Veronica Williams lost everything that kept her alive: her home, her heart, and most importantly, her brother Jacob. She is forced to push past the grief to seek vengeance against the man who took it all-Luke Grislon.
Set on a journey of no return, she is willing to pay the ultimate price for revenge, her humanity.
Can she find peace in a shattered world, or will doubts, mistrust, and unanswered secrets be more than she can endure?
Amber R. Polk was born and raised in a small town in Eastern Oklahoma. Since then, she moved to Colorado, back to Oklahoma, and now resides in Western Arkansas. Although her husband disagrees, she will always consider herself an Okie and proud of it. She is a great cook (don’t fact check with her children) and loves spending her time getting kicked off go-cart tracks for aggressive driving. If you have any questions or comments you can find her on Facebook (she’s always there).
This was my first read by this author and it was also my first Dystopian!
I probably should have read Survive first, to have gotten a better look into the characters (and that's where the story begins), but unfortunately I didn't. In all honesty though, I was not lost and able to follow along just fine.
I really enjoyed the world Amber has created. Roni is filled with uncertainty and heartache. She has no one to turn to, nothing left to lose!
This story kept me intrigued. There was sadness, love, friendship and loyalty. I giggled a few times, held my breath at others and even shed a couple of tears!!
This was actually a light and very easy going read. It had happiness and silliness amidst the mystery and dread.
I now count myself as a huge fan of Amber R. Polk. Some have even called me a Super Fan! I lucked out when I came across Super Chick. I was hooked! I loved Survive as well even though it's not my normal genre. Endure is even better! Veronica is now alone. Jacob is gone and She blames Luke. She finds her strength to fight back. Great read that I couldn't put down. I can't get enough and I'm anxiously waiting to see what happens next.
I was a big fan of the first book Survive and was dying for the second book. I loved every minute of it and found Roni's descent into revenge filled madness an abrupt change of pace from her character's personality in the first book. I still loved the characters and the characters made the story more entertaining. I am very much looking forward to the third book in this series.
I was given this book for a fair and honest review.... What i like about Ms Polks work, is she actually takes off where she left off in the first book.... If you read the first book, you then know Roni witnessed... and why she is on a quest to find Luke. We see Roni slip into some what of a crazed state.... and how her anger and hate gets the best of her. When she finally does find Luke ... she realizes how wrong she was and comes to grip with it. She and Luke are then on another quest to save Adam and Jacob. Without giving too much away.... it ends with quite a bang. I look forward to the 3rd in this series...
This book was amazing I really hope there will be a next book I'm dying to Know what happens next I just love the characters and the plot it was a real page turner .
