All Emily wanted for Christmas this year was a brand new Tickle Me Elmo. What she got instead was a tattered old run-down teddy bear named Stan.

But Stan is no ordinary toy.

Dressed in a grass green vest, black shorts and a blue and white sailors hat, this quirky looking antique bear holds a much darker secret; a secret similar to serial killers who collect trophies of their victims. A secret that will not only change poor Emily’s life but also the lives of her family forever.

Stan by Kevin Patel is a very good fantasy story on the dark side. A little girl gets a stuffed old teddy bear for Christmas and there's more to the doll then anyone knows. An excellent scary short story.

It's was ok, but definitely not great. Creepy/possessed dolls or toys are definitely a good hook for a horror story.

I can't give it more than 2 stars though. It wasn't bad, really. It needs more background, more explaining. I'm glad this is only a "written trailer" & that a longer novel version will be released later this year. :) this was a good start, but it definitely needs more.

I eagerly await the novel. Hopefully I can give that a higher rating.

this was a good little read . i enjoyed it. I hope when the full book comes out, I find it so I can read the whole thing
