standalone. I was waiting weeks after the reveal for this book to come out and I was definitely not disappointed. I love Chicago and Kapri, they were absolutely adorable. From the friendship to the relationship it was real life. Not every time your take a friendship there does is all play out the way you would think, so I appreciated Kellz not giving me hearts and flowers from the jump. Kelly and Tah were something else. I was glad that these two secondary characters didn't come in and completely steal the show, I am only saying secondary because you don't get their story from jump it gets to those two eventually though. The only problem I had was the ending was a bit rushed. I would have liked to see that play out a bit more, but that's not a huge deal at all. Awesome job!
If I could give this book more than 5 stars I definitely would. In a world full of series Kellz was able to deliver a full length standalone that left no questions unanswered. I loved the love these couples in this book had for each other. Chicago played no games when it came to Kapri. I am so glad Ivana was able to change her ways and get her true love back cause I wanted to smack her the whole first half of the book. Nelly was able to overcome!e her insecurities and let Tag in and it turned out to be the beginning of something beautiful. I also loved how the characters from FFARN made an appearance in this book as well. Kellz I am definitely looking forward to more of your work in the future.
This was an excellent read!! I truly enjoyed this book from beginning to end. I laughed and cried throughout the entire book. I absolutely loved all the characters. I know that the book was mostly centered around Chicago and Kapri, but Tahiem and Nelly were my favorite couple in the book. They were so cute together and I just loved how Tahiem handled Nelly with such love and care. I loved the things that he said to her. It was just beautiful. Now he was gangster and you definitely did see that part of him, but had mad love for Nelly. Now, Chicago and Kapri were most def down for each other, but it took some time for them to pull it together once they went from being besties to a relationship. I am glad it all worked out. Great job, Kellz Kimberly!!
This author always bring her pen game. This story was awesome. I loved the way Chicago and Kapri's relationship was he loved her since they were teens. Nelly and Tah were perfect for each other. Tah waw comical and i love his character. I couldn't stand Ivana but she was just a woman scorned and did anything to seek revenge. But she turned out to be alrite. Syn still loved her unconditionally. Justin was deranged I can't believe what he did to Cynthia. I'm so glad that Chicago finally let Kaylin in his life. Everyone was happy and I loved it. Great Job
I loved this book. The men of this book were protective over their girls and the women fought for what was theirs. I loved how Kapri, Nelly, and Vana could have a friendship after all that BS ... Even though I felt at first there was a little shade. Diego got on my nerves! He always popped up. I felt the boys pain and I'm Glad Chicago finally let his Pops in and Nelly faced her mom. Grandma & Tah were hillarious! And I want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart for making this O ... N ... E ... BOOK and not a dragged out series.
Loved , loved , loved this book....Chicago was a complicated , loving , crazy man and sexy too. He made me root for him from the beginning. But my love is for Tah....mmm....I need a spin off of Tah & Nelly....ASAP!!!!..This book hit me with everything I look for in a book. Drama , jealousy , sex , action , surprises and laughter. Grandma Mattie was my grandmother...lol....I recommend this book...click NOW!!!!
THIS AUTHOR NEVER FAIL ME......OUTSTANDING ....STORYLINE CREATIVE ORIGINAL AND BRILLIANT.... Loving me some thug love the Characters was was down to earth relatable and loving ....Cynthia left her legacy and Chicago from his other half and grandpa got what he deserved...Jelly learn to love herself While Tah found h I s one true love even the thot found love LOVE ME A HAPPY ENDING
The ladies of this publishing is taking these standalone by storm. I loved every single thing about this book. Took too long to read as I had to work and finish another book. I'm glad I took my time. I just love Chicago. That man is bae. I still don't like ivana that girl was so damn dumb. Glad she was dumb enough to kill Kapri. First person stories are my absolute favorite.
I loved how she told the story of Chicago and Kari because sometimes your best friend can make the best mate. Chicago had me nervous there for a moment but I was glad of the outcome. Now far as Tah and Nelly they were too cute for they own good. This was the first time I was routing for the villain aka Ivana even she was able to find her happiness. I was happy to see Zahara and the crew. Trust me you won't be disappointed in this one at all.
